Hey curlfriends and welcome back. In today's tutorial. I'M going to show you guys how to create this flat twist ponytail on natural hair., I'm starting off with a stretched style.. I did a braid out a few nights. Before., I'm just taking down this braid out and I'm going to detangle my hair using this paddle brush. For this hairstyle. You want extremely stretched hair.. You also want your hair to be as detangled as possible so that you don't run into any snags when you're flat twisting.. Once everything is detangled, we can go ahead and move into our parting.. I'M using this rat tail comb to help me with this parting.. I'M doing this on myself, but I got some help to make sure that my hair was extremely straight and that part was extremely straight.. I went ahead and made that middle part., I'm just going to section my hair off into two separate sections. I'll, have the left section and the right section., I'm just going to separate them using a Goody Hair. Elastic., The Goody hair elastic will help to keep all of the hair out of the way. While we are prepping with the product., We want to lay down some product on this hair and not have a whole bunch of hair getting in the way. I'm starting off with some water in a spray bottle., I'm going to spray down the section in which I'll Be adding gel or Jam. This water will help to reactivate the moisturizer that is already in my hair.. It will also allow the Jam to have something to stick to., I'm adding in my Jam. I'm pretty much just basing my entire hairline as well as the nape of my head before I begin flat twisting., I'm not too worried about the ends of my hair, because They'Ll be in a big poofy ponytail.. I don't want the hair to be too wet to be hard to grip., I'm just spraying down this section.. I just went ahead and started flat twisting. As far as the flat twist. It'S super easy guys.. It'S pretty much. Just a two strand twist., You are going to two strand twist and just grab a little bit of hair as you go from either the back or the front of the hair. Whichever side becomes your dominant side. Every time. The twist ends up on the back of my head. I grab some hair and twist every time the ends up. On the front of my head towards my hairline, I grab some hair from there., I'm pretty much just alternating the two and grabbing hair as I go.. This is what's going to give you that cornrow effect very close to the scalp.. I'M just closing this off with a rubber hair elastic.. This is just a small little rubber band.. I just went back in to touch up my hairline.. I had a few little poofy pieces. You're, just going to repeat the same exact steps on the other side. You're. Just flat twisting halfway down the hair., I'm not going all the way down to the ends, because the ends will end up in a ponytail. I'll, just seal this entire flat twist with a small rubber band.. The hardest part is complete.. Our two flat twists are done.. I'M just going to stretch out the ponytail as much as possible, get as much volume as I can. I'm going to grab this Goody Hair elastic. Grab the two ponytails: stick them together and tie them into one large ponytail.. The very last and final step is just going back in to polish and finish up the hairstyle., I'm using some Eco Styler gel on the nape of my hair, as well as my edges, just to make sure that everything is nice and sleek.. Here are my final results.. I hope you guys enjoyed this natural hair protective style.. I love you guys and I'll see you guys in the next tutorial.
