All right put it together, it's just hair, all right, hey this is Vienna, and today I'm gon na cut my hair. So this is a very video was going to be a. I tried the most popular hair tutorial of 2022, but when I actually went to go search for the most popular video of 2022, they were mostly shorts, but I'm not trying to do a short. I wanted to actually follow a tutorial, but then the first actual video is a transformation out here and makeup and then the second video is uh. Another transformation, shorts, shorts, shorts, shorts, shorts shorts, oh okay, reacting to people following my wolf cut tutorial by Brad, Mondo, so yeah I saw that video. Then I got curious as to what a wolf cut is. Then I went watching the video and we'll go and try a wolf Squad today, guys I really haven't thought this through. I came up with the idea yesterday and I'm filming this video today, I'm giving myself too much time to think about it to change my mind. So if you were ignorant like I was up to yesterday about what a wolf cut is, let me give you the amateur crash course. So basically you're supposed to do a really high ponytail with your hair and then you're going to do a one straight cut. And then, when you let it down you're supposed to have layers, because the the back part of your hair is being stretched too. And the front part is going to be cut so you're supposed to get layers. Okay, let's watch run video hi, beautiful shags are all the rage right now and there's something about a shag haircut done well. That makes me just gasp like okay, so it's called wolf or shot. I want to share with you a technique on how to cut a shag haircut very, very easily, it's about four steps. Anybody could do it. I also want to preface this by saying this is not exactly how I would do a shag haircut on a client. However, I've simplified things to make it easier for you guys at home. If you're going to attempt this, I wanted to give you a way to do it easier and do it pretty well, so, with a few tools, some patience and I need to stop making my face. I'M so scared, I'm scared, but y'all don't need to see that. I also want to say one last thing: if you are not willing to accept that you may mess up your hair. If you try and cut it yourself, do not attempt this me. That is such few things. This is all I'm asking. Please don't use kitchen scissors so with that all said, let's get my client for today and let's start the cut, so this is my here before the wolf thoughts. I really am nervous about these Cuts, but the logical part of my brain is like. I really don't think it's gon na. Be that bad. It really can't be that better. Okay, all right You're Gon na, Want to start with your hair wet. That is the number one thing, because when your hair is dry, you have all kinds of waves going on in there, even if you don't see them on the top, there may be some underneath. That means your hair is not going to be cut evenly. We grab our elastic and we're doing a really really high ponytail, so I'm just gon na brush all the hair back and we're just gon na pull it all up literally to the very top of the head, and you must make sure that you have no bumps In the hair, you want this to be as smooth and beautiful as possible. No there's a voice in the head that keeps asking me. Are you really going to do this video? Are you really really doing this babe babe? Are you sure you're really really doing this? It'S gon na take me a while to get my hair in that really really smooth ponytail. So let me just take this time right now to get my hair up into that ponytail, because that's step one actually step. One knows me panicking, but you know step two ponytail. I know I'm going to cut off my ends, but I still have to protect them. For now see the call is going through nice and smooth, and you must make sure that you have no bumps in the hair. You want this to be as smooth and beautiful as possible. No, let's catch it into this ponytail right on the top of our head. Oh, so I only added this other scrunchie To The Ends just to protect my ends from breakage. While I was applying the other scrunchie, the scrunchie, that's actually stained yeah, it could have snapped on my hands and cars breakage. Now we take a deep breath. Do a prayer to the hair guards and hope for the best, no original fun part huh, hey, I'm gon na actually cut the hair. Now all right guys we're ready. We are ready. We are ready so by having this piece out in the back and bringing it up to the ponytail marking where that ends and then cutting there. That is going to give you a cut that does not get rid of the length of your hair. It just adds a lot of layering, so this is where the back of my hair comes to right. So I'm thinking to put like this much and you're coward, so we're gon na brush out the ponytail with our comb or a brush, and we are going to do a little scissor moment with our fingers. Get our fingers in there on the ends. I'M gon na be cutting off three or four inches off the top. You know what, since my hair, is a bit thicker than the mannequin that Brad's using, I think I'm going to add a scrunchie as like a guide cooking right here, yeah all right! Oh, we are good ready. You may mess up your shirts together. It'S just hair all right. This is like one two inches. You may mess up your shirts all right. What I'm gon na do now is take up wisely. No, please tell me that got lean after okay, oh what's happening is you're pulling all this hair up right to the top of her head, and it is also more forward than back. Also, the ponytail is up on the front of her hair as well, so you're gon na get a maximum length at the nape of her neck down here. So it's gon na be really long. It'S gon na start to get shorter as you get up here, because the ponytail was directed more towards the front of her hair, and the shortest parts will also be right where the ponytail is pulled up at. Oh, the front is short huh so after thoroughly combing. My hair up it wants to stay up okay, so I'm going to go in the shower and rinse my hair to try and get it to like lay down to see the results of this coat. All right. I already see where I could trim up a little more, but let's annoy to dry just a little bit and then we're going back with the scissors. You noticed the club or is that teapot? No, it's not the table. Yes, it's it's! A wolf cut. It'S a heart, yeah yeah! Oh, I see what you say like he shows up the top yeah yeah. You know like the animal Aurora tomorrow. I think I got the. I think I got it. I think I mean maybe I could have cut off more. I didn't want to lose like the length, though all you guys think you think I did a good job or I need to go to the salon to cut more okay Beauties. I really hope you guys enjoyed this video and give me a thumbs up. If you did, if you're new to this Channel - and you haven't decided from this one video that you want to subscribe - I mean it's all right. I don't want to be mad at you. We just met so here what I'll do I'll leave some more of my videos open the I cards, so you can watch more, get more familiar with my channel and then, if you can sit down through one more two more of my videos, it simply means you Enjoy my content and it just makes sense to subscribe, okay Beauties thanks again for watching all right. Thank you.

Maggie Scarlet: With the red colour and your natural volume, I think it should be called a lion cut!! Fabulous as always Viv ❤️

soshiangel90: My heart was in my throat the whole first half (cuz we all know he didn't make that tutorial with textured hair in mind) but it turned out okay!

Unicorns Poop Rainbows (Fae): I wouldn't think your hair is a wolf cut if I didn't know that was what you were going for HOWEVER it looks SO GOOD!! Brad Mondo, as well intentioned as he tries to be, only seems to have experience with straight or slightly wavy hair. It is really interesting to see how this technique works on different hair textures so thank you for adding to our collective amateur hair knowledge ^^

CforCalamity: "I would rather ME mess up my hair than someone else f*ck it up." YES. SAME. This is why I do my own hair. (Also it's fun)

ShawolsStartedIt: I personally love the wait it looks! The layers are subtle, but noticeable, and I don’t think I would have cut of any more from the front than you did, so good job!

Courtney Stowe: I did this cut as well and I used about the same lengths (starting and the amount cut) you did. I like it for wavy and curly hair even though it is popular on straighter hair types/styles because it makes the top curls so bouncy and it still feels so long

Ali Iannucci: Obsessed with the fact that your husband said it looks like a heart! That was so cute and it totally does (especially with the red!!)

Jeannine Gorden: It came out cute! There is another version of the wolf cut that includes doing another round of cutting just the front quarter of the hair after doing the initial cut. It makes long shaggy bangs.

Melissa: I love Brad and I adore you. This is great. Too bad you guys couldn’t collaborate in real life because he is learning all about our type hair. It would give him a chance to show his range.

LuvStonedDIVA: Hey Viv!! You did so good!!! I gave myself a wolf cut about 6 months ago. I was worried too but I realized I still had a lot of my length left and I looked so good. And it makes a cute natural style when it shrinks. P.S. Yes I did it on blown out hair. I have extra coiled hair (4c if you prefer). I also did it in 3 steps.

Ayo Dez: Hey hun just some advice for next time. For our texture hair you can not wet your hair before you cut it. Their hair stretches when wet ours shrink. So you have to blow dry your hair or stretch your hair dry to get a more even cut ❤️

dogstarlite: The new cut looks SUPER cute on you!!!!

vicky fox: I think it looks great but I'd go to the salon for a true wolfcut if you're not happy. I feel like this is a really easy way to mess up your hair for us because he didn't specify any difference for hair that shrinks rather than expands

anaïs✨: So I did wolf cuts for years without realizing it but I would straighten then high pony and cut. I’ll be honest, I was nervous when you wet it but it came out very nice, luv! Loving the color ❤

Tanya McNicholas: I think you did a good job! You can see the layers and it looks fairly even

Sedge Circle: Wow, usually when I watch Brad Mondo, HE'S reviewing people cutting their hair, lol! You're beautiful, and I love your energy :D

Ashley Murphy: It turned out great, Viv! I just did a silk press on my hair this weekend, and I’ve been thinking about cutting my hair to add some layers, so I MIGHT try this out! Thank you for the tutorial on natural hair ❤

Cori Foster: I was very nervous about this but I love how you are so willing to experiment. I think it looks great! I don’t necessarily see the shag look but If anything it gives me an idea about how to better trim my edges at home

Adrienne Watson: I love it Viv!! You did amazing!! So pretty

Purpleppleater42: I love how willing you are to try new things! Love your vids❤

LynetteBunBun: viv your hair looks great in a wolf cut it totally works

Mary S: You did great but should have cuta little more. Actually you should have done the other tutorial Brad has where does it with two ponytails (Its like a Butterfly or Unicorn cut or something) since you have so much hair it would make it easier to divide it up maybe. But you always look great and I love that you followed Brad Mondo's video (I found your channel from him) I really want to see you try his hair color or other products someday m

Twokids Mom: I did this cut on blown out hair a year and a half ago. I've done small trims since then, but I always get complements on the shape

ComaLies225: I do the wolf cut but I do it in layers. I start with my whole head, pulling all of my hair to the front then cut the ends. After each cut i take a small section out from the back and leave it, then pull the rest of the hair to the front then cut. I continue to cut until I reach the front. It was helpful during lockdown if I wanted to trim my ends and layer my hair but I never got the same results lol

Cactus Flower: It turned out soo good!! it actually framed your face perfectly!

Sassy S: It looks good. For our hair to get a high slick ponytail, I would've blown the hair dry or stretched it without heat first.

Aye See: Stating the obvious here but your hair is gorgeous ❤

realpluslovely: I love how we are so in sync I literally just cut 3 inches of my color treated hair off and then I see your video today! Love you Viv!!!

Kitchen Cat: I think it looks great, Viv! You and your husband are so cute, too!

marelisaful: Wow you did a great job I was so scared for you. Gorgeous as always Viv!

J'maris Smith: I think your trim looks very nice. And, the layers are noticeable but not bold. Yes you could have cut more off. But I love it and this video was super entertaining. Thank you for that!

BitterBlue Bell: This works for me. I've done it for a while now. I can't afford a salon but if I had to cut my own curly hair layer by layer I would lose my mind.

wolfgirl7396: I think you did a good job on the cut, it doesn't look uneven or lopsided to need a dire trip to the salon

Julissa0_o: It’s a great job, I love that shape on you

Lavinia Marigold: I adore you and your videos! I hope Brad does a review of your cut. I think it looks amazing but I think all your looks are amazing. Stay joyful <3

Mew Mew: It looks great, I love the layers!

Abi: Doesn't Brad do a second cut with his wolf cut? To graduate the layers? Or have I misremembered... Anyway, it looks great :)

Marie Paxton: U have gorgeous hair. I think it turned out great as a trim. It doesn't look much different and for me that's what I like for maintenance

Cyrene Pierre: It looks perfectly fine to me. If you feel like trimming up some layers to make it more even, you can, but it's not noticeable.

Milica Nenadic: I would like to point out one mistake that Brad also made, in my opinion. When you put your hair in a ponytail, you should pull the hair tie up so the hair is going in somewhat strait line and not following the curve of your head. I'm doing a variation of that cut on myself every time I want more layers, and it works beautifly. Only difference is that I have two ponytails. Front one is going in a 90 degrees angle to the flor, and the hair behind ears goes straight up. Hairdresser literally didn't touch my hair in more than 10 years. Good thing is that curls hide the mistakes. I think that wolf cut looks really good on you. ❤️

Josilyn L: You're adorable!!! And so is your new hair

missmsquare: I absolutely love Brad Mondo and he is so cool. I dye my hair myself to perfection now after watching so many of his videos. He is very young however very talented with his own products. So nice to watch two people that I like. Your hair will grow.

CoolChristiangirl: I’m thinking about doing a wolf cut so I’m excited for the outcome

Bec Purcell: Doooon't!!!! Your hair is so beautiful and it's getting so long! I've seen so many wolf cut disaster videos!

xsparkinthedarkx: It looks beautiful. I think you cute the exact right amount! ❤️

scalesof mental: I love the way it came out

Kimmy Ko: "If you cut your hair with regular scissors, you'll likely end up with split ends, damaged hair follicles, and an uneven cut. This is because blunt scissors can't make a clean cut without tugging and pulling at the hair. This can cause split ends, frizziness, and even more damage to the hair shaft." Please go get your end professionally cut before the damage goes further up the strands. I'd hate to see your hard work get worse. Be blessed!

MusicFeedsYourSoul: I like it!!! And I think it’s always better to wish you cut off more than wish you cut off less

Sliverwalker: So brave, even with those shaky hands. I agree with the hubby, it does look like a cute heart framing your face...

Kirsty L: Perfect length. Don’t go shorter, it might look daft with really short bits on top and you’ll get annoyed if you can’t do anything with it.

Kitty Shark: Love it!!! It does look like a heart! So stinkin cute

Jill Klausen: I love it. I think it came out beautiful.

Jess Molly: I love Viv she's a lot! And Brad of course ☺️

Ossie R: Shags usually don’t work well on thick hair. After saying that, it looks fabulous on you.

Platinum Branch: It looks fine to me. Good job, Viv!

Mo n: For your hair type - this is a really good read result

W T Edwards: Love you Vive! You might check out Manes by Mel, she is all about curly and wavy and has a butterfly cut you might like better.

KenzieHurlock: Viv already has visible layers in her hair before the cut. It probably has to do with her texture. Afterwards it looks the same as it did before.

Chi Denise: To be honest this is how my hair grows naturally

Sara Silly: You should try doing vintage hairstyles (1940s and 50s) with your natural hair

Z Thompson: For our hair you would’ve wanted to flat iron it to get it straight. Other races have to wet it to get it straight

theladyisabelle: I was worried...but it turned out cute...and yes I like the length and yes ...I looks like you have a heart around your face!

Julie Blair: I have to say before watching I am terrified for you but also have total faith you nail it

Sharna Johnson: I like it Makes me think about cutting mine.

obsessedandstuff: it turned out AMAZING!!

Christina Kyle: So excited for this!! Cause I watch Brad Mondo, too!! Love you, Viv!! ❤️❤️❤️❤️

Letrecia Morman: IMO your hair was shaped that way anyways. You did great. You just trimmed your hair but next time do it dry. I look forward to you having lots of growth in the next few months!

Lindsey B: It came out so good!

Rochelle Lobban: Hey viv I watched Brad's tutorial and you missed some steps if you wanted to get some more shape but then again all the tutorials were on straight heat. 1 when you made the high pony you should have held the hair straight up . This would have given you more layers in the centre. Because you over directed to the front your layers were concentrated to the front 2 you could have sectioned the hair in two with one pony tail in the front and trim and a high pony tail in the back and trim 3 you could have gone back in after letting the hair down to clean up by doing trims to even the areas where you were having shelving For coily hair like ours, I think the cut will look more heart shape as the layering gives more volume

Light House: You did a Great job, it looks Cute. BTW you look younger with Less foundation makeup

Kimmii: I’ve been cutting my hair like this for a long time but I put my ponytail closer to the front of my head x

Mimyakko: It came out really cute!!!

Calika Lobrie: The problem with this hair cut is that it wasn't designed for afro textured hair it dosnt fall like straight or waves hair its not as heavy on its own and it dosnt tangle on its self like our hair does

Matilda Bryant: You are so beautiful that no matter what you do it looks good.

Makaela M: I think it looks really good!

All Dem Cats!: ❤✂ You're amazing Viv.

Oonagh72: Check out Manes by Mell she has a version of this for curly hair.

Chronic Butterfly: You got the uneven, broken ends, so I would leave it for now. Get used to it. If in a month you feel like more should come off, then go to the salon if it's in your budget. When I was a working stylist (retired now), I always started off with less than the client asked for if they seemed nervous or unsure. Yes, it's "only hair", but you live with it every day.

elizabeth manzella: Your hair needed that trim!! I think it would look beautiful if you went to the salon and got the rest of the dead ends off

No Account: I this is a good layered trim up. It's not the extreme some wolfcuts look like but I think that's a good thing since you want more hair

Evangelist Aurellia: I love the cut and you viv

Tennille Bowens: I would just call this a regular cut. A wolf cut has 3 layers. Look good though.

Randomized Designs: I think the wolf cut is more cuts than this. After the first cut you’re supposed to then cut it half up half down and then cut like curtain bangs to get layers in all of your hair.

Aicirt Kciub: I like it. It looks cleaned up nicely. I have the same problem scared to cut too much. It looks very nice. Smooth edges.

blackeneddove: Manes by Mell is a much better channel for cutting textured hair. She is a curly hair specialist & stylist. But thankfully your hair came out cute, Viv!

purplebear nia: Would be fun to see viv on brad’s channel❤❤

Su Moses: Makes me want to try this

Amy Lloyd: Looks good,Viv!

Pamela Broecking: Looks great!

Pamela Broecking: Looks great!

Brenda Moon: I really want Brad to react to this video.

jekkuthebold: Don't listen to Brad, he is a fraud. What you did is not really considered a wolf cut, more like adding blunt, inverted layers. A "wolf cut" is a combination of soft bangs and shaggy layers, specific techniques and tools are used to create the feathery, wispy texture. What you did looks great though, I'm glad you only took a little off. Any more could have been disastrous! ❤️

PsychedForLife: I love it!

Andrea McKenzie: "I'm not giving myself time to think about it" a mood

Kathy Johnson: I think you could cut an inch or 2 more yourself and it would look even better because more of the damaged ends would be gone. However, you do need to be prepared for it to shrink more and so look even shorter than it will be because less damaged hair shrinks more. As someone else posted, it is generally better to cut natural hair after blowdrying it straight. You can see the damaged ends better and get a more even cut.

lcarprin: I think it looks cute. I like it. I was worried I've saw the wolf cut videos. Lol I watch Brad Mondo too. Ha

B F: @BradMondo , please react. I watch you both ('bleach fails' has taught me so much).

C S: I'm kind of glad it doesn't look so dramatic lol he did not notice!

Anonymous Person: That came out cute!

EvanescenceFreak22: Can we get brad mondos reaction to a POC haircut inspired by him or nah ? Like this up if you agree !! Cmon brad for us !!
