Hair Update: Relaxed Hair Update | The Lazy Syndrome Has Taken Over | Denaj

A Requested Hair Update. I think I've become extremely lazy on my relaxed hair journey. For the most part, I'm feeling uninspired and that has been taking a toll on the state of my hair. I've been doing the bear minimum because LIFE has been LIFING!

But anyways, I have been encountering some breakage and shedding occasiaonally, but quite manageable.

Oh my gosh. This feels so weird for me to be making a video. I haven't recorded a speaking video in possibly over a month, guys so welcome and welcome back to my channel, where i break down the fundamentals of my hair care. If you're new to this channel guys, my name is dina and over here we talk about everything, relaxed hair care. So, if that's something that you're interested in then by all means, please do consider sticking around and joining the hair gang family over here we just hit 2 000 subscribers and i'm overjoyed to have 2 000 of you on my hair care journey. It'S been such a good experience actually, and i'm really really really thankful that you've decided to be a part of it. So today's video is just a hair update in my previous wash day, video. I got one or two comments. Speaking about you know, maybe i need to come and do an update about my hair, how to manage breakage etc, and i said yeah. Let me jump on this one because yeah we need to stop acting as though our hair is um. Our hair is always behaving because my hair ain't always behaving so yeah. Let'S just get right into my hair update so guys i am nine weeks post relaxer and i'm not necessarily in a hurry to get my hair relaxed, but my mind will probably change in the next two weeks or so. I'Ve had my hair like this. For the last week and a half today's actually a wednesday, it's a public holiday here in montserrat and i'm using the opportunity to wash my hair, because i have an event for saturday and sunday. So i know i'm going to be out of the house for most of those days and so i'm not going to have the chance to wash my hair, so i'm utilizing my public holiday wisely girl to get my hair washed. So this is how my hair looks. My hair has actually been flat ironed. It was flat ironed about a week or so ago, yeah right now, it's dry really dry and i'm thinking that i need a moisture treatment. Why? Because last week i did somewhat of a protein treatment. I clarified and did a protein treatment and i haven't done a moisture treatment in a while. So when i say, moisture treatment, a plain, moisture treatment. Now i'm just touching my hair, and i heard my hair crack and of course, here's a little strand that came off, so i know for a fact that it's dry and i know that it needs to be washed. So i'm excited to get some water on this hair and just turn it around bring some life back to it. To make my to make myself feel good again because look it just looks it just looks flat. It really does now in terms of what i've been doing to maintain my ends, guys. I haven't really been doing much to my hair. There was one point where i was trying to be all extra. I had a braid out the same braid out that you saw in my previous wash day video. I kept that for two weeks first week i wore it down for most of the time. Second week now my hair just felt really dry, and at that point i started considering oh my gosh. Do i need to go back to washing my hair once a week, because week two your hair gets so dry. I think, because of all the product that you would have put in your hair from week, one your hair then reaches a place where it's like. I can't take any more products. Adina, you need to wash me yeah. Breakage is this: is this a broken strand, or is this shedded here? Oh no, i'm just shut it here girl. I started questioning whether or not i should go back to washing my hair every week, because of that dryness that i experienced on week. Two now why it worked for me, um a few months ago, is because on week two, what i tried to do was just not do anything to my hair at all. So i'll put my hair in some twists and i'll. Just leave those twists in for about two to three days: take them down moisturize and seal and then twist them right back up. So my hair was just not getting much manipulation, and so i didn't experience as much breakage. So i'm not sure at this point. If i'm going to continue washing my hair every week or every two weeks, i'm just gon na go with the feeling like i, i don't want to feel like every single weekend. I have to wash my hair. I don't want to be in that. I'Ve lived that for about 10 11 years and trust me they're more things to life than your hair, and i don't want to make my hair my life. So generally, i have been moisturizing and sealing as usual. My ends don't look too bad, even though i had that episode with you know some breakage on week. Two for the most part, my hair has been okay. I'Ve been experiencing average breakage that week, two that i was speaking about, i did experience more shedding than usual. I don't know i don't know what was happening that week to be totally honest, guys i don't know but um for the most part. For the last nine weeks, my hair has been doing okay on a scale of one to ten. Ten being my hair doing great, my hair has been at about seven or eight, so still an a and um there's room for improvement for sure, but it's been good. It'S been nice. I'Ve also been using a little bit more heat than usual um. I think, since i've gotten my hair relaxed i've used heat on my hair, maybe about two or three times at this point. I don't care honestly, i don't care it's not. I don't care about my hair and the health of my hair, but i just want to do what i want to do. I i don't want to live within that box, so people say oh minimize it. Yes, i am minimizing the use of heat, but at the same time i want to be able to enjoy my hair and, let's be honest, let's be frank right, let's be really frank, there's some styles that you just can't pull off unless your hair straight plain and Simple, so sometimes i just want to be different the times when i want to wear my hair down, and i don't want it in a curly state case in point last week. I just wanted my hair to be straight and i enjoyed wearing my hair straight for at least a day or two nice curly wavy i'll see. If i find a pick in this insert, so you can see really nice and i enjoyed that, and i don't think there's anything wrong with that, just be mindful about how often you apply heat to your hair in terms of styles guys i am the worst when It comes to styling my hair, i know, and a few videos ago. I think what i was speaking about deep conditioning. A lot of you were telling me: oh you want to see that style. You want to see how i achieve that style. It literally took me less than two minutes so for me to do a video about that. I'M, like am i gon na, be uploading like a three minute video on youtube. You know because it was so simple like there was no effort, but because you want to see it, i am going to record a video of me doing that very, very, very simple style, and for me i, like things that are easy. I like, because i know a lot of us are not you know, adept in styling and i'm i'm definitely one of those persons. I just like simple and easy hairstyles that sort of look effortless, but still look kind of complex like that one. So yeah i've been wearing just weird hairstyles. If that's what you want to call it, because i call that one weird and for the most part my hair has been back in a bun, so not much adventure but as usual i do enjoy my braid outs and my braid outs have been receiving. So many compliments every time i wear my braid outs. People like, oh, i like your hair. You should wear your hair like this. More often, how did you get your hair to look like this and i'm like? Oh thank you. You know i just put in full plaques in my hair, and that was it. You know. Braid outs to me add that sort of pizzazz without a lot of effort - and i quite like it so on this wash day that i'm about to to have definitely i'm going to be going for a braid out this week now in terms of my nighttime routine. As i said, i've just been moisturizing and sealing every other night. The times when i just get lazy and three nights would pass and then i'll i'll be like yeah, okay, fine time for me to moisturize. So my hair feels a bit dry, but for the most part same thing, i've been using my two moisturizers that i really love my teigen and my meal and, of course, my avocado oil. I just placed an order for some avocado oil, because what i have was running out and i'm just i'm so particular now like i, i don't want any and any avocado oil. I, like the brand that i'm using and i'm going to go back to that same brand, so i had to place the order for it the other day. But the thing is: is that when you find products that really work for you, it doesn't make sense for you to switch up unless you just want to experiment and try out new things, but what your hair likes continue to feed it. Yes, it's encouraged that you try out other things, because your hair does become accustomed to certain products and so sometimes you'll find that hey i've used this um deep conditioner, for instance, for five six months, and it worked really well or for some reason this time around. It'S not working switch, it up, give it a little break and then come back to it again, and i think that's why we tend to have a lot of products. And for me, i have you know about four or five different types of deep conditioners, because i tend to experience that sometimes so switch it up sometimes, but at the same time know what your hair loves and feed your hair with what it loves. Guys guess what so i've been meaning to try a dry shampoo and because i haven't been washing my hair every single week, i said: oh, maybe this dry shampoo thing would come in handy. So i went out. I got me a dry shampoo and it really does work. It'S so weird put it in my hair and my hair got back so much body guys. I tried it when my hair was in a braid outstate. Maybe that was not the best time to try it, but it still made such a difference. The volume came back to my hair, but i think it would have been so much better or worked so much better. Had my hair been straight so that i can just take the comb and just run the product through my hair, but it's been good. It'S been okay, i'm happy that i got it just for those moments where my hair just needs a light, little refresher, so that has been working okay for me. I haven't used it since i've gotten my hair um pressed out for this week because again my hair's just been back in a bun but yeah. That'S been it for my hair, guys, nothing much to talk about it's. As i said, it's dry and i'm getting a few broken strands here since i've just taken it out. As you can see, i haven't done anything the fact that i haven't done anything to my hair and i got two pieces of broken hair just laying here and that says something yo, it's dry. Someone was here there, hey my hair, crack again, sharks, it just literally cracked and i'm barely doing anything. So let that be an indication of when you need to wash your hair if you're hardly doing anything to your hair and you're hearing your hair crack bibs. It'S time to wash your hair refresh, give your hair what it needs: a nice, moisture treatment or nice protein treatment. Someone in the comments as well was also asking me if i dye my hair. No, i don't dye my hair. My hair is just naturally like this, but i do have a few grey strands coming in trying to embarrass me and show my age like you don't want me to look young and fresh anymore. You want people to be watching me and taking that at all. I don't know how. I am no thank you, but i don't know um, i'm considering whether i should dye my hair just to get rid of some of those grays or well. I should leave it to be fair, it doesn't really bother me. People would see me and just like adina, you have gray hair and i'm like is there a sin. Is a cardinal sitting that i have gray hair. Like i'm aging, you know so then there they they show up when they they want to uh. But yeah. That'S that's it. That'S my hair update. Quite you know simple and um candid. In a sense, yeah how's, your hair been going um during your stretch right so yeah guys. I can't promise you that you see an update from me very very very soon, because it's been very hectic at work and very hectic with other things, so uh yeah. I will see you the next time my upload, thank you so much for watching this video, take care and continue showing me love, because i really appreciate it gives me a lot of motivation to keep making videos all right so until next time. I'M just about to say until next week sunday, but until next time guys take care, see you bye, you

Kayla💕💕: Your hair is very pretty, and we seem to have the same hair symptoms. Sometimes i feel like shaving my hair off. Natural or relaxed - they both have their own set of problems

0tismadaline: Braid out looks absolutely gorgeous on you, thanks for the update sweetheart ❤️

Fiona J: Can't lie, I was really happy to see a new video from you Dena...its been a while girrrrrrrl and I personally missed you on Sundays, because you are so relatable and usually on point with what I am also experiencing in my hair journey. Your braid out clips in the video looked so good. Do you use the same products from your last braid out video to achieve this look? I like how you mention about just being lazy to take care of your hair at times and not letting your hair take over your life. I felt the same way over this weekend. Keep the vids coming as often as you are able to or want to, cause your candid content, honesty and efforts are very much appreciated.

Ivy Chilomba: Beautiful hair Dena, cant stop admiring it!

shernet brown: I know that feeling I've gotten tired of washing every week, now it's in braids for 3 weeks I need to remove and wash but 1 more week, but yeah I don't want to be a slave to my hair

Chris M: I started a healthy hair journey two months ago....I'm always watching your videos...I would celebrate if my hair would be half your length.... really

Chris M: Will patiently wait for another video.... take care

Chris M: Hello Dena... thank you for the video... greetings from Africa
