Hi guys it's melinda welcome back to my channel or welcome if you're new, so in today's video i am going to be going over my curlsmith wash day with kind of an emphasis on my first impressions of their curl defining styling souffle. So if you're interested in that just keep watching okay guys, so this is not my first time using all of the products in this video. I did solely use curlsmith products, but this is my first time using their um styling souffle. So i am going to walk you through my wash day and give you my first impressions and like kind of mini review on this product and let you know if i feel like it's worth the money or not, because curlsmith is definitely more expensive than drugstore. So the products that i use for my wash day, i did use their shine line for my shampoo and the conditioner. I do have an entire review up on my channel if you guys want to see like a full breakdown of my opinion on all the shine products. I do like those products, i'm not like die hard in love with them. I would say i wish the shampoo lathered up a little bit more, but i'm pretty sure it doesn't have sulfates in it. So that's kind of to be expected um. However, i do feel like i've used some other sulfate-free shampoos that do lather a bit better than that. So i do like a little bit more lather out of my shampoo, but i did still purchase the full size, shampoo and conditioner from the shine line just because they are fragrance. Free and i've been having a lot of scalp issues lately. And i have noticed that when i use a more fragrance, free or lightly scented products, my scalp feels a lot better. So i am going to go ahead and use up that bottle and um probably repurchase, unless i find a better like shampoo and conditioner combo that still helps my scalp um, i will say the lust, shampoo and conditioner and just like their products in general. I do feel like i've noticed that those kind of help with my scalp issues too so maybe i'll like go back and try those again but anyways yeah. All that to say that i do like the shampoo and conditioner from the shine line. They are very creamy. Very silky i do find that they add shine to my hair. The conditioner is really nice and um. It'S definitely hydrating good for detangling. The shampoo is really good too um very silky, pretty um runny lightweight. Again, though it just doesn't lather. I think. That'S just my least favorite part about it, but yeah they're still really good products, and i mean i bought them and, like i said, probably will repurchase. So i guess i would say they're worth the money um they're, just not like holy grail status like for me. You know, but still really good, am i just talking in circles. I don't really know okay anyways then for my styler i used the shine cream. So this is a lightweight cream. Don'T let the word cream scare you if you have wavy, hair or hair that gets weighed down easily? I also do i typically avoid creams, but this is very lightweight. It'S pretty much a leave-in conditioner, so i used my current styling application technique that i've been using to apply all of these products and i do have several updated styling wash day routines up on my channel. But basically, what i'm doing is upside down styling and i'm brushing my hair out with a um tangle teezer. I just find that i get the best definition and curl clumps and everything with this method, so i apply about a quarter sized amount just to the ends of my hair. I just scrunched that in and then i started going in with the styling souffle, so the first thing that i noticed about, oh by the way, as far as that cream goes um, i really like it. I feel like every time i use it. I have a great definition and yeah it doesn't have a scent, also, which is great. So the first thing that i noticed about the styling souffle is how lightweight and like jelly it is. I really like that. I also love the scent of the curlsmith products that are scented um. I know i just like raved about unscented products, but they have a really good scent. So i appreciate that um you guys. I just want to say i went i just kind of was very chaotic in my application technique when using this product, i'm always a little weird when i'm trying something for the first time, but i was definitely i don't know just using something on camera. Here'S the texture by the way, very jelly and jiggly that was kind of gross, but when i'm applying stuff on camera, i'm kind of over thinking how much i'm applying. Because i want to be able to say i used a quarter sized amount. So i'm trying to like pay attention to how much i'm grabbing and then i just end up doing weird things so anyways i did not distribute it evenly throughout my hair at all. It was just very chaotic i kept going in for more and i ended up with way too much product at my roots, which you're going to see in my initial results, so that was kind of my fault but anyways i'll get back to that in a second. I want to finish my application process so after i applied this, i did a little bit of scrunching a little bit of glazing and then i did scrunch my hair out with my t-shirt to just remove some of the excess product and water, and then i went In with their volumizing foam - and i believe i glaze this over and then scrunch this in too then i pixie diffused and hover diffused until dry. So these are my results. As you can see, my hair is very shiny. It'S very hydrated, but almost too much so my hair definitely felt a little bit greasy and especially at the roots. I could tell that i just focused way too much of the product at my roots and not enough product at my ends and again that was totally my fault. My ends ended up a little bit frizzy and just overall, my hair did feel like i had too much product in it. It felt kind of textured and greasy, and i really care about the way my hair feels and it also looked a little bit greasy. I thought it kind of looked like it was still wet or, like i didn't scrunch out the gel cast, but that wasn't the case. It just kind of looked greasy, so i decided that i didn't just want to upload this video. As is, i wanted to go ahead and give this styling souffle another chance, because the first time didn't like blow me out of the water, so i did try it again for this wash day and now i'm going to insert that footage here so um i did Use all the same techniques pretty much, except when i was applying the styling souffle. I did not put this like at my roots as much. I started by scrunching it. Oh my gosh rosie's awake. I have to go get her, but i started by scrunching this into my ends and then, when i glazed it you can see in the videos. I started at my ends and slowly worked my way up my hair just to get more product on my ends and less product at my roots and then again i went in with the foam and then i diffused and then now we are here so here are My final final results and my final thoughts. So, first of all, i just want to say that this is probably one of the best wash days looks wise and as far as, like definition goes like, i that i've ever had like this definition is honestly unreal like how even my texture is yeah it just It looks so good and even and pretty and curly i got really nice curl enhancement like these results are so so pretty now. Let me go get rosie and i'll be right. Back! Okay, i'm nursing her! So ignore her little noggin right here, but anyways yeah. Just super even definition like all the way up to my root and then all the way down to my end, like even my ends, look really nice and kind of curled under and it looks so pretty. These are some of the most beautiful results. I think i've ever gotten, i will say my hair - does still have a little bit of that. Like heavy greasy feeling like i did apply a thick cream, so i'm i applied too much of one of the products and i'm not sure which one it was. I doubt it was the foam, because that foam is really lightweight it had to have either been the cream or the styling souffle. My guess is actually the cream to be honest. Um i just don't feel like this is gon na make my hair feel greasy. I could be wrong because, obviously it's only the second time. I'Ve used it, but i am gon na try this one more time, not in this video, because you guys this is just too much, but i think i should tone it down on that cream. A little bit because and most people would not have a problem with this wash day, you guys i'm very picky with the way my hair feels, and it just feels the teeniest bit like honestly, just like greasy is the only way i can describe it now. Some of you might like this feeling, because it also like, looks and feels very hydrated, but i don't love that, like overly moisturized feeling to my hair um and it also kind of cut out on some of my volume. I will say, but it also tamed a lot of my frizz, so there's kind of like there's a flip side to every just to everything like. If you want super moisturize, you may lose volume. If you want super hydrated, you typically have more stretched out hair, but i will say i still got like some great curl enhancement. As far as this product goes. I feel like i'm really going to like this. I just need to figure out how much of each product i need to use together. So i love my new styling routine right now, because i found that layering products work so well for my hair, but it definitely makes it tricky when you are trying new products to find out um which product you're applying too much of it like it makes it. So much harder, i'm gon na, have to do a little bit more playing around, but i am honestly loving these results. I just have to get over the way my hair feels, which is not that big of a deal. No one else is going to be touching. It except me um, but yeah. What do you guys think have y'all tried this um also, i'm pretty sure it's protein free, which is amazing, like i'm pretty excited about this. Actually i guess that completes this video. You guys, i hope you enjoyed it. I hope it was helpful and i will be posting updates and i try to keep you guys updated on my instagram. I have a regular instagram and a wavy hair, instagram they're, both always linked down below. If you want to follow me over there. Sometimes i give you guys updates in between videos and yeah. I'M sure if i keep testing this out and my results get better. You'Ll probably see it in a real on my instagram. So follow me over there and i'll see you guys in my next video bye

Sara Smith: Oooh, that souffle really works for you! The first one or two times I tried it I couldn't hop on the bandwagon. But I tried it again recently and it was fabulous! I made sure to use a conditioner and leave in/cream with protein before hand, and I seemed to get better results. I haven't tried topping it with a foam/mousse. I would love to see how your hair does with just the souffle and just the foam as your stylers.

Erin Edison: I got their Weightless Air Dry Cream a long time ago because everyone raved about it and it makes my hair feel exactly like you’re describing. I never use it because it’s so gross feeling and it makes my hair so heavy that it hurts my scalp by day 2.

Amanda Lininger: Your hair looks gorgeous !!! I have been curious about that product forever, but I have not looked at the ingredients...my hair gets overmoisturized very easily (especially in the summer), so generally products with no protein do not do well with my hair. Bummer! But hey, it is what it is! Fabulous results as always!

Melanie B: The souffle is in my future to buy. I love the hydro style flexi jelly and my results are always good with that. But youre results are amazing, and rosie is the cutest

Everyyoueverymiau: Interesting review. Also, yes to normalizing nursing

Rebecca Minicozzi: Have you tried double washing? Def bumps up the bubbles

Erika Cortez: Hi! Do you still get a layered hair cut to avoid “triangle hair” I know it’s been a while since that video just wondering how you’re getting your haircuts now?

WavyHairCareBlog: Definitely gave you awesome definition!
