Hi, my name is Keith, I'm from Pittsburgh and I'd like to know if wearing a hat everyday increases, the risk of me losing my hair, no Keith's wearing a hat doesn't increase the risk of you losing your hair, nor does everyday shampooing blowing it with a hair. Dryer or combing it now, people often when they first start losing their hair will wear. I had to try to conceal that hair loss and then continued loss during that time, as mistakenly blamed on the hat, when, in fact is just the natural progression of the hair loss. But I will say that anything that pulls tightly on the hair can cause hair loss. So if you are going to wear a hat, do so in such a way where you're not pulling too tight on the hair.

Ganderlow: I've worn a hat every single day since I was 14. I'm 22 now and I have a head of hair like Thor.

CC: the doctor didn't take into account that people who wear hats wear them frequently/daily and the hat itself becomes dirty and is carrying more bacteria each time you wear it. This is bad for your scalp and your hair which can lead to hair loss. You must clean hats frequently (especially if you sweat while wearing it) or else there is a potential for bacterial infection/uncleanliness, etc.

TheWhateverGuy: I can confirm wearing a hat causes my hairline to recede more... How I know this? I've been religiously wearing a hat after highschool everyday up until the age of 30... I look at my old pictures, and I had a hairline since the age of 25... Then it slowly starts to recede because of constantly wearing a hat... My dad and all my brothers still has their hairline.. They never wear a hat, go figure..

fuzybugzzy: It's probably genetic if you're losing hair because of that, my father has worn a cap everyday for 20 years and his hair is full and doesn't have any gray either. If you're already prone to hair loss though better not risk it.

Adilson Baptists: I don't know about this hat thing but my dad wears a cap everyday day and at 66 still has a full head he has no baldness in his family its all genetics and everybody wore hats in the 1900's not everybody was bald

dontbtoxic: So wearing a hat tightly, meaning it’s tugging on your hair like you said causes hair-loss

Jojo: So my issue is if you wear a baseball cap made of 100% polyester and you have a polyester allergy, yeah it can cause hairloss and ruin your scalp

Call Me B L T: I wear a hoodie most of the day everydayI get nots in my hair sometimes and pulling my hair out almost constantly. But my hair still remains thick. But I’m scared about when I get older, Im i gonna have hair loss? Can I go bald one day if I pull out to much hairs, or does it just cause hair thinning. Really wanna know this before I make the worst mistake of my life by wearing my hood all the time. And the hat I wear isn’t like a cap, it’s a hood and it’s not to tight.

El Eritreano: My mom always told me that wearing a hat will make me go bald almost my whole live

Jakhcdbsksh: Why would it? I fart on my dog every minute while balancing two boiling hot noodles on my underarm hairs.

Mr.Ronald Mason: I think you should go to the doctor or hair check up

Spectonimous: How does he know? He's not wearin a hot, nor is his hair fallin out.

No intimidation: I don't believe nothing this doctor says. For me , wearing a hot does cause hair lost

SemiMa1ic: i got dreadlocks and i only got some caps who i think are a little bit smaller so it is kinda tight but not too tight

Reckz RS: Shampoo does cause hair loss it makes ur hair thin and thin by the day

NEDTHEPRODUCER: wearing a hat every day of your life weather it’s tight or not definitely will cause baldness. i wore a hat every day from the time i was like 12 until i was like 14 and i actually had a big bald spot. i stopped wearing hats and my hair stopped thinning and got thicker and the spot isn’t there anymore.
