Begin by dividing the hair from left to right then divide the hair from front to back when sectioning use your color track. Crop clips for maximum control begin. Your first cutting section by taking two diagonal back sections and natural fall push the hair against the head to find the natural fall over direct. Your subsection to 90 degrees with a finger angle, going 45 degrees in a Down. Yin manner. Use your finger angle as your cutting guide and point cut, to create an invisible line, then divide the hair in the back from left to right, taking the left side over direct everything to the center back and cut the hair in the same fashion. As you did in the center back repeat this process on the opposite side, using your craw clip for security visually check, your haircut in the back begin cutting the front by taking a diagonal forward section with the hair that you have secured left in the front. Do not over direct this section, cut this section where it lives in the same fashion as you cut the back continue by pivoting, your sections till you reach the front hairline section and over directing every section to the previous cutting in the same fashion, point cutting for An invisible line repeat the steps on the opposite side if desired, cut the back baseline by combing, the hair natural fall and then cutting to your desired length. I recommend point cutting for a softer finish with the hair blown dry. We will cut the front sections to create softness around the face. Take a diagonal back section then slightly twist the hair, placing your scissors underneath the twisted portion of this section select the slide your scissors up and open and close as you move your way up for a softer bang like finish. Take a 2 inch diagonal forward section. Over-Direct the section to the opposite side and then slightly mimic. This section by point cutting the hand, then repeat the angling technique on the opposite side, for balance for an even softer finish, use deep point cutting to create texture and separation within the hair. louandbarb: Your tutorials are excellent. I hope that you will film more.

Betty Dain Creations: Using the 45 degree angle creates a stronger transition within your layers allowing for less visibility within the layers. Using a straight line will create more of a visible line within the layers.

Jared Bradshaw-Vinson: Thanks for the tutorial!! One quick question! When you split the back left and right you seemed to leave the lower section alone. Should that be cut bottom to top just like the middle diagonal section?
