Hey guys, it's your favorite girl near my knee here back with another video, and we are honestly just gon na jump right in to this tutorial. So my hair is straight. Yes, I just straight my hair. Why don't we go, and this is specially after I straighten my hair, and I want to show you all how I pretty much preserved my hair, while it's straight so that it lasts longer, and I don't have to worry about putting additional heat on it, pretty much Causing heat damage so when you wrap your hair and, like I said, wrap my hair like a Dominican because going to get that fresh blow out at the Dominican, you get that fresh doobie. You know your hair be right, so, basically yeah. I will show you all how I preserve my style so that it can last me up to one to two weeks, so you want to make sure that you part behind the ear. Sometimes people when I was younger. I will part my hair straight down the middle when I would wrap my hair, but it's essential that you part by the ear, because it's gon na kind of like help with making sure that your hair doesn't have any humps lumps or like lines in it. So I parked the hair and then I began to start brushing it towards the back. So, as you can see, I'm using like a the rolling brush and yeah, you just want to kind of make sure that you're brushing your hair in a circular moment. Most movement on a moment I don't know how to master the perfect circle that you know the Dominican salon does. But this literally me doing this gets the job done, so you want to bring out your pack of jumbo um bobby pins. So i'd like to use those and it's important that you you see how well you want to make sure it's facing the long side is facing the back and the short side is facing the front of your hair, because if you place it the other way, it's Gon na kind of leave a dent in your hair, so I'm beginning to kind of form the circle so that my hair um can be like wrapped up properly. If that makes it so yeah. I put this bobby camp in there, but it's not necessarily gon na stay there and you just basically want to begin to just start wrapping your hair in a circle and do y'all see that sheen in my hair as compliment treats that Rutger roots that I use. When I straighten my hair, you haven't seen my straight hair tutorial, you're a loser and you might want to go and watch that after you watch this all right, so you're gon na just keep brushing that's that's a sense. You got to keep brushing so make sure that it's perfect in the other place you know hold you, you see, I'm like brushing, and then I put the bobby pin and in version you got ta like you got to really take your time with your wrap. Okay. So now I'm moving that bobby pin that I put at first and then I'm gon na continue to brush in the circular movement around my head and I kind of alternate between the roller brush and my soft for bristle brush just depending on you know how I'm Feeling it's all up to you, how you want to do this but, like I said, like you wrapping our hair, if you wrap your hair every night, while your hair straight your style is going to last see I'm just gon na keep going around my head, and I did pretty good cuz. Sometimes I have to kind of like do this multiple times, but this night I was just able to wrap my hair once so yeah you just go around the head with throw things alright beauties, so the secret, as you all know, to any style - that's gon na, Be preserved, you have to wrap your hair up and silk. You have to put on a scarf at night girl, so I'm using this black scarf and clearly I couldn't tie it correctly, but we're gon na get it together and um. Sometimes some people - I personally, don't do it - they take out the bobby pins after they put on their scars. I just don't trust myself. Sometimes I could be a really rough sleeper and you can do that if you do feel comfortable cuz that will avoid um, sometimes getting bumps in your hair, but, like I said, the way you place the bobby pins on your hair also helps avoid getting those lumps And bumps so it is the next morning and it's time to take down my wrap and, as you can see, I have my scarf tied tightly and I put my bonnet on in my hair. It will still be intact. Alright. So now I'm just gon na begin. Taking down my bobby pins and as you can see, my hair kinda looks like you did a little curl thing in the front, but I thought take it down it. Just kind of did a natural type of wave, but that doesn't bother me. My hair is not super dented up um and I like it so I'm just gon na brush my hair. All of my hair down after I um gently take out all of my bobby pins and then I'm just gon na find my part down the middle and bones: that's really it y'all. So wrapping a hair is super. Super simple! You just have to practice. Um - just put - I don't wear my hair straight that often, but when I do, I used to imagine soup like straight all the time. So that's why I'm a proactive, but thank you all so much for watching this quick tutorial and be sure to watch my straight hair routine, and I will see you all in the next one.

Nia Imani: I honestly wish y’all would watch me wrap my hair and enjoy it! Lmao I’m a Black woman who watched her mother wrap her hair but also went to the Dominicans for blow outs. My great grandma mother was also Dominican. Wrapping hair is a Black technique. Newsflash, Dominicans are apart of the African Diaspora (more than 40% of slaves went to Latin/South America) therefore, a large sum of Dominicans are of African descent. Open a book, in sure you all can find access to this information. If you have something unnecessary to say please keep it cause IRDAGF

Andre Remy: I just appreciate the fact that its real as a Man. Im tired of seeing these weave/scalp joints out here

TheCultural Confusion: I’m a black southern girl, and I’ve had my hair wrapped like this all my life.

Moments By Desyn: You just gave me the secret! I’ve been parting it in the middle and it is so frustrating because it gets all puffy in the middle and I have to keep re-wrapping it. Thanks for doing this tutorial!

Lourdes Gibert: Thank you so much for this! I can finally wrap my hair myself. It has so little texture and can be a huge pain to rap because it falls all over the place, but doing it this way (as opposed to parting the hair to the front and holding my hand in the middle of my head) is so much easier. Thanks again! :)

Jazmine E: If you don’t like the pin dents: I usually comb my hair around in a circle and hold it with my hands without any pins. Or ask someone else to hold it but I can manage to do it myself. Then you fold your scarf in a triangle and lay it on your head. Cross cross the pieces in the back once and then spinbthe scarf in a circle motion around your in the direction you combed it so tbat it smoothes it out and compacts the hair then tie the scarf down and you’re good!

HairByPierre: Wow it’s so shiny sleek and silky!

Emogene Martins: South African women grow up doing this. We call it 'swirling' and we use old pantyhose (we call it a stocking but it's the 'panty'part of the pantyhose) to keep it in place. You can even twist it tighter if you like. Some do it without hairpins and just place the stocking on the head after swirling. Twisting the stocking makes the swirl tighter and hokdxevetyyhing together. Normally sleep in the style to keep it sleek.

TOUCHEDBYTERRI: Wrapping hair makes straight hair last so much longer. I wrap my hair as well but I do it a little differently . How she has her hair around the 4:21 Mark is how I actually start my wrap and I start going counter clockwise and I don’t add bobby-pins because I don’t like the mark they leave... the first two days are the hardest when wrapping freshly straighten hair but by the 3/4 day your hair will literally be falling in place. I also add a wrapping Cap and then a scarf.

B D: I'm in cosmetology school and there's a section in the hairstyling chapter explaining hair wrapping but the pictures don't show or explain anything very well so I was so damn confused, this really helped! Thank you and you're freaking gorgeous! Beautiful hair!

C A: Thanks for the tutorial! I’m trying to get better at wrapping and making my silk press last longer☺️

Dana Martinez: "El tubi!" you never leave the beauty salon without the "Tubi". Some of us has mastered this art so we can easly do it in seconds and without bobbypins (pinchos), just the hair net and that's it! Dominican women and hair is a secret bond that will live forever! ‍♀️‍♀️‍♀️

Mz.PG73 K2: Great vid!!! The simple step of parting behind the ear feels like a revelation to me!! I always start with a side part and I struggle every time! The behind the ear part makes way more sense....I’m gonna try it!!

Haf ssa: I've been doing that since I was 14 years old My hair is silky because of her ❤️

JasLynn: I really thought nobody wrapped their hair anymore lol it looks so good girl. After my hair grew to my butt I stopped wrapping it, and started putting four small buns on my hair to keep it straight/wavy. lol I got lazy smh

Thank you for sharing, Awesome Job and Beautiful Hair!

APTTAMY HALLELUYAH: I love it ...You learn something new everyday...I did not know that...I thought it was just something black women did here in the south...But nevertheless hair is gorgeous. Monique Mourão: Aqui no Brasil é a famosa touca de grapos amo fazer isso no meu cabelo

The Vlog Life: New subbie. I just straightened my hair yesterday and now I’m going to bed and I was like. I spent 3 hours flat ironing my hair and I’ll be dang if I don’t preserve this silky smooth style. You reminded me how I use to wrap my hair. Minus the Bobby pins I just held the crown of my head and kept going around. My hair is thick and I can’t play around when it’s straight because it will all come down so I have to be quick!!! Lol thank you for sharing this video I will be watching more

Jaaked: You're making me want to straighten my hair

Renae Dana: I love your hair!!! I love wrapping my hair! Keeping that style fresh.

Christina Gwira: Ugh, you're the only tutorial that made sense. I was able to get a decent doobie. Major key was parting behind the ear. Thank you for sharing girl!

Abie Iris Esto: That is so awesome! And your hair is amazing. I never knew about this, I only saw this technique yesterday on my facebook newsfeed. I have got to try this.

Krystal Harris: Woah! Your shine and retention ARE AMAZING!

Elysia Pointer: You should try using duck mouth clips. They’re easier to open, and you can slide them right out once you get your scarf or wrap secured. Then twist the scarf around once or twice to make it even flatter. It’ll keep you from getting those dents in your hair. Made life so much better when I discovered duck clips.

Life with Zoeh: We Dominican call it “Tubi” Our moms and grandmothers teach us since we’re teen to know how to take care of our hair at night

yariiyaritza: It's a staple in our culture and hair regimen. All black women do this but many have abandoned these techniques.

Lamaria Brown: New sub, your hair is absolutely beautiful. #tfs. Glad I found your channel, now I can attempt to wrap my hair. Blessings on your day

joelma Martins: Que cabelo maravilhoso linda

Linna_XO: Oh my God thank you! I would always cry when my hair falls lol. My hair long af so I be over it quick Thank you Suh !! <3

Sam Miller: When you train your hair, after a while, you won't need Bobby pins. Your hair will do it all on its own.

Karen Michelle: Who needs weave when you got beautiful thick natural hair like this

Truthful 1: I want to recommend that rolllos is a great alternative to get your hair straight. Then do the dubi dubi. Also the keratin treatment has taken the place of relaxer the flat iron can still be used but you will need just a little this protecting your hair from drying.

Insert Name Here: ❤❤omg! ur hair is gorgeous and so healthy.

Patrice Austin: Yeah I do hair from being Black and growing up with Puerto Ricans. Looks cool. However some people have wavy hair. In Cali if it's not wrapped it is still cool. Kind of taught me how to do my hair without perms and I had that fresh cut a few years back and I guess I missed it so much I just left it alone. But cool. I use to cry when my hair grew but the older you get I guess you just don't care. Just learned to embrace the curls and love others and not criticize. I just wish people stop criticizing me because it would not stay short and kept growing. Seriously it is best to stay with your culture because some people don't understand hair is in your natural DNA. Ok God bless. I wish life was so different. Good start. I am glad I cut mines off years ago. It did eventually grow back. I just try not advise people that sometimes your Native American has a lot to do with that too. I learned to do facials too and not let hair just rule my life. God bless.

B. Danielle Broussard: I have a little cousin whose name is Nia Imani! Your hair is gorgeous.

Jasmin's World: I remember how when I was younger and my Dominican grandma always made me walk out anywhere like that if I wasn’t going anywhere important

yariiyaritza: Dominican women have magical hands I swear. Some of the best hair dressers you'll ever find are Dominicans, that goes for barbers as well.

Latoysha Mason: Yaaaaaaassssssss Nia!! Come thru drippin lol. That shine and body of your hair is everything!!! ♥️♥️♥️♥️

Vicki Jones: Do you have a perm? If not, what do you use on your hair to keep it from breaking before applying heat?

Michelle Frazier: I haven't wrapped my hair in sooooo long.

Noelia Bonilla: Dominicans remove the pins afterwards because they leave marks, they use a net hat to keep the hair in place.

anneshirley duncan: Tysm I wasn't sure how to wrap my hair since it's gotten longer. I'd love to get a Dominican blowout but there are no salon to my knowledge in my town that does them. We just have regular salons. I can get my hair wrapped but I couldn't get it to stay after a few days.
