I cut my own curly hair into layers at home and it actually wasn't scary or hard! I also show you how to give yourself a curly fringe/bangs! Take off a little, or big chop, it's up to you! Be careful though, Curly hair springs back so it looks A LOT shorter when it dries! Disclaimer: I am NOT a professional, so please bear that in mind if you choose to follow this tutorial.

Hey guys, it's like a here and today I wan na show you guys how I did this haircut and if you guys have seen me before then you know this is a little bit different to what I usually look like. I don't usually have a fringe fringes. Are just so cozy or fall, and for winter I don't know why that is. I'Ve just always felt like that, so this is my new little accessory going into the colder months. Thank you, my forehead wore. This is not the first time I've done this. I have been cutting my own hand for as long as I can remember. I just started like going to the salon. I want you guys to comment down below. Tell me what is your worst ever salon experience? I just think they're gon na be really funny to read so go ahead, and do that give me some entertainment and let's get on with the video there's actually really important to use salon scissors or the sharpest pair of scissors that you own when you're going to Do your own hair cut? If you use blunt scissors to trim your ends, you can actually damage the strands of your hair and you might actually end up causing more split ends, which is the opposite of what you want to do. You are doing the trim to get rid of split ends, not to cause more of them, so go over to Amazon, get yourself some salon scissors. You can actually find some that are really inexpensive, so I'll try to link some down below so that you guys can check them out. Just keep that in mind, if you're going to trim your hair use the right scissors, I'm actually going to show you three steps for how to cut your own hair at home. The first is a wet cut. The second is a dry cut and the third is be searched and destroyed. Alright, let's cut our hair. Then the first thing you want to do is make sure that your hair is freshly washed, and you want to make sure that it's soaking wet spraying it with some water and also you want to make sure that it's all brushed forward like this. I did this when I had conditioner on my hair so that it was easier to detangle. So that was a good tip. If you need to detangle your hair, just put some conditioner on it and then I rinsed it out. So you guys we just wan na get all of your hair to go as far forward as it can possibly go and you don't want it to be any tangles and you want it will to be smooth. So I'm even taking like this really thin comb and I'm gon na just make sure there's no tangles, especially up at the top. Did you hear that? Is it especially not up here so when your hair is all combed out like this, and as straight as you can get it, you just need to tie it off up here, and then you just want to pull this straight. So what this does is it gives me some really subtle layers, because this hair at the front of my head is gon na be shorter, then the hair that has come all the way around and it's gon na be here see this hair is longer than this Hair, so it's just gon na give me these really subtle layers for my curls and just figure out where you want to cut it. I know that I want to cut about this much of my hair off, which is about 4, maybe 5 inches or for the end of my hair. So that's all gon na go so I'm just gon na take my scissors and a little bit scary chop. So once you've chopped it, it's gon na look all nice and freshly cut. I really love hair. That looks like Pierce like nice and full at the ends, and now you can go ahead and take the head on down and already you guys can see that there's some layers, you got some shorter ones up here and then it goes longer at the back. So now the next really important step is to make sure that you just stow your hair as normal. So just do your normal wash routine just make sure that using the normal products that you usually use of styling it in the way that you usually do, because that is gon na be really important for when we move on to the next step. So now I'm gon na use some leave-in conditioner and just apply that all over my hair and now I'm gon na take this coconut curling cream, a frog cam - and this is what's gon na define my curls. No, you just need to scrunch your hair or just do exactly what you normally do. So I usually scrunch my hair. So that's what I'm gon na carry on doing it, scrunch it up baby. So for the next step, I need to wait for my hair to be dry, which means I need to wait till tomorrow, but you guys can see it right now. So now that my hair is dry, we can move on to step two, which is the dry cut. So the reason for this being in two steps is because, if you've got curly hair, then you're not really gon na know how your cut turned out until your hair dries. So when your hair is dry, then you can see how different parts of your hair curl up to different lengths. Some of your hair is gon na be curlier than other parts of your hair. So you need to kind of fix. The first cut with a dry cut, so I like doing the wet cut, because that just gives me a really even base to work with, and then I like to do the dry cut just to fix a few pieces here and there, like. Maybe a few of my wavier pieces seem a bit longer than the curlier pieces, so I might just give those a little bit of a snip just to make sure that I've just got a nice shape to my hair and that I don't have any struggling parts That just sticking out and yeah it just really helps me to kind of fix my hair up and give it the right kind of shape that I want. I always wear my hair on the side. I think I'm actually take a bit more over to one side. Cuz I like to have a bit more volume over here. This is what I'm gon na be working with. This is how I would usually style my hair, so I'm just going to actually just start cutting dry pieces cuz. I want have like some nice defined layers. I can see here that there seems to be a bit of bulkiness around here, so I'm going to try and get rid of some of that, and also I'm gon na cut the fringe in because I just I'm feeling a fringe. This fall. Okay, just gon na snip that off so it's actually also really easy to find any pieces of damaged hair. When your hair is dry, they just stand out more than when it's wet. I got ta say goodbye to this perfect little curl, it's so cute, but it's got ta go it's too long. These bits. I'Ve got some really light pieces of blonde right there on the end, not sure if you can see, but it's really light. So I'm going to get rid up, bye, bye, blonde another thing that you also want to make sure that you're doing is kind of like skimming down the hair, rather than giving yourself a really really blunt kind of cut. I like to do it like this, and this is to just kind of hold the scissors against the hair and close it really slowly, as you make your way down the hair, then this way you'll get like a really gradual kind of cut with the curl, and It won't look so blunt and it won't leave the coal looking like it's literally just been like chopped willy-nilly like a scarecrow. It'S one of these two pieces that are framing my face to be the same length as well. So I can see this one is a little bit longer. I actually want to make both of them shorter, Oh salty, this one first, so for the fringe that I want to cut, I only take a small section of hair like this. Is that really tiny section of hair and I've been cutting fringes in my own hair, since I was about 13 years old, so I'm not worried about this part at all. I was gon na pull it down and I found that usually it works best if the hair is around about Malpais, so I'm just gon na snip. That'S how I want my fridge to be that's how it looks when it's like completely undefined. But of course we can fix this up with a little bit of definition. Now you can go ahead with step three, which is pretty much the search-and-destroy part just to find any split ends, any damage clicking ends and just snip them just to save you doing. This later on, just go ahead, and do it right now, seeing as you're cutting your hair anyway. So to do this, I sort of just run the hair through my fingers, see if anything stands out to me as being split or damaged. If I do find any damaged hair, it's usually in the bleached section, so most of those are gone, so I'm hoping I don't find many more. I mean this is really time consuming and it's not very effective, but I know that some of you guys are just gon na want to do this out of habit anyway, I used to do this all the time when I was first transitioning managed to find a Couple, you know there could be thousands and you're not gon na sit here and get thousands of them so actually really happy with how my ends are looking at the moment. They'Re looking really healthy, I'm not seeing very many split ends or any damaged ends at all. So that is really really good for me, just family one, the little supper forget it. I mean this step is completely up to you. If you want to do this step on are really not that effective. It just makes me feel a little bit better. So they'd have it step two and three are done for me. I can't find any more split ends, although I am sure they're gon na be lurking in there somewhere and I'll probably find them at some point when I'm just running my fingers through my hair, but for right now I'm really happy with how my ends are. I'M really happy with how the shape is, and I'm really happy with how my friend has turned out and now that I have applied some styling product to it. So all I did was, I used some Cantu and a little bit of water and I just wrapped the clothes around my finger, and this is pretty much exactly how I wanted it to turn out. I think this is gon na. Do me perfectly for going into autumn and for fall and the new year. I just feel like it looks really cozy, please. Let me know if you like my new hairstyle. I know it's a little bit different. I haven't had a fringe in a couple of years. Now so leave me a comment. Cherie Sutty: I followed your advice for a cut tonight and it so far looks great!!!! Thank you so much!!! And the worst ever was when I was a child and my foster mom cut my hair wet and didnt know about shrinkage..... baby bangs were not a thing yet‍♀️I also had "wings"..... what a mess!!!!

Narjé Jo: Adore the fringe on you. The last step is actually how I get rid of split ends too haha. I thought it was just me

Deja Arielle: I was so nervous watching the wet cut but it all turned out really cute . I wish i was that comfortable with my hair . I usually apply heat to cut mine but I’m gonna give the curly cut a try.

Jace Ville: I just got my hair curled! Thanks for the tip

Elephants Remember: Wow! I love this way of cutting curly hair. Based On this video alone I'm a new subscriber. I can't wait until mine grows long enough to cut it this way. So easy and simple. I love your hair! can you do a video on night time hair prep for keeping your hair protected when you sleep and wake up with such perfect curls? How did you go to sleep and wake up so flawless hair? Please show us how?! Haha

Christian Guillory: Great video, the technique definitely works except I’m too scared to cut as much as you did so I didn’t get much layering in the front. I still have a lot of damaged ends in the front. Wish you would have explained what to look for while dry cutting to keep the shape nice. I’m too scared to hack away at the front

Yessica Martinez: Just found your channel and I love it!! Have been searching for a diy haircut for super curly hair!! Thank you!

Pearl Fernando: Looks so cute! May give me the courage to do fringe:):) thank you your videos are so helpful

Nolivia: I love your method and you are stunning! ❤

Teran Shankle: I know this is an old video.. but I was just looking up tips and stuff on how often I should trim my daughters curly hair & I about died when I seen your hair! You have the most beautiful curls I've ever seen (besides my little girls lol but her curls and hair texture looks very similar to yours!) ❤❤❤

cassandra cano: freshly cut ends are always to die for

Ophelia Merali: Oh my God one time i went to the salon for a bob, and i got a bob for sure, but with one block layer! She also diffused it on max heat and burned my curls to a crisp! Don't regret it though because it basically forced me to research natural curly hair care to fix the mess!

chenise flowers: New sub (since last night). Firstly you're beautiful. Secondly thank you making your channel. It's much appreciated. Lastly I just cut my hair last night by myself. Story time: I once went for a trim before a dinner party and had straightened my hair before the cut. This was done because I really just wanted 2 to 3 inches of a trim. Homie had a different plan... I sat there watching (like a passive ass) for about an hour as she took about 8 inches off my head. It went from almost tail bone length to just below my shoulders.... STRAIGHT!

Amber Charles: Your hair came out so good! Love the bangs.

Flutterby 84: I literally did this the other day! Thanks for sharing. So happy to find a uk curly girl video

beth: OH MY LORD THIS HELPED ME SO SO MUCH, I bleached my own hair yesterday like an ombre kinda look, and the parts I bleached WERE DESTROYED like my curls (the bleached ones) were straight and nasty. I was like ok I’ll just cut ny hair, because I like short hair anyways I don’t mind it. So I looked up tutorials and finally found this one and it helped me a lot. I just cut my hair like 5 inches (my length was at about the middle part of my ribs) and now the curls are back again!❤️ THANK YOUUUU and it’s more voluminous now I am never again bleaching my own hair NEW SUBBIE❤️✨

And then the Infires Nation attacked my hearteu: Worst experience: I have really thick, coarse hair that is curly, but not in little perfect ringlets like Lana's. Mine are larger wavy curls that are very frizzy. I went to a new hairstylist one day, and she asked me if I wanted bangs, excitedly I told her yes. About a quarter way through brushing my hair, she began to sweat and nervously tell me "oh my, you have very thick hair", no shit sherlock. Half way through, she took a break because her arms were tired. With every cut, she proceeded to compliment my hair in a way that was very forced. By the end of it, it didn't look so bad! I was very happy and left the salon, but within 10 minutes of walking out, my hair frizzed and turned into a hobo afro. I had to straighten my hair everyday until it grew out. I always cut my own hair now.

Cassandra Akens: Thanks for helping me!!!! First time trimming my hair myself!

Amaya Searcy: Just letting some of you know (if you have curly hair that is short or medium length) don’t EVER cut your hair dry if you are scared of short short length! ALWAYS cut dry after freshly washed and styled like you normally do so that you will see how it will look normally, never cut it wet because of shrinkage

Adriana Luna: Thank you so much for this video! I’m definitely gonna try it cause I’ve been trying to get my curly hair in layers to create volume because when I check those specialized curl salon places they’re pricey and sis don’t got money

Allie’s voyage: Had my hair cut professionally once ( and for the last time) left the salon with a pyramid on my head! never again! i've been cutting my own for the last 25years! love me my curls!

Sharon FLOYD: You did a great job your hair looks very pretty

Tracey leigh: Thanks so much for sharing :-) I always cut my hair the way you done it when wet. But then leave it there and it just dont ever look that great. Cant wait to try this on my curly hair :-) By the way your hair is beautiful...x

Alexandra Edlin: Your curls are everything omg I love them

Ashley Walters: so many hairdressers charge so much for a really good curly cut! the one place in town that does a good cut charges $100, so this is so helpful because I won’t have to go there every four weeks like they recommend! thanks!!

Alicia Anderson: Every salon experience I've had has been so horrible honestly. But I'm 2 yrs into my heat damage recovery so your giving me good tips for layering after i reach my goal length

Kimika: I used to get Japanese straight perms before i went natural, and one time i went to a salon that was super cheap. I left the salon but a few months later i noticed i was growing bangs...turns out the chemicals burned off my hairline and it was growing back lmao

nvrnakednails1: Really beautiful! Worst salon experience is when I went to get my hair done in Brooklyn, NY, and she glued a track into the back of my hair. Which I really didn't understand bc my hair was already long. Anyway I've never had a track glued in my hair before. She told me," Oh a little baby oil will take it right out." Well it took more like three bottles taking my hair out right with it!

Katelyn D: My hair looks awesome thank you ❤️

Yeislin Ruiz: Girl your curls are gorgeous and your hair looks so healthy! I've been thinking about cutting my hair short but than I see your beautiful long hair and makes me not want to do it.

Melory: I tride it and it came out amazing! My curls Pop again! Thank u so mich♡

Bethany Simon: Worst salon experience: the guy who cut my hair was so rude to me. I was a teenager and I wasn't sure exactly what haircut I wanted, so I showed him a picture from a magazine and said "layers like this." He seemed so annoyed at me the whole time. He was the only stylist I ever had that didn't try to make conversation, but he just seemed so angry, like he was taking it out on my hair. Maybe he was having a bad day, idk. But he gave me bangs (which I did not ask for) and it was like he remembered I didn't want them after he had already cut some of them. There was just a strip of hair in the middle of my forehead that went to my eyebrows--too wide to be part of layered bangs, but too thin to be straight-across bangs. It looked horrible. I could not believe how bad this haircut was, and how he practically shoved me out of the chair once he was done. I spent the next few weeks waiting for the horrible bangs to grow out, wondering what I had done to this man to make him so upset that he ruined my hair.

Kelly Kavanagh: Ur Fringe looks great.. I've been thinking about having a fringe 4 a while now and thanks 2 u I'm gonna go 4 it xxxx

Marie F: I like the end result. The shape is really cute and I want to try this but I'm worried about how it will look when straightened. Most of the time I wear my hair curly but every so often I flat iron it.

D T: Watching this when I have straight hair haha but your curls are so gorgeous!!!

Child of God: Went to the salon for an layered bob (back when I was 12). The hairdresser flatironed my hair after cutting it. My mom (straight hair) was happy with the result and so was I. Guess who ended up looking like Joan of arc after her washing her hair ? ME. #shrinkage I never went back to a salon after that. XD

HolaSoyFlavia: This is the first video I’ve ever seen of yours & for some reason I felt like I could trust you so I cut my hair on my own for the FIRST TIME EVER! & I lovveeeeeee it! Thank youuuu

Korrin Winters: I love the fringe!! I want to try it but I am scared hehe. So I did the unicorn cut once upon a time and loved it at first. But then I realized the layers that way were not the shape for my hair. It just made it look thick at the shortest parts and and so thin at the longest parts. As if I were holding on to length that needed to be cut. So I personally would rather the rounded layer look that compliments my type of curls a bit better. Yours turned out beautifully!!

Dancing Doll: I started on the wet cut for my wig. It turned out so great i squealed and i think my neighbors yelled, to which i apologized. Anyway, then she said 24 hour drying, and that this was a good way for a base. So! Since my mom said it looks good so far and i have to wait 24 hours anyway today, i will come back to finish this awesome video! ☺❤ The cut looks great on her, i just hope i can duplicate the techniques well.

Ame -me: Im so trying this this weekend. Thank you.

Katherine Rodriguez: my hair was so heat damaged and my curls would’ve not look this good if I wouldn’t have followed this tutorial.

JustDawn: Wowww! Your hair looks like a beautiful wig! So healthy and gorgeous it doesn't seem real. I Love it. I came here bcuz its for curly hair, after looking at your head full of bouncy curls, I now realize my hair is just super wavy.

Glenny Severino: You are so beautiful and your hair looks amazing

Ame -me: I would say almost all my salon visits sucked. I had to put a smile on and thank them, even when I hated the style. They either cut too much, use products you do not like, or style it weird. Being mixed in the US has made it hard for people to do my hair right. So I stopped going. Why pay if tpur never happy? Sorry. I rambled..

Julia Guardiola: Love this! I’m so going to try it!! New subscriber. Much love from Cali xo

The Ninth: Wow, this is her real hair? Holy shit. Beautiful and I have curls thanks for this video!!

AncillaLubrano: You’re hair is soooo gorgeousssss!! I am loving how you’ve cut it! <3

Tammy Dowell: I never cut my hair my self. I'm trying to grow out my die. It looks great thanks.

Natalia Araujo: Queria tanto que tivesse legenda em Português amo os seus vídeos so nao entendo inglês

Trish Pipkins: Your hair looks gorgeous as always.

Crystal Mateo: Love this video, I am going to do this Asap! :)

Bianca Barata: this is an excellent video!! thanks!!

Kamogelo Maile: That looks so cute!

Hey-Its-Ley :3: I have natural curls while my sister has straight hair, she took me to her stylist and she promised that I was gonna have silky frizz free platinum hair... long story short she double bleached, died, put a relaxer on my hair, blow dried and straightened my hair in one sitting... and it all fell out

esml: the fringe is soooo cute! and your curls look juicier/healthier than ever *________* and OMG at you using Blackpink's Whistle instrumental as your opening song O.O

Kanysha .Burton: Your hair turned out great! I need to get my haircut, but I don't know if I have the confidence to do this myself, LOL.

Mademoiselle B.: Love it

yanna mendoza: sis i need a nighttime routine cause my hair don’t be looking like that

MeTuOO7: OMG! Thank U For This & Fringe Looks FaB!

voicesinthewoods: Thank you for this video! What kind of hair brushes do you use for your curly hair?

Zoe Adriaanse: Worst experience: I wanted lighter hair and I did it myself. I probably dyed it 3 times within 6 weeks. I was going to dye the fourth time, so I went to get my hair straightened cause its easier to apply the dye. My hair seemed perfectly normal with the wash and go's, curls popped, I was goldie locks. So once the hair was straightened they were having a tough time getting the end straight and i couldn't understand why... My end were like dead, it looked like Barbie hair gone hella wrong... I told them they could cut the damage... my hair was at ribcage length, they cut it above my collar bone... I later dyed my hair darker with henna, all the unhealthy parts are gone, its growing, its bouncy and shiny but I'll never ever ever dye my own hair again. 2 years of growth disappeared within minutes.

Marina Swan: Your hair is so springy and beautiful and perfect

Illyanna Nunez: when i was in third year my stepmom took me to get what i considered a big chop. my hair was rather straight, about mid back length (mind you, i was pretty short back then and still am) so when it was cut, it was done about mid neck... it gets worse. the stylist cut weird and choppy layers in it. when it dried it was about chin length and honestly looked like a voluminous boy cut. never again. now i like my hair mid neck length cause it accentuates my curls and makes it more bouncy

SariJiGo: I love this video!! and your fringe. You are the best <3

Joy'sCurls: My worst salon experience is that I went to get my hair bleached platinum blonde and she burned off all the hair in the top middle of my head so her boss had to buzz my head with clippers to even it out. I was forced to rock the Amber Rose.

Carmen C: Just subscribed, great tips thanks!

Sandra Branoff: Just tried this and it came out great! I have annoying curly hair..ugh..Thx for your video

Paige Ford: Love your hair! The prettiest curls in earth

Jasmine Keaton: Thank you so much! Awsome video

Gavi: I am really tempted to try to fringe part out, I've always wanted a fringe ever since I was younger, going to a stylist is always iffy for me because I'm not the best a speaking up when I don't like something. But I still dont know if I should try this on myself

Jesse Rogers: My bad salon experiences all end up with me getting the "Tracy Beaker" :'( thanks for the video, I've finally moved out so there's no longer free family haircuts, so need to brave the diy method

Gypsy Gyz: You are the cutest! Thanks for lots of helpful info and for keeping it real...1000s off those lil split end suckers! We'll never get them all! LOL

SimGoddess07: Yours turned out awesome! Great tutorial. What brush is that? Link please?

S Has: Beautiful hair

lady: I like your cut! My worst haircut was when i went in for a trim. To someone who told me they could cut curly hair very well. I had great long curly hair. I just wanted a trim. He cut it.........then took the thinning shears all the way around my hair starting from up fairly high. All my curls got cut into and I had this horrible "feather" effect going on. It took years for my hair to recover from that cut. Just to grow it out to the point to where I could cut all the thinned curls off and have short hair, took years. After that, I never trusted anyone to touch my hair besides my mother. But, she lives very far away.

M*chelle M*chelle: Perfect look omg so in love Lana

Sakura Luna_IX: Gorgeous

NaturalNa Ibiza: YesI had a lot of cases when I went to heardresser i was cut so shot! Terrible experience and I want start to do by myself!

Mercades Casarez: Just want to say I love your hair I am currently recovering from heat damage and your hair and my hair are not the same but yours is definitely something to aspire to. Oh one question what’s the name of the lipstick your wearing love the color.

Ashley Bond Beauty: Omg your hair looks so cute!!!

Katherine Rodriguez: I love it !!

Jessica Knight: She makes it look so easy

Cara Mitchell: OH MY GOD THANK YOU Ms Rona got people hair crazy and I needed this cuz I think imma jump on lol

Kaylee Long: I've been waiting for this!!!

D.C. D.C.: I went to a salon and they refused to cut my hair because they didn't know how to work with mixed girl hair. I went to a different one and they cut it wayyy to short and I've been doing my own hair since ☺

Allison Adele' Septoo: Love your new hair cut
