Let'S go and yeah foreign. What'S up guys welcome back to my YouTube channel, I thought that I would do a little video on a wash day, but I also wanted to style it afterwards and show you guys a realistic look at my routine and just how styling goes for me when I Do style and work with my natural hair, especially in the summertime? So that's what this video is going to be about, I'm just starting off by getting my hair wet. It actually takes a good hot second for my hair to absorb the water and be completely soaked. So I do just take my time and work through my hair, get it wet. I love taking showers and I love really hot showers, so I don't mind it and playing with my hair in the shower feels amazing, so I usually enjoy this time. It'S not like a task or anything I'm just using Carol's daughter for shampoo. Nowadays, I use whatever shampoo is around. I kind of have a small collection now guys, so I kind of just get to pick and choose. I am going to use my scalp massager, which, if you don't have one, I highly suggest that you get into one. They are there. They feel good. On top of I mean you can use your nails, I I still use my nails too, but I do like using the scalp massager. It feels bougie and I feel like it's just really good on your hair, like I feel like it really just helps get the product in stimulate the scalp. You know all that good stuff. So, as you all know - or maybe you don't know, but I love conditioners, I feel like this is probably my favorite part of wash days and that's definitely because they provide so much slip. I just like hunting for the next conditioner that'll. You know give me even more slip than the last one. It helps replenish my hair moisturize it and I'm even more excited, because I have my headed dryer now, so I have the option to sit under there for a little bit, which I'm not going to do it for a long time, but I do want to set Them to that for a little bit got ta get my money's worth, I'm just going through and doing sections, I'm just doing chunky little twists, and I'm mostly doing that. So I can put oils in it because oils again hair growth, moisturize. You know the game and yeah, I'm just gon na sit onto their, not long at all. I think I sat under there for like 10 minutes 15 minutes, not too long. I do want to reserve the longer sessions for when I'm doing a deep condition - and I can do you know maybe 30 minutes an hour and so on and so forth. So I did treat myself to a hair mask. I do say treat because I didn't want to use up all of the product I have. The jar is not that big okay, so I'm like, I can't use it every time I do a wash day. I need to preserve it. Okay - I don't got it like that, but I am gon na do it today, because I feel, like my hair, I've been neglecting it lately, but I love doing a hair mask. I think it's bougie, the it's amazing foreign ly. If I'm, you know doing a wash day and I'm doing a wig or some type of other styling I'll just do some chunky twists and do a moisturizer with them. But this week I did want to do a little bit of a natural hairstyle, just because it's kind of the beginning of Summer here, so I feel like it's gon na be the least humid right this second, so I needed to do any natural hairstyles. I want now versus deeper into July and August when I just know that the humidity in my hair, they just won't mix, they won't do it. So I wanted to do. I wanted to use my hooded dryer again people I'm not going to lie to you. I'Ve been using it as much as possible, which I'm like I should probably slow down, because I've used it quite a bit and I'm not trying to put too much heat on my hair, but I do want to try to style with it. So I wanted to do some flexi rods. I think Flex rods are really cute and I wanted to try different sizing because I've been using the same blue ones. I think they're either blue or orange, but I use them all the time and I was like. Maybe I should try some different sizing just to see. You know how the curls can turn out little ringlet curls, so I did go for a smaller size. This time. I forgot the exact size of them, but they're the smaller red ones, and I just wrap them around my head. I want it to sit under the dryer for not that much time, but I wanted them to dry. I was gon na wait till the end of the day anyway to take them loose and then kind of see. You know what it was giving. So I sat onto there for a good hour and a half. I want to say, and then later that night I came back, you know once time had passed and I tried to take them a loose. Some of the ones in the front turned out really cute. I overestimated, or I think I underestimated how much time I should have spent underneath the hooded, dryer and yeah I felt like. I should have definitely given it more time because the ones around the crown of my head were still wet and resulted in fluffy hair, and I don't mind the look of fluffy hair. I don't mind it, but my problem is: is that it's gon na lose the definition of the curl that could have been, I feel like the ones in the front kind of represent. You know what the curls are supposed to look like um, and I definitely want to try them again. I mean I have the flexi rod, so I definitely will be needing another set, but I want to show you guys the Realty, what we do when our hair looks a mess when the style we originally one. It does not turn out cute. What is Plan B, so plan B for me was doing the style, and this is pretty simple. It'S kind of. I don't even know what to call it, but it's kind of like you part your hair down the middle you create on both sides. You kind of just lay it down with gel and then you let the top be kind of like a cute little curly fun Pony. I don't even know what to call it. It can be both it can be both but yeah. I pretty much just gelled everything down and then tried to tuck it as much as I could um behind my ear. I feel, like my part's, a little bit crooked watching it back now. It looks crooked, but we're gon na rock with it, because that's what we do but anyways you basically do that and then I put of course my little white head wrap one and I'm just doing that to lay everything down, because my hair will not will not Lay down, if I don't do that immediately, while the gel is still wet. So I have to do that to mold it into place, and then I decided to leave some hairs out at the bottom, because I just thought it would be like a fun kind of cute. Look, I feel, like it's a cute fun way to dress up kind of the traditional high bun High Puff um. I also went back in and put a bunch more flexi rods. I did not want to give up on these flexi rods y'all. I was kind of low-key disappointed. I was like, why did you fail me, but I I did it to myself no lie, but this is the next day and I'm just taking them a loose. I wish I had done even more because I feel like I could have done the ponytail even more, but I will say I like that it's a little bit of a mixture like some of pieces are really curly and then some are a little bit more fluffy. Also, my makeup, I can't I can literally see where my makeup ends on my forehead and where the scarf began yeah, but I'm just pulling loose all of my little ringlet, curls and yeah. My only regret is, I feel like I should have done some more like in the middle area, but I feel like this turned out a very cute, and then I did do a couple of rods at the bottom, because I wanted to you know: just dress it Up a little bit and y'all this one, this is what we were aiming for and the look at the other one just a struggle. That is like literally a symbolism for my hair journey and I like how my hair journey goes or how it goes. Every time I do a hairstyle, it's like one will turn out really cute and then the other will just be throwing up gang signs. It'S wild and then lastly, I'm just going in and cleaning up the edges a little bit with some edge control. I don't really have enough baby hairs to put out I pretty much gelled everything down. So this was our final look and I think it turned out really cute considering you know, I tried to always like incorporate styles that I can go to and the high bun is definitely one of my favorites, but I like this one because I feel like it's A little fancier, you know it's cute, she's cute and the humidity is not going to affect us, but that's gon na be it for today's video. I hope you guys enjoyed it if you did and you like natural hair content, be sure to hit that subscribe button down below. Let'S be YouTube friends forever and I'll see you guys in my next video bye foreign

Jasmine T.: Hello <3 when you’re doing styles like flexi rod sets, braid outs, twist outs—any style where you separate and fluff the hair after it’s dry, you should use a wrap foam for the best results. Gel is meant for styles where you don’t change the placement of the hair after it dries bc you’ll break the gel cast which gives less hold and a lot of frizz. I hope this make sense and helps :)
