Hello, everyone welcome back to my channel, so today's video is about Sid, she went swimming and her hair is extra dry from that chlorine and I just want to strengthen it back up and do some damage repair. So I'm going to be using the Carol's Daughter, all Carol's Daughter products and the first product I'm going to use is the almond milk daily damage repair, sulfate free shampoo. No, this is not a sponsored video, but I will be trying a lot of new products on her hair because it's time to let her hair grow. So I put that first lather in her hair because you got to do two um shampoos and I like this, one is because it's for extremely damaged hair, as, of course, I put a relaxer in her hair that causes great damage. So this is um with almond milk, aloe, butter and Shea oil, and it just strengthens and protects hair and restores the softness of it there. It is again that's the second lather and it lather when I say it: lather it lathered, but for everybody, that's commenting and said I made the wrong choice of put in a relaxer and Sydney's hair. That'S your opinion and I allow all opinions and we have good conversation in my comments, but that's your opinion and that sucks, you know to be honest, but so now I'm going to be using the Carol's Daughter, goddess, strength, strength and lift system. It'S a conditioner! It'S for weak, breakage, prone hair when you have a relaxer, your hair is prone to breakage and I just want to avoid all of the weak hair anything that causes damage. So this has castor oil Ginger black cumin seed, and it's going to help because I'm trying to grow Sydney's hair because she wants it to grow out and I want it to um be strengthened. So this whole line is just for to keep Sydney's hair safe. Basically, so I'm just going to keep that in detangle it while it's in - and I kept it in for like 10 minutes and you can put it even under a dryer if you want to, but then I rinsed it out and then I'm going to use that Same line, the goddess, strength, strength and length, and I'm going to use the Divine strength leave in milk and it's four week, hair breakage prone hair, and I honestly thought it was going to be kind of Milky. And I thought it was gon na. Like help. Um put some weight on her hair, but this is not what I was looking for. It'S great if you want to use um like for a silk press or something like that, but I wanted a little weight added to her hair, so yeah. Now I'm going to be using my Old, Faithful oil, it is a heat protectant, but I love the shine that it brings to um her hair. So I'm going to use it just for the shine and it like helps with frizz. So I'm going to use a lot of that because I just love it and then today's video is really me styling, her hair and the Bantu Knots, because you guys in my comments and my subscribers - and I thank you guys for subscribing and watching of those. It'S a lot of you that watch my videos that are not subscribed. So if you like what you see and you're intrigued in some way just go ahead and subscribe, you know because I see it in the Analytics y'all watch, but you don't subscribe, we're stopping you but anyway. So I'm going to use this Nairobi wrapping um lotion and I'm just going to try to do a bantu knot. This is my first time doing it so bear with me. This is not really a tutorial, I'm just showing you the steps that I use and the products that I'm using on her hair um. So this is all trial and error for me, if you guys noticed that I did something different. These were kind of hard, not gon na lie in GL, not gon na lie. It was kind of hard um Sydney really didn't like it, because it hurt her, but everything hurts her. So um I'm just trying to find ways and Heat free hairstyles, because that's the way to keep um to avoid damage and to keep your hair strengthened and to grow healthy hair is to not use heat as much so um. This is you guys, suggested it and I'm like okay. Let me try I've seen some great bantu knots. People wear bantu knots as Styles and then they take them out to wear like a curly style. I don't know what I was really expecting here, but um I'm just going to use that rapid foam Nairobi because it adds shine and it's going to help um the curls stay, bouncy, bouncy and flowy. That'S what I want here. So some of them didn't really stay. So I got a Bobby a hairpin and that really helped with everything help them to stay um raveled and they went and unraveled. So that's what I did but like I was saying people in the comments that are saying you made the wrong choice. You made the wrong choice. Why would you do that and listen? I knew I made the right choice by um this hairstyle along. Yes, she was wincing. Yes, it still hurt her um. I don't ever see me doing. Sydney'S hair without her um hurting her head in some way because her scalp is sensitive so, but I can say, while I was doing her hair instead of her crying the whole time, we were talking about school, her projects in school. We were talking about because we watched we went to the movies to see Avatar this weekend we watch Hocus Pocus one and Hocus Pocus 2, where she was asking me questions about um. I forget the exact question, but it I was just amazed because she never sat down and had a conversation with me about something else other than her hair other than how long is it taking how long? How much more do you have to go ma? It'S hurting me: we were having like a real conversation and that never happens for us, so you made a bad choice by saying that I made it by choice. You made a bad choice by clicking on this video and mine. Is somebody else's business? Okay. I love all types of conversation. I love everything, but you sometimes you guys go too far. Y'All go too freaking far, but um. Let me Focus. I wanted this to be a heat free, hairstyle y'all, but before she went to bed I did um blast some cool air on her hair after the style, and I put a silk Bonnet on. That'S what I did here: y'all careful because Sydney's like it hurts mom. You can make this some apart them, so I got ta. Take the hair pins out now and her hair looks good. It looks like she was um. She was a little anxious, the little ones. Okay, that's what I wanted to say. I wanted to do this. Hairstyle like um little bantu knots and big just have a variety of curls, but Sydney wasn't going for that, and so I made him kind of bigger. I should have just made them small, because the bigger ones were not dry. They didn't dry, my poor baby didn't dry so and now I know to if I'm going to do heat freestyles to start them on Saturday, so she can have a full day of drying Sunday and then Monday. They can be ready for school and nice and dry. But some of them were dry, the thicker ones at the top and in the middle back weren't dry. So I took the blow dryer and I had to do what I do because she had to be to school in like 10 minutes. So but it's so cute. I could see the vision it would have been so cute and curly if they would have dried so she's. Looking at it like. What'S going on, I got the blow dryer and then I had the idea of like just twisting the hair in the curl or like a Shirley Temple curl and then blow drying it just to keep a nice curl and elongate it a little bit and just to Make her happy and satisfy her. You know, and I didn't want her to go to school, wet hair and then it would have frizzed up in a way that I did we didn't like. So I tried to um control it a little bit. Uh manipulate it in a way that it was not frizz up. So that's what I'm doing here and then, when she gets back from school today, I'm just going to take those curls and I'm going to bantu knot them again. So tomorrow they can be fully dry and curl the way that we want it to. So that's what I'm doing here um. I just thank you guys for watching. I think the people that really support me and Sydney's hair journey - and I thank you guys so much. I thank you for your feedback, your positive feedback. I know it all. The feedback is not going to be what I like or positive, but I expect negativity because it's sad that's what YouTube is, but when you guys go below the negativity level like deep down in the dirt is just you know, I won't even block you guys. I won't even erase it unless it's really crazy, because I know my subscribers every time. I look in my comments that they get y'all together and I love it. You know but um yeah, like I said when Sydney comes home, I'm gon na um wrap it back up in the Bantu Knots and tomorrow it should be way better. I'Ll, probably do a short showing you guys, um or put it on my community tab. A picture of how her hair turned out um. She really wasn't feeling it, but you know I was just like it's gon na it's be. I thought it was cute. It wasn't what we expected it to be, but it wasn't ugly and it wasn't something that I'm like Ugh. Why did I do this? This was a waste of time because it wasn't. You know it's just a minor setback for a major comeback. You know, but I thank you guys for watching if you have not subscribed yet, please subscribe hit the notification Bell. I don't know if it works or not some people say it works. Other people say I didn't get the notification. Um just try your look and um. Let'S chat about this hairstyle tell me some tips that I should have done or that I should do the next time, but I love the shine on this um. The curls would have been bomb. If I would have let it stay a little longer and then she was tore up about that comb. I don't even know why I pulled it out. I was just trying to fluff the roots and hide the parts a little bit, but that's it she's on her way to school, and I thank you guys for watching have a great day. Bye.

Khadijah A: In my opinion relaxers don’t do any good to our hair. Yes, it’s more “manageable” but our hair is it’s strongest when it’s in its natural state. I think watching you relax her good natural hair was triggering for a lot of ppl who overcame the relaxers. However, she was crying every time you did her hair so to each their own.

black queen: I would've simply take her to stylist for a month and watched carefully to mimick exactly what they do. But I pray that relaxer doesn't eat away at that full head of GORGEOUS thick and healthy hair

Lisa Jacobs: What did I tell you? Don’t listen to that negativity. You did what’s best for your daughter and I’ve seen her in less pain. ❤

Emme29: Not a bad choice at all. You'll just have to find what works to help keep her hair moisturized and retain her length. You've been doing a super job!!!❤ And no tears!!!❤

bye kitty: I like that this channel is basically you trying to find different ways to style your daughter's natural hair while she is also tender headed. This could really help out people like her who are trying to find easy natural styles that aren't too much when doing hair becomes stressful. I think that with your encouraging and positive attitude on hair she will grow up to love her hair even more. Really love watching you guys natural hair journey and this style came out so nice! ❤

Snowblaque 1: You didn't make a bad choice. You was just doing the right thing for Sydney. Her bantu knots are so cute. It's nice to see her getting her hair done and not hurting so much.

Curl Mvrck: The bantu knots were cute. I think she'll be cute with leaving bantu knots across the top and doing the curls in the back . I'm so glad y'all are able to bond during hair time now

Carmencita Davis: If they are not walking in your shoes have to get up every morning trying to comb your daughter's hair when your daughter is tender-headed and she can't help that, they shouldn't have anything to say with what you do with your daughter because it's your business, and if you felt comfortable putting the relaxing in her hair it was nothing wrong with it because you are a professional hair cosmetologist so you definitely knew what you were doing, and I'm sure you're going to take care of Sydney's hair so her hair will be safe with the relaxer

Vee Daisy: Sydney looks much happier and more comfortable doing her hair. It looks healthy and full ... you did well by her

Marlene King: Hey!!! Just wanted to make a suggestion. When twisting the hair, twist it all the way down to the end and then wrap it around into the bantu knot. It will give it the spiral curl I think you’re looking for. Also, you made an excellent choice to make doing hair fun for the both of you.❤

charisa ingram: Soooooo cute! I'm so happy for you and Sidney . As a mom of a 10 year old girl, hair time is "tea" time. A time for them to say what's on their mind. I'm glad you guys were able to do that!

Myra 's 2Blėssėd2BEEStrëssëd: I personally don't agree with children getting relaxers BUT that's my opinion... I do love that you care for your child and it shows. To many parents don't care and I just love the fact that you care. So ima keep watching you do her hair.

LonnieB: Relaxers may seem good at first but eventually the hair always breaks due to dryness (overtime will stunt growth & cause scalp issues too). Tenderheaded ppl would do better with protective styles that don't require daily brushing. Maybe try small twists or mini braids (her real hair/not fake) & leave them in 4 to 6 weeks at a time. It will help lock in moisture & promote length retention. Best of luck

VolumeP.: You can tell how tender headed she is towards the end I am too and asked for a relaxer at 13 because I couldn't stand the pain of having my hair braided. People have no idea what that's like. If my mom was like you and took her time and was careful I'd be better off so I appreciate how much you care for her and are looking for a solution.

Megan Patterson: This looks so good!!!! YOU know what’s best for her, mama!!! You are doing so amazing and you are such an inspiration to me and so many others!!! I hope I can be as strong as you are for Sydney with my own children one day!!! sending you so much love!!! ❤❤

jblovly: I’m not going to lie to you, I would’ve loved to see her natural hair flourish even more, but it’s ultimately YOUR choice and no one else’s. She may decide to transition back to natural when she’s older or she’ll maintain the relaxer. Regardless it doesn’t matter. If you haven’t looked into the Revair, I’d look into that. It’s good for natural and relaxed hair.

Wendy White: " You made a bad choice"..... hell no you didn't. You've always done your best n you continue to do your best.

Ash Bryles: For the longest I figured Syd would have a relaxer, a cut or locs soon. I feel so bad seeing her in pain, so this makes it so much easier to bare, I'm sure. Beautiful girl, don't worry about these people. You are Her Mama!! Blessings

deecharming: It's good for your daughter and you. My hair isn't as thick but I dreaded getting my hair done a a child. My first relaxer was at 12 years old and I didn't turn back until 28. My hair stayed long with and without it.

Tee Charee: Hey hun, if you haven't already try oiling and massaging peppermint oil in her hair before you start your maintenance. My daughter's were both tender headed and it was agony for them. This was 20 something years ago but it really soothed their scalps and made the process easier. They're adults now but they still use it. You are doing a good job trying different methods.

Michele Adamson: Don't let other people's opinion dictate how you handle YOUR daughters hair, As a mom of a daughter with extremely thick hair I truly understand why you chose to relax her hair. I too relaxed my daughter's hair two years ago because I couldn't deal with the thickness of her hair and her crying every day when I did her hair, it actually ended up taking some of her hair out and I had to let it go back to it's natural state and braided it up. Her hair has since grew back, but she does not want her hair relaxed and I respect her decision, but it was a lesson learned for us.

Mrs. O: Hi Dear. I hope you all are well. Next time, two strand twist the sections and then do the bantu knot; this helps with drying and definition. I do this on my natural hair all the time and it comes out great this way!

Laterra Allen: You're so talented with your daughter's hair - not sure how anyone else can tell you that you made a bad choice with your ability to keep up with protecting her hair. Do what you need to do for her. My daughter has hair that is thick like hers and she is tender-headed as well so I completely understand the pain (hers and yours). I wish we were neighbors- my baby would have a weekly appt with you!!! God Bless!!! Her bantu twist out (or whatever you want to call it) turned out SO adorable and her hair looks super healthy .

Sisima13: There’s nothing wrong with being relaxed. I was relaxed all my life until I decided to go natural in 2020 because I had nothing better to do during quarantine and also because I wanted to get to know my natural hair ☺️. Relaxed hair is just as much work as natural hair, the only difference is manageability. That’s why they say do what’s best for you . By the way, Sid is soooo adorable ❤️

M J: You're doing a wonderful job with your daughter's hair. Next time she goes swimming, make sure to put oil in her hair then braid it up. The oil will help a great deal, and act as a barrier. Also, get a wide tooth wooden comb to help detangle her hair. Take care! MJ

Kitten Sandals 🐈🩴 a.k.a WAB: Going to a genuine pro would've avoided all of this. Sometimes parents make mistakes. That's okay. It's just unfortunate the child has to pay for that. I would've just kept the child in protective style knowing her hair was hard to manage. Protective styles are for everyone.

Karen Jamerson: I remember when Sydney was much younger and she expressed her feelings opinions and desire to cut her hair off. You aloud her feelings to matter and compromised by shaving the sides and back of her hair off. The top was left to still style also as part of the compromise and agreement. That decision was so supportive and harmless. I see this decision very much the same. Your ultimate goal as a mother is protection. You are the one who have to watch your daughter go through agony when it’s time for her to get her hair done so if relaxing her hair made it somewhat more pleasurable then so be it. Her hair is not being neglected at all. ❤️✌

Linda Smith: Queen I had 6 kids 3 boys and girls. 2 of my girls was like your little princess I relax their hair so we can have a happy time together ❤️ You are doing a awesome job

SimplyMe: When I had relaxed hair I wore chunky braid outs (curlers on the end.) Fast, fluffy, easy next day prep. Thank you for sharing your child with us, however we need to remember she is your child. Don't take others saying you made a mistake to heart.

luna rose: Although relaxed, you still have to keep her hair braided up, corn rows or a top bun. You don't need to put lots of braids but just like 2 or 3. It gets really unhealthy if it is worn down too much because it gets manipulated more so that it can look a certain way each day. You made a good choice.

Tonya Williams: It's your daughter and you just do the best you can. Practice makes perfect. I love yawls channel. Tell her I get it cause I'm 65 and still tenderheaded. Such is the life of a black woman

Jacklyn Biles: Just happy to see another video! Love watching y’all grow and teaching us over the years!

1ycj: Honestly, I am so happy for you and your child. Knowing what u both were going through! Less pain for her and less strain for u. I’m proud that u took that step that I think were best for the both of u. Bravo to u and Sydney

Lavenda Jarrell: Her hair it's beautiful. You can also do a protein treatment. It's usually done about 2/3 weeks after a relaxer. The point of the treatment is to restore some of the natural protein the relaxer removes from your hair. Besides that you are doing to terrific job with her hair. Love those batu knots

Autumn Alexandra: I've watched you and Sydney grow together as I've grown with my daughters... you continue to treat her and her hair with love my dear....do what is best for you and ignore the nonsense and/or ignorance of others. Thank you for your wonderful content and being an inspiration to mothers and daughters everywhere. Much love from Buffalo, NY... you got this sis ❤️

Diana Benson: She has the most adorable little face, she reminds me alot of my granddaughter. You can tell by the way she winces that she is very tender headed and I don't blame you for putting a relaxer on her hair, a mom will do whatever it takes (unless it's illegal) to make her babies comfortable and happy.

Ossie R: You’re taking good care of her hair and that’s what matters wether relaxed or natural. I didn’t get a relaxer until I was in my 20’s and could pay for it.

Mikesha Wearing: For years I just thought my baby had a bad grade of hair until I started doing my research. I saw a video on how to retain length. I started trimming her hair every month once a month. She was relaxed but I only relaxed it every 4 months and if I felt it wasn’t necessary on the 4th month I didn’t relax it until another 4 months to stay on the 4 month track. I also kept a protective style in her head and the single crochet was a heaven send bc I couldn’t do hair to save my life but I had people thinking I was a stylist with that method. With the single crochet I would go through her scalp and oil it weekly with a mixture of oils mainly black Jamaican castor oil and jojoba oil. I also used that same oil and go through the weave and oil her actual hair focusing on the ends mainly. Her scalp was the healthiest it had ever been and her hair was flourishing. We were so proud of it.❤️❤️

Sammy: She has such pretty skin and a beautiful smile. I hope she can get thru one hair styling session without crying out in pain. The hair looks thick and healthy.

Carmen De Long: Adorable! The operative word is your "choice" Syd is your child. You have her best interest at heart!

Roseline Reynolds: I just went back to relaxed hair after 9 years of being natural. Soft foam rollers have been a life saver...you should try it.

WineGlass AndChill: Happy you made the choice for her❤ She did sooooo much better and that all that count

Libre Timmons: Yes ma'am, folks should mind their business. You are doing a great job with your daughter and her hair. Love your videos!

Kellie W.: Using a conditioner with protein every wash is essential for relaxed hair and heat helps to keep the relaxed hair and new growth blended for less shedding as it grows out. Bantu knots (and rod sets) are notorious for taking forever to dry so it looked cute but a braid out or twist out would've dried faster. But great job! I feel you on the relaxer.

Just Me: That sweet honey bun sat so patiently through the whole hair do process. Aww. ❤️ Nice mother and daughter video.

Thomasina Townsend: I'm new to your channel but I want to Thank you. My daughter's hair is exactly like your daughter's hair. Her scalp is also very sensitive as well. It takes me the full weekend to detangle, wash and style. I don't have much strength and cant stand long due to health reasons. My daughter would cry so hard. I showed her your video and we permed her hair this past weekend. I never seen I daughter smile while getting her hair done until now. Thank you so much

Jonsey Jones: 2 strand twist work on my daughter's hair. It dries faster. She goes to school with twist in Monday and Tuesday. We take out twist for a twist out the rest of the week ‍♀️ You can use headbands with a twist out. You can sweep the hair up in and updo. My daughter loves the flexibility.

jilesnstyle: I made that same mistake when my daughter was in high school. She begged and begged. That was the first and last time. Now she's natural. My mother did the same with me when I was younger because I begged her. So we all live and learn. I can tell her hair is thick and is still beautiful. Your caring for her hair and those kitchen moments are priceless. You're an excellent Mommy! ❤️

Monique Writes: i love that you love your daughter so much. I don’t think the people who are saying their opinion mean any harm. For me as an adult, I look back on my hair journey as a child. I had beautiful long natural hair that was down my back as a youth all I needed was a pressing comb and I would be good!!! but then my dad’s gf permed my hair and it didn’t go passed my chin. I wish that my parents had the hand that you do here will with your daughter. They were rough with my relaxed hair and would apply the per from root to tip EVERY SINGLE PERM. They were doing the best they could but being a woman or young girl, hair is everything. I have 4c hair and perms were not right for me and broke my hair. I was also tender headed with and without a perm. I think the trick with any hair the main ingredient is love and respect. I hope my comments were insightful and graceful to the readers.

lady E J: She's so adorable and her hair is looking good. You did what was best for you guys She's precious and I think you are a awesome mother

Nicole Marie: I am excited to see how much her hair grows. You did a great job. I love the curls.

Maryanns_space: Nice job mom on caring for your daughters hair! I agree…less heat or low heat, conditioning, low manipulation, moisturizing and trimmed ends is key! Whether its permed or not! Just be careful with any styles that put too much tension on the scalp bcuz it causes traction alopecia.

kwan southerland: Your daughter Her Hair A collective choice! Sidney is beautiful either way. Love the channel and the tips you share.

Natina Powell: Her hair looks so healthy and thick! I might try the hairstyle on my daughter's hair

michelle d: I love your videos. Sydney reminds me of myself when I was a little girl. Love you guys

XoSiedahXo: Girl I’m thinking of relaxing my daughters hair. Her hair is soooo thick and I think I can manage it better with a relaxer

Donna Smith: You are doing a fantastic job mama!! Love to watch all of these new styles for Syd!!

GICutie Tee: Mielle organics has some amazing products too. It’s for our hair it’s created by a black woman. I love the Rosemary & Mint collection to strengthen my hair I also love her rice water collection for that too. Her leave in conditioners & twist creams are bomb too.

Kim J's Place: Awe she’s growing up so fast. Look at all that beautiful hair!

Daniela Pearson: Her hair is beautiful. My granddaughter swims a lot so she only gets a relaxer 2x a year. My only advice is try not to mix your products. Give her hair a chance to get accustomed to the process. Stay encouraged mom. We appreciate your videos.

Evadne Music Young: You made the choice best for you and your daughter! The relaxer makes it easier to manage

CharLyne Singletary: My mother started relaxing our hair when we were very young. I'm 49 and the only time I started to lose hair after all of these years was about 5 years ago because of medication. Alot of people believe that relaxers take your hair out and that's not true. Like any other hairdo it has to be taken care of. Even if you don't leave the house you absolutely must moisturize your hair every single day. My relaxed hair was always passed my shoulders and my sister's would grow waste length. Everyone has to do what they like. My 10 year old doesn't want straight hair and I allowed her to choose.

Qylon: You made the right choice for you and your daughter . Amazon has swim caps that fit perfectly. Not sure if you used one this time, but it may help next time she goes swimming

SimpleeChelle: She is growing up so fast....I remember when she wanted her hair shaved....Her hair is beautiful

Godsfavor: So cute ! I really don’t see any damage. You did a wonderful job boo!

Syddin Pretty: When you’re rinsing chlorine, you absolutely need to use a clarifying shampoo which is most likely going to contain sulfates. You also should make sure her hair is wet and add some conditioner BEFORE she enters the water. Just my take as a pro. Don’t listen to the haters. I’d recommend getting some higher quality products though..

Wilniesha Smith: You should get a hooded dryer or a hood for your hand-held blow dryer. Indirect heat is better on the hair. Maybe try roller setting her hair, but you will still need that indirect heat to set the styles. You could also try braid outs; still needing the indirect heat to set the styles. Great job

deirdre thompson: Your daughter is beautiful and trying different techniques are fine as long as you protect her hair and she feels confident with the styles.

Ty Brown: I had to relax my daughters hair as well. I was not happy about it but she cried every time I did her hair no matter how gentle I was with it. I continue to keep her hair in protective styles for convenience and for growth. You did what was best for your child so to hell with all the negative comments.

Cynthia Rhue: Mom.. Your doing a great job..!!! Your a mom training your daughter the reality of it all...

Janine McDonald: I Love all the beautiful different styles …Cnt wait to see how the curls would look if the knots were in longer.. Hey Syd ❤

Carmine: Try the dennman brush! For detangling, it’s much less painful than wide tooth comb in my opinion. Might make styling easier (I have thick natural 4c hair; occasionally tender headed).

JusTazzi: 1. Love your videos. 2. I personally use pattern products and for someone who's experimented with alot of haircare products I personally feel there really good. There mask and transition mask you might like and smells so good. I personally do double strand twist you can style it any kind of way and leave it in for about a week or two depending on the person. But the knots were cute though.

Connie Taylor: A stylist told me to use a light oil on my hair. A little of that protectant should work well.. My relaxed hair gets extremely dry. I also use really good conditioners (either a cholesterol or CPR by Motions if its still available). Good luck!!

JMocha 74: Hello! You didn't make a bad choice. I did what was best for my daughter like you did with your daughter. I have a suggestion: The only way I could get my daughter to wear the bantu knots or the curls. I would either braid or twist her hair in the front. I also did the squares using the rubber bands. She really loved her hair then and didn't have a problem at all wearing curls.

La Joyce Morales: So cute! I love it. I would love to see you use the old school pink/black sponge rollers on her hair. I bet it will turn out so cute.

Abbz: I think it would make things a little easier if you section her hair while washing / styling it. I normally section my hair in 6 or 4 sections and it makes things much easier.

Ardashia Peay Brown: I had a relaxer til I was 24. Long, thick, and healthy hair. So continue to do what you need to for you and your baby. For swimming, I would throw a couple braids in it or swim cap and a deep conditioning. Hair was just fine.

Lizabeth Shelberg: Sydney is beautiful! Don't listen to the negativity! You did a great job!

Nathalie Wasembeck-Green: You know what is best for YOUR baby girl! Sydney's hair is always gorgeous no matter what!!

Antoinette: People will never learn when it comes to other people kids keep your opinions to your self

Beauty thee McCovery way: Relaxing your hair isn't damaging. You just have to find the balance with the products, health, and treatment of the hair. Protein and moisture is key.

Victoria Lake: Do not feel bad. I was natural for 8 years. During quarantine I went and got my hair relaxed. You are doing the best that you can for your child. All hair is work no matter how you keep it.

Micheleh2o: What a cutie she is! You're doing a great job taking care of her hair. Chlorine dries it out no matter what, it's good that you're staying on top of it.

Alicia Sha: Your daughter has beautiful hair I don’t judge any parent that have to relax their daughters hair you probably have a busy schedule and it’s not easy doing our kind of hair. I felt guilty relaxing my daughters hair at the age of 4 1/2 so much hair was coming out because it was natural when I relax did her hair began to grow long it was much easier for her and me…about your daughters hair when you did the Bantu knots I lwould dry the hair first alittle just to get out the dampness and then use the moose and that probably would’ve dried some of her hair because her hair is very thick… a hooded dryer works best !..good luck more hairdos for your daughter

Soul Train: You did what's best for you & Syd! Folks have forgotten that you don't get to have an opinion where you have no responsibility! Also, spray her hair with leave in conditioner before getting in the pool. I used to go to pool 3x per week & it took a while to combat the dryness.

Nikki Natalia: Since she is relaxed be sure to do an egg protein treatment at least once a month to keep the hair shaft strong. And a deep conditioning with every wash. Her hair will be fine. ❤

L Woods: You made the right choice for you and your daughter. No need to apologize. I believe, once you deep condition and keep her hair moisturized it will continue to be nice, thick, and long.

M. Gabrielle: Another style to try: half up & half down…1. Braid the front and flat iron the back, 2. Flat twist the front into a ball/ bun & do a twist out in the back. Or jumbo twist connects using rubber bands all over up into a ball/ bun at the top

Janita Davis: Dominique forget what other people say you do what's best for you and Sydney I think it's wonderful because you know what you're doing so keep doing it girl

Nomie Kurta♡: You're a really good, sweet mom ❤

ThePrettyNikkii: My 7 year old daughter is super duper tender headed and I put a texturizer in her hair and the outcome was better but her ends are dry. I enjoy your videos because they help me from one mom to another.

Tammy Lopez: It’s too cute !! You did a good job!!! Forget about the haters , they don’t matter!!!!❤❤❤❤

NJoy621: Your baby, your choice!! You are generous enough to share her journey and your tips along the way….ignore the negativity. Regarding her wet Bantu knots, I’m wondering if your Revair dryer would have worked to dry the knots before you undid them?

DakingDT: “You made a bad choice” indeed you did, at the end of the video I can see her starting to cry, we all make mistakes some people might hate on me for this but we have to keep stuff 100% like I’m not just going to lie to you and just say “ hell no you didn’t make a bad choice you did great” no next time just think smarter

ladytashonda: Just a suggestion for her next wash day add a deep conditioning treatment to help with strengthen and moisturizing. Your deep conditioning could be the same that you use in your own natural hairstyle.

Lovebeingblack: New sub here! love how you take care of your babies' hair.☺

Cookie: You didn't make a bad choice. You did what's best for you and your daughter. My daughter has similar hair texter and it's been many times I wanted to put a relaxer on my daughter hair. Your daughter can still achieve her hair goals with a relaxer. Maybe you can try flexi rods or rollers to get the curl you want. And I use hair grease on my daughter hair to help with moisture. Lately I been using carols daughter mimosa hair honey shine pomade. A little goes a long way and it's not too heavy on your hair it melts into you hair nice.

Tanisha A'niece: Heyy great job! Try doing some connects into a donut bun! I think she would love it! I do it on my daughter hair in between her getting braids.. took like an hours Start to finish..

Ashley Altmangg: It’s cute! I would leave my daughters front up knots up and leave the sides and bk down and the curls would be cute
