A quick and easy technique: how to create a casual French Twist. It's hard to achieve the French Twist style when you have BIG Curly "Natural Hair." I hope this method helps save you some time! This is an excellent protective style that completely covers your ends helping to keep them moisturized. It's also a stylish, cute protective style. Hope it helps!

And all hey guys, I'm not really a fan of protective styles, but winter is upon us, and I know it's pretty important, so I'm gon na show you a really quick in casual style. The French twist I've also gotten tons of requests for the French twist. So this will be video one in a series of three French twist techniques, I'm going from easiest to most complex. So this first style is super simple, I'm working on old twist out hair, because this would be the everyday situation when you're trying to attempt a protective style. So let's get started first, I missed it. My hair with water for moisture and flexibility, I'm separating the hair in the front to create a fringe if you're, not a fan of fringe or bangs, just skip this step, then just clip the rest of your hair back, remove dries the hair with water and a Bit of shea butter then twist the hair to the side to give the fringe direction and create texture. Then I twist the other little section I pulled out on the opposite side for texture working in the backs, with the hair into a top and bottom half with more in the bottom smooth the top half twist. It loosely then pin it in place in the back of the head to create a light hump for pompadour. Don'T make it too big. We'Re not going for the smokey. Look here make sure the humps, nice and smooth, then smooth all the rest of your hair over to the right side of your head and bobby, pin it into place separating that back portion in half twist it loosely once or twice towards the ends, then tuck the Ends into the twist and continue to roll it down until it meets the head, then just bobby pin it into place. Now, I'm gon na finish getting ready for my day, leaving those twists in at the front. If you're driving to work, you can leave the twist in during a commute to let it set whatever the case after about 20 minutes, you can release the twist and create your fringe. If your bangs are long, you can use the method of twisting the ends together and then pulling the hair out gently to frame the face, and that's it an easy, casual protective style where your ends are nice and covered. The easiest French twist stay tuned for the next style in the French twist series hope this helps guys by music by Wendy su and slo-mo forever. This is what

burrochapadogrl: ive tried for years to do a french twist and there were only tutorials for ppl with smooth straight hair and NOW I KNOW HOW TO DO IT. this was amazing! thank you thank you thank youuuuu!

heymishi: I love this! I've been playing around lately with protective styles that let me enjoy my natural hair but still keep my ends secure. I will definitely add this one to my list! thanks!

blackfiah: I am in the process of going natural (well I am natural but I keep hiding under weave, because I'm scared) anyway I have to say that once I gain that courage and my hair gets a tad bit longer you will be my go to youtube girl. your hair is amazing and I LOVE that you use home made products. Smooches

Afrodesia's Beauty Bar: This is one of the best french rolls I've ever seen! French rolls are my more favorite ways to style my hair, I don't really like to wear my hair down (because it tickles and makes me think something is crawling on me) but this is by far the most time effective protective style I've seen. I love that you twist the two back section together and tuck them, as opposed to starting from the bottom and rolling it up and tucking the top. Very smart Whitney! I'll be doing this from now on! THANKS!!! :-D

msyin9: Another great video! My hair is shorter than yours right now, but I am still going to attempt it since keeping the ends protected and wanting something quick and easy is what this style is when you want to pull yourself together and get the heck out of the door! Looking forward to the next two!

CatTay: This is one of my favorite styles to wear, even back in my perm days. Looks great on you!

Jessuly Karner: This hairstyle looks great on you! I definitely need to try this on myself :) and I love the way you did the fringe

Debra Brown: Love it! Anything with a French Twist is easy and quick!

Jennifer Ware: Now that hair style was too cute and it was so big and full!! I'm definitely going to add this to my winter hairstyles!!!

niqui36: Simple and easy just the way I like it! Just added to my favorites.

Carolyn Denise: you have some of the best tutorials!!! i have been trying to do a french twist for the longest but it never comes out right, but doing it this way worked perfectly!

caribbeanspice08: That is cute! and simple, definitely going to try this at some point!

Ms.JayLove: i always love your hair tutorials! you always make me feel can do ANYTHING with my hair :) thank you for educating us black women!

focusednow123: This is great : ) And the style is gorgeous, And you're right, this is the ideal situation, old twist-out hair! I seem to always think about protective styling after I've just finished a set of twists or while wearing a twist out lol. And then I'm like oops lol

CandiCaneFabulicious: I tried this look yesterday and I was pleasantly bombarded with so many compliments. THANKS!!!!!

NattyQueen2010: I really love this french twist.. Can't wait to try it, Thanks!

Reigna Celeste: I just put my hair in mini twists for my protective style and am hoping that once i take them out my hair will be long enough to do your french twist styles. You're really my favorite natural hair guru. SERIOUSLY!!!

The Natural Hair Vickyvue: LOVE, LOVE, LOVE IT!!! Girl, your hair has gotten increasingly thicker and looks stronger as well. Beautiful!

Tyson Lyles: I love this style.....I'm going to rock this on a 5 day old twist out. I will post the pics on your fb

LBellatrix: As someone who's a big fan of updos, I was happy to see this video. My one suggestion would be that you consider using hairpins instead of bobby pins. They come in lots of different sizes and are a lot gentler on the hair. Once you get the hang of them (they're actually not hard to use) you'll wonder what you ever did without them!

C Jay: LOVE IT!!!! And I been sitting here trying to figure out what to do with my hair!

MermaidMomma89: rah! too cute. I can't wait till I have the length to do some of your styles! great vid!

KinyoobiYoru: My hair is short, so I have to modify a lot of your styles to get it to stay in place, as well as use extra combs and pins. But things are going great! My hair has reached it's maximum density, and now I'm waiting on the length. Thanks for the encouragement!

April Hamidou: Soooo, i know many people tell you that they love your video however, I LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE your vids. Please don't stop making them. There is something about you, your personality and your creativeness that just keeps me inspired. Because of this i am 23 weeks post relaxer and pushing on. chocpch: Very cute & simple. Can't wait to see the nxt cpl tutorials! Thx 4 sharing

Térésa Scotland: Thanks for this! My hair is not nearly as long as yours, but the whole mini twist protective style thing doesn't work for me any more (takes about 6 hours now). I'd rather spend that time hugging Hubby and the kids. This is a lovely protective style that takes no time at all. Will be trying this one. Blessings...

okolo007: Hey there. Been a subbie for a while, even the dear naptural channel and I think one of the main reasons I return is because of the great pride you take in "just uploading some vids". Keep up the great work and thanks from all of us for the encouragement. Do you have any vids of your hair style ideas when you had only 3" of hair? You probably do, but I can't find it on any of your channels. Also, please make sure all these long hair vids will be on here in about 5 years when mine gets there :o)

ATM2400: I LOVE your hair, you have the best ideas!!!

mira m: Thankk you sooo much I was in desperate need of a quick style

Zoe Ivey: how did your hair grow so fast!? i want mine to grow

seriouslyfunny1000: Hey Naptural I have a question for you? What's a protective style and your hair grew exponentially. At the length it is in this vid from when you cut it first how long did it take to get this long? And do you think using natural oils and products and braiding it helps it to grow a little but faster? Thanks!

zheahra: You pick the best music for your vids. Nice and very pretty french twist.

Nicky's Spotlight: Go head gurl this is nice....it's style like this that make me enjoy being natural.

Ivi Thomé: @MrsSarahWalz ther same happens to me. The bobby pins just stay in place when I had twisted or braided my hair before, so it's streched. Oh, and I double the number of bobby pins just to be safe =)

dsugartwist: I love it!
