New One Step Styler Plus!

NEW One Step Styler PLUS!

Today, I'm testing the newest Revlon One-Step Styler and Volumizer against the award winner, the original Revlon One-Step. The new one step hair dryer features a detachable 2.4 inch oval brush with an added heat setting. That's a huge bonus because the original only has a high and a low heat setting with different air flows. After testing the newest Revlon hair dryer, I think it's definitely worth the extra $10.

Today we have a very, very exciting video as Andrey said., We're going to test out the new and improved Revlon One Step, Volumizer Plus., So what's improved with this new Revlon, Because this comes in at $ 69.99., The award winner, the original is $ 59.99., So you're Paying $ 10 more., So it does have a plus in the name. This right here. First of all, you get a better looking box. You get a cute little bow., I'm not sure if it's just for like Christmas time, but it's a lot smaller. I love that.. So the next thing that they improved they made the actual head smaller., It's 2.4 inches now., It's still oval shape.. So they were saying this is better for or just better in general., It's easier to hold because it's smaller. And then the next thing they changed or added they added a medium heat setting Before they only had a high and a low and then a cool shot.. Now this has a medium., That's one of the things we were complaining, about., That was the biggest thing.. The high heat setting was too high. It was too hot. And then the low heat setting was too low., ( laughs ). It worked, it still functions, but it was still too low. And then another thing you can detach this head. To what else I don't know cause, I didn't see any other attachments. And the one thing I did complain about last time. Also the cord is too short. If you're far away from an outlet., I feel like they could have made a bigger cord, but I think that's just a personal preference., It's a little bit smaller. And you can see the handle it's a little bit longer.. It feels a little longer cause it's slimmer.. So I feel, like you, have a little bit more control.. It'S a little bit lighter, but not like massive, where you're like wow. This is lightweight., It's a little bit, lighter. All right. So, of course, of course, I'm going to do a comparison., The original the award winner versus the new one on the block, the smaller, the more powerful, the more settings.. The one thing I'm concerned now, because I'm probably going to use the medium heat setting. What do I do here? ( laughs, ) between high and low ( device, whirs ), So it's the same airflow for medium and high, but I'm hoping it's not going to be as hot as the high., So they kept the same airflow.. That'S the one thing remember: we were also complaining: about. Aww, look at that. They're. Actually, you know improving and listening to their consumers., All right. Let'S just go for it, see how it is to use a smaller brush.. Let'S start with the high. ( device, whirs ), It feels good. Still very hot., Still very hot, on the highest heat setting, but that was actually really nice.. I like that smaller brush head. Yeah. I do., I feel like it's easier to control.. Let'S go with the award winner. ( device, whirs ), Also high. Yup. I like the smaller one. [ Andrey ]. You seemed quicker with this one though. Yeah, because you have a lot more real estate. Wow, that's hot.! You can kinda like see that It feels a little burned raw because the hair gets so hot. Yeah. I feel like if you want it quicker, you're. Definitely gon na get it done a lot faster with the original, just because you have a lot more real estate on here and a lot more bristles and it just combs through your hair, a little bit better.. But this one I feel, like you, have a little bit more control with the styling portion of your hair., Like you can really maneuver it the way you want it., I'm going to go with the medium., And I will say one thing I like that they switched The dial to go up for your heat settings instead of down. With the original you have to go down for your heat settings.. That was another thing. It'S just like a personal preference cause I feel like when I want to turn something on. I want to go up instead of down., But I thought that was kind of cool that they did that. All right. Let'S turn this on medium. ( device, whirs ), I'm going to continue high with the original. ( device, whirs ), So .... I feel like styling. Your hair, with this type of a brush you can but you're not going to get like crazy defined waves or anything like that.. It'S gon na be more of like a little bend here and there especially towards the bottom., But I didn't really focus too much on the roots cause. I feel like with this top section. I usually like to go with one like this. Instead of going sideways to get more volume towards the top., But I will say that I do appreciate that you have the medium heat setting option with the same air flow as the high., But it does take you like twice as long to style it because obviously You'Re not getting as much heat but then you're not getting as much heat damage. Cause. The high heat is very hot. Interesting. [ Andrey ]. If you had to choose between the two, what would you lean toward This one. Because of the medium? Yes literally.? This is what sold me the medium high heat. [ Andrey ], More versatility, then., I don't mind the smaller brush cause. You can still do big sections, as you guys were seeing. I was trying to use as much of this brush head as possible., So you can style a lot of hair at once, but you do have to go over that section of hair multiple times to make sure you get all the heat through the hair, especially at The medium setting., But I do like that, you have that high airflow. And plus you know these are a little bit cumbersome.. That was like one of the biggest complaints of how heavy these are, after a long period of time, styling on low heat., [ Andrey ]. What about those people who have a lot of hair If you have a lot of hair, ..., High heat, man., [, Andrey ], High heat and you have to use -- The big one., The big one., Unless you really want to you, know, do more precision more Styling. Cause, I feel, like I had a little bit of an easier time with these baby hairs right here, my fringe with the smaller brush head. Cause. You can kind of wrap it around and hold it there get that heat on that section of hair and then let it go. Versus this one. You have to like kind of force, the hair in there you know, especially if your hair is shorter., But I think if you want more body and volume this one right here, especially if you have shorter hair. Cause, I got a lot of body and volume with My shorter hair, when I used this, you know cause it's such a big head and you just keep rolling and twisting, and you get quite a bit of volume. All right. So the question of the day is this worth upgrading to The award-winner to the new plus one to the plus. I personally think it is worth upgrading just because obviously they're setting themselves up for different head attachments., I'm not even sure what kind of attachments they're thinking, but I'm excited for that because you have more options. Next thing: heat settings.. They added one more and I think that's a huge plus. Get it name plus no just me Okay., But I think it's a huge plus because it's the same or similar enough air flow to the high heat setting without the high heat setting.. So it's right there in between the low and the high. That way, you're not burning your hands. You're, not burning your hair. You're, not burning your scalp.. It is taking a little bit longer to style and dry, but honestly, I'm okay with that., And I'm happy with that. Just because I feel like I have a little bit more control. And then, of course, you have the longer barrel, the handle., It's quite a bit. Actually., It's a good amount of length that they added. And it's a little bit thinner, slimmer. So it's a little easier to hold and you guys kind of saw me kind of moving my hand around when I was styling it just to see where it would be. Comfortable. And I think this one's a little bit more comfortable to hold versus the OG. So happy that it's $ 10 more and I'm sure there's going to be a ton of sales on it. All right, I'm going to leave it here.. Thank you for watching spending time with me and this new and improved Revlon, Plus One Step Styler and Volumizer. And we'll see you in the next one very soon., Bye. ( Blows kiss )

Simply Helen: The biggest advantage of the detachable head is that you can do a partial blow out to get it to 80% dry and then attach the head to style. I've been looking for your review on this, glad I found it! Thank you!

Stephanie Vincent: The new brush is a must-have for short hair imo. I'm keeping the original for when my hair is long again, but in the meanwhile the Revlon Plus is sooooo much better for my short hair. It grips way better.

Dean Twitchett: So glad that they listened to influencers like you Milana! Thank you for bringing the new one for us to see the difference. I can definitely see my clients wanting this new one for Christmas

Anastasia P.: Love it when you wear such light natural makeup. With it, you look so fresh and pretty.

Whiteshell Woman: Thank you for the review! I have the original one as well, and I love it! It definitely gives me tons of volume! The downside, I have arthritis and the handle does become uncomfortable to hold, it heats up so hot that I ended up almost burning my scalp a couple of times. I am definitely sold on the PLUS! Thank you thank and merry Christmas to all!

Vicki Zeimen: Love to have this review, this has been on my Christmas list for awhile now. I got one at Costco that I thought was the "plus" but got it home and it was so hot it about burned my ear off. I read the box wrong, it went back to the store today. I have a knock off one step styler that the barrel comes off of and I use it without the barrel to dry my hair a little before I put the brush on.

Camelia mb: I bought the Hot Tools version last year and it also has a detachable head. You can detach the brush and use it as a dryer. Hair should be about 80% dry before using the styling brush, so it's a great option. I love this styling brush. I don't use my other appliances as much (flat iron, or curling iron). My only complaint is, it's not dual voltage for international travel. Neither is the Revlon, Conair, or other similar dyers. I did a Google search and all dryers of this type are not dual voltage. I looked on Amazon and all the knockoffs from china are the same. I finally did come across one that is dual voltage, but more expensive compared to single voltage. It's not quite the same. It doesn't have the twist on/off switch at the bottom, but it has buttons along the handle. It's frustrating, because I constantly have to check that I didn't change the temperature setting by mistake. It doesn't get as hot, but I also don't achieve the same volume as with the Hot Tools, and it takes longer to dry. I'm just happy I don't have to use a crappy hotel dryer when traveling!

Anita7702: Your hair is gorgeous, so healthy looking, amazing

tiffanyn: I’ve had both the revlon and the dyson airwrap. I loved the airwrap but only really wanted the round brush so I couldn’t justify keeping it for $900 including taxes. The thinner, longer handle and thinner brush do succeed in making the revlon plus more similar to the dyson airwrap. The best thing revlon could do would be to make their settings easier to use like the airwrap. Instead of twisting, to have the buttons or switches was definitely easier to use on the dyson.

Amy Pettypiece: I bought the very first one because of you and I still love it! Patiently waiting for the Plus to be released in Canada… can’t wait!

Lucky Bee: Still totally in love with the old one... i find that i get more volume with it... but gotta say, this is the best invention since the flat iron!

Kara McIntee: I juuuust bought my 2nd OG version after dropping and breaking my old one. It’s a life changing tool for me. I love it so much. I’ll def have to try the new one if I break this one!

Louise Marriott: I love my old brush. I have very fine and thin hair so I might get the new brush to make my blow dries easier. I got mine for around £15. Absolute bargain and genuinely so good for the price

Elisa Reker: The new heat settings are a clear improvement. As the old one was way too hot for me I searched for an Alternative and found the remington iconic hydraluxe pro: removable head plus heat setting and airflow can be chosen separately. I love it

Tiffany Stidham: I love it that your hair is now the same length as mine or just a tad shorter. When your hair was shorter, it was hard for me to get the results you were getting because my hair is long & fine. You've taught me literally everything I know about using hair care products & hair tools. Lol

Tamara Morton: I have the original one and it’s so loud! I use air plugs with it to protect my hearing. My sister is deaf so I’m more conscious of that than most people but this thing is really loud and I can’t be good for your ears.I love how well it works, although it basically results in a blow dry using a round brush but it’s a lot easier.

Crystal Wang: You are my go to YouTuber for all things hot styling tools. Once again you didn’t steer me wrong. I have the OG one step styling brush and love it. Scored the plus for Christmas and it works amazingly since I cut my hair last week. Definitely have more control and it looks like I got it done professionally. I by all means am not coordinated nor have enough skill to do this on my own. Kudos to Revlon for helping me fake it. Wish I could post a pic here. Thanks for the great advice!

Tanja Bastigkeit: Interesting. I bought the old one. It works, but higher airflow makes the tool so extreme loud. And the hot setting is really hot.

Jennie Logsdon Martin: My dear, your hair is looking so healthy and lush! Even wet! You have done so well, taking care of it— and teaching us to take care of ours! Thank you! Grandma Jennie

Jah Zah: I have shoulder length hair and I still prefer the original model. I think the newer one is a plus if you want to detach the brush and use it as a blow dryer. Or if you want to replace the brush ( if revlon comes up with selling attachable brush heads separately. I tried both and the medium setting in the newer model pretty much feels like the hit setting. I prefer the original because it also adds more volume to my hair and like my mentioned my hair is shoulder length but the bigger brush head in the original adds the exact amount of volume I need. I’ll be selling my newer model.

Lisa McGrath: i so love the orange one and thank you Milabu for sharing your thoughts and feelings about this beautiful hair tool

Sasquatchgreen: I have the Original and love it, though I need to dry my roots with a hairdryer first. I was looking at the Plus in case the other one should need replacing - I always use mine on the ‘cool’ setting because of the high speed and less hot temperature (it’s not ‘cool’ at all) and was wondering if the cool setting on the new one is still at a higher speed. If anyone knows I would appreciate it. Ideally, there would be a choice of both heat AND speed.

Kelly Brinkerhoff: Looks like I know what I’m gonna ask Santa for Christmas! I find myself not using the original styler because it’s so so hot. I have really fine thin hair so I think the medium setting would be perfect. That high heat can’t be very good for my bleach blonde hair! Thank you for another great review. PS - I just checked on Amazon and you can pre-order it for December 27 and it’s $69. I haven’t checked anywhere else yet

Misty Fry: I’ve had the OG for a year or two now and love it. Might have to upgrade just for the medium setting as I’m trying my best to be nice to my hair.

pauli carr: Just to let you know my personal experience, I only paid $37 for my original, I use the low setting and it is plenty hot and I like the bigger brush because I like a straighter style, I think the smaller brush might give it more curl.

Safflower Oyl: This dryer styler IS GREAT, I'm giving them to all my girlfriends for Christmas

Linda Goodwillie: Not much different but Amazon has the Plus currently for $68.88, not much less than Ulta. I’m not sure if I’ll upgrade or not but thank you for your review! Good to know.

Silvia Cordova: Tengo seis meses que compré the original Revlon y es un excelente producto, practico natación y no maltrata mi cabello. Sinceramente creo son muy buenos productos. Saludos desde Monterrey, N.L. México.

Grandma Of 16: I bought the Conair Infinity Pro Knot Dr at Costco recently. It includes 5 attachments- large brush (72mm) small brush (55mm) concentrator nozzle, diffuser and volume pik (and a wet/dry detangler brush). 1,000 Watts. I believe I paid 49.99 for it (Canada). Pretty good bang for your buck!

Spark _: A very very good tutorial on this !! For everyone's interested to know more about these & thinking of purchasing !! I've watched many vlogs of this product ( original one ) ,but this was great Not fair to compare to others I've watched maybe as tgey didn't have the new one ,yet ! I noticed that you used 'em as if using hot curling irons ,though !? I have never twisted my hair with round roll brushes !! ? Do you get burned using this ,or feel too hot as hot hair irons ? Many complained it got too hot !? Thank you so much for this video !!

Kimmy Chouki: I have been waiting for a review like this. I find the original is such a clunky odd shape to hold and turn. Cant wait to get the 2.0 version!

Patty Murrieta: I received the Dyson air wrap as a gift from my husband very nice but didn’t not like removing the attachments for each side. I tried these and was so much better.

LauraLVT GW1020: I have such fine thin hair, shoulder length, gray hair and use the original on the low heat setting. I also bought the Revlon 1200W Style, curl and volumize 3 piece kit from Amazon. I can get more style from this one as the brushes are smaller and round. However it works better on dry hair. I would love your thoughts!

Libby Bowman: A very beautiful look Milan’s. And, GREAT PHOTOGRAPHY. Your new equipment is working really well. I can see so much more detail now. Excellent work guys.

Ashley Dworakowski: So glad you made this video. You are the reason I bought the original. I have shorter hair and the OG works great for me, so I'll wait to see what else they may do with additional starches before I spend more money. Thank you!!

KP62: I always let my hair dry as much as possible and then I go back over it with the OG revlon styler. I may have to try this one out :) thanks milana

Amy Nichols: I had the super old one and just bought the bigger one, I love mine. I'm sure I'd the the smaller one too. I have long think hair, these are amazing. I would think the smaller one might be better for shorter hair too. I haven't noticed mine being too hot.

Judi Goldfarb: Thank you beautiful, I bought the original because of you , but I’m thinking of trying the new one, my hair is thin & it’s a short bob. Getting on Amazon, they saw pre-order & will be shipped 12/27. Merry Christmas to you & your special family❄️☃️

Sarah_Spa: Your makeup looks so beautiful in this video

Maria V: I just got this one I’m so excited to try it ☺️

Laura Hayner: You look so beautiful. Not that you ever do a bad job on your makeup tutorials. This one came out so beautiful. I think you are right. I think it is the lipstick and lip liner. I think you are going to get a lot of compliments on your makeup tonight. You always do a great job on your glam. That is why I love watching you! ❤. It is not overdone or underdone. Love it. ❤ . Have a wonderful time at your party......

The Honest Truth: I just returned the new revlon volumizer plus, had it for a month only the bristles frayed and the red tips came of … I loved that it had medium heat and that the head was removable but they brush life was too short and I have short thin hair and the way the bristles frayed you would think I had super thick hair but nope … so I’m in search of another hot tool!

Denise Brauner: I finally got off the fence because ULTA had the pink one on sale (in the app only) plus I was able to apply a 20% off code, for a total of $39.99. I decided not to buy it with points, for ease of return if I really don't like it. Can't wait to try it out!

Happyme!: I really really hope Revlon bring out different brush heads to attach to this new unit. I have the original and my main issue is the handle is so hard to manoeuvre and hurts my hands, in addition to the large brush size. I’d love this new model but with the ability to use a large oval or round brush attachment to swap in. Maybe eventually also a paddle brush or basic hairdryer nozzle too but revlons paddle brush version of this wasn’t great.

Elizabeth Veeravalli: Thanks for answering the question about which one is better for longer hair. I have thick, coarse long hair so I think I would need the bigger one. Luckily it's on sale for $35 on Amazon. Maybe a Xmas gift? Lol

lac92576: Now, they just need to make one that comes with different sized heads that you can interchange. The original makes it hard for me to dry my bangs because it’s so big

KevkevDisG: I bought the original one when these started becoming popular and, at first, I thought these were amazing. But then over the years I noticed I was never really reaching for it anymore. I think the thing I didn't really like about these is that it's really loud, and I honestly didn't really find it cutting down on my drying/styling time compared to a blow dryer and round brush. Also, because the blow dryer is built into the styling brush, this ends up being a direct heat styling tool making direct contact on damp hair (and these things got HOT), compared to a blow dryer that just uses hot hair. My hair wound end up feeling more damaged after finishing a session. Obviously not as bad as if I were to take a flat iron and run it through damp hair, but it was apparent that my hair didn't feel as good compared to the traditional method. I always waited for my hair to be about 80-90% dry and always used it on the low setting. This just wasn't a winning product for me.

Tasmeera Chowdhury: the detachable head will be a game changer when it comes to cleaning the brush head!

Glenda James: Wow great review. I loved the old one but hated the high heat setting as well with low not cutting it. I’m buying this.

Eden Sam: I’m glad you made this video ! I was thinking of getting it too. Please do a follow up after 3 months and let us know. Also is it better to have your hair 50% dry or so before using it as a finisher ??

Pam Sury: QVC had the styler with three different interchangeable brushes for $79.

Casey Young: I think it is detachable to allow you to rough dry your hair before the blowout oart

Brenda: Thanks for posting. I used to have the original but got rid of it because I just couldn’t manage how hot it was and how heavy it was to use.

Phoebe Harris: Looks very beautiful looks nice the way u styled ur hair x

TinkerBellBabes: I would love to see you review the new shark hair dryer set. I’m curious to see the comparison between it and the dyson

Stephanie Maderse: I love watching this kind of videos,,how I wish I could try this .....stay safe

Petya Koseva: How long does it last ? Is it smooth for long? I have fine wavy hair - thank you

Phantom345: This thing is a game changer! LOVE mine!

Jamie Rath: Have you tried the hot tools one? Curious how the new one and the hot tools compare?

Cynthias stylemua: They made the head detachable so you can clean the brush. I'd buy it now. That really bothered me. They should sell attachments like the Dyson.

Sarah Baker: I hope they changed how hot it gets, mine almost caught fire. It got so hot and then it started sparking! I’ll have to try this one:) Thank you ❤️❤️❤️

Lunatama Mochi: You’ve just made me buy this I got the original as in the UK we don’t have the plus.

Julie Hopersberger: Omg the head detaches so you can freaking clean it! That was my biggest con on the first one!

SuRFerretti: I can attach my diffuser to the handle. Plus, it fits in my toiletries carryon a lot better than the original.

Barbara Preston: Love the comparisons!

Jennifer Williams: Have you tried the DryBar 3 in 1 interchangeable? Curious how it compares to the Revlon (either version).

70’slady Always: I actually loved using this, BUT my hair DID NOT!!! I am still trying to repair my hair. I had MAJOR heat damage. Hopefully it’s designed better now. Thanks for this review.

Grieta: I got a Chi 4 in one. I can use without any attachments as a regular hairdryer. I wish you would do a review on it

Luda London: Would you still recommend the Hot Tools over the new Revlon one though…?

C C: They need to make replacement brush heads too. The bristles bend and break off after being used for a while.

Katherine Beras: I needed this review. I loved the revlon

Florida Girl R: Honestly, no one should be paying $59 for the original. You can usually find it for $34-45 on Amazon or Walmart ..

Live love life: I still preferred my dyson air wrap because it gives it a more smoother shiny finish on my course hair

Kyra Hitt: i think the different attachments would be awesome if they are made properly. i have short hair and use mine on the low setting and i dont mind it. the high is too hot. if they gave the option for heat and airflow separately that would be a winner. maybe they are going for a cheaper version of the dyson. thank you for a hair video! please post more hair! less make up! we are wearing masks! not helmets!

Nicole Cordova: I have thick hair and was just on a cruise using the original. I use the high heat and the heat from the brush set off the fire alarm in the cabin. My hair looked great.

Southern Gypsy: Thank you for reminding me why I've never bought one of these... They take forever and it's nothing I can't accomplish with a round brush and blow dryer in 1/2 the time..

Ri Hins: Would appreciate it if you can travel “worldwide” with it especially now that it’s thinner.

Kathleen Martin: I hope if they made it detachable, they will make other heads too.. then i may buy the new one. But as of now I'm keeping my old one. I love it

Katelynn Lee: I’ll buy whichever one is on sale at TJMAXX. They’re the same thing. I would just use low heat anyway. Everyone says it gets super hot anyway.

Stacy Johnson: Have you used the T3 Airebrush? Same concept but two different heads and a few more choices for heat setting. Would love a review!

C: Possibly detachable for easier cleaning?

Western NC Girl: I like Revlon products. Sometimes they put out a dud but most of what I've bought works well for me.

Anita7702: Please show us using the Airwrap with your current hair length, thank you ❤

Joan Borger: Excellent video, presented very well!!

Cooky cutie: Next : try out the REVLON SPECIAL EDITION (BLACK AND RED ) , I bought one and I AM EXTREMELY SATISFIED with the results, I owned the original revlon and it was too hot and pulled my hair , and the revlon SPECIAL EDITION was just amazing, it has big brush for bigger sections and is SOOOO LIGHT WEIGHT it just is amazing

Erick Arellano: Every time I style my hair with this tool my hair just falls after 20 minutes and goes back to being puffy. What can I do to help it stay? I've tried hairspray after wards or oil too and it doesn't help

Priscila Bee: I mean, try to count how many times she has to go over the same hair piece to get a good result. Much healthier and quicker to do 1 pass with a flat iron.

Melissa Barton: I so want this tool, there is no way I can afford the Dyson. this is a nice alternative. Your hair looked Great!

Belen G: If the barrel is smaller wouldn't that create less volume in your hair though?

Alternative Emily: I like the idea of a hot air brush but personally I use a hairdryer and then straighteners Does anyone have good budget friendly suggestions

Dr Bann: And I just bought the original one 4 wks ago I love it but cons was the size of the brush I feel it’s too big should I return it or keep it ??? It gave my thin hair nice volume so I wonder if the plus will do the same

JamesB02: I purchased the original dryer which I haven't used yet on Amazon's cyber Monday for $22 yeah thats not a typo.

Author Anne Braun: Hi Milabu; I have the bigger dryer and find it heavy and hot setting too hot. I have fine wavy hair and, even with product, it will still go flat on the second day. Is that to be expected? Do you have any recommendations for styling product for volume and hold, plus heat protection? Do you think the newer one will perform better for my hair? Thanks!

krissy Conde: You should review the knot dr detangling hot air brush by conair I’m curious if it’s similar to this and it has detachable heads

mir f: What about the material of the barrel and bristles? I'm just worried about hair damage.

Kml Art: The one thing no one says about these stylers is that they are so loud! Seriously they can damae your hearing. Are there any stylers that aren't so loud but work well?

kimc555: ive been eyeing this new one up ... i havent bought one of these tools yet but i think it would be useful

Rachel Dee: I think these tools are starting to lose popularity after people are realizing they dry out and make the hair frizz too much.

Marcy Whitesell: Did u always enjoy doing your hair? You make styling look easy

Karen Kendall: Have you tried the new Revlon Root Booster??? I would love to see what you think about it…
