How To Master a Braid Out on Relaxed Hair

Oh, your hair is so long. Are you mixed? Don'T ask me that hi guys welcome back to my channel in this video we'll be discussing relaxer, no nose things you should stay away from when you have relaxed hair. The first thing is trying too many different products. Yes, when you're starting off your journey, you have to find the product that works for you, but once you have found that product stop using products that are just released on the market products that you just oh, i want to try this because i see other people Using it once you've found that staple product for your hair stick with it, my staple products are avalon products, so i use the affirm relaxer. I also use the avalon care care, shampoo, conditioner and i have staple oil that i use in my hair: coconut oil, castor oil, vitamin e oil, others. I may try in my hair. However, it's not like every single week when something launches - i am using it in my hair, if you're trying to find your routine, if you're, trying to find the products that work for your hair don't be trying every single thing use a brand watch the brand see If it works for your hair, if it doesn't that's a time when you change it, if you found a product, stick with it, stick with the whole product line, because the chemical makeup of those products work for your hair. The way how you take care of your hair works for your hair. Once your hair has passed your platoon using those products, you know that it works for your hair. The second tip is abusing treatments, stop abusing the treatments that using your hair. If you're going to be doing a protein treatment, don't be using it every single week, because then you have a protein overload and that will defeat every single purpose that you had when you started your journey. What i do is use a protein treatment when i need to so. If i see that i'm having a little bit more than usual breakage when i brush my hair, look at the floor, i'm like a lot more breakage the next wash day, i'm going to import a little bit of protein in my hair, maybe not my protein treatment Treatment but a protein wash so a shampoo that has protein in it or conditioner would have that has protein in it or both, but i'm not going to be using that shampoo and conditioner weekly if my hair does not require it. So when i use my deep or hard protein treatments is, after my hair really needs it like after a relaxer, so your hair needs protein after you have done the relaxer, because you've broken down your hair dyes, i don't recommend dyes any at all when you have Relaxed hair, however, if you choose to dye your hair, don't dye your hair every time it it gets a little bit darker or every time your roots grow out. Let it grow find its way again and then maybe you can try. I don't recommend it, but if you choose to do it to your hair, good luck to you. However, i don't recommend that you dye your hair every week or dye your hair every single time, a speck of darker hair comes out not moisturizing and sealing. I cannot repeat this enough and i'm pretty sure a few of my videos pre before this one has spoken about moisturizing and sealing if you've been watching my channel for a period of time. You know that my hair was not the slant when i started talking to you. It was all the way up here. So all of this is retained length and to retain length. You need to ensure that your hair is moisturized at all times i moisturize and smooth. My hair every other day with a cream base with water as the first ingredient, and then i seal with a light oil. Especially, my hair is straight like this, so i can still have a little bit of movement because you're gon na wear your hair down by the end of the week. However, um don't worry about weighing your hair down, if you don't need to wear it down. I worry like this in straight states, moisturize and seal your hair guys, you need to find a moisturizer that works for you and find an oil that you like, and that works for you and moisturize into your hair every other night or as needed. Next tip is not wrapping before bed. Why? Why are you not wrapping before you go to bed you're, asking the wrong questions when you ask? Oh, your hair looks so good. What type of relaxer do you use? It doesn't start with just a relaxer. Oh, your hair is so nice. What type of moisturizer do you use that doesn't start with a moisturizer? Oh, your hair is so long. Are you mixed? Don'T ask me that black people can have nice hair too? It has to start from home how you take care of it, how you treat it. So if you go to bed on your cotton pillowcases that cotton pillowcase will strip everything that your hair has and it will take you with it and you will have brittle dry, crunchy, breaking hair, so cover your hair at night and previously i've stated that you can Throw all your hair, if you want in a bonnet, you can tie it down with a satin scarf. You can go to bed on a satin pillowcase but ensure that you're protecting it protecting it. If you are just going to like lean back on your bed, maybe to watch tv pull your hair to the front, don't lay on it. It seems like. Oh, my hair, i worship my hair. I don't, but i invest in my hair. I invest in my journey. So i'm going to do the things to not have my hair be breaking off, because i can't afford to be putting money in products putting money in professional treatments. Putting money in the time that i use to to actually take care of my hair and i say, put money in the time because i could be working right now, but i choose to do a video or i choose to moisturize my hair or i choose to Wrap my hair, i work seven days a week, so i could be making money right now. Investing in your hair means time and it means money if you're not ready to do all of that. It'S not time for your journey. The next thing is: relaxing too often generally people say: oh, you should relax your hair every six to eight weeks. Why are you relaxing your hair every six to eight weeks? Think about it. The only reason why your hair seems like it needs to be relaxed. Every six to eight weeks is because you're not moisturizing and sealing and you're not deep, conditioning with heat. So your hair feels like a brittle mess thick hard to deal with by it, gets it six or eight weeks. If you and i promise you, if you start deep conditioning weekly, you will get rid of that, you will be able to stretch and relax for longer. I used to stretch my relaxer to 12 weeks even before my journey, because i have coily hair instead of kinky hair. That may be the um difference between hair as well. So i have coils, not kinks, so my curls are a little bit looser. However, you with kinky hair can stretch that long too. If you ensure that your hair is moisturized. Now i go to 14 weeks because i realize that by doing this over time, deep conditioning, moisturizing and stealing protecting my hair keeping it um detangled helps me to get my hair to a longer period, um in stretch before my relaxer. So i'm right now at 14 weeks i don't think i'll go any longer, because you actually see that your hair is changing or you know saying: hey relax your time, i'm breaking i'm shedding it's really hard to deal with me. Don'T get your relaxer done at 14 weeks? My hair is like girl get up so i'm getting up and going to the salon. The next relaxer. No, no is saying no to protective styles. Protective styles are really good. I plant my hair for the whole week, like my hair, is a brace for the whole week. If it's not straight like this, if i'm not going anywhere, i do not release my wrapping style. If i don't touch it, if my hair is not in a curl in a straight state, i will actually just have it flat, and you guys saw that when i did my weekly um relaxed hair routine, that my hair is always like in braids like. I don't need to have my hair out if i don't need to have it out the second to last one is not deep conditioning, i'm pretty sure i went over this and all the other tips are there other abuses that you do or the other things that You'Re not doing do you condition your hair, please if you don't know what deep condition to do comment down below and ask me videos, you can tell me your porosity. I can do the research for you. If i don't know at the time - and i will provide you with the answer - but deep condition - your hair guys - yes, you might buy a rola, a shampoo and condition, and you shampoo, your hair. You condition your hair and that's it you're going for the day. The final one is abusing heat tools. Why is you need to use a flat iron if you have straight hair comment down below and let me know why do you need to use a flat iron if your hair is relaxed? Oh, you have new growth. If you have new growth, put it in a curly style, do braid outs! If you want a straight hair, look for a particular event or wherever you, whatever you're doing, go to the salon. Get it professionally blown out, go to the salon. But if you have somebody at home that really knows how to do it. You can let them do it, but do not abuse it. Don'T be better. Blettering. Your hair freely every day do not be blow drying your hair every week. Do not guys. You will disappoint yourself and just a final one. I know i said the final before, but this is a bonus one not using leave-in treatments. What is going to keep your hair until the next wash day, because moisturizing and sealing just gets your hair, moisturized and sealed, but what's in it after you have shampooed condition, you're just gon na? Let it dry without product no put leave-in treatments on your list. For the next beauty store haul put leave-in treatments on your list to get the next time you go to the beauty store, you will need a leave-in treatment, at least one um. That has a little bit of protein, so you can use it. I would recommend you get a leave-in with a little bit of proteins, just the right balance of moisture protein. If you don't, you know, really know like leave-ins, because i have several leave-ins for several reasons. So i have a leave-in treatment for when i'm going to have my hair um go under heat, i have a leave-in treatment for when my hair is dry. I have a leave-in treatment for when my hair needs protein. So if you're not, you know, you're, not in the know what you're supposed to get get one with a little bit of protein just to fight balance in between protein and moisture, you can see that the fat is really ingredient, stand there in the baby store and Find the product that i am recommending to you, i'm legit recommending these to you so guys. I hope you like this video like share and subscribe if you haven't done so already and stay tuned for the other one bye,

Jocellyn Harvey: So agree with wrapping! I was so bad about this in my teens and 20s when I was relaxed and natural. I'm 31 now, and the last few years I was a "lazy" natural, but I think why my hair grew so well when natural was because I found the right moisturizer based on my porosity AND I always covered my hair. When I sit on my couch to get snuggly and watch TV, I throw on a bonnet in case I want to take a snooze or just lay sideways. Now I also wrap my relaxed hair with a scarf and put on a bonnet.

Alexis H.: Great advice! I totally agree , deep conditioning weekly definitely helps to soften my kinky hair& the ability to stretch longer. I stretch to 14 weeks too!

Sakeenia Noid: Good advice. I wish brands offered more trial size products so you can try/buy a small size and determine if it works or not.

Stephanie Mensah: I love your thumbnail! This video should be every relaxed girls go to and blueprint. Amazing tips as always! Everything you mentioned is so true and has also helped me on my hair journey too! Great video!!

Carissa Graham: I just started taking better care of my hair after years of neglect. I've been moistuzing and sealing for the past 2 months and my hair is already feeling amazing and I was able to easily stretch my relaxer longer than usual. I'm getting a relaxer tomorrow. I've never done protein treatments but would like to incorporate now into my regime. What would be one you can recommend for my first wash day after my relaxer?

JL: Love it Great information thank you for sharing

TaKeisha Armstead: I'm at the first tip and I already know I messed up. Lol I had too many products but I have narrowed it down now.

Paulina Thompson: Am now watching but have already given you a like. That's how much I love your content.

MsDanDiamond♡: I have relaxed hair. I'm low porosity. I don't use heat on my hair but aloe base products do work on my hair. How do you deep condition?

aliabaguette: I got my hair relaxed today!

fredine stmartin: Any suggestions of a leave in treatment with protein for low porosity .thanks for replying

true: Okay, so I remember years ago when I had a relaxed that each time I wrapped my hair it would become wavy by the time I wake up? Why is that?

Senzelo Ngema: New subbie. Girl, I love your channel.

Stephanie Reid: Very good advice
