Look nice, it had body and all of that, but it wouldn't grow past. A certain point. Hi loves. Welcome to my channel. My name is tamara, but you can call me tim. If you are new here, you should definitely consider subscribing and if you are a returning subscriber hello and thank you so much for coming back. So in today's video it's going to be a quick video, but i'm going to be sharing with you guys, five things that i do not do to my relaxed hair and i'm also going to be letting you know why you shouldn't do these things to your relaxed Hair, even okay, so the first thing that i do not do to my relaxed hair is, i don't use rubber bands on large portions of my hair and what i mean by that is. I don't use rubber bands to put my hair into ponytails, like i don't care if it's the brown rubber band that scratches or if it's the little black rubber bands do not use rubber bands to put your hair into a ponytail. I only use rubber bands. If i put my hair in two braids or something like that, and i need to put a little rubber band on the end to keep my braid from coming down - and i honestly don't like doing that. But i do just to keep my braid from coming down and i won't put the rubber band really tight. Even on my kids hair, i don't put the rubber bands really tight on their hair um or if i do certain styles, i won't use rubber bands unless i'm putting beads on the end. I don't put a lot of rubber bands all over their hair close to the root and the reason why is i used to use rubber bands to put my hair in a ponytail all the time i used to use those brown scrunch, those brown um tan rubber Bands that you can get in a pack to put my hair in a ponytail - and i kid you not. I had breakage exactly where i used to wear my ponytail, so the rubber band, after put wearing it for so long it was breaking my hair. So i would have pieces all around my perimeter that were kind of short, and it was because the rubber band was breaking my hair. Also. I prefer i prefer not to use rubber bands, because when you pull them out notice, they have hair all around them like it's breaking your hair and pulling your hair out every time you take it on and off so yeah. That is thing number one that i do not do to my relaxed hair that you shouldn't do to yourself say goodbye to rubber bands. Okay, we don't use rubber bands for ponytails all right. The second thing that i don't do to my relaxed hair is over moisturize. I do not over moisturize my hair one. I just do not like the look of over moisturized hair. I don't like the look of dry hair either. I like for my hair to look. You know shiny and healthy and like it's alive and moisturized, but i do not like the look of over moisturized hair over greased hair. When you over grease your hair, it can clog your scalp. It can prevent your hair from growing so learn how much grease your hair can handle, learn how much moisturizer your hair can handle and a lot of times it's not that the person is using too much grease or too much moisturizer. It could be. The moisturizer is too heavy for your hair texture, so do not over moisturize your hair. If you wear your hair down, you know you wanted to have a good bit of body to it. So don't over grease your hair and if you realize that you're not using a lot of grease, but your hair is still way down that may not be the product for you. You may need to find another product a product. That'S not so heavy! That'S not gon na weigh your hair down as much so yeah find the right product to moisturize your hair. Don'T over moisturize don't use products that are too heavy. I definitely don't and yeah. So that's number two: let's not over moisturize and make sure we're finding products that work with our hair texture, all right. Anything number! Three that i don't do to my relaxed hair. It may sound weird, but it's the guy, honest truth. I try my best not to comb my hair every day i try my best not to comb my hair every day. Low manipulation is a good thing. You guys growing up. I was always taught you to brush your hair every night. You need to comb your hair. Every day, that's definitely not true if you can find a way to maintain your hair without combing it every day. That is definitely a plus. So i do not comb my hair every day. If i can help it and if i'm, if i am coming my hair, like i'm, not doing a lot to it like, i may be doing a wrap and calming it down, but i'm not just calming coming alright moving on to thing number four, and that is, I do not relax my hair often, and this is a very big debate in the relaxed hair community. I know some people relax, often some people don't and um. I heard one lady say like it's better to relax. Often you don't have to. I don't. She said. If you relax more than like, i don't know yeah, but it's a debate in the relaxed hair community. I can't remember exactly what she said, but i don't relax my hair often and the reason why is just because i prefer not to when i relaxed my hair. More often, i had a lot more damage. My hair was a lot drier and yeah. My hair just wouldn't grow past a certain point. It looked nice um, it was dry, but it wasn't anything that i you know if i moisturized it, it looked nice. It had body and all of that, but it wouldn't grow past a certain point. It wasn't until i started scratching my relaxer that my hair grew past, a certain point. So, if you're having trouble with your hair growing past shoulder length, try scratching your relaxer. I promise you it'll work every time. This moves me also to the last thing that i'm going to share with you guys, and that is i don't let my ends get too bad. I do not let my ends get too bad and the reason why, if you let your ends, go too long without being trimmed, you will eventually have to cut off all of your progress. I have been there and done it y'all i have went like so i want to say like a year without clipping my ears taking care of my hair, and i thought i had gained so much length. I went to a salon and she had to cut off. So much of my hair and a lot of times we feel like our beautician, is doing too much when they tell us. We need a haircut, but it's probably because you haven't clipped your ends in a long time and a lot of the progress is now dead, because when you don't clip your ends, your ends will continue to split up up up up and that's going to be more Hair that needs to be cut off when you can just trim as you go, and do your best to try to keep your ends as healthy as possible. So it's not like a certain amount of months that i go like i need to clip my ends. Every three months, every four months, every two months - i don't do that um and i know they can be aggravating sharing tips and i don't have like an exact regimen, but my thing is: pay attention to your hair. Look in the mirror, pay attention to your hair. You can tell when your ends are poking out, like you can tell, when your hair is still wings dead, hair be real with yourself and let it go girl just cut it off, just cut it off girl. You would thank me later, like i was doing. If you haven't seen the video of me doing my hair like these, go back and watch it or if this video is up first to make sure you are subscribed to my channel to catch that video. But i was in the middle of doing a video. I was planning on going to a salon to get my ends. Clipped and my ends just looked too ridiculous, like i couldn't even wait, i just had to clip them, so that's the thing pay attention to your hair, your hair will let you know when it's time for your ends to be trimmed. Okay, pay attention to your hair to make sure your hair is thriving, to keep your hair healthy, to keep your hair growing and things like that. The main my biggest thing um is pay attention to your hair and be real with yourself. If your ends are dead. Girl, i have been there and done it with the ear repair, serum and all the conditioners to repair split ends like those are preventative treatments and preventative measures. I don't care what anyone says when your ends are dead. The only thing you can do is cut them off. It'S no such thing as bringing dead, hair back to life. All right loves, that's my rant for the day. I hope you all enjoyed this video. If you did give me a thumbs up, if you agree or disagree with anything leave me a comment below i love chit chatting with you all. AriesPassion: Great tips Tam ! I don’t use rubber bands either . They’ve always broke my hair and I don’t understand how I’m relaxed and color treated but I still have low porosity hair .. but I’m learning to moisturize properly. I deep condition on Sunday and by Wednesday I moisturize again if I have in braids . And that’s it . I relax every 4 months . Number 5 hit my soul . I’ve started over 4 times because I refused to clip my ends ..

darksound: You actually inspired me to go back to relaxed at the beginning of the year! I know not to put rubber bands on my hair especially with my thin strands but how do you feel about the ouchless bands? I use those for when I do buns for work.

Thaileah McPeters: Awesome relaxer tips like always ❤️ What do you suggest for those with under processed hair? My roots are completely relaxed but I don’t think I let it sit long enough because my ends still has the same texture.

Elaine clark: You are so right about trimming and being real with yourself. One thing I hate to see is when someone says their hair is so long but you can see straight through the ends. Just cut it!!!!! Your hair will feel thicker and so much better.

Sapphire Relaxed Hair: It's basically really knowing your hair. I did a video on this maybe a couple of years ago.. But you have to know what's best for your own hair and stop following trends stop using so many products that you can't keep up.. Only feed your hair what your hair likes and most importantly,.. relaxing your hair often will cause breakage and damage in your hair! I relax my hair twice a year, June and December.. and this works for me!.. it may not work for anyone else that's reading this but it does work for me.. Thank you ever kindly God-bless you

0tismadaline: How much moisture your hair can handle is very important ❤️

🎀Ms. Cherry🍒: Very helpful tips

Amy Volk: How long do you stretch your relaxer?

Ro Ro: Hi You always look good and today you look great. I currently natural and want to relax my hair but I am worry about fibriods to grow once getting it relax.
