You know what I did once Brittany, what I bleached my own hair like five times, everyone welcome back to my channel, so we are here again with. I think that I know you're like official on this channel, so Tasha, it's her third video with me, and I know if you guys, are sick, seeing her yet no, but she already come in because I think two weeks ago we cut her hair. How are you liking the hair case so far? Honestly, it's so much better. I don't have to like spend hours trying to take the mouse out. You don't have talked about yeah. I love it ain't. Nobody got time for that, but today we wanted to first of all this girl right here. She wants to go blind. We'Re gon na do a bleach wash. She gets. Some of this pigment out and bleach wash is a lot more gentler, been throwing on straight bleach and damaging her hair potentially. But another great thing is: yes: she has pigment on her hair. Yes, this is in virgin hair, but her hair is extremely extremely healthy and in very, very good shape. So, if you're out there, if your stylist or even if you are just a regular person who goes to salon, you have to analyze the hair and wise your own hair and say honestly, can my hair take this cow, my clients hair? Take this. You know and don't be seriously, you like, don't be afraid to say no, because some people's hair is just done. It also just depends on your natural hair type. Like me, for instance, I have very fragile hair just naturally, so my hair can't take a lot. So I don't do a lot to my hair. Satoshis hair is very strong and it's a very good shape. Right now, her actual hair is like kind of more coarse, so the actual strand is a bit thicker, so it can take a lot more where my strand is very, very fine, so I could just even my healthiest string on my head. I could pull it apart. Like that and it's gon na break like just instantly so um, yes, we are gon na get started. You know what I did once Brittany, what I bleached my own hair like five times a week. I was when I was 19. I didn't even know you what happened. Nothing. My hair was still there and then oh lady. I went to this lady to fix it and she's a damn area took a beat down. Okay, guys, the top secret recipe to a bleach wash also known as a soap cap is equal parts clarifying shampoo powder, Lightner, also known as bleach and developer. Here, I'm getting my mixing bowl and I'm getting a clarifying shampoo. You use any one that you want, I'm putting that in next I'm getting a scoop of powder Lightner. This is Schwarzkopf blonde me, my personal favorite at the moment and, lastly, I'm adding my developer, I'm using a 40 volume which is the highest volume that you can use legally, at least because I'm just going to go for it and see how wide I can get Because there is so much pigment on her hair, I'm not playing any games right. So I take her to the shampoo bowl. You want to take your client and wet her hair per usual and then I would use gloves because my hands were kind of trashed. The next day - but I don't know - sometimes I don't like using gloves, but I would totally suggest doing it when you're touching bleach with your bare hands and then I'm going to start applying that to her ends. Now the reason why you want to start applying from the ends and then the roots is because at the roots you're getting the body heat from her scalp, so heat equals faster higher processing. So you want to apply to the ends first and then start applying it to the roots, because the roots are going to accelerate because of her body heat. This is so important. You guys, if you were to apply the lightener directly to the root area of her hair and the product will, like, I said, accelerate faster. You will result in hot routes now what hot routes are is when the root of the hair is a shade or two lighter than the mid strand or ends of the hair. It'S a common occurrence when people lightened their hair at home themselves and their roots end up all weird and orange and we'll just like hot mess. So maybe that's why it's called hot roots, because it's a hot mess. So now you guys know that the scalp produces heat and he makes color process faster than if it were on the mid strand or the ends. So when you start to notice it lightening all you're going to do is watch it. You guys just watch the color change and you'll, see it and make sure the entire hair is saturated. So that way, you do not end up with weird spots and lines and just weirdness like that, whenever you're working with bleach, it is very visual, whether you're doing a soap cap or whether you're doing actual highlights or anything like that, it's very visual you have to Watch it it's not like: okay set a timer for 30 minutes and then you're done it's like baking, a cake. If you watch it and you see when it turns golden brown, that's how you know that it's done and see look how light her hair got so far. So we're going to rinse this and see where we are. I decided to do a second round of bleach, washing because I saw that her hair was still a little dark, and on top of that, it could take it. So you kind of have to assess each client's, hair and see. Can their hair take another bleach wash or should I just blow it out, send her home and then ask her to come back in a week or two? You kind of have to assess it but, like I said so, Tasha has very, very, very strong, healthy hair. So her hair could take it and it is just reacting to the bleach wash very well. We are getting to where we want to go so here I am again applying eteri ends just working it through and watching it get lighter. Now, if you're not a stylist and you're a regular client watching this, I want to make a disclaimer. You need to be open-minded when you are changing your hair, color, okay, because sometimes your stylist may need to send you home that day and you need to come back in a week and yes, you're going to have to pay for it. It'S an investment. So you have to be patient with your hair color. It is not like when you go to the store and you see that girl on the box and it just comes out. However, you want it and no note, that's not how it works, be patient and be understanding of your stylist, because they do know what you need. As you can see here, her hair is getting a lot lighter. Now it's really like a bright red as a tip for you stylists out there when your client is at the bowl and they have that soapy residue on their hair. That is the best indicator of how the hair is going to look when it's dry. This is a close-up of satoshis hair towel dried, as you can see, it's pretty red and I think that this is as far as we are going to get today. Okay, so I'm going to throw on a deep conditioner, which is so important, you guys and then I'm going to blow out her hair and send her on her way. We just finished the Tasha's hair, I'm going to show you guys the close-up of it, because on camera I noticed that it's not cooling as light as it is, but what she was before she's about a level four right, and so we lifted it about two levels. So right now she's about a level six. This is a safest way to lift the hair without causing damage, and so next time we can probably look like two more levels and and then keep going so right now. I basically just stripped her hair um before even like we ever start doing highlights so maybe next time we'll be able to start actually putting in foil, highlights or else painting it to go, even lighter, because now we've at least stripped the hair. What is your actual color goal for the fall and the winter to be like kind of like a she like? Have that ashy color? But what's a sheet like it because there could be a warm blonde and I actually blonde there gon na, be a warm brunette and actually bring it probably like an ashy brunette. Maybe do you like that? I feel, like you, hate that if you're looking at me, like I'm alone, the only thing yeah, I don't hate ashy color, that open to any color, but it's just that your hair is red. I like ashy, but it's gon na, be this one washing red. Oh, my gosh, you know what okay, this is gon na, be a color experiment. We'Re gon na we're gon na keep. Writing. Are you committing to the video series? Yes, of course I am, I know, do you really have a choice anyway? Yeah we're gon na see this is an experiment. You guys that you guys are witnessing firsthand her hair process of getting lighter and lighter and lighter and see how ashy we can get given the fact that I just dyed her hair red two weeks ago. This is a real-life experiment that happens that comes within salon, so I'm going to show you guys how I handle it all right. So that's it for this video, if you guys have any any questions or requests or anything like that and leave it down below. Follow me on my social media platforms such as Instagram, snapchat and Facebook. Those will all be linked down below other than that. You guys we'll see you in my next video, so thank you so much for watching bye always want me to say bye. I know because you don't

Kimberleigh Forbes: It's so refreshing to see an actual professional giving tips and advice. I am a fellow professional and these videos on YT make me cringe, especially the ones dealing with color. Thank you. You have a new subbie!

Mosaic Mirage: I just wanna say how grateful I am for you because I colored my hair dark BLUE and instantly hated it. Was scared to do another bleach because I tried to put box dye over it to get rid of it but I tried this bleach wash method and it lifted ALL the blue out immediately and I’m so happy. Gonna wait another week to do another bleach wash and then go about toning and coloring again

Kiley Wall: I love how your main concern is the health of her hair!! So many many times I've been to a black hair stylist and they leave relaxer in your hair for ridiculous time frames. Then they burn, I mean singe the hair, so its stick straight. It's such a relief to see actual concern for hair instead of just wanting the style to appear nice. It's obvious you are well trained and talented

Luke O'Neil: 'Ashy Brunette' reaction was priceless as she knows her hair has natural warmth and skin tone is golden so ashy could clash with this warmth and make her look washed out and tired. Personally think rose golds / honey tones would look amazing

I'm not gonna say: Uggh! Thank you, Brittney for explaining why dark-haired clients shouldn't expect their hair to turn blonde in one sitting. Have seen many fellow stylists turn their client's hair blonde in one shot and the hair looks healthy and beautiful when leaving the salon. But when the client washes their hair for the first time and and it has that mucky, mushy feeling, OHHH boy. Not a good situation. The stylist who can say NO to their client has the most integrity. I've actually had to tell a client to stop coloring her hair red-violet because it made her look like a penis. Not even kidding...

Gregg Sarkasian-McAuliffe: Excellent video! I’ve been shampoo capping my hair for decades... just to lift it from medium blonde to light golden blond.

terry: I know this is an older video but wanted to state that I LOVE your technique when working the mixture through her hair. I refer back to this video whenever I need a refresher on how to apply my bleach wash.

J M Diaz: This is the best video on this subject. I appreciate the tutorial and the tips. Unlike other videos, this one was way more educational and straightforward. Great job! Her hair by the way looks fantastic!

Vanessa Morris: I haven't done hair in almost 12 years! Thank goodness I found your vid, I'm gonna be doing my own hair taking is SLOWLY from a natural level 2 to hopefully a 6 and I couldn't remember what I needed for a bleach wash

Moon: Oh my gosh, Thank you so much for this video! I love that you educated "regular" people and stylists! So informative.

Linda Ferrell: That was an excellent color procedure! Thank you for sharing your knowledge!

Bud D. Elf: I was starting to say in my last comment. I have been in the hair industry for over 30 yrs. My mother and father both actively held their license, with constant learning. To keep up with our ever changing industry for a total of over 65yrs. My father held a license as a Master Barber license also. Then there was my grandma who had her own salon. Grandma held her license for over 40 yrs. so let me get this out there to all your viewers. “This lady knows her stuff! No matter even if you are a cosmetologist or a diy lady. Listen to her and she will save your bacon!!!”

Shawna Riggs: Great video I love all the tips, it’s nice to actually have a professional not some random person in our bathroom trying to give “facts” , she said ashy red love it such a typical client ❤️

FrizzleMs: i went from black to platinum, took me a month and a half and more than $600 but i dont regret it for a moment and my hair stylist was an absolute sweetheart about it even though im pretty sure she hates me for it. lol

Josee Gendron: Great job. Amazing shine and wondering what you used after shampoing to get that shine. It’s nice to be reminded that a bleach bath is a great way to lighten as well.

User 190isback: This video/tutorial is by far the best bleach bath guide on YouTube... Thank you very very much!!!!

Cherubique ASMR: I have a bob as well (bronde) and I've been trying to decide if I should go golden blonde for one last hurrah with light hair or if I should just go burgundy, which I've always loved. This color is so beautiful!

ArtsAndAttitudes: Thanks for sharing tips with us Brittney

Gillywag: I love these videos! You are so knowledgeable and I learn so much

Jessica W.: oh wow, I didn't realize you can do a soap cap with bleach. thanks for your videos. I want to learn more and become more experienced with color!

Jes Virgo: I went to a hair salon that does olaplex (wich was the reason for me going) long story short the person who did my hair did not put the olaplex with bleach.. according to her (she felt I did not need it) my hair was already recovering and looking great, after that session my hair experienced extreme breakage, now I have to start from square one. Thanks but no thanks. Great video :)

Melanie C: I actually LOVE the color red it ended up on her after you dried it. But, I'd like to see the end result of this video!! Great work!!

Katie C: Omg that length, those curls, absolutely perfect

mi mi: I have hot ass roots right now and I'm so glad I found that you made a bleach bath video. wish me luck!!

Kurt Williams: Even though I know how to bleach wash hair I always come back to this particular video for a refresher just making sure I’m always doing it right

Laura Groves: “I want an ashy red” is why I stopped working at a hair salon

easternhair: for me the hair bleaching is pretty interesting process and its always hard to say to tell the results in advance, love the hair bleachers

strawberry milk: I know we're talking about hair but your client's skin is so clear!

Lucia D: I want to see what her hair looked like when you finished the entire process!!!

Mrs. T.: I have seen some things online about using the bleach bath method on henna dyed hair to lighten it. What is your opinion on this? The henna used is pure henna and indigo and no metallic salts or other additives at all.

we photo gal: I went to a professional salon for highlights. Since I had color on my hair, she said that she needed to "lift" the processed color. I don't remember my sylist doing this method of washing, but "lifting" the color while I was in the chair. I asked her how long I had to sit there for this and she told me an hour. Then she washed it out and then put in highlights. Within months, I had breakage. Had I known this process of using bleach to lift the color (I should have asked beforehand) I never would have done it. But I never heard of leaving bleach on for that long either. I had never had breakage like this in my life before and it was a nightmare. My sides around my ears are still so thinned out and this has really affected me greatly. I do notice I have short strands popping up, so I am hoping that is new growth. I am doing all that I know to do to get healthy hair - no product, no heat, no dye, oil the ends, shower filter, no sulfates - everything! Thank you for posting this video, as I am never doing anything to f*ck up my hair again. I hope I can get it to be healthy :(

legacy by Zenora: Thank you for this. I watched this video long ago. Then my client comes in months later abdcwant her black her to be red violet. Well I used this method to slightly lighten her hair so the demi color could take. Thank you her hair is still healthy and she is happy

Francesca: I’ll be doing this tonight after using a color fix product. I’m trying to get rid of red box dye still keeping it dark, but doing with a brown hopefully.

javoni06: Your face when she said she wants to go "ashy" is me every time a client is in my chair and they have all these unrealistic expectations about hair color

Alana Sims: Man! Seeing the outside of that salon is just a dream! Palm trees and sunlight! Man, i’d love that

𝗗𝗥𝗘𝗔𝗠𓆙: I don’t want to use clarifying shampoo because I plan to leave the bleach on for 10+ minutes so I wanna use any shampoo from Shea moisture it never strips my hair (pro tip: if you used a shampoo that stripped your hair, use a shampoo that you know leaves your hair a bit softer right afterwards and the stripped feeling will go away crazy I know)

Bluegrass Beauty: Please keep doing this girls hair! I love her

Arlita: Love your work and education!!

Jabbster07: lol I love how you keep it real, have you ever encountered a client that wanted to go from a dark color to straight blonde without any future color appointments?? (instead of gradually coloring their hair to be lighter that just want dark to light)

TRUMPisOPPA: Her hair is so beautiful in that red just the way it is.

Lady Amelia: Can this be done on darkest brown hair color that went black? I want to go back natural or close to my darkest brown hair, but I’d settle for the result you got. Beautiful

msditto: Oh no! Didn't you learn from the last video? Heaven forbid you say someone's hair is "coarse". Awesome video! I had actually never heard of this technique before. Very informative.

Peepsqueek: I'm curious, I always done bleach caps using conditioner instead of shampoo as the diluting medium, and they've always worked well for me. I know conditioner doesn't open the hair shaft the way clarifying shampoo does but since this whole method is about going low and slow I always found that conditioner worked to keep the hair soft and healthy during the process anyway. Am I making a mistake by doing this or missing something?

Adrienne G: Definitely an investment and a process! Pay & rebook. I love that you mentioned that.

geminezmarie: I remember watching one of Brittany's hair tutorials in her bathroom years ago...and being shady about it because I was trying to hide the fact I was learning from a child (an extremely pretty and clearly gifted in the aesthetic arts type child but still...)! Now she's grown. I can openly subscribe now ;-) I don't have any other point to this comment but just a kudos to her.

Alana Sims: I never heard of a bleach washing like this. Interesting. I need to start watching more of these videos

Tj Johnson: Can you please please please do more vids like this I love them.

Tatchik77: I realize this video is 5 years old but I'm pretty sure I bought bleach with 50 volume developer at Sally Beauty Supply several years ago. Granted, I melted my hair off but I think it's still legal to buy it lol

Ruthie R: Instructions begin at 2:50

jocelyne Allaire: Great video. Just wondering did you have to dry the hair when you had to apply again the soap cap second time before the end result of this video? Thanks

Lydia Burton: I love how you are doing it over the basin like a proper shampoo .. Other videos I watched they applied it like colour with brush etc . This seems the proper way to do it to me and how I do it

Stryder Mclean: Hahaha I love your face same one I do when people tell me the impossible her hair is probably going to throw so much gold once it’s lightened

Crystal Garcia: How long can you leave the bleach in?

Aleshia Cortez: Can you do this technique on hair that already has highlights but more brown than is wanted?

FruitRollUp: How long do you leave the bleach wash in?

corrie kotulak: Thanks for the tips! Great video

RJ M: Question , can you do highlights after a bleach bath ?

Lydia Susana: Can this work on virgin hair? I don't need to bleach my hair I just want to lighten it gradually without damage.

Tyrkenit: girl, your face when she says "ashy" :D priceless

Wanda: Hey do you think you can make a video about the business side? Like tips on how to open your own studio, and keep that all organized?Love your videos girl!

rosie saunders: Can u use any kind of shampoo? I mean I heard you say clarifying but can it be the ion color safe shampoo? Or does it need to be strictly clarifying?

Veronica Salas: New sub. I have my license since 1988 but changed my career in 1991. I’m retired now and want to learn about new safer, healthier, practices as I’ve started to do some tints and perms on family members. I need to get with the times

Lorie Swisher: How much do you charge for a soap cap where you are?

Rae ASMR: What ever happened with her hair? Did she go blonde?

Brielle Youngken: Lmao your face and mine were exactly the same when she said “ashy” bless you. They think we are magicians sometimes. They just don’t know better. I suppose it is a complement.

1SparksFlyOut: Can you put a dark demi perm over this? Would that revert all the progress?

barbaranotav: Hi dear, thank you very much for the great advice, I just have a question: could I use the anti-yellow shamppo together with the other ingredients? So that when bleaching I could at the same time prevent yellowness?

Cherish Byrd: searched this and saw you had a video on it! I was like HELL YES! now i know ill do it right and still have hair haha

aliciaseptember: The client's skin is so gorgeous!

I bu: Wow can’t believe that beautiful red color is her underlying pigment!

phoenix pariah: I have mixed hair types thru my hair. It's dark almost black to boot. It's been a long road with me and bleach. Lol

Bud D. Elf: I really like your channel. I’ve been in the hair industry for over 30 years

Tracy D: I’m curious how her hair is looking lately. Perhaps start her own playlist. seriously though. I enjoy these.

M*chelle M*chelle: Great videos Brittney

Sara Sofia: Omg the bleach on your bare hands made me feel uncomfortable I can’t even wash color away without gloves :D but I understand the feels

Amanda: I'm about to do this to my hair But yesterday I used a color remover on my hair and then a brown color from Sally's that turned my hair damn near black. I was suggested to do a bleach wash to lighten my hair but how long would u suggest i wait to do it since I did a remover and color yesterday?

MonaeDyme: Can you do this to fix bleach spots?

Hannah Lane: My hair is already light but I want to go just a tad lighter... should I use like a 20 volume? So it’s not as intense

Lucy H: How long would you suggest to leave it on for and if I was to use only a 20 developer would it go lighter slower if I did it over time

Keshia Wheeler: Do you think a processing cap would’ve broken the color down better?

Alexia Nyan: Hey! Amazing job! You putted any shampoo in the bowl?

Wolfkins1972: Oh one more thing I think the red color/tone she looked good with the red color. I would stick with the red, just my opinion:0)

Jamie Armstrong: I liked the color the best after the first wash. But I like her hair curly better. Those curls were really cute I think a warm color would look better than an ashy color...

tc: Can we see a part 4 of your client lighting her hair?

ladya eladya: Does bleach wash remove old henna and old hair dyes especially number 3 hair color ? And thank u

ViKii Sku: I want red hair, but I'm naturally a really ashy blonde and I can not, my hair just refuses to take red pigment, and asking for anything warm toned at a salon has always come out ashy -.- Hell, I tried dying it bright red and my hair turned into a green tinted purple. In jealous of the natural red, but guess everyone wants what they don't have.

Rae: I know the video is old, but can I use clarifying shampoo with acid exfoliants?

di: can you use this method on virgin hair?

Blair Shand: Perfect example of when a client wants you to be psychic and a miracle worker.

Cynthia L: Can I use a bleach cap to remove old toner

LilyOfTheTower: Satasha is so beautiful! Perfect complexion and naturally beautiful.

B. Martinez: do you ever use olaplex to lighten hair? And is it safe to use at home? my hair is very delicate, curly (fyi I never wear it curly ) and damaged :(

Punch Mistakeup: Could you do a proffesional side to the business video? Like pricing, if there are contracts you use then that, and just general business management?

Trav Cir: Love you! You're a great teacher

Siobhan C.: Ive bleached 3x, and 2 colors in 3 days and omg i was waiting for my shit to fall out but it never did and i just turned 44 on Jan 30th and i just noticed gray at the roots but i always have platinum blond so it almost looks like blond highlights lol omg gray?? Wtf! Well, I'm beautiful regardless of its gray, bald or Long & voluminous. I've messed with my hair for 30+yrs, ive been to a salon 2x and hated both times but i have a friend of my ex-wife's is an amazing hair person for. Color ans cut, styling so many style like ur an old lady n ive noticed that my entire life... but I'll do my own

Hira BVB: How long did you leave it on for?

Fawn: What kind of deep conditioner do you use?

Angel A: I love her cut and the color sooo pretty

Kristi Sannar: soap bleach it is.. thanks for the info.. can I tone if it comes out brassy?

Arlita: I do have color that has grown on with gray roots in the front...I get it relaxed 2x times a year
