I am so excited to share this DIY hair tutorial on how to highlight your own hair at home using a cap. This is a brown hair with blonde highlights tutorial. I have been dying my hair since I was 15 years old and know how to highlight my own hair using a cap and foil. In this video I am going to show you how I highlight my hair blonde by using a cap.

A little history about my hair, 3 years ago I lost all my hair do to chemotherapy and I didn't touch my hair for about 2 years. I colored my hair the same way a couple times then I gave it a brake and now I am about to do it again. Currently my hair is longer and more blonde. I apologize for not posting it sooner. Dealing with family stuff which I will talk to you guys in another video. But the technique is the same and this how I start my process to achieve the perfect blonde highlighted hair.

I always like to start Highlighting my hair with a cap because it is easy if you are doing it yourself, then I like to use foils to add more blonde highlights in certain areas like the front of my face or the ends etc.. This video comes next after this one because I used a new developer thats is super gentle on your hair but it is not as strong and the developer need it more time. So I went ahead and recorded a second video on how to color correct and add more highlights using foil.

But in this video I am going to show from start to finish how I highlight my own hair at home using a cap.

I hope you find this video helpful and please share you thoughts love to read them or if you have any questions let me know.

Here are the products I used

Conditioner : Coconut oil to protect my ends and certain parts of hair that were already bleached. https://amzn.to/2OG7o55

Plastic Cap with needle https://amzn.to/2pCCFHZ

Bleach Powder: Blonde Me Enforcing premium lightener 9+ https://amzn.to/2NoXqQN

Developer: 20 Volume peroxide 1 to 1 ratio because of how delicate my hair is after chemo, 20 volume also works for already highlighted hair . https://amzn.to/2Qszuhk

But if you have healthy strong hair not previously bleach, I recommend 30 Volume peroxide https://amzn.to/2E0F5dninstead.

Toners:

Redken toners 9v and 9t equal parts mix with eq shades processing solution. https://amzn.to/2Od8CVV https://amzn.to/2BX5OoG and https://amzn.to/2E27Eau

Hi everyone and welcome back to my youtube channel. I am super excited to share with you guys my entire hair color routine, that I'm going to bind through three videos. The first video is this one which is dyeing my hair. So second one is applying extensions and the third was how it's done. My hair was extenders are added, but for this video, I'm gon na be sharing with you guys how I highlight my hair using a car, I'm going for a letter, ash blonde hair using written, toners, chrome and platinum. I absolutely love that combination. So, if you're interested in seeing how I color my own hair, do I let your ash blonde, but first like to start by brushing my hair, making sure, there's no nuts or anything like that, then I put on the cap and I make sure it's Center and Tight, this can affect the way you pull the hair, so make sure you line it up correctly. Then I grab the needle that comes with the Hat and I start pulling the hair. Through the circles, you can start by using the bigger circles for a half highlighted hair, or you can also do both for a full highlighted. Look. Normally. This process takes anywhere from 30 minutes to an hour, depending on how much hair you have and the amount of highlights you want. Once I'm done, I go ahead and I use a deep conditioner or coconut oil to protect my ends or any areas that need protection from breaking. I start by mixing equal amounts of 30 volume peroxide with blonde reinforcing bleach powder. This mixture is supposed to have more conditioning to protect your hair, so it's a double plus make sure you stir it well until you get a creamy consistency, make sure you wear gloves, because I can sing a little then, with the hair dye brush start applying the Mixture, starting from the roots down, try to do this as fast as possible, so the hair can develop evenly once you're finished. Rub your hair in foil or a plastic cap to retain the heat. Then, if you want to speed up the bleaching process, you can use a blow dryer to apply more heat. This process should not take longer than 45 minutes to 15 minutes max. Make sure you check constantly to see the developing process, so this says so I'm now. I'M gon na blow try and see what the color looks like I'm going to curl my hair so we'll be using my favorite hairstyling tool, this GHD straightener. I absolutely love. I am pleased with the results, but I do wish their highlights were a pinch lighter. I was using the blondie bleach powder for the first time in this bleach powder has so much moisture is not as harsh on your hair, so you have to leave it longer. I do want my hair to be a little bit lighter, so I will be color correcting on my next video using foils. This is the final result I already curl and style my hair and overall, I'm very pleased with the color. My objective was to try to match the extensions match really well to blonde matches with the blonde from the extension, so I'm gon na be very I'm really excited about this. So if you want to watch the video and how I applied the extensions keep watching thanks again for watching.
