So your notified every week when i upload a video you don't want to miss it so make sure you you subscribe and click that bell i'm doing a roller set using self grip rollers, which made the process so easy. So this is great for beginners. If you've never roller set your hair. Before i got you, these self grip rollers are amazing. So this whole video is beginner friendly because i'm a beginner - and this was my first time doing - a roller set - go me. So if you want to achieve these beautiful curls that gave my hair so much of volume and life keep watching. So i did go ahead and wash and rinse my hair black. If you would like to see how i wash and rinse my hair go ahead and check out my day wash routine okay, so what you would need is rollers today, i'm using self grip rollers. I got these from amazon. It also came with clips as well. I'Ll have that linked down in the description box, as well as you're, going to need wrapping lotion or a setting foam you're, also going to need combs, and that's pretty much all you need. Okay. So, to start off, you want to measure your parting space by placing the roller at the base of your head, and then you want to part the parting space, the width of the roller. If that makes sense, so you want to make a center column for your rollers. That'S the guideline to how you will place the rest of your rollers in your head, so you don't want that space to be wider than the roller. You want it to be. A little narrow so then i'm going to start from the back and i'm sectioning off my hair and every section i'm going to apply my setting foam and then i'm going to roll my hair. So i want to use a setting foam because i want my hair to be kind of damp and i want the curl to set in and setting lotion is perfect for that. You can also use water if you would like. I am not drenching my hair with the product. I am just making it damp, so the curl can set in. As you can see this row, i'm rolling i'm going to roll the roller upwards. So i'm going to pull my hair in front of my forehead and then roll the roller up backwards towards my head. I'M going to make sure it's rolled tight, then, after that i'm going to work on the sides of that section of where those rollers are and then i'm going to do. The same thing part my hair, the width of the roller and then i'm going to comb. It out apply wrapping foam to that section and then i am going to roll the roller going upwards again. So i'm going to pull my hair out and then roll it towards my hair, but i'm rolling the roller on top of the hair. If that makes sense. So i'm doing like a back curl and then i'm going to do another roller in the same way. Okay, so once i get to the sides, i'm going to roll my hair the same way, i did with the bigger rollers in the center of my head. So i'm going to comb out my hair apply the wrapping foam place, the roller on top of my hair and roll it up towards my head and see your girl is feeling herself i this is my first roller set, i'm so proud. It looks good to me. I know, as i keep going it's going to look better, but i am so excited because that's the one thing i've been missing from the salon is my roller set and my hair, that's full of body and volume. So i am loving this so then i'm going to continue the center row of big rollers. That'S what i would recommend for you to do is to finish that center row with big rollers go ahead and finish that up that column up and then move forward from there, and that will help a lot. So as i move towards the back, i'm no longer placing the roller on top of my hair and rolling it up. I am going to place the roller underneath my hair and i'm going to roll it under. So once i get to the back, i'm going to roll the roller under, so you want to make sure your hair is combed out. You also want to make sure the ends are smooth, because that is just going to make your curls look better and when i say look at that back kitchen, oh my gosh, i have bb like my hair is so thick under there like. I need a brush or comb, so i'm going to continue rolling my hair when you are in the back you're just going to roll it under you're, going to roll the rollers under um and then, when i get to the front, i just started pretty much rolling. How i felt felt fit like i just did what felt comfortable and felt right, so you can freestyle roll once you have like. I said that center column down you'll be good to go so yeah, i'm going to continue doing that. I also place different size rollers on my head. As you can see, i have large medium and small rollers. I have the large rollers in the center, so i just mixed it up. Okay, so your girl finished one side of her hair. So i'm going to do the other side and repeat the same steps and then i'll be back okay. So it's the next day and i'm going to take out my rollers. Hopefully it came out good all right. So first roller, let's do it! Oh, oh shoot. She actually, she actually has a beautiful curl and i'm shocked. No hair came out on the roller and that's what i was really worried about. So no hair, let's try a side, one beautiful, so, okay. So i'm going to slick down my edges, but first we got to talk about these curls. These curls are gorgeous and i got a real roller set like i haven't, had a roller set since i went to the salon - and i am so happy - i love the results. They look so good. My hair is so nice and soft doesn't have a crunchy feeling. I just love it, so i just want to slick down my edges before i separate my curls and the crazy thing. Y'All is i slept in these rollers and it didn't hurt like they are the best rollers to sleep in and if you ever slept in rollers. You know it is a headache. A head hurts and i slept in my rollers, so look at that. Okay, so i think i'm going to brush out my curls, i don't want a tight curl. I just want to have like a look of a blow out just a look of a roller set with volume, so i'm going to use my fingers. Let'S do it with our fingers and i could use a big tube comb as well, and i think i'm going to go, get it in a second. But when i say gorgeous yes, baby, okay, let's get a comb. You know your girl got. Ta have a side part, so here's our curl tip, even if you comb out your hair, if you comb it out after you had defined curls, you can always get the curl back or you could redefine and reposition the curl. So all you have to do is take your hair twist it around your finger and then clump it together in your hand, so you're going to scrunch it together in your hand, so, just twist the hair around your finger and then scrunch it and hold it tight And then the curl will reform and it will form in the position that you want it to be in just a fair warning. I did buy the rollers with different sets, so they had rollers that were small, medium and large. So i placed the large rollers in the front center and the line, and then i put medium and smaller rollers at the sides, and then i put the bigger rollers in the back. I did that because i wanted to have still length but a curl at the bottom, but now that i'm looking at it, it looks a little weird. So i'm thinking next time i would go in with the medium rollers um in the back, so i would still have a curl but still have length if that makes sense. So, instead of using this in the back this one, i would use the medium size. So that's the only thing i would change with this roller set. So i love love, love my roller set, but i do want to wrap my hair and sit under the dryer for a minute and see what it looks like when i unwrap my hair. So i'm going to do that. Okay, so i wrapped my hair went and sat under the dryer for about five to ten minutes. I don't know if that's right, i know i just seen people on youtube and instagram they have roller sets. Then they wrap their hair. Then they wrap their hair and, like saran wrap. So let's unwrap my hair. Let'S see the big reveal: okay, okay, okay, okay, okay, okay, wow! I have so much volume i feel like i'm in the 50s, but i'm here for it: okay, luvies. So this is the final results of my roller set with self grip rollers on dry relaxed hair. So this is the results. I absolutely love my hair. It'S giving me the salon vibes. The salon feel like i literally feel like i walked out of the salon minus. I had to do all the work so, but i will say i did learn how to roller set my hair. Okay. So when i say a dry hair roller set, my hair wasn't actually dry. It started off dry as i was sectioning off pieces of hair to roll up. I did put a setting foam on my hair when i'm ever doing like a curl set. Even if my hair isn't drenched drenched wet, it needs to be somewhat damp and i do that by using a wrapping foam. So let's talk about these self grip rollers, so i was nervous to buy these rollers just to be honest because i thought they look like velcro and i watched a couple of reviews on youtube about these rollers and i just felt scared about having my hair attached To velcro i just felt like when i would unravel the rollers that my hair would get stuck in the roller that i would maybe get some breakage or it will pull my hair out. So i was very nervous, but i wanted to give these rollers a try and i'm actually happy. I did yeah, they didn't pull out my hair for the most part, some rollers i did see like one or two strands, but nothing serious, nothing horrible and then some rollers had no hair on it. I would recommend, when you do a roller set with these self grip rollers, that you are very careful when you are taking the rollers out. Also when you are putting the rollers in your hair, so i would say, work backwards. So, if you're going to start with the column of rollers in the middle of your head, which is what i would recommend, because that is kind of a guide to how you should place your rollers, i would say start in the back first and work. Your way up, for example, say you have a roller right here and then you are going to roll this section when you pull the hair over the roller to roll it, it's going to get stuck to the roller, that's already in place, if that makes sense. So as you're adding on new rollers, the hair is going to get stuck on the existing roller. That'S already in your head, so i would say to start backwards and then work your way up, but other than that, like i said, just be gentle with them and you should be good to go. I'M not really concerned about breakage or my hair coming out with these rollers anymore, but i will keep you updated as i use them more and more i'll. Let you know my thoughts on the rollers overall. The rollers really really really really do make doing a roller set easy. The thing that stopped me in the past from doing the roller set, it's just a lot of work and i feel like it's a lot of tedious work. The main reason are the clips. I never could get the clip in the right position to hold the roller tight in my head or to keep the roller from falling out so that eliminates the clips like the self grip rollers. You don't need clips at all, so you don't have to worry about. If you clip the roller in right, is it going to fall out like these is staying in there like it's going to stick to your hair, which is great so as you can see how it does that is. It has little hooks little plastic hooks that hook to your hair and it allows the roller to stay in place. So if you don't know how to do a roller set or if you struggled in the past, i would say, go ahead and try out these self grip rollers comment down below. Let me know how do you dry your hair?
