Sleep Styler Review And Demo! No Heat Curls Tested On Straight/Fine Hair

Today we are testing The Sleep Styler (as seen on Shark Tank) on long, straight and fine hair! As mentioned in our video tutorial and review, their instruction manual did state that you may not get great results if you have this hair type (or hard to curl hair) and recommend their mini rollers (which are also made for shorter hair) instead. The large rollers that we used in this video were typically made for people with long and thick, frizzy, curly or textured hair. We wanted to try them out anyway to see what kind of results we could achieve. My daughter has been loving loose, wavy curls lately over tight ringlet type curls. Maybe at some point we will test the mini rollers to see if we like them better. This is our first impression of the product as we have not used them before!

The sleep styler can be found online here: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B071...

In this video we give some tips and tricks for using these curlers as well as showing our results. The most important tip is to start with slightly damp, but not wet hair. Even though these are made with "absorbent yoga towel fabric" your curls will not dry completely if your hair is soaking wet when you roll it up (even overnight.) We also show how to place the straps so that the velcro ends up facing the correct way at the bottom of the rollers.

The core of these rollers is memory foam, so they are super soft, although my daughter said they weren't extremely comfortable to sleep in. I don't think any heat-less overnight curlers really are!

Hey guys today we're going to be trying out these sleep, styler rollers. We saw these on Shark Tank a while ago and we've been wanting to try them ever since, as you can see, her hair is extremely straight and fine. We haven't flat ironed blow-dried this or anything. This is just the natural state of her hair. So I don't have super high hopes for these, but we will see so these come in a pack of eight rollers, which doesn't seem like very many. You would just be able to put four on each side and her hair is really long, so we'll see how it goes as you can see, it has a Velcro strip at the bottom and then a little piece of velcro on the strap. So you just want to undo it like this and then the strap is going to go at the top of the roller. I'M just going to go ahead and section off the first piece and then we'll get started rolling her hair I've already parted her hair on the side so that we don't have to part it after the rollers come out and then I'm going to take a pretty Big section, since I only have four rollers for each side, I'm gon na have to put a lot of hair in there. The instructions say to start with dab hair, but not soaking, wet hair. So I'm just going to take a spray bottle and lightly mist. This. So again, I'm starting with the strap at the top of the roller and then I'm wanting the curl to go away from her face. So I'm wrapping it like this, and I want these to be comfortable to sleep on. So I'm not doing it right at the root, I'm going to pull it down a little bit so that she has some room to lay on it, and it's not going to pull so now that I have it wrapped away from her face. The strap is going to go the opposite way, so it's going to go towards her face, I'm hoping that doesn't create a crease there in front. I guess we'll see when we take this out and then the velcro just goes at the bottom like that. So these are pretty soft. I'M hoping it's going to be okay to sleep on I'm going to continue wrapping away from her face all the way till I get to the center and then we'll do the other side the opposite way. So now that I'm to the center of her head, I'm going to start wrapping these the opposite way, so that they'll all end up going away from her face. Okay, here's what it looks like finished. We were able to get all of her hair in the eight curlers. Do you still go in pretty quick and easy? I don't think it took me more than five minutes. I did have a problem with these straps. As you can see, it only has velcro on the one side, so you have to make sure that it ends up on that site to stay put. What I figured out is the strap needs to come straight down from the top. You can't bring it over the roller because then it will end up on the opposite side. So that's one thing to consider, and then after you get these in, if you feel like they're going to be too tight to sleep in, you can't pull them out a little bit. Just pull them down like that, so that it gives you a little bit of room and it's not going to pull the other little problem I had is the end. Sometimes don't stay tucked in I don't know. Fish is the way I rolled them or what we may end up redoing a couple of these before she goes to bed, so we're going to go ahead and send her to bed with these and then we'll ask her in the morning how they were to sleep On and we'll see how the girls turned out all right here, we are the next morning. This is what they look like after being slept on all night. As you can see, a lot of them have moved down this one's almost falling out. So hopefully these will work. So how are these two sleeping? They were more comfortable than some, but they still weren't comfortable yeah. She sent there they're soft, but it's still just like you've got a lump on your head kind of like a lumpy pillow. So they're not awesome to sleep in I'm, going to go ahead and start taking these out and we'll see what we get for results. As you can see, this isn't super curly, but I'm actually more impressed than I thought I would be. There is a curl there, we'll keep going and see how the rest of it looks. Here'S how it's looking straight out of the curlers. It actually is kind of pretty down here at the bottom, the top not so much we're gon na work with it a little bit and see if we can get it looking better. The instructions say not to brush it out, so we're gon na be careful not to comb. This, I'm just going to kind of shake it out. Maybe have her flip her head upside down and see what we can do at the top. We'Ve worked with this a little bit: that's actually not bad, I think it's quite pretty and she would definitely be happy wearing this to school. I'M kind of wondering how long these curls are going to last we'll give you an update on that later. I think if you have more texture to your hair, this would actually work really well. Her hair is super straight and flying. So the fact that it's curled at all is pretty impressive one more thing I wanted to mention on their instructions. It did say if you have straight fine hair, that these aren't really compatible. They have a smaller roller. If you want tighter curls, she doesn't really like tight curls, and I wanted to see if these would work with straight hair. So that's why we use these

Chloe Self: To get the best results you wanna roll them super tight so that they don’t move at all when you sleep, you should wake up in the morning with the rollers in the same spot you put them in! So it’s not about pulling it tight at the root, it’s about pulling each section around the roller really right and then wrapping it really tight! With her hair length you could have wrapped it around the roller at least 6 times, at least that’s how I do mine and I get perfect wand curls but everyone’s preference is different!! Just an idea if you wanted to experiment with a different result!

Katie: Beautiful! Another thing that might help hold the curl is to use mousse instead of water to dampen the hair. I did that with curlformers and it helped! I've been wanting to try these. Thanks for sharing.

mariapallares09: I loved the way you reviewed this product. I felt like you were thorough, precise and most of all honest. Thank you.

kittenpawsbb: I really like the results. Any product I put in my hair, weighs it down, so I like just spraying water as an option. Great review. Thank you.

Charu Shekhar: Looks fabulous! I think to get even more defined curls, you should add some mousse to the damp hair. Once you take out the rollers, apply some hairspray :)

Waryn Flavell: Thank you so much for the update on how long they lasted. I have very long, fine, and straight hair and no matter what products I use it won't curl and I bought these because of your video and love them.

Tiffany Rossman: I bought 2 packages of these in size large at $19.00 a piece. I have long straight hair, it is a few inches past my bra on my back. My hair was slightly damp, I used 14 rollers & went to sleep in a loose scarf. They were impossible to sleep on as they move around pulling at your hair all night. When I removed them my hair was still slightly damp because the material holds the water & the inside of the roller is a very soft foam. I took the back & got a refund. This is a shity product, I do not recommend purchasing these.

wms72: Try setting it with a setting gel or spray, which would hold the curl longer.

MsSamanatha A: Why not wrap them in the same direction and up in sections like you would with regular curlers I bet you'd have better curls. I use the comfy curlers and the bend ones I've gotten good results from both.

Cara Joos: There is absolutely no way all of my hair will fit in these.

YZK Bass: Thank you for demo. I’m still no fashion lol I like my sponge roller (pink ).

Melenilex: Trank you for the Demonstration. Do you know you can use socks for the same result ? It‘s cheaper and the curl result is the same.

The Sleep Styler: Thank you for your review!

Cindy Lewis: Isn't the hair supposed to be slightly damp when putting in the rollers?

Jade Coy: I got these for Christmas so now I'm watching every YouTube video I can find on it

TheVicdub: I expect same results for my hair too...:(

T Ruly: Well sweetie she has a lot of hair so maybe buy two packs and you will have sixteen to put on all that hair!! Btw her hair came out really nice

A M: Try wrapping a tighter curl.

Thank YOU JESUS: I think youre supposed to twist the hair into the curl

Maimuna Al Mansoori: I like it

Suzane Khan: Gr8 video Plz make a video on hairstyle for wedding Luv from india

Sally Dale: I just bought a pack of this

shahla شهلاء: Should be without iron

cirimae palaganas: Jusssssstttt curious~ but wut book is she reading? It sorta looked like wonder but idk.

Gin Freeman: Interesting. Her voice is just like the woman who presented the product on Shark Tank. I just saw that episode.

Christine Damn: She clearly tossed and turned all night, they didnt come out good at all bc the curlers didnt stay in place through the drying process, this test is invalid

mukti roy: loss

Deborah Fries: I got my last week, I was so excited.....however....horrible, horrible, horrible. I am not sure what the ladies that do the demo are doing...????? As Donald would say, "false news". Don't spend you $$$$ on them. I was looking for some sort of curler I could sleep in, wake up in the a.m. and be good to go!!!!!! NOT. Better off with huge foam curlers......just saying.
