Why does your hair not have any wave to it? That'S what we're talking about today. So, let's get over the obvious reason why your hair is not waving or doesn't have any wave or curl to it. You don't have curly or wavy hair. You have pin straight hair: okay, you've got a hair type. That literally is like this. That just lays perfectly straight you're, naturally born with that hair pattern, that hair type totally fine, if you do have wavy, hair or curly hair. Naturally, obviously you have an advantage, but there's a lot of you who want to have waves or some sort of curl or texture, and your hair is super straight like this, but why isn't it doing this? Okay, there's a number of reasons. First of all, i've done like a bunch of videos on how to go from straight hair to wavy hair. First of all, it comes down to your haircut. Probably the most important thing out of all of it is the haircut that you have okay. So let's take this guy right here and let's move him out of the way, but i want to get a good close look at this. This mannequin head has fully straight hair: okay, there's no curl to this whatsoever. It'S the same exact thing as this, and this mannequin right here has fully straight hair. Now, how do we go about getting waves in this type of hair or why isn't it waving? So, let's say, for example, you have your hair layered like this. Okay. No, actually, it's not layered. It'S all one length hanging straight down. You'Ve got like a curtains type of haircut or something that just all is one length like this and you keep saying. Oh my god, you know i want my hair curly. I don't want to get a perm. I don't want to do anything, but it's you know i try to scrunch it and snap nothing happens. Well, let's, let's break that down. First of all, you need the right product and the best product that i would suggest is tidal. Wave. Okay, tidal wave is my number one selling product. It'S been reformulated, it's got better texture, better hold enhanced uh enhanced benefits to it. The the scent has been redone. It'S literally better than what it was before so tidal waves, an incredible spray for adding texture and helping assist with getting some sort of wave in your hair. The haircut, like i mentioned before, is super super important. What is important about a haircut when it comes to getting wavy hair? Well, you need to have your hair layered. Okay, if all of this hair from the top goes all the way down way all the way down one length: okay, meaning it doesn't stop here. It goes all the way down to the bottom. There is no layering whatsoever and it's just going to continually lay flat, no matter what you do, even if you got a perm what's gon na happen, you'll have some waves to it, but this is all just gon na lay flat like this, but it's gon na Be a little bit wavy! That'S cool! If you want that. But if you are looking for a style, okay, something that has a bit more texture, all right, something that you can scrunch and it has some volume and some movement to it. Then you're going to have to have layers and as i've mentioned in past videos, layering is a technique that is designed to remove weight. So you see when i bring this hair up all right when i bring his hair up like this you'll see it comes to a certain length and the length stops right here. It doesn't go all the way down. That means it's layered. So what that is going to do it's going to allow for the hair to be able to be a lot more free and not be so restricted when it comes to where it wants to wave and, as you can see already, let's just even take some tidal Wave and spray it right in this area right into here all right, and what i'm going to be able to do with this now normally, i would use water which i'll do right now, but i want to. I want to spray some tidal wave in there as well, so that's tidal, wave, here's some water and what i would normally do. If i'm trying to create some sort of wave or texture. I would simply, you know, take the hair, maybe uh curl it like so make little, pin curls and wrap the hair in like little circles. Then i would, i would air dry it or i would use a diffuser and i would scrunch it, but what i'm doing is i'm making little? You know creating something. That'S going to help make some waves in the hair right. I'M doing that right now and that's allowing me to uh dry it or in a way that's going to add something to it. So, as you can see there, there we go now if i were just to scrunch the hair like this meaning take my hand and scrunch down. Look what happened! Look at this. I already have some movement in through here. Okay, the hair looks like it's a little bit wavy or even has some curl to it literally. The reason that's able to happen is because there's layers in the hair, because i used the right product and i'm i was able to manipulate the hair to do something. It wouldn't be able to do if it was all the way one length and straight down and that's why, for example, this haircut right here yeah it's a bit shorter. You may not want your hair to look like this, but uh. You know. If you do want. You can see you can get a lot more wave and curl. Okay, and i know this looks like you know the famous uh psycho and murderer okay. I know what you're gon na say. It looks just like him, but on on on this mannequin right here, you could see richard ramirez. That'S who it is. I believe yes, i know this looks just like him uh, if you scrunch it like this, then you're able to get some wave and some more texture to the hair. Blazing Jaws: mini series suggestion: maybe you could go over the most common hair types and what they can do to achieve “x” style or look. I for one have really straight, thin (back is pretty thick though) and reallyyy soft asian hair and idk what to do with it or what style i can go for. I also have quite poofy sides and idk how to tame it. Any advice is GREATLYYY appreciated!!!
