Thanks for being Part Of The FSE FAMILY!

Welcome to the video, so today, what we're gon na be focusing on is with crystal on our model. She doesn't want to lose a lot of length in her hair, but she also wants her hair to be healthy. So that's something that as hairdressers, we struggle with because of the fact that you know you want your client to be happy right, but you also need their hair to look healthy. So me and Krystal we decided on about three and a half three inches being taken off of her hair. So that's gon na get her hair back to a healthy state. You can see how weak it is right on the ends, so I go through there. I clean it up, I'm also cutting the back out of one length and the reason I'm doing that is. I want a nice solid line. Crystals also got a nice medium density of hair, so it's not super thick, so it works really well to cut that blunt line in the back and I'm gon na continue bringing all of her hair taking 1/2 inch parting at a time section at a time and Bringing it back and cutting that blunt line that blunt lines gon na give me a nice healthy appearance to her hair when we blow it dry, so I just again, you can see I take the half inch section, bring it back to me comb it down, and I cut a straight blunt line in the back nice and clean I'm gon na do the same thing on the opposite side, so just working my way up the head, combing it over the shoulder and then cutting that blunt line. Once I get this done. The other thing I want you guys to notice is that Krystal wears a center parting, so I want to keep everything nice and symmetrical as I work through it. So I talked to crystal she: did she want a bang? What was she looking for in the very front of her hair? She said you know, I don't really want a bang, but I do like those shorter pieces that I can kind of push back, which to me probably gives her that movement that she's looking for it keeps her haircut interesting without her losing a lot of length right. So I go through. I take diagonal forward partings, I bring them across her face over to the opposite side of the chair, and I cut basically with my fingers parallel to her jawline and the reason I do that is. That gives me a nice kind of over direction that pushes that weight keeps the length in the haircut but also gives her a nice angle on the very front of her face. So this is going to push the weight off of her face, really open up her face. So it's a great option. I also you'll notice. Just so you don't miss this part. I cut my guideline by pulling a little bit of hair down and cut it too. To match, but you'll also notice when I go through here, that I don't work all the way down the head shape now you could, but I didn't want to take away the length in the very front of her hair. So all the temple area, which is the longest lengths of her hair sitting in the very front - I don't touch those. I keep that at that blunt line that I cut in the back - and I just add these layers until I get to about the parietal Ridge. You'Ll see that I pull a little bit over and then that's where I cut that angle. So that gives me the life that I need, but it doesn't take away the length in the front of the haircut. So I continue all the way through doing that. Same angle, keeping my fingers parallel to which her jawline and now we're gon na style her up so we're gon na use the joy cope our whip. It'S a whipped foam. It'S a level 9 on there hold system which goes up to 10. So it's got a nice hold to it, it's great for building volume and also it gives a lot of condition and shine to the hair as well. So I go through. I blow-dry that in using a paddle brush, then I go through and I do some iron work just to smoother hair out and give a little bend to the hair, and then I finish it off with the joy ko power spray. This is a level 8 to 10 on the hold scale. It'S definitely got a great hold to it and it helped kind of separate those pieces that we created cutting the face frame. Here'S the end result guys. You can see all the pieces in the front, but how clean and blunt it looks in the back hope you guys like this cut. If you have any questions about it, hit me up on social media. Thank you guys so much for watching. I will see you on the next video

Julee Ann Garcia: This is exactly what i wanted my whole life and stylist always give me a shaggy or vshape cut! Thanks for making this video

pupperoni: Cant thank you enough for these videos. I’m about to graduate cosmetology school and I’ve learned more from your videos than i have my entire time in school. Also thank you for explaining precisely WHEN and WHY we use elevation and overdirection! For personal reference: face framing starts at 1:32 !

Klea Fiku: Love this, thanks for sharing this!!!! Made face framing so much easier to do!

grosslawn: Fantastic tutorial for all of us quarantined at home "attempting" to cut hair! This guy is fantastic!

Lumturia e Gatimit: Beautiful result! You did a great job!

kilalalune: This is exactly what I want. I have very thick, wavy and frizzy hair and I love my hair straight so I have been getting layers and v-cuts for a while, but found that it made my natural hair unwearable. Sometimes I don't have the time to straighten my hair and the layers add so much extra volume and craziness. I really want to try this because it is mostly one length, but has the shorter pieces in the front. That is the exact front look that I love. This haircut is beautiful. I took screenshots of the front and back (lol the back was hard because you never stopped moving the hair) and hopefully the hairdresser tomorrow can replicate it. I actually made the appointment because I tried cutting my own hair and now it is a mess so I probably won't have this exact cut, but I want her to keep this in mind as a goal.

susan waters: Fab, you make it look so easy and the effect is gorgeous!

Vítězslav Rozum: Thanks a lot, it is easy to understand and exactly what I need for my girlfriend in this corona time

Blondelightning: Thank you! I watched this last night and decided to try it this morning after my shower and it worked!! I love it! I haven't had my haircut professionally for about 8 years. I'm a natural blonde (although time is catching up to me and its more like a 'dirty blonde' as the called it back in the day) it's to my waist in the back, on a deep angle to a point in the middle, I guess you would call it... and the face framing I've been cutting with the scissors 1/2 open and sliding it down to get the angle, but never really liked it... when I curled it, it hid the mistakes pretty good, lol. I cut my bangs where I pull it to just the top of the tip of my nose and cut, it falls on an angle, which I like. I just got so tired of getting so much chopped off or it all looked choppy and I had to tied it up. My hair is very straight.... so maybe that was hard to cut, I dunno. Anyhoot, try this if you want, just take a tiny bit and see how it looks. You can always cut more, but ya can't cut less. Just sayin! Have a great day and stay healthy and take your vitamin D! Phyllis The Weaveanista: This is super easy & chic! it!

Coral Allon: Love this cut … it’s exactly what I’m after. No salons around where I live actually do as I show them. I’m such a nervous person when getting my hair cut anyway do you think I can create this look myself?

Josephine Farrugia: I love this cut. I'm going to grow out my layers and try to achieve this look. Matt should I trim my bottom layer regularly?

Joanne D' Mello: I love face framing layers, this haircut coz you get layers in the front plus length is not lost as you mentioned! i cut face framing layers at home by just watching a tutorial!

Robin Fox: I love how you cut a blunt line without tension but as a new (junior) stylist I think I'll struggle justifying cutting hair like this to my boss until after I come back from some courses she's sending me on :/

Eurasia Shakai: I really want Matt to break down the anatomy of the head shape because the way he describes it and the way my cosmetology book describes it. Two different ways for sure.

Bruxelles Coiffeur: just did this cut some days ago !

Laura Stacey: Definitely trying this!

Uma B: beautiful cut i want the same style

оксана бурбан: Que pena, que no hay subtítulos en español.((

My client requested me a few layers at the botton, I did but the end result was so choppy, I tried again and again to conect it but it was imposible, her hair is too straight. I am thinking now maybe she wanted this haircut and I did'nt figured it out at the consultation. Can you please make a video for layers at the botton with too straight hair. Thanks.

sojournerhouse: I really like this cut.

CelticGypsyChick: "She doesn't want to lose a lot of length" so I'm gonna cut 5 inches off!..at least it turned out GORGEOUS and I really like this guys channel. It's very helpful.

Rachana Pandya: Awesome

ILY KAWAII: Currently watching this as my client processes

Gina D'Andrea: If you overdirect everything to the back, I'm surprised it's not slightly A-line.

Jay Guardado: I love your videos, for me UR A MaSTER <3

HeadHome: Your best video yet!!

Ranan Moshe: Perfect

Adelina lien rexhaj: Do you cut everything when shes looking down??

Mayuri Rai: I love this cutting my hair is already cutting this way

Nithya Ranathunga: Superb.....

Anika: Now how do I do this on myself?

Lu Pineda: This is exactly what I've been asking for. But...I cut too much off the temple area....I'm kinda bummed

sofia sofia: Bringing all the hair behind, won't create longer hair in the front?

Manik Kumar: Simple super

Vino Veritas: So I was told in beauty school that if you have your client keep her head tilted forward for the whole back part of the cut (when cutting square) the shape of her head will cause the shape to round when she lifts her head naturally. True or false?

Hal: I like your hair Crystal. I'd love to see it curled

Kari Short: Pretty ❤

Sourabh Soni: You save my life❤

Maria Garcia Ramirez: The first piece you cut to fram the face was that your guideline?

Akash Pandit: So so so nice......Love From India Sir I watch Your All Videos.....

MegaTinni: You can see the moment you start cutting in the front, anxiety sets in and her smile disappears...should keep checking in with the client when doing that...for me, you took off too much in the front

Akhum vlogs: I didn't understand can you please tell me which hair spray you using?? Please reply me

iluvcolin&ewan: I want to go to my stylist and tell them I want this but how would I ask for this cut? I mean what is the cut called? How would I explain it to her? I love this cut. My hair is a little bit shorter than hers though. I used to get layers but it didn't grow right so I made it all one length even the face but after I saw hers I want mine like that. Beautiful.

Sharon: What's more beautiful guys, layered haircut or this one? I can't decide...

N V Clarke: Oh no. Went a bit scissor happy with the front pieces

Alexys Loyal: Nice, Only that's way over 3 1/2 inches taken off by time he's done!

love 777: Be my stylist I love it so much!!:)

Helena Lovelock: Why do some hairdressers when the cut the back pulling it down and cut holding it with fingers and don’t let the hair hang and some hairdressers don’t use their fingers to hold the hair but let it hang and just cut without holding it ???

dcdddddd1: Nice haircut

Amarjit Klair: How much she paid for this hairstyle

انتي روحي امي:

It's My Good Life: I have knee length long hair of same length.. please suggest some cut .. I have oval face

Lori Longstaff: Add a smile to the girl and your video will be great!

Underyourbedeyes: why is this like impossible to get in salons tho.
