Are You Pregnant? #Rude #Lazy #Hairstylist #Karen #Siiriparkss

Okay, so we're just doing your hair cut today, right, yes, ma'am, just a trim, okay, cool I'll, be right! Back, I'm gon na go get my new stool, okay, stool, all right cool! Let'S begin! So why don't you tell me a little bit about what's been going on lately? Not much are you about to have a baby? No, why would you ask that? Oh well, I've only ever seen women who do hair and are about to have a baby sit down. So I guess I'm just confused as to why you're being lazy, then, okay, so I'm not being lazy, I'm just working more efficiently for myself, um! Normally, when I do your hair, I'm I'm hunched over like this while standing and that really takes a toll on me. Physically, so, oh so, instead you're calling me short, so you're, lazy and rude, your bad posture sounds like a personal problem. Don'T take it out on me and don't mess up my hair in the process by being lazy? No, no one is calling you anything. I'M literally six foot tall, the chairs, just don't pump most of my clients up high enough, I'm the tallest stylist in the salon. So my boss went ahead and got me a stool so that it would make things easier on me. Yeah, making things easier is something a lazy person would say and I'm sure your co-workers would love to sit down too, because no one else is six foot tall. Okay, so elaborate, tell me how exactly sitting down makes you more efficient as a stylist? Okay? Well, in many different ways for one, do you do great work whenever you're in pain like if you go to work and you're sick? Are you probably going to get a lot done that day or are you going to do the best that you can do? Probably not I'd be too distracted by not feeling well. Okay, so same with me, this chair alleviates my pain, therefore making me a better stylist, because I can focus more on the hair in front of me, rather than the back pain that I'm in from bending down. For such a long amount of time also, when I'm bent over I'm going downward, I'm bent downward, so the haircuts slant downward this chair allows me to be level with your head, so I can cut in a straight line. Oh, why didn't you just say so? Instead of calling me short, okay well for the second time, no one called you anything and you never asked you just called me: lazy, no need to get snippy. It was an innocent mistake. Can you just hurry up sure? Okay and you're done? Let'S go get. You checked out: okay, um. Can I come back in about 10 weeks, great I'll set you up with one of our stylists that stands while she cuts hair, really

kcanded: You never NEVER ask a woman if she's pregnant unless there's an actual baby coming out of her at that moment.

Cristy Vega: Customer: “Omg are you pregnant?!” Me: “No, why? Are you?”

A CL: You just should not have to explain why you’re sitting.

Lilly: In germany I've never witnessed a hairdresser NOT sitting down with me for the cut. Also cashiers and such sit down here. I am very glad for everyone that's able to have a work place as comfortable as possible - work is hard enough - why shouldn't people be able to make the best out of it. Siiri shoulda just said "I sit down cause it's more comfy" End of story.

Kate Templeton: My hairdresser sometimes uses a stool and it never even occurred to me to ask her why she uses it. Because it's none of my business. If the haircut is good then it's all that matters. I can't believe that such rude people exist.

Katie Cottingham: At 6' tall as a woman, you used to (and might still) qualify for gigantism and therefore medical accommodations like a stool would be protected. I know this because of a college friend who is 5'11" and qualified, and with the arthritis as well she was able to get a handicap placard so she could work, get groceries, and attend classes without risking a burnout that could lead to a hospital stay. If you're unusually tall and struggle, talk to your doctor about reasonable accommodations to reduce strain and pain while increasing overall health, and for your employer that means increased quality work.

Krysten Burkhardt-Hansyn: No one understands, just how rude some people can be when you’re a hairdresser. And Siri after spending so many years as a hairdresser and working in the salon and spa industry, I have serious problems with my back, my legs developed severe swelling and varicose veins, my feet are deformed from wearing high heels every day, I have serious problems with my bladder from holding it for 8 to 10 hours a day, and just so much has gone wrong with me now that I’m older. I’m glad to see that you’re taking care of yourself and not feeling zero guilt about it!

meats: man like, being rude to the folks cutting your hair feels like being rude to the folks who are cooking for you. you could easily fuck up someone's month with the right snip and yet theyre out here making jackasses outta themselves

Makayla Forbes: As a former stylist, I can say that doing that line of work for years on end does end up taking a toll on the back and other parts. Not to mention that most shops have their stylists working from opening to sometimes well past closing, so the working hours aren't short by any means, so being able to sit for a few cuts would be a huge blessing

Michelle Gable: How can you deal with rude and ignorant customers? You stay so level headed!!! Keep up the highly skilled work, you’re obviously filled with charisma and talent.

María F. Loscher: I've been living in Poland for 4,5 years and change, and almost everytime I've gotten my hair cut the stylist sits down (and I know when they do, I'll love the haircut because they take their time and work better, and also they're more comfortable so I feel better knowing that they're not suffering through my haircut lol). Before that, back home in Venezuela, I never saw anyone sit down to do hair, even for color or styling, and I always felt bad that they had to be on their feet all day, it's like, let people be comfortable, you know?

Elora Chambers: My hairdresser just asks me to stand for the cut since I have long hair and I'm tall. I don't fault her for it at all, the chairs just really don't go high enough.

Holly J: People are so freaking ignorant! I'm 5'2 and couldn't reach people's head so I would ask them to slide down and they would catch an attitude ughhh the days as a hairstylist I remember well!

Nora Valkyrie: I am so freaking sorry if this has happened to you more than once. I hope you feel the best you can everyday forward♡♡♡♡

Marisol Ontiveros: It's a reasonable accommodation and you need it to work better. That's it.

Nayla Parkar: Baby, your patience is just something. I would have burst like a volcano and tell her to shut her mouth and mind her business and wait for the final outcome. What I do, how I do MY work is none of her business. I get frustrated sometimes how in the world people can be like this, but seriously, I being a teacher have had a few cases like these, so I kind of can understand... Love your videos girl. Specially your hair. Red black one.

Idk: I’m obsessed with these videos! Who wouldnt love to have such a cool stylist who is so dedicated to her clients.

legendarymythlover: She probably thinks anyone with a chronic illness is lazy too

larla03: The freedom to feel like she can call you lazy.....

Echo McDaniel: After the 3rd time of being called lazy I'd stop explaining and simply say OK so this is how I operate, if you're uncomfortable I'd be happy to book you in for another day with a different stylist. If she continued I'd say OK I think we're going to do that. So I won't be doing your hair today, but If you'd like to book with someone else I can check what's available this week. no one deserves to take that and you definitely shouldn't keep on feeding her fire by continuing to argue your point.

redchic: Im so sorry! As someone who is 6' tall, I understand the struggle. But I also have thigh length hair. .... And I always offer to stand on steps, a stool, anything the beautician has available to make hair reach about mid stomach for her. Occasionally it works best that I sit up on a high counter. I apologize for all of these narrow minded folks.

Shy Lemon: I used to work at a thrift store. I worked in the back organizing clothes from donation bins. I lived down the road just 5 minutes away but my car was broke down so I ended up walking to work uphill which made it a 30 minute walk. It was also the middle of summer and really really hot out some days. So I'd sit in a stool for most of my shift. It didn't make my workload any easier or any harder. It just made the walk home more bearable. Especially since this is also how I did all my grocery shopping, also a 30 minute walk from home. Literally everything I needed to do outside of the house required walking. Anyway my coworkers seemed to think I was lazy and anytime I got up (to use the restroom, take lunch, put clothes out on the floor, etc) they'd put the stool away and try to hide it. They'd never even admit it either. I knew it was my coworkers because my manager literally gave me permission to do that and he was super kind.

Kayla Buckner: Ugh.. people like this infuriates me. They always have to put words in your mouth. Every hair stylist I've ever met have back problems from standing on their feet on concrete all day long. People like this must have never had to work a physical job or stand on their feet hours on end every day. Making accomodations for your pain isn't lazy. It's the opposite of lazy. It's better than taking medications all the time or calling into work because you're in pain.

BioShocking: Idk where Karen’s get the audacity to demand that you perform labor for them at any personal cost Also holy crap tall girls are

Rhea Hawko: I wouldn't explain anything to her. I would just say you can go now

elderly poodle: Love this one. I was a Floral Designer for 36 years. I stood at my bench and ate my lunch standing up. Busy shop. I sit down for intricate corsages. I have had customers complain about the speed when I pulled my stool up to work on those. They assumed I was just relaxing . Of course they ordered last minute before the prom.

Carolyn Wade: The audacity of some people!! I love watching your videos!

Marlie Blanton: Get out of my chair!! I'm done.

Meredith: I hope this isn't based on a true story, but it's probably a combination of many of them. Honestly, more stylists should have these tools available to them. Accessibility is important. While we're at it, cashier's should get stools as well!

Alydarful: “No need to get snippy” In a hair salon? ⚰️

Kim: I'd prefer my stylist sitting down instead of making me stand up. Happend to me once as a kid. I felt really awkward the whole time.

coco3045 W: My husband and both our sons are over 6ft tall and I’m 5’1 what a sight But I never ever question anyone sitting because it’s none my business. I have 2 bad knees and a bad back I can’t imagine how bad your back feels after working all day long our old hairdresser who was my old friends mom was almost 6’ tall too and she had her own personal salon off her home Her home her hours ❤❤❤

Joey L: I used to want to be a hair stylist for curly hair, the fear of not making enough money in this job was already enough to deter me. People like this would've sent me over the edge.

B Forman: [Sigh] Most tables, chairs, countertops etc are not designed for tall people. The pain is real.

Mae M: The reason a hair stylist is sitting could be like Siri was talking abt in the vid so she doesn’t have to be hunched over. It could also be she’s been standing all day and needs to sit down if she has a chance to sit. Sitting down could possibly be related to some sort of injury that happened recently and maybe needs to sit sometimes. Someone could have a condition where they literally can’t stand after a while of sitting

Mae M: If I had to deal with this person I would be so tempted to say “if you’re so adamant abt not being lazy how about you stand while I do your haircut”

Alicia LaCasse: You are so pretty, it does not matter which hair color/style you wear! You look so great in every skit.

Courtney Shaffer: I was literally in prelabor and someone wanted to give me sass for sitting down at work. You literally cannot win with some people.

Kristen Taylor: no way. There can't be women like this!!! My God, I couldn't care less if a stylist sits or stands. I'm always in awe how they can stand all day, it's painful

It's Me, Ashley: I love that you are putting your life in art form

Vcvcvc92: I used to have chronic pain from health issues and had to sit to work at cash so I wouldn't have to hold myself up with the counter, I worked in a really boujie area and SO many people would be like "oh must be so nice to be able to sit all day" or "the reason there's such a big line is because you're sitting" as if it being a week before Christmas had nothing to do with it. I would just say "I physically can't stand for more than a few minutes" my boss ended up taking my chair away because "clients were complaining" and said "you bike to work so you should be able to stand" as if you don't sit while biking, also I was making minimum wage, how did she expect me to get there? Thankfully I got better and left that job, she literally hired me after I told her I had chronic pain, would do all the necessary work, just needed to sit. Abelist bs.

Cheyenne Larson: I’m 6 ft tall as well, my husband got me a stool for the nursery so I don’t have to hunch over while changing diapers at the changing table. ❤

Lhappylstalker7: the whole salon I go to sit down...as other comments have said, I've never thought to ask why - I assumed it was more comfortable and easier lmao. But it's p standard that they're on wheelie seats and kinda scoot round you. Just my appt runs like 4/5 hrs at a time - if my stylist didn't sit for any of that, I'd be worried for her.

Knothere2 day: Being 5'10 with a jacked up spine. I can relate

Crystal Francis: I have back pain and sit at a desk for my job. I have a standing desk so I can adjust my working space as needed to reduce my pain. This is the same thing. Most people actually need accommodations to do their job and they just don't advocate for themselves. So good for you for taking care of your body.

Carolyn Brown: I am so sorry that you actually have to deal with these kinds of people.... I wouldn't want to do someone's hair that spoke to me like that. Haven't these people heard of "don't bite the hand that feeds you." These stylists don't do their best when standing up (if they are tall) AND dealing with an a-hole client!

Kelsey CoCa: I have a fainting disorder so chairs and stools are a godsend when I'm feeling extra faint-y, I work really hard but it's also a safety issue when I'm out on the floor next to machinery and a concrete floor. sorry they were so rude

Mariah Jane: Are you really 6 ft tall? You're gorgeous and tall, I'm super envious. I am 5ft 1 I have two sons who are 6 ft 3 and 6 ft 6 I think they got all the height lol

Mykayla: Even if Siiri was pregnant and does hair who uses a stool to sit doesn’t make them “lazy”

Sassy Sick Chick: Ok that last line made this one my favorite!

Lauren Shultz: I would NEVER ask anyone if they’re pregnant unless it was obvious, like end of pregnancy. NEVER assume someone is pregnant it’s so rude, you’re just calling them fat. And i’ve been body shamed, so I know how terrible it feels to know people are judging YOUR body.

Freakish Things Happen: My stylist sits down, she’s also really tall. Entirely understandable. Idk why that would be “lazy” ever

Jamie Cormier: Even if you’re not in pain, it takes more energy to stand than sit.

Emily Rochester: The fact that most hourly workers in America aren't perceived as working if they're sitting is so disgusting. My mom was waiting tables in a hotel when she was 8 months pregnant with me and she wasn't allowed to sit for her whole shift. And she still shrugs and says garbage like, "Oh well, that's the business, what are you gonna do," instead of getting pissed about it.

Sydney Marshall: I would have said “know what? I won’t mess your hair up. Because I’m not doing your hair at all. Leave.”

Saundra Johnson: OMG, Siiri! Where do you find these people? I have never seen so many bad attitudes as I have since discovering your channel. You handle them all quite well, but where do you find the patience?

Toujours Ici: I watch a lot of these videos and many of them tell the story of bad behavior but I normally don't comment. Maybe I'm just in a mood but I would not be able to cut someone's hair if they were this obnoxious and rude. I would probably get fired on the first day.

KeitieKalopsia: "Are you calling me short?" She's sitting down, right? That's not short, that's sitting.

Tibicen Linnei: I'm 5'2" and my bff is a hair stylist. When he does my long (I mean to my ass) hair, he pulls up a stool. My dude is 6'3" and I KNOW my hair is a pain in his ass. I'm just thankful he makes time for me to do it for free. ❤️

Christy Weaver: Me being 6'2": this accuracy is very accurate

RagdollMegs: cutting stools are standard practice in Australia, its literally how we are taught to cut hair.

Abigail Hardin: As another tall stylist, I can’t believe the people I have to defend my stool to!!!! I’m using it so I can actually see the nape of your neck!

Enn Zee: The speed at which she would’ve been asked to leave.

WaywardAF67: 100% need my professionals of any kind to be able to rest their feet. Who wants a nurse who hasn’t slept? A stylist who is uncomfortable? Today I asked my stylist if we could move my neck trim around. I was her only client that morning and she said as long as I don’t care she’s dressed like a car rider mom. Girl, you make me look good. You can show up in a moo moo for all I care. Just take care of me before vacation

Nikki Botts: I hated how it instantly went to being lazy. As long as their hair turned out, it shouldn't matter. Good thing you weren't going to suggest standing on your head. Imagine the comments.

LaMaPel: why does sitting down while working be labled as lazy? I never understood that. Where I'm from it's compleatly normal for hairstylists to sit down while doing the appointment, they only stand when they have to. Our cashiers also always sit

Flutenany Idk: I HATE IT when people target those that are disabled but don't look the part. I have friends with EDS and one of them uses a wheelchair. When people see her in a wheelchair, all young and pretty, and able-minded, they always judge her. Especially when they see her STAND! Then suddenly, even though she has a joint dislocate every day and sometimes it's best for her to stop walking to take the stress off of her joints, they all glare at her. It's disgusting. This video reminded me of that. Friendly reminder that not everyone that's disabled looks disabled.

Dani Keebler: I was given a sensitivity/harassment in-service at work. #1 thing is NEVER ask about pregnancy. Let them bring it up. It is not my conversation to open. That was reallllly rude.

Emma Smith: Being lazy means not doing work. Making work more efficient and painless is called being smart and accommodating.

SViolet: I mean she's sitting while you're cutting her hair...

Alien baby: Omg I’m 5’0 I’d love to stand next to you that’s so cool how tall you are! I’m glad you have a chair.

Sanjana mukherjee: When you explain yourself to someone who is insulting you , you have already given them power and hence , you have already lost. It is crucial to tell them thats none of their business and that they need to mind their manners. Be the boss. Tell them you will not entertain conversation against them or else they may leave.

TransSnek: My reply Lady: “Oh so you’re being lazy?” Me: “No ma’am, I have a medical problem which effects me being able to stand for long periods of time” Lady: “you’re just-“ Me: “ *Did I stutter* ”

Smurf Monster: Do customers like this really exist in real life?

My neck my back My crippling anxiety Attack 🎗: This is the same type of person who’d call me lazy for using a wheelchair sometimes like ffs. Not everyone’s bodies are the same. Height comes with back pain. Some disabilities make it difficult to walk. Ect ect

liliana valerio: I have Spondylolisthesis on my lumbar and standing more than five minutes is excruciating, but society has made it clear that a back problem only needs painkillers and it'll go away, I wish unfortunately it's a condition for life and no doctors don't care, my chiropractor is the only one who cares if it wasn't for them I'd be in a wheelchair... I'm a beauty therapist and can totally agree with a chair while doing a treatment, I don't know what narcissistic person came up with this having to stand up straight all the time crap it needs to be educated and changed

JAMS's Nana: I've always felt bad for people who have to stand while working. My stylist has arthritis in both her hands. ARTHRITIS!! She's only planning to work a couple of years more, then retire. I always pay about 40% more than what she charges to kind of help her put $$ away; it's a shame, because she loves her job. I wouldn't bat an eye if she had a stool. What difference does it make?? I sure hope these are skits, not real things that have happened to you.

Safran Knaap: "How dare you not permanantly damage your back for your clients"

TheAnimefan56009: Look, if my stylist needs to sit down and work on my hair, that is fine!!!! They need to be comfortable too….as long as they can get the job done more comfortably, that is ALL that matters!!!!

Jessiあいして: I would've told her to gtfo of my chair

Andrea: I don't care if they stand upside-down, naked in only combat boots. As long as they're good, who cares? That client is a piece of work.

Kira: I wouldn't care if a hair stylist is sitting down. If it helps them do there job then do what needs to be done to help them preform better.

Cathleen C: Wow, I would have asked her to leave the first time she said the word "lazy". Def by the 3rd or 4th time she said it!

Nicole N: Its impressive how many shitty people youve dealt with over your career. Good for you for not letting it get you down and making a positive out of their negative

SleepyGal: if someone was doing my hair and they pulled a stool over to sit. I would assume they was tired from being on their feet all day and wouldn't have said anything about it.

MusicizmahQueenSBed4: People are SO rude, it’s incredible. If someone is using a stool while working, you know whose business it is? Not mine. They have their own reasons, and I don’t need to be privy to that. Let people live!

Giggles: I'm not a stylist, but I work with the public all day, and yes, some really are this rude. Most are fine, but those few are a piece of work. While I am courteous, I still *DO NOT* tolerate being belittled. "Were going to be courteous on this line, and if that doesn't happen on both ends of this conversation, I will hang up." I'm fortunate to work for people who have given the team permission to hang up if this happens, as long a we're courteous and give a warning first. Not saying you're allowing this, that wasn't my intent. I just wish that ALL employers did up for their workers. Your bedside manner is awesome, and I really hope no one has ever had the gall to say this to you or to call you names. "Please don't call me names. I'm not calling you names, I would appreciate the same courtesy. If not, then I hang up." Man, all service workers should be supported by management. And if this did happen to you, KUDOS to your boss for not only allowing you to have a stool, but getting one for you. That's awesome. :)

Arcane Crafting: That's it, argue with the person responsible for making you look like a human, and not a giant Karen.

PaiCult: I just woke up from a dream Being pregnant and this is the first video that I open youtube to

Dani Keebler: No one needs to explain pain and discomfort. If you do, they don't understand....or care. There is the door.

Holly Murrison: i'm nearly 6"4 and i can't cut hair without a stool.

TNT ♪: I don't even know who has the audacity to argue for why they think you're doing a bad job. Like. what. If someone needs to sit that could be a medical condition and is no one's business.

Reed Makes: Every single time I watch one of these I really hope there’s not a true story behind this lol eek!

redblasphemy: omg my hair stylist is around 6ft tall, definitely more than 175cm and she styles my short 5'4" ass standing... now I feel bad for her

Mag Ali: The fact that you had to explain.. omg lol.

夜星文: who has the time to ask all these questions, can't get their butt in there and out?

Katy Nadal: I literally would not care why someone is sitting down while doing my hair. If it makes them more comfortable then please do sit. Because I know what it's like to be on your feet all day it's not fun. Especially if your job doesn't allow you to sit down. Besides being on our break or if we need to sit for a second

hey there: You have the right to refuse service to anyone. All the love.

Jenny Konrath: Sitting is so SMART! SAVE YOUR BACK!!

Mikal Stewart: Similar to me when I was at Cosmetology school, only one that was 6ft doing little old ladies that were 5ft2 usually. They would understand me using a stool but my teachers and peers would tell me to suck it up
