How To Grow Long Healthy Relaxed Hair | Routine For Beginners

Hey everyone! Thank you so much for stopping by my channel to check out today's video about "How To Grow Long Relaxed Hair For Beginners." In this video, I discuss what you need to know to START and create a healthy relaxed hair care routine. I've done this routine consistently during the beginning of my relaxed hair journey in 2008 and started doing this exact routine again consistenly in 2021 with excellent results in retained length. Having a haircare routine and healthy practices, if relaxed or natural, helps maintain length and health for all hair types.

Hey everyone. It'S me maggs and i am back with another video and i'm really excited about this video, because all about how do you start your hair journey? How do you start a regimen? Where do i begin? Because i've been there before and i've recently been back there before, i originally started my very first relaxed hair journey back in 2008, and i am so grateful for the hair care forms that i had access to back then keep it simple: sista, hairlicious long, hair care Forum and many many others, so if you know you know, comment in the comment section, if you are an og too, from back in the day, those forums were really helpful for me, because at the time i was so overwhelmed with information and just confused on where To start when it comes to understanding my hair and how to improve the health of it, so i'm here to talk about: where do you begin when it comes to a hair journey in creating a regimen? Where do you begin, and so the things i'm going to talk about, i noticed um have been a consistent thing with a lot of different people when it comes to especially a relaxed hair journey. So i created some lists here, basically reflecting off of my new hair journey that i just started back in 2019 when i returned back to relaxing my hair so to break it all down to make it easier. If you are someone who's trying to start a regimen. This is what you're going to need, and this is what you're going to need to know. So i have my notes here. So these are my hair, dirty basics, on just the basic starters like a starter kit. So what you're going to need is a clarifying shampoo and what is clarifying, and why do i need a clarifying shampoo. I suggest that you use a clarifying shampoo once to twice a month to rid your hair of any product build up, because once you start your hair journey, you're going to be using a lot of different products and a lot of products. Often so you want a clarifying shampoo to rid your hair and scalp of product buildup, okay, because you do not want product build up on your hair because having product build up on your hair is kind of like suffocating your hair, i don't care what anybody says Dirt doesn't make your hair grow. I know i used to believe that back in the day, but in my opinion, in my experience, having a dirty scalp and dirty hair, never worked well for me. So that's when a clarifying shampoo comes in the clarifying shampoo just really gets in your hair and deep cleanses away the product build up from your hair and scalp, and it's super super important so get a clarifying shampoo. It could be any one of your choice and also the clarifying shampoo would be used once to twice a month. But then again, everybody's hair needs are different, so you can kind of adjust that how you see fit next, a moisturizing shampoo and i actually use a moisturizing shampoo weekly. So i am shampooing my hair once a week. Yes, once a week, not once every two weeks, not once every three weeks once a week, i use a moisturizing shampoo on my hair for my weekly regimen okay, and why is that important to use a moisturizing shampoo? Because you do not want to strip your hair of all the nice natural oils and all the goodness that you're doing to it on a weekly basis, and that could be any moisturizing shampoo of your choice. And i tell you when you start using a more a specific moisturizing shampoo during the week it's gon na help out it's gon na work. It'S gon na work out and you're also going to need conditioner, i feel like conditioner when it comes to a hair journey. Is probably one of the most important when it comes to retaining length, retaining thickness and overall health of your hair conditioning, conditioning conditioning and i say, starting out just condition, deep condition once a week starting out? That'S what i did in my hair, totally transformed. But when it comes to deep conditioning you're going to need a few different kinds - and this may be overwhelming from for some, but once you actually figure out your routine, it becomes so easy. So one you're going to need a protein based conditioner that you use once to twice a month. It all depends on your regimen and what your hair needs. I like to use a protein once to twice a month to strengthen up my hair, because i am on the grow out phase of my bob right now. So i need to make sure that my hair stays nice and strong. So i use a protein based conditioner once a month also you'll need a moisturizing conditioner and i actually use that weekly also and you'll need a light. Protein conditioner me personally, i like to alternate between protein light protein and moisturizing conditioners. I tend to alternate those conditioners depending on what my hair needs at the time and my routine schedule and you're also going to need a leave-in conditioner of your choice. Using a leave-in conditioner on every wash day has helped me out tremendously when i started doing that. In 2008, everything really transformed having a leave-in conditioner is kind of like, in my opinion, like a primer or like a base for your hair. When it comes to styling, it helps prevent breakage. It helps you retain length and you'll just notice, a great difference when you're here, when you have a good leave-in conditioner, and i use a leave-in conditioner anytime. My hair touches water. Okay anytime, my hair touches water, i'm putting a leave-in conditioner in my hair. I use a leave-in conditioner, no matter if i'm air drying my hair or if i'm doing a heat pass and i'll get into heat, passes a little bit later, you're going to need a moisturizer that you like to use daily. I actually use a good moisturizer on a daily basis, and i noticed that my hair has totally transformed with using a moisturizer daily. It helps prevent breakage and absolutely helps you retain length because you do not want your hair to get dry. That is the biggest thing i feel like conditioning and having a good moisturizer when it comes to your hair journey. Really is the game changer, in my opinion, at least for me in my experience, so you can figure out whatever moisturizer you like using. I like using a water-based moisturizer, because that's what my hair likes and that's my what my hair needs, so i actually moisturize my hair every day or every other day and so with having a moisturizer that you like using you're gon na need to seal right now. It all depends on your hair type and what you need, but pretty much the basics. Everybody uses a moisturizer right, and so what i like to seal my moisturizer with when it comes to moisturizing and sealing, is a carrier oil that could be coconut oil, olive oil. I like to use argan oil in the winter months and um jojoba oil i like using. So, basically, you want to have an oil that you like to seal in that moisture to keep all that juicy goodness with your hair, and i noticed adding that extra step of sealing. My hair keeps the moisture there and it helps me really retain length and avoid breakage. When i tell you moisturizing and having a good moisturizer that you like really changes the game now about co-washing um starting out, i remember in 2008, i did not co-wash starting out. I just made sure that i washed and deep conditioned weekly, but you can add a co-wash mid-week to kind of like refresh your hair, especially if you are someone who has dry hair, so it all depends on your regimen and what your hair needs. I feel like this is optional, especially when starting out, in my opinion, um, but co-washing really helps add that moisture back to your hair, especially if it's dry and you work out like myself, i work out, and i like to co-wash my hair mid-week, to get rid Of all that sweat and yuckiness in my scalp, because i cannot have an irritated scalp when it comes to my hair care and co-washing has helped out tremendously another thing that i highly suggest - and i know this might be silly and some people might be like. Why are you telling us this like? We all, should know this by now, but you would be surprised that some people may not know um based off of some of the questions, and you know emails that i do get get you a nice silk or satin scarf. I suggest scarves because i just feel like i'm able to place the scarf more secure than a bonnet, because a bonnet just moves around and for me, in my experience, bonnets, have caused me breakage, especially around the hairline and around the nape, and especially this area, because My hair is rubbing so i personally like to use a satin or silk scarf to tie my hair up, so it won't move - and you know it's nice and neat. When i wake up and the way i tie it, it doesn't come off during the night time. So that's up to you to figure out what you need as far as when it comes to covering your hair at night. I highly suggest you do that. Don'T sleep in your wigs take those bad boys off, especially if you're trying to start a hair care journey. Okay, also, when it comes to starting a hair journey, you're going to be doing protective styles, that could be whatever you choose and whatever works for you, like i said, everybody's hair is different and everybody's lifestyle is different, so you would have to definitely figure out what Works for you say, for example, you may not be able to co-wash during the week, but just making sure that you shampoo and deep condition on a weekly basis and making sure that your hair stays moisturized and avoiding excessive use of heat. I tend to limit my heat use to only once a month if i choose to use that heat pass, but i notice when it comes to starting a hair routine. Limiting your heat use will really help out, like your hair, will. Thank you for limiting the heat use. Um. You don't need to put a flat iron to your hair. Every day your hair is gon na fry. You don't need to do that. Okay, so limiting that use to once a month really helps and gives me something to look forward to um once a month. If i do decide to use a heat pass and the heat pass for me just allows me to see my progress. You know um. So that's why i really really love limiting my heat used to once a month, because when i fly on my hair, i'm like oh, my gosh look at me like things are going well and lastly, before i go when it comes to a hair journey, try to Retouch, your hair, if possible, minimum to every eight weeks. Okay, don't do every four weeks try not to do every six weeks. I would highly suggest every eight weeks for me: that's the minimum because you have enough new growth to retouch. So if you're retouching your hair with the relaxer anything sooner than that, you can run the possibility of overlapping and over processing your relaxer. So those are the basics, in my opinion, when it comes to starting a hair journey like if you had questions on. Where do i begin, and what do i need to do? I feel like this. Video would help be helpful for you, and i also have in the description below all of the information that i discussed in this video. If you just want a quick rundown of a basic hair journey, um routine, that you're looking for again, you do not have to take everything that i say word for word. I'M just here sharing what has worked really well for me and what i've noticed. A lot of other people are doing on their relaxed hair journey and their natural hair journey. It'S been pretty consistent as far as what i viewed other people doing. Okay. So if you have any questions, feel free to ask me and as always, thank you so much for watching and i'll see you later. You

ulovemegz: Hey everyone! Thank you so much for stopping by my channel to check out today's video about "How To Grow Long Relaxed Hair For Beginners." In this video, I discuss what you need to know to START and create a healthy relaxed hair care routine. I forgot to mention in this video that you would need a nice heat protectant of your choice for monthly heat passes. Please keep in mind that everyones hair and lifestyle is different so tailoring your routine to fit your hair and needs is key!

Zoe Johnson: For anyone new, I’d trust her! Meg has grown her hair and cut it so many times just to grow it back out before anyone else, natural AND relaxed!

Nykicia Jefferson: After 5 years and 4 months, my appointment is set for this Friday to get my relaxer. I am sooooo excited. Between you, April Sunny and Hairlicious, I’ve learned a lot about relaxed hair. I’m surprised my hair grew as long as it did back in the day so I just know it can only be great things to come with this new found knowledge. Keep going Megz!

HrhSophia TheFirst: For me realizing that I needed different shampoos, deep conditioners and leave-in conditioners was a game changer. Being consistent with protein then took it to a whole nother level. Heading to mid-back in 2022!

Shadai Mccarter: Literally was applying relaxer and watching this video I have about 4 different conditions and castor oil in my hair for Deep conditioning. I was natural 3.5 years and was over it. Implementing the Deep conditioner and protein is a must!!! Thanks girl I’ll be doing this routine weekly and keep you updated on my progress!!

Getting Baked Up: This video came right on time! I’m working on growing my hair back and I’m also relaxed so this is a plus! Thank you so much for posting this video! I’ll be starting my new hair journey ASAP! ❤️

Itsjennijen: This video came to me in the best timing considering that I'm going tomorrow to get my hair relaxed... finally after 9 years! I'm so excited for a new me and a simple way of maintaining it too. Thanks for the video this was very helpful ‍♀️

Tiffany Addison: After being being natural for five years and coming back to a relaxer this video helped me a ton!! Thank you and please keep the tips coming

Delicate ♎ Dominance: Been following you for years!! And I have used SEVERAL of your methods. Thanks for the refresher. It always helps to double back every now and then. Sometimes we can get forgetful and lazy. But it eventually shows in your hair, so it's good to stay consistent with your regimen

Zahra: These tips also are important for natural hair growth. Healthy hair is healthy hair, whether it's relaxed or natural. The only thing I would say is that with natural hair you have to be very mindful of mechanical damage. Curly, coily hair is more prone to tangles and knots, so a lot of damage can happen if you don't detangle carefully. In contrast, relaxed hair is fragile due to chemical damage. So like you said, limiting heat use is important, and protein treatments can strengthen your hair.

l k: Yesss , I’ve been contemplating on relaxing my hair! This is the exact video that I needed, tysm

Karina Rice: I miss those forums AND your old videos!! I’m restarting my relaxed hair journey as well. Thanks for sharing your beautiful journey all these years!

Marilyn Martin: This video was really helpful. I’m not just beginning my journey but after listening to you, some of the things you mentioned is what I did when I started my hair journey. I keep a writing journal so I can see which products work best and to keep me on schedule with my regimen. Thanks for sharing!

India Jones: Hey I been watching you since 2012. I must say that my hair was very healthy with your hair tips. I went natural in 2016 but just couldn't get with it lol. Now that I'm back relax, I've been struggling where to start and what products to use. I'm so happy that you are doing this from the beginning. I can't wait to do this journey with you. I hope u do more step by step videos. Thank you

Essence Grigsby: I’ve been going back and forth with deciding on whether I want to go back to relaxed hair. I’m going to go back in a few months(I have faux locs in right now). This has been so helpful! Thank you!

Felicia C: Great tips Megz especially the one on overlapping, 8 weeks for allowing enough length to only retouch the new growth

Starlette Handy: Girl, I just cut my hair into a blunt cut. I went from bra length to above shoulder length. I loved your hair cut, and I decided to do the same. I love it! My husband did an awesome job cutting✂️ it. I won’t be putting another relaxer until my birthday in April. My last one was in November. Thank you. I am definitely following your advice because you are on point.)♥️

Demetria Brown: I just relaxed 6 days ago after being natural for 10 years....I'm as happy as a pig in slop!! I can't keep my hands out of my hair!! lol..thx for the tips!!

Sophie: Many thanks to you Meg. You saved my hair. There were dry, I didn't know what to do with them. I made a clarifying shampoo because I didn't do it often despite using gel every day. I left my hair mask on for 30 minutes as indicated on the package (I left only 5 minutes before your video). And finally, what changed everything was the use of a conditioner and a LEAVE IN . I dried my hair with my blower brush, I straightened my hair then I slept with a scarf. My hair is super soft and airy. Thank you a thousand times. I hope I will find a routine that works for me so that my hair stays nourished and hydrated. Kisses from France ♥️

Connie: I learned how to grow my hair from you Meg. I never knew the importance of moisturizing my ends

Sharia Pilgrim: heya! Just getting back into my hair care regimen and I agree 100% on the silk scarf vs the bonnet. Thanks again for the tips!

Candy C: I remember longhaircare forum. Length checks. Etc. When i developed a hair care routine and stuck to it implementing treatments throughout the month my hair did so well. I applied heat although i understand less is more. Giving the hair a break sometimes with protective styles really helped too.

Chelsey Grantmoore: In regards to the heat pass and relaxer retouch. If you are starting out with a pixie, what would be your suggestions? It is a bit stressful to not want to retouch or use a flat iron when I can visibly see and feel the difference. I have been relaxed since 2012 but I have always had pixie cuts due to being in the military. Now that I am out I want to grow it longer but it is so stressful to get pass pixie stage and stay healthy. I hope you do find the time to answer this question. I would greatly appreciate it :) I really appreciated your video!!

Naa-Lamle Bannerman: Thank you for this video! I'm about to relax my hair for the dirt time everrr and I hadn't realized a relaxed regimen is very similar to a natural hair one. I previously thought washing relaxed hair weekly would wash out the relaxer so good to get proper knowledge

Csb1289: I've been very unhappy with my hair lately so this is a nice refresher course. Back to square one! I'm gonna need a good leave-in! Thanks for the video!

cassmusic43: Awesome tips. Relaxed a year ago and suffered a setback a few months ago. Will use these tips to get back on track.

TheCarnivoreSoprano: I started my hair journey with you back in 08! So glad to see how much you've grown. You made me realize I need a clarifying shampoo. Sn I'm natural and I am good with it. My hair is just hella dry. Bringing back the Neutrogena triple moisture? Lol

Creative Thinker: Those blogs/forums back in the day was so helpful. One of the biggest take away from those hair forums was how to apply products to my hair. I’m still a little heavy on the conditioner. But in most cases a little goes a long way.

Angel Smith: I use a moisturizing shampoo and then I rinse it with vinegar to clarify it. The conditioner leaves my hair smelling wonderful. You can thank me later. I've watched over 20 videos to get my regimen just right (including you). Also, after I work out I use dry shampoo to clean it.

Sacred Spaces w/ Desireé Marie: I really needed this video. Although I’m natural, I still struggle with finding out which products are good for my hair when it comes to hair growth

Natural Beauty Boss: My hair is natural, but I still watch megz videos because her tips are still amazing! I have been watching her since back in the day and was inspired to start my own channel❤❤

Mylene Djeukam: great tips ! im on a similar hair journey and my hair looks so much more healthy

Natalie Williamson: You explained everything so gracefully.

Tiffany Armstrong: I permed my hair yesterday after being natural for almost three years . I love natural hair but it was too much for me . Thanks for sharing

goldiexo: this video is right on time! i remember watching your very first one in 2008 and i’m restarting my journey again this year !

Sibongile 'Sboza' M: Just relaxed last month... After 8yrs of natural (6yrs dreads and 2 years afro)...and this vid just what I need.

Spilled DNAbeans: Thank you for these helpful, helpful tips! Question from someone that uses the comb to detangle multiple times a day, is that necessary or excessive? If excessive, how do you go about minimizing comb action?

Rees Karongo: Just found you! Thanks I'm a first timer. Been natural all my life ... I'm 2wek old in this relaxed hair world.. and I think your advice sounds legit. thanks.

Sharon Simpson: Hi Megz, I greatly appreciate this video. No doubt you have years of experience and from this wealth of knowledge you have made a very simple and honest yet very effective video on how to grow and care for relax hair. Thank you

Caramela P: I really enjoyed watching this. Everything you said I'm fully aware of and have been trying to keep up with. My struggle was what protective style is best for me. I could easily wear my own hair, plus what do you think about clip ins? That's like my go to now a days.

SimplyMe: Great tips. Also, success is on the other side of consistency. You have the product, now use it consistently.

Felicia Dunn: I don’t like cowashing but I still will follow these steps and yes I’m natural. I’m never going to relax my hair. I have gotten a taste of what my natural hair can do. And I love it. I enjoyed your video Megan.

Tammara Mencias: I absolutely loved this information. I relaxed my hair after 5 years natural. I did it myself and it was a disaster. I haven't relaxed it again after the first time in September because I wanted it to grow out some so that I can relax the sections that did not relax. My question for @ulovemegz is did I make a mistake waiting so long and do you have any suggestions?

Chloe Arnold: Thank you for this. Been watching since 2012 and your advice is priceless. Excited for the product video!

Brittany Myers: Thanks this was very helpful and straight to point! Subscribed!

Tshibota K: 10 years since I got my last relaxer. I'm over it. You've got yourself a new subscriber ma'am.

Stacie Greene: I know I’m suppose to tie my hair up at night , but that’s the WEAKEST part of my regimen. I cleanse, deep condition, and moisturize my hair often, NO heat... everything. But falling asleep without bonnet is my downfall . My hair is still very nice , but I could only imagine keeping my hair tied every night. I’ve been natural 16 years now .

Jayne’s Hair Care Solutions: Enjoyed listening in, I use both protein and moisture treatment depending on the state of my hair. Either or both

Jay’s Spot: Spot on sis! People ask me all the time what do I do to my hair or what do I put in it… I tell them it’s a good ole perm n I keep up with it n don’t over-process it I keep it moisturized! In between when it’s not really time to perm but isn’t so controllable like sis said if you wear wigs this will be the time but for me I get 2 cornrows or some straight backs until it’s time to be permed! I don’t really wash my hair every week but I may try that! Some people think you’ll wash all the nutrients out but I guess that’s why you put it back with all the products! But all her tips are spot on!!

Latoya O’Neal: Thank you so much for your consistency, over the years you’ve shared so many hair regimen’s most if not all has worked for the girls and I. You are appreciated all the from Wisconsin here’s some

Holli D: Hi Meg, would you share some of the products you use? Your tips have always helped me over the years. Btw I love this Bob on you

Lauren L: Hello. Do you mind, which protein conditioner do you use? This came right on time. I went back relaxed in June after 6 yrs, and I am having to re learn how to care for my relaxed hair. I was doing just ok until dec and I’ve noticed some thinning. So I need a regimen and tips and re learning. Thanks for your video

Lami S: Good tips! I think geared more towards low porosity though just in case people wonder why certain things may not be working well on their hair eg liquid moisturisers, needing heavier sealants and more protein. I learnt these things late! Great all the same

Aryce: hi! just relaxed my hair 3 weeks ago for the first time ever, so thank you.

CocoSara: Keep it simple sista omg those forum were so helpfull. Thanks to you and many other, i was able to take care of my hair back in 2008 i think…

Carbonet: Good tips. I would add trimming your hair every relaxer or every other relaxer to stay on top of split ends and avoid breakage

Sapphire Relaxed Hair: Thank you Ever kindly for a great video! Your tips do work, I been here since 2014 Can't wait to see more videos like this. Have a wonderful week. God Bless you ❤

Simone W: True tripple og! You have really taught me a lot over the years and been along with me on my journey as well.

dollyrevenge98: Great tips. There's a youtuber who flatirons her hair once a week and never does protective styling and her hair is down her back. I personally have chosen to stick to protective style for a month at a time to retain length.

Mrs. Brown Eyes: Good day my Dear, This was easy to understand and simple to follow. Thanks! ❤️

Briana Cannon: I'm definitely an og from back in the day I saw you relaxed, natural and now you are back relaxed and yes we have evolved over the years with relaxers and I'm here for it meg

Tanya O'Kain: Please create a video for relaxed hair and workouts. What do you do before, during and after?

Jordyn Knight: I recently started getting my hair relaxed after 8 years and I like it and I'd love for it to grow long , but , the hairstylist cut it into a short style that I liked at first and now , not so much .But , I don't really have the money to pay for going to get my hair done every two weeks like everyone else, so , I'm searching for a way to maintain it when I'm in between relaxers. Am I allowed to flat iron my hair after a relaxer ?

Beverlyn Adom: Thanks for the helpful tips, Megz! Is the ORS Hair Lotion a leave-in conditioner or moisturizer? Always get confused You’re amazing!!

Mia Victoria: I’ve been natural for 10 years. I can’t do it anymore. I booked my appointment and can’t wait to be relaxed again.

Rose OM: Yup !! 2008 was such an empowering time ☺️

Deja Thomas: Hello beautiful. so my hair was relaxed for my pixie cut but i’m ready to grow it out. I like protective styles because it’s very low maintenance for me and I have busy lifestyle as i’m a college student and I work part time. how would I maintain the growth of my hair while it’s in braids?

Marjorie : I’m so contemplating relaxing my hair!

Msnetnet Jones: Yess!! I remember those forums! They were the game-changers back then. I wonder what Tracy has been up to is she still on youtube? And girl, I still remember your first eyebrow tutorials...ahhh when youtube was all stress-free and fun!! Great tips for beginners! Tfs luv!

Beautiful_Silver: Thanks this is great information

Lisa Graham: Very informative! Thank you.

Silvia: Thank you, it's really helpful.

Keto Town : Hi! I don’t typically comment on videos but I came across yours and wanted to ask a couple question’s so I like my hair relaxed and I have been doing it for forever, I do not like my natural hair and I don’t like when some ppl are very judgmental about relaxing . I didn’t take very good care of my hair for the longest and wanted it to grow long. the past year I got comfortable trimming my hair . Its about the length of yours if not a tad bit shorter and not As thick but I want it to be , but I finally got it back to looking and feeling healthy . I just did a relaxer the other day and it looks good . Now, my hair IS prone to breakage and I want to prevent that this time . I got some nice clip ins that I want to start wearing and let it breathe without going straight to crochet and braids like ALWAYS , and my question is …how do I keep my hair from breaking off shorter and keep it moisturized and retaining length without leaving oil all on it ?? My hair does not soak up oil it just sits on top , so I can’t put any oils and lotions on it while dry or it just sticks and then my hair sticks out . I would have to do everything while its wet . I really want to get it long WHILE relaxed . Right now since I just did the relaxer you know ?

Sharihime J: KISS!!! Keep it simple sista!!

Teshir Carolyn: Nice insights. Saving this video if I ever decide to relax

Nikkiglam2: Awesome tips!!!

Nicole Dua: Hello Megz, just came across your channel an I'm trying to grow my relax hair. Love your video. Will be subscribing. Please what type of moisturizer and oil do you use daily on your hair.

Jt4kiss: When you do a co wash do you still have to deep condition after that during the middle of the week

Lakesha Harris: Thanks for sharing this video it was very informative

NAT SCOTT: Moisturizer every other day on your ends was a game changer for me.

Chyna Michelle: How long do you stretch your relaxers and what is your opinion on cholesterol deep conditioning treatment for hair?

God’s Virtuous Women: Hey Meg , I’m a little confused on the protein part. So I have been starting my journey since maybe June. I have been consistently washing my hair weekly I use olive oil aloe shampoo and orange replenishing conditioner because I use olive oil perms and I just like it. I deep condition with the the orange bottle replenishing olive oil conditioner. Am I doing that right? I stretch my relaxers 9-10 weeks my hair is fine so that’s the longest I can go and I trim every relaxer. The last relaxer I put protein conditioner in immediately after watching my relaxer out then shampoo after a deep conditioner . My hair is growing but it gets to my shoulder blades then it just starts shredding or the ends split then I trim and it goes back then it doesn’t grow longer then that? Also I just added hot oil treatments in my regimen 2 weeks straight. What am I doing wrong? I don’t know how to add protein in my regimen lol please help me! I really want my hair to grow sometimes I get so sad and just wanna get a short cut but then I’m like just try again . So it does have the potential to grow im just doing something wrong or I’m missing something

Letty 45: I was a KISS girl back in 2009, my hair made it to bra strap length.

beauty1985: @ulovemegz Do you moisturise your hair when you are wearing it straight? IF so how and what do you use?

Rita-Helen Irabor: Should I wash my hair weekly if it’s in braids? And protective styles?

Simone Durham: Hi I just relaxed my hair yesterday

Thulisile Mathebula: Thank you Meg ❤

SageVibes: I don’t put anything in my hair because it’s naturally oily. If i put anything in my hair I have to wash it the next day. Even when I went blonde it was still super oily. I used to wash my hair every 3 days before I had kids

Noma N: Yeeeess. Amazing hair megz. Very informative as usual. Thank you c

Nansy Sherry: I love your energy and personality

Jayboo _x3: Hey gorgeous so I’ve recently started my relaxed journey im so scared but im going to everything you said! Do you have product review?

Dwayne Vega: How soon should my wife wash her hair with neautralizing shampoo after a relaxer? Also, is sweating out a perm actually possible?
