All right family, as you all know, I have my own brand of homemade aloe vera hair growth oil, and that is what I'm going to be using today as my hot oil treatment for my wash day routine. So this is a bottle of my aloe vera hair growth oil. So all I'm doing is I'm going to use this bowl, I'm going to take the whole bottle and empty it here, and I'm gon na pop it into the microwave for about 20 seconds just to heat it up a little bit to apply it to my scalp. This bottle of oil is a mixture of over 16 essential and carrier oils for those of you who don't want to use your bottle of aloe vera all to do this, how old treatment I encourage you to use either castor oil, olive oil or grape seed oil. All right family, so I have my all ready: let's go ahead and get to my hair, so family. This is my hair y'all. It'S been at least a week and a half since I um put my hair up in these braids, so I'm just gon na go ahead and take them out. As you can see, I have a little bit of new growth and some you know some roughness going on anyway. I'M just gon na go ahead and take these braids out. These are actually not braids. These are flat twists, so I'm gon na go ahead and take them out and I'm going to be walking you through my entire wash day routine. As I said, these are flat twists and sometimes if this was a hairstyle, I would do this and then take the twist out and wear my hair like that. But this was actually a protective style for my wigs. So, as you can see, the twists are old and I have a lot of new growth. So it's not going to look good in a hairstyle. So anyway, I'm just taking my twist out here, um trying my best to be a little gentle and family for those of you who have followed me for a while. You have seen the transition for lack of better word in my hair. But let me tell you, it looks a lot better. I have been using this new method that I talked to you all about washing my hair. Every week or every two weeks I've been leaning more towards a week and a half because I'm pretty busy um. I have been pretty busy here in the last few weeks, so I'm not able to do it every single week, so it has been mostly every week and a half or every two weeks, all right family, but that's fine as long as you're doing it. At least two to three times a month, that is the goal. The goal is not to keep our hair in protective styles or keep it dirty for months at a time that is not healthy and it's not going to help your hair grow. So anyway, all of the braids are out. I have a cute little afro going and my hair is, I don't know how you say it: y'all, it's Virgin Hair. There is no heat damage. Perm damage, nothing. This is all natural hair. So with that said, you all know that when I do my hair at home myself, I always like to section it off detangle it braided or twisted up into three or four sections and then wash it. But when I go to the salon, they do what they do and they normally don't wash my hair braid it up or twist it up, but it's much much easier when you're doing it yourself, because we all know natural hair is a lot of work and it Can get tangled really quickly so the easiest way that I found to do this is to section my hair off and, as I said, braid it up or twist it up. So that is all I'm doing here. I'M just going through and I'm combing through my hair is a lot shorter now, so it's easier to do and I can do it much much faster, which believe it or not. I kind of enjoy natural hair, as I keep saying, is a lot to deal with, especially when you have really coarse hair um. It'S it's just a lot. It'S a workout, but the fact that my hair is, I guess, shorter. Now it makes it much much easier to deal with so anyway. I just went ahead and detangled my entire hair. Now I'm gon na go ahead and section it off and further detangle it and then put it into smaller sections and braid it up. So I'm just using a spray bottle with some water so that I can detangle my hair, because the goal is to make sure that your hair is completely detangled before you twist it up or braid it up that way. When you go to wash it, it's actually going to be clean versus. If it's not detangled, it's also going to make your life much much easier when you go to take the braids out after you wash your hair, alright. So that is all I'm doing here and, as you can see here, as I'm combing, my hair, you can actually see the exact length. But again I soon as I let it go. It shrinks right back up and it looks like my hair is actually shorter than what it is but anyway, and that is besides the point. The goal for this journey is Health, not length all right and I'm kind of glad that I'm doing this video later in the year almost early in the year, because I feel like we can all start fresh with this journey. I guess basically dedicate the whole year to caring for our hair, so anyway, I'm moving on to washing my hair and I'm gon na. Do this the old school way all right, so I'm just using my tub and a pan to wash my hair. So all I'm doing here is at first I'm wetting, my hair. As you can see it's braided into four sections. This makes it easier for me to wash it. I can wash my scalp, and I can also get my hair very clean this way. So I just got it wet, and now I'm using my shampoo to you know, go through it for the first time making sure to get my scalp making sure to get my ends, making sure to just you know wash my hair as if it was open. But we all know wash your natural hair open by yourself. It'S a lot of work. It'S a lot, a lot of work. So again I'm moving on to my conditioner. You didn't really see it here in this video, but I did use a lot of conditioner. It only looks like I used a little bit, but I used a lot. I did it repeatedly and then I'm gon na go ahead and rinse it out all right. So I'm all done I'm using my towel to pat dry. It I'm not drying it completely and I'm not using a blow dryer to dry it, because I'm gon na go downstairs and use our aloe vera oil to saturate my entire hair and then braid it back up. This is how I do my weekly washes. So, as you can see here, my hair is still wet, so I'm just going through Section by section, taking the braids out and then using my oil, my aloe vera oil, to get it on my scalp and on the rest of my hair and I'm massaging it In as I do this, this feels really really good and because the oil is um mint base, it has like a minty smell to it. It not only feels good, but it gives it this, like tingling sensation on your scalp to circulate or to make your blood flow better, and it also gives you this fresh, clean, minty smell. That is what I love about my aloe vera oil. So anyway, I'm just going on to the next section here doing it in the back doing the same process taking the braids out, as you can see, the hair is still wet. I do this on wet hair because when the hair gets dry, it's harder to deal with so again, I'm grabbing my oil and rubbing it on my scalp making sure to massage it in a few times, and it feels so so good y'all and then I'm making Sure to get my ends and the rest of my hair, it feels amazing and then once I do that I grab my comb I come through, but you can see here how easy it is to comb through my hair versus if it wasn't detangled - and you don't Want to use a detangling brush to do this part. You also don't want to use a fine tooth comb. You always want to have a wide tooth comb, because when your hair shrinks, it basically gets curlier, and that is very, very difficult to comb through with a fine toothed comb or a detangling brush, so always use your wide tooth comb for this portion. Alright, so I'm on to my last one here, it feels really really good y'all. My scalp feels clean. My hair feels good and, as you can see here, I'm using the rest of my oil in the bowl to just you know: saturate my hair with the oil get my scalp again get the ends of my hair, get everything my hair feels clean and you can See here that that my hair is thick and as I was telling you, there is no split ends, there is no damaged ends. This is all raw natural hair and I feel like I'm starting over and I'm glad I'm starting over with you all. So you can see my processes, you can see the the products and procedures that I use for my hair and you can also see the progress in your hair, especially using my hair products, all right family. So I am done. As you can see. My entire hair is saturated with the oil. The thing with my oil is: it's not heavy, so you're not going to be dripping with oil, it soaks into the hair, but I will advise that at least the first night after you do this, like oil treatment use a pillowcase or a hair. Um tie. That'S going to protect your bedding or your pillowcase because it can get kind of messy, but after the first night, you're good. You are good and the reason I say that is this is an actual oil treatment, an actual hot work treatment. This is not you know. Just oiling your scalp or putting a little bit of oil between your braids. This is an actual oil treatment. So it's going to be messy. I don't care what kind of oil you use, but the great thing about my aloe vera oil is that it is light. It'S not going to feel heavy, it's not going to feel you know like product build up you're, not even going to feel it on your hair. After a few days, I actually wanted to wear it in this cute little ponytail, because I was feeling myself my hair felt clean, it felt bouncy and it felt so healthy, but I decided I have a lot going on. I don't want to have to you know, continue to redo and redo my hair, so I decided to braid it into two big braids. That way, I can still wear it in a ponytail if I want to, but I can wear a wig if I needed to do so as well. So that is all I'm doing here. I split my hair into two big portions and I'm braiding it into two big braids again. My hair is still slightly wet, so I'm trying my best to be as gentle as possible so that I don't break my hair but yeah, I'm just braiding it up. As a protective style so that I can either wear it like this or wear it with a wig on this, is my natural hair wash day routine, especially actually using my aloe vera oil as a hot oil treatment, all right family, so that is it both braids Are done, my hair feels nice clean and light, and I'm just taking the rest of the oil in the bowl and just going through and just rubbing it on my scalp on my edges and all of that. Thank you all again, so so much for watching. I love you all and I'll see you all in my next one bye. Thank you.
