Hi guys welcome back to my channel if you are new here, i'm also new here, so you can also welcome me by leaving a comment just say: welcome or simply click the like button. Thank you now that you've done that my name is philippa, but on this channel i'm with goodbye lip, i seen fake lipper garrett, you don't get it! I forgot about it. Thank you in today's video i'm going to be talking about how i glue my natural hair to 16 inches. Yes, i have 16 inches and tips that you can apply to glue your natural hair, so without wasting much time. Let'S get right into this video before we get into the video. I just want to see that i'm not a professional, i'm basically sharing tips that helped me grow my natural hair with you. You can take something from this to apply to your natural hair journey to help you, but this is not professional advice. Now before i start sharing the more technical tips, i just want to say that first of all um every journey that you start starts from your mind. So first, you need to be mentally prepared to know that going out healthy, natural hair is is going to take some effort in time. You are going to need to invest some time and effort into it to be able to get the results that you deserve and, secondly, you need to not compare your heading with someone else's. You know everyone is unique and everyone's hair is unique. So the way your hair will grow is not the same way as someone's hair, so don't be on the internet and be comparing your hair growth to other people. We have different jeans and different biological makeups. So the way to switch someone's hair will go. It'S not going to be the same with the situation. Yours might grow faster than someone. Yours might look, you know fuller than someone else, and so someone else might look fuller than yours. Comparison is the thief of joy you're not going to enjoy your hedging. If you keep looking at other people's food and comparing it to notes so now that we have that out of the way, let's get into the more technical tips, let's talk about the signs of natural hair. Now our hair is basically dead cells coming out of our body and the oldest part of our hair at the tips or the ends. They came out first, so they are also the weakest part, and that makes sense because the oldest people in our society are usually the weakest people right. So you realize that in the first two to three years, that is when you experience the fastest hair growth, because there are new cells coming out of your body each time. But as the years get longer, then it becomes harder to retain the length because the ants which are the weakest parts, experience harsh conditions and if you don't take care of them, they are going to be breaking off. And before you realize you feel, like my hair's. Not growing anymore, or you know, i'm not seeing any changes in my hair, that's because the ends keep breaking off, and so a lot of our hair care should be focused mainly on you know, protecting the ends of our hair and then also stimulating our scalp to Produce more hair, basically to be able to grow healthy hair and to be able to retain length. The first thing you need to know is to learn about hair, to learn about hair in general and then to learn about your hair and how it differs from everyone's hair. So um, you need to know that there are different types of hair in africa. We mostly have type 4 hair, mostly, but not everyone has type 4 hair or type 4c hair. Your hair might be 4c. My hair is mostly 4b and a little 4c, so you first need to know what type of hair you have you need to know. The porosity of your hair, you need to you, take time in learn about your natural hair and take time to also love and appreciate it. That'S the number one tip i want to share with you guys. Secondly, after you've learnt about your natural hair after you know what type of hair you have, what porosity you have, then you can build a regimen around the type of natural hair that you have right. So a regimen is basically a plant to take care of your hair. That'S my definition of regimen. It'S basically a plan to take care of your hair. Where you decide what products you need to use in your hair, how often you're going to wash your hair? How often you're going to condition how often you're going to do protein treatment? What type of treatment you're going to incorporate in your hair gene to help your hair grow? So, basically, i believe that a measurement should be focused around first of all, making sure that your scalp is clean, because if your scalp is not clean, your pores are going to be clogged and your hair is not going to grow out and also your arrangement should Be focused on moisturizing, your hair and keeping your hair hydrated, because our natural hair thighs on hydration and moisture, so your regimen should be built around moisturizing, your hair and keeping your hair hydrated and also incorporating some other treatments that are going to stimulate your hair growth. So the second point is build a regimen. The third point, which is also related to the second, is to get products that work for your hair. So if you have type 4 hair or basically, if you have natural hair, certain products are not very good for your hair products that contain sulfates, for instance, are not good for your hair. So if you have relaxed hair before starting your natural hair, then you cannot use the same products that you are using on. Your relaxed hair for your natural hair, because most um shampoos and other products used for relaxation contain sore feet and when using your natural hair, do strip your natural hair of its natural oils and they will leave your hair dry. So you have to find products of lately a lot of products and not natural hair products on the market. But you need to do your research before you buy any product. You need to ensure that you read the labels on the product make sure that the ingredients used in the product are going to help you and help your hair grow still on products. You need to make sure that the products you are using for your hair contain a lot of natural ingredients. If the products contain too many ingredients with names you cannot pronounce is not for you. You need to make sure that there are lots of hair, bowel and natural ingredients in the products, because those are what will help your hair grow. The chemicals will strip your hair off its natural oils and leave your hair dry, leaving a prune to breakage. So also, you need to incorporate deep conditioning and floating treatments in your hair regimen now in case you don't know what deep conditioning is think of it as a more powerful conditioner and you leave it in your hair for longer, so that your hair can absorb certain Nutrients and things that are in the deep conditioner that will help your hair to me, moisturize and vitalize now protein treatment. How do i explain protein treatment so think of protein treatments as treatments for your hair? Now we know - or maybe we don't know so let me not assume so. Protein is what helps us. Um helps our hair grow in our news. There'S a particular protein keratin. That'S what helps our hair in our news grow and we can get some of this protein from the foods you eat. However, the protein that you eat is also going to. You know do a lot of work in your body in other parts of your body and that's why it's important to also apply the protein to your hair directly, so that your hair gets its nutrients straight from the protein treatment and doesn't have to just rely on The protein that you know your body is going to give it so from what i said earlier. We already know by now that our hair is made up of dead cells and cells are tissue right and from primary school. We were taught that what does protein do? Protein helps repair, onenote tissues or dead cells, so applying protein treatments to your hair. I believe we can imply the importance it's just going to help prepare some of the dead cells in your hair and things like that and keep your hair vitalized and strong. So that's the importance of incorporating putting treatment in your hair. However, it's important that we do it, i not more than once a month that advice, because there's something also known as putting overload where applying it too much. You end up damaging your hair rather than helping it, so i believe that we can incorporate protein treatment in your hair regimen by doing it once a month or once every two months, depending on how your hair, you know, is responding to the putting treatments and things Like that, it's important that, whatever you are doing to your hair, you're, observing your hair you're, taking pictures feeling it getting to know if it's breaking, if what you're doing to your hair is helping it or it's causing more damage so that you know what to stop And then what to keep doing? My next point is going to be about low manipulation, hairstyles and protective styling. It'S important that you do protective stuff, so you cannot have your natural hair out all the time. It'S important that you do protective styles to protect your hair and then let your hair rest for, manipulating it yourself. So putting your hair in like twists for a week or two. They help you not comb your hair, all the time and have your hands in your hair all the time, but sometimes people go overboard like someone can braid their hair today. Have it for about three weeks, take them down and the following day another set of weights. That'S too much, that's too much stress for the natural hair. You need to let your hair rest in between protective styling. Sometimes you need to wear your afro out. Sometimes you need to do other low manipulation. Hairstyles in between you know, having braids and cornrows, and all of that, so you need to do low, manipulative hairstyles like twists. Sometimes you can wear wigs without your natural hair, just so that you don't leave your hair in a style for too long, because when we wear our hair in mostly ways we tend to forget about it and not do anything to it. But you need to be constantly moisturizing. Your natural hair ensure that it's hydrated, it's probably hydrated, and all that - and the next thing i want to talk about is heat now. Heat is something that can help us in this hair journey or hits us applying heat directly to your hair is not advised it's not the best practice as much as possible. You should avoid applying heat to your natural hair at all, but if you can't - because i know sometimes we like to have our hair blown out so that we it can look voluminous and all that, but applying heat directly to our natural hair actually causes more damage. Heat can also be good, like i said um when it's not applied directly to the hair. That is when you do certain steam treatments to your hair and things like that. In those cases, the heat can be good, but applying it directly to your natural hair is not good and so sitting in the dryer like if you have relaxed hair before you know that when you go to the salon, sometimes to help your hair dry do do. Put on rulers and things like that and let you sit under the dryer for like 30 minutes and long hours, and this is applying heat directly to your hair. You can't keep doing that if you want to have healthy hair. Some people with natural hair still go to the salon and then they put down roulettes because they want their hair to be stretched out and they want to see the length and you want to have that blown out effect and things like that. But it's nice looks nice, but you're hitting your hair and you're going to end up getting heat damage. It'S going to ruin your kale pattern and all of that so as much as possible avoid applying heat directly to your hair. Also, you should avoid combing your hair when it's dry or detangling your hair. If i don't do anything to your hair, when it's dry as much as possible, make sure that your hair, like i've, been seeing over and over again make sure your hair is moisturized. Our head thrives on moisture. Okay, when your hair is dry, it's more prone to breakage and you're being damaged and all that so don't comb! Your head: don't manipulate your hair when it's dry apply just just apply some water to help you um easily detangle to help your hair come apart more easily. I think i might have already touched on my next point, but let me just say it again inside today's that don't abandon your hair in your protective style. If you wear braids or if you get braids done it doesn't mean that you're abandoning your hair or you're, forgetting about your face, you should you need to still take care of your hair when it's in a protective style. You still need to make sure that your scalp is clean, still need to make sure that your hair is moisturized and protective style. Maybe in subsequent videos i'm going to show how i keep my hair moisturized or how i take care of my hair in braids or in a protective style. You don't need to be afraid of trimming your hair trimming, your hair doesn't mean that you are cutting like some length away, because i know we are all trying to maintain some length here, but, like i've mentioned earlier, the ends of your hair are the oldest parts Of your head, and so they are the weakest. Sometimes they can. You know knot up and cause split ends, and things like that, so you need to cut those away because those are that's not healthy here. I know we are all trying to retain some length and get that waste length, hair and all that, but sometimes like i've said before the ends of our hair, the oldest part of our head, and so they are the weakest. And sometimes they are going to lighten up and get some split ends and all that and if we keep those split ends in our hair, it's just going to end up damaging more and more of our hair and then the length that we wanted to clean. In the first piece, i want to use it because it's going to break up eventually and not nicely so every once in a while. We need to get a trim, i'm not saying, go and cut off a lot of your hair. But maybe if you speak to your hair stylist or you show her how much you need to trim off based on assessment of your own hair, for instance, i i know i know i'm in need of a good trim and okay, maybe i can use like the Ends of my hair, if you can observe, there's some knots right here, there's nothing happening because i'm keeping it in for a while, it's just going to end up damaging more and more hair and not enough with no other parts of my hair, so i'll be getting A trim when i finish filming this video, but i'm smoking a lot looking a lot, but i just have a few more tips for you. Then wrapping up this video. I also want to see that you should learn to incorporate some ayurvedic um treatments and hair bowel products in your natural hair regimen. So you can incorporate this in your deep conditioning first, so you can use a prepackaged conditioner or you can diy one. So maybe in subsequent videos, i'm just going to show you how i diy my deep conditioners, my hair and things like that she learned to incorporate such an ayurvedic and hairball substances, um things like chibi powder, uh, thin, greek and a whole lot of other things. I'Ll be talking about a lot more of these things in subsequent reviews, and this is why you need to subscribe to this channel so that when i post those videos to be able to see them to wrap up everything that i've been seeing. If you do all these things that i've said once you're not consistently doing it, you're not going to see any change in your hair journey, you need to be consistent. You need to be doing these things regularly. You need to do it for at least about six months to be able to see the changes like to be able to actually see changes in your head. You need to be consistent and i'll say this like five times, but you need to be consistent and you need to be patient with your hair. You need to you know, love the process that you are in the journey that you are on, so that you'll be able to see the changes that are happening with your hair and again, you need to be consistent. Consistency is key. I'Ve said a lot. I i've given out a lot of you know: i've dropped a lot of gems in this video and i hope that be able to take something from this. At least you don't have to do everything all at once, but if you don't take anything away from this video just try and build a regimen know the basic regimen. Maybe i'll do a video another video on how to just build a basic regimen but basically start with a plan you're going to wash your hair, maybe once every two weeks, maybe once every week, depending on how much time you can have for your hair, you are Going to incorporate deep conditioning at least just do that to start with start with making sure that your scalp is clean, get in deep condition in at least once every two weeks and then go from there. You don't have to do everything all at once. You need to be patient with your hair and you need to be consistent. Thank you so much for watching this video. Thank you for tuning in. I hope that if you stay to the end, i'm really grateful. I hope that you've been able to pick a few tips from this and that you're going to subscribe to my channel.
