Hey everybody Dominique here welcome back to my channel. I am so grateful to have all of you guys here. Today'S video will be focusing on tips for you guys to maximize your post relaxer wash day routine. So there are a few steps that I use to maintain. The healthy nature of my hair and I want to share them with you, so let's get right into it, as always before we get started, don't forget to like this video if you enjoyed it and subscribe tap the little Bell next to the subscribe button in order For you to get all the notifications and never miss an educational video, and if you have a friend who needs help with her relaxed hair, share my videos with her. So I am officially one week post relaxer 9 days to be exact and what I normally do is the night. Before I wash my hair, I will pre-poo with something really hydrating this time I was in Toronto and I went to the JooJoo hair salon and I got a beautiful hair style done and the hair stylist used the shea moisture, hibiscus and coconut curl enhancing smoothie. In my hair to make my hair, nice and frizz free and what I discovered when I took down the cornrows was that this curl enhancing smoothie made my hair, so nice soft and shiny that I'm going to start incorporating that product into my hair care routine. So I basically used that as my pre-poo, that is step number one, so step number two is using olaplex, so olaplex is essentially a bond builder. The relaxer process breaks down the bonds in your hair in order to make it straight. This stuff is excellent at building back up those bonds in order for you to have strong, healthy, relaxed hair. So the instructions of olaplex number three is to apply this to damp hair, but I find for me it works better when my hair is a little bit more wet. So I'm going to take down my hair and I'm gon na hop in the shower now to make it damp. Okay, I just got out of the shower and I wet my hair. All I did was squeeze out the water. I didn't bother. I don't towel dry. My hair, I didn't bother squeezing it out with you, know my husband's big t-shirt, it's just nice and I would classify this as wet. It'S not sopping wet, but it's wet. Now I'm going to apply the olaplex, so I just applied that I would say quarter-sized amount to, I would say 1/4 of my hair and I am working it from root to tip I'm just going to twist it just to keep it out of the way. There'S. There'S no need to twist your hair. I just feel like sectioning. It off allows me to better see where I applied the olaplex, so I don't over apply and waste the product. Tada, okay, the olaplex has been applied and I'm gon na leave it on for 10 or 15 minutes. I'M also going to wrap it. My hair up in plastic. Just take you know, I love how heat penetrates products better into your hair, classy so funny, and I'm just gon na tuck those twists in alright, I'm gon na go get some lunch, see you in 10-15 minutes. Okay, I've left the olaplex on my hair for 20 minutes. I'D planned on only leaving it in 410, but I had my lunch got carried away and now it's time to rinse it out. So I'm gon na hop in the shower I'm going to rinse out the olaplex and I'm going to shampoo my hair with a hydrating shampoo. So this is a shampoo that I'm going to use today. It is the Tresemme ultimate hydration shampoo. This is a great budget-friendly. Shampoo, it does not leave your hair feeling stripped. I quite like it. Okay, guys I apologize. I showed you the wrong product. I showed you. I did not wash my hair with a Tresemme conditioner, I wash my hair with the Tresemme ultra hydration shampoo. I need to put on my glasses anyways. I left this because it is thick rich, does an effective job at cleaning my scalp and it doesn't strip your hair. I want to show you what this stuff looks like up close because it's magical, I mean it looks like a conditioner that doesn't even look like shampoo, it's so thick and rich, it's lovely! So, as you can see, I'm not using a standard towel to get the excess water out of my hair. Towels are rough on hair and I don't want to promote frizz or dry out my hair, so I used one of my husband's old race tees. So he's a big guy and he wears an extra-large, so it's a great size. An extra large t-shirt is a great size for wrapping your head, especially if you have a melon head like me, so I'm just going to take this off. What I did is, after I washed my hair, I squeezed out the excess water in the shower after I turn the water off, and then I wrapped it in this. This t-shirt next step is applying the deep conditioner before I get into the deep conditioner I wanted to. Let you guys know that when I shampoo my hair, especially one week post relaxer, I focus on the scalp. Sometimes my scalp gets a little dry with the relaxer process, so I want to get those flakes out of my hair and really focus on stimulating my scalp. When you stimulate your scalp by massaging it, it increases blood circulation which leads to faster growth, because that blood is feeding your hair follicles, sending all those yummy nutrients to your hair follicle, allowing it to grow, hair, faster and stronger and more effectively. If you do get a dry, itchy, flaky scalp after your relaxer try a root scrub like a scalp scrub. Shea Moisture just came out with this african black soap bamboo charcoal pre shampoo, scalp scrub. It has tea tree oil and willow bark extract tea tree oil is an antiseptic, and it's great at cleansing. The scalp and healing it, whereas willow bark extract, is very hydrating and moisturizing best of all. What I love about this product is that it comes with this brush, which is a scalp stimulator and it loosens any excess dry skin from your scalp working it out of your hair, alright, applying the deep conditioner I love red pens for his dismiss mask it's one Of my favorite deep conditioners, it's thick and rich and does a really good job of detangling hair in a gentle manner. So I'm pretty liberal with this stuff. I take a big scoop and I start applying it through my hair from root to tip. Now, if you have less hair than me, you don't have to use as much as I do just use what you feel comfortable with this stuff ain't, cheap, they're, not giving it away, so you don't want to blow through it. Sometimes I mix in the joy comb, oyster recovery, conditioner in with a red can frizz dismiss condition conditioner only because this is a really great detangler. Is it's one of my favorite conditioners out there? I don't really have to worry about tangles one week, post relaxer, but you better believe this stuff saved my life. When I was three and a half months post relaxer, I had a ton of regrowth. It was getting hard to detangle and this stuff softens up the regrowth really nicely, along with the S Curl, no drip, hair moisturizer that I always use so moisturize and seal. My hair, these two together, those two together, worked wonders I'm just going to apply a little through my hair. So that's that's how much I'm putting in my hair, I'm just gon na smooth it over like to me there's no such thing as too much conditioner. I'M just gon na twist it up and I'm gon na wrap it up in plastic. Again. Sadly, my heat cat stopped working. I need to go out and buy a new one, but normally what I would do is add in my deep conditioner wrap my hair up in plastic and then put my heat cap on to allow that heat to penetrate that deep conditioner deep into my hair strands. So I'm just gon na flatten it down. I hate the plastic over my ears. It sounds crazy and then I'm gon na take my little black microfiber fuzzy turban and wrap it around my hair. It'S not as good as the heat cap, but it'll do it'll. You know produce a little heat to better penetrate that conditioner into your hair twist it. It has a little elastic, see that and a button at the back of the head. I'M gon na leave this in for about half an hour an hour, and then I will rinse my hair. Ok, everyone! I'M back! It'S been half an hour that I've left the deep conditioner on my hair and now it's time to rinse it out, I'm going to unwrap everything, hop in the shower and simply rinse it out. Ok, I'm back! I'M fresh, I'm clean! My hair is all rinsed out and I am ready to put my leave-in conditioner in and air dry, my hair. So again I have wrapped my hair in my husband's race t-shirt. So I would say it's damp, I'm just going to squeeze out the excess. Ok. So now I'm going to put in my leave-in conditioner, which is a new one, I'm trying it's by shea moisture, sugarcane extract and meadow foam seed, silicone free miracle, styler, leave-in treatment with marshmallow root, so marshmallow root, sugarcane extract meadow foam seed, they're, all very hydrating natural Ingredients and as you guys know, if you've been following my channel, I've been looking for products that are a little healthier, don't contain silicones cetera, so I'm glad to have found this. So if you decide to try this product, it is a spray, but it comes out really thick, so see that so what I do is I just spray a whole bunch into my hand, and I comes out with some like serious attitude. Ok and I work it through my hair - it feels really nice. It'S light. Like all shea moisture products smells really really nice and does a really great job at detangling. So I like to work it into my roots right through the ends and I'm going to part my hair in the middle, using this little rat tail. Comb. Okay battle do use my trusty wide tooth comb to detangle and, as you can see, there's not too much to detangle it's great. I love that this is why deep conditioning is so important. You don't want to add any additional stress to your hair, so that is it that is my post relaxer wash day routine. So I'm just going to leave my hair as is and go about my day and let it air dry, I'm not going to use any heat in my hair, I'm not gon na bother blow-drying and as it's air drying like every hour. I just kind of comb. It out just to make sure that it's straight and not too frizzy or anything and at night I will add in my trusty indigo luster glue and I'll. Add this amount and rub it into my hair, focusing on the ends and then I will wrap my hair as I do during my nighttime routine. I will link that video for you guys and yeah tomorrow morning. It should be pretty straight without flat ironing. It won't be silky stick straight, as it would normally be with flat ironing, but it'll be good enough for me and, of course, without the heat damaged. So I hope you guys like this video, I hope it's more clear than my other wash day routine video. I know a few of you were confused regarding the steps, if you like this video again, please, like this video and subscribe, don't forget to turn on notifications so that you don't miss anything and check out my Instagram, so I've revived the style domination Instagram feel free To follow me, there I'm going to start sending out monthly newsletters with hair care tips for us relax girls, and you can also follow me on my main Instagram account at baker. Jolian Gibbons Solem: I always hated the plastic over my ears too side note I was always natural for most of my life and I recently textlaxed it a month ago and I have binged watched all your hair videos. They have guided me and helped so much. THANK YOU

Amanda Paulino: I am 27 years old and I am relaxing my hair since I was 10 and I didnt know any of this. I am learning so much from you. My hair never passed from my neck line and i realize I have been doing nothing that I was supposed to do with relaxer. Not even neutralizing

Dana Mitchell: Length goals! I was relaxed from the age of 15 to 36. Decided to try natural. I couldn’t find products that worked. My hair always looked dry. Tried a lot of different products. I recently texturized my hair. I look better with straight hair. Still relearning how to take care of it. When I was relaxed before I think I took care of it good . I don’t remember the products I used to use lol. I am currently trying the full line of Shea moisture Jamaican black castor oil line.

Trecia O'Sullivan: Good afternoon Dom, Great vlog! I have relaxed hair and for the past three months prior to January I’ve been using the Luster S Curl Activator to keep my hair soft. I went to my salon two weeks ago for a perm and I told my stylist what I have in hair and she refused to relax my hair - she stated I need to wait 3 months.

Valencia Walker: I’ve been relaxed since 14 till now 29 (almost 30 in April lol ). I love Shea moisture products . Haven’t use the curl products . Will try olaplex .

Karen Conquest: I just found your channel and have binge watched a ton of your videos. So much good information. I've been relaxed since 8th grade and have no plans to ever go natural...can't deal with too much regrowth so I'd go nuts completely natural. If I had to guess I think my texture is 4B and my hair is mid back. It's only been within the last 5 years that I have figured out most of what my hair needs (I'm 60 so a lifetime of trial and error). I have recently been trying to figure out products to limit reversion and frizz. Any suggestions? I heard that hair that is full of moisture doesn't absorb as much from the air. With that in mind, I saw your recommendation for Joico Moisture Recovery shampoo and conditioner and was ready to get some but from other youtubers I have found out that the formula recently changed. Have you tried the new formula and, if so, is it still your favorite? Could you do a comparison video? Quite a few of your tips and processes I had figured out on my own and it's good to see that I've been doing so many things right. I can't wait to try S Curl. Keep up the good work spreading the word on relaxed hair.

Laken Walters: I use the silicone free Shea moisture regularly on my relaxed hair it really loves it and does not weigh down my hair. Edit I also spray it on my new growth when I am close to getting a relaxer touch up and find it keeps the new growth soft

Ava Bishop: Hi Don, I love your channel. I feel that the Shea Moisture brand is great, you just have to find the right one for your hair type. Keep up the good work!❤️

April Porter: I love this particular leave in by Shea Moisture. I have been using this for about a year in my hair Regimen. I see your hair is growing back. Keep up the good work.

Janice Sanders: Thank you for sharing Domonique @Style Domination. Your hair is looking healthy and beautiful. I am still in my relaxed hair journey and was so very grateful and thankful to find you. I relaxed in August (August 11th to be exact) and have not relaxed again as I have very fine, thin, soft, cottony, high porosity (because I color my hair) 3c/4a with thin hair density. I probably will not relax again until late January or February and am really considering only relaxing my hair once a year. My goal is to use healthy practices, including herbs and hair products with less chemicals and deep condition twice a week as well as more co-washing and shampooing my hair once a month. I want to get my hair healthier. I was natural for eleven years, but just could not handle my hair getting those fairy knots and decided to relax. Because my hair is so thin and soft, having relaxed hair makes it look thinner, so this is why I am choosing to relax or touch up my new growth only once or no more than twice a year. Thank you again. Excellent video. Blessings and Happy New Year to you and yours. Janice

Emma Lindblom: I just ordered the Shea moisture leave in the other day. Can't wait to try it out :)

EN: I have to say...when you lifted up your arms, girl! Your arms are CUT! You're my fitness goals!

Deidre D: This was a very detailed video, I enjoyed watching

CL Taylor: Up until minute 2 I was thinking “I guess this is a ‘talking’ video since she has a lace front wig on.” Your hairline is so ... perfect! Keep in mind I’ve watched several of your videos before. Your hair looks so good!! Do you think olaplex can be used on relaxer day, after neutralizing?

Liam Smith: Love this Dom! I want to try the Olaplex 3. Do you know how to cornrow? That is my go to protective style, along with 2 flat twist ...super cute!. Wasn't sure if it was "corporate appropriate", but I manage to make it work...and even had a few flat twist request in the office ("DO ME, DO ME!!")..LOL!

Niecey Semien: I going back to relaxed hair so I’m definitely binge watching all of your routine vids lol

Karalisa Joseph: Hi there. I love love love your personality!!! Ive subscribed and put my notification bell on!!!(And i dont do this often). Thank you for such an informative video. You were so real and straight to the point!!! Love love love yhis video. Please keep them coming!! Question - how long post relaxer do you wash hair? And co wash hair?

Junior Ross: Thank you doll, you're amazing sharing all your lovely hair care tips and products. Continue keeping safe. God's blessings.

Fell: Hey girlll! Thanks for the update I have two questions for you. Do you prefer the redkin frizz dismiss mask to the joico treatment balm? I use the latter and loveeeee it but I just wanted your opinion Second, do you like the shea moisture marshmallow leave in more than scurl? My hair loves s curl but I’m scared of the cones. Do you think the new leave in would make a good replacement moisture wise? Thanks for all the tips and education!!!

Nathalia Dennis - Priganica: Always love your videos, very real and informative.

Kay Gee: Hi Domonique, When using Olaplex do you apply that before actually washing your hair, and just wet it it to apply the product, or do you wash and then apply Olaplex?

Angela Jordan: Hey there! I've tried that leave in from Shea Moisture and I love it. It worked so well.

Prissylil Missy: Love this! I'm buying everything. Be careful with tresemme though.People sued them a few years back because it was making their hair fall out.

I just started the journey to take care of my hair for the first time my goal is to achieve healthy looking hair. I am so motivated, if you can grow health lovely long hair why can't I?? I have a question here: I am due for a post relaxer wash day. I have my hair in box braids and taking them off in a week's time, then no shampooing instead I will follow with a pre poo using a combination of oils and then shampoo. After pre-poo step is it advisable to follow with the Olaplex ?, that is taking it from this video tutorial and complete my post relaxer wash day routine, Thank you!

Aamaria Mason: I love your voice! You should have a podcast, I could listen to you talk about anything! Whether driving in my car, showering or working out!

Pink macarons: Hello guys, i have relaxed my hair at home for 6 years and my hair is so damaged because of the techniques that were used at the relaxing process, my hair has like 4 different lengths and is very damaged and brittle .it also doesn’t grow at all no matter which oils i use, i really don’t want to cut my hair because it’s already short. What do you think I should do?

Mahtilda Chimaobi: Your skin is amazing. I have a question, can you steam your hair immediately after relaxing it?

sheila grayman: So, beautiful and soothing. Thank you. Stay beautiful.

b4glady: Your voice is so soothing

lpgilber: Great video as usual. What heating cap do you usually use?

Annie1313: One of the best advice that was given "olaplex" this is solution from heaven. I have grey hair and I tell you it is strong and young. I do I really need to use no3 not no8???..... also she gave me Kerastase curl manifesto shampoo to use it first wash ,then apply olapex no8 leave in for 20min wash it off ,hair dry my hair then put olapex no6 to moisturise and if I need light oil for shine n sleek look apply wella CR oil reflection day after. I had fantastic results when this products were used at hair salon n I bought them, I just confused if I really need olapex no3 also or just the whole range though its on the expensive side, it does not really matter anyway if it will keep my relaxed hair strong ,sleek n not lay down prevent breakage etc.......can please advice me sis what should I be incoperating and also this recommedation given by a hair dresser will it save n keep my relaxed hair strong and thriving......I SO ADMIRE YOUR RELAXED HAIR.X
