I am SO SO SO SO sorry about the background noise, my mom’s TV is loud af and she doesn’t respect me. ‍♀️

Anyways today I show you how to sleep on wavy hair, well this is more how I sleep on my wavy hair. Just like our curly and coily counter parts we have to protect our hair when we sleep. This is what I’ve been doing for months now and it’s been working for me. Hope this answered any questions you guys had about how I sleep on my wavy hair.

Hey guys welcome back to my channel if you're new here hi, I'm so kind of ache videos, if you hear the TV on in the background, I'm sorry, but today's video is one that I've been asked about. Well know what I've been asked a lot about, how I sleep on my hair, when I wear like this, when I work natural, so let's dive right in so most of you know I do sleep on a satin pillowcase. It'S really good for your skin and your hair. Silk is even better because it is a natural protein, but it's silk is expensive and if you're like me, you're on a budget, satin is a good option. So most nights, I do just sleep on a satin pillowcase and then I take my son's scarf and I wrap my other pillow up in it and then I tie my hair up. I do use one of these tele ties to tie my hair up have to tilt my camera up. Sorry, but I just put my hair up in a loose bun, my hair's actually kind of damp on the bottom layer cuz. I just refreshed it but whatever so. I take it up to the very top of my head and then I take my tele tie, and this is what I do so, please I can't rock a little bit more. No, I just do this, it's still very loose and I do another loop just like that, and then I kind of like fan it out like this, and then I will just sleep on my pillowcase like that. If I don't do this kind of fun, I'll kind of just do like a regular, loose bun so again, I'll gather all my hair to the very top of my head, pretty very gently because you don't want it to be tight, especially if you're like me, and You have thinner roots. You definitely don't want to pull your hair too tight. So then I'll just do like this big messy bun know if you guys saw that properly, but I'm just gon na twist it very gently very softly pile it up on my head. I know it looks crazy, take the telly tie and go once twice and I just kind of like pull at my roots and stuff and then I'll just sleep like this. But if I don't want to just sleep like this, so I was on vacation this past week. I didn't have a satin pillowcase to sleep on, but I did take my scarf with me. So when I'm not sleeping on a satin pillowcase, I will wrap my hair up in a scarf. So I take my scarf. It'S big, it's a square, so I'm gon na fold it in half. I look so crazy with my hair up like this. I'M sorry, but I fold it in half, so it looks like a triangle just like this, and there are a lot of different ways. You can wrap your hair up in a scarf, but I only started wrapping my hair up in a scarf like a couple months ago, so this is just the way I find it works best. This the way I've gone it to stay overnight. My hair does still kind of escape a bit of a scarf overnight, but it's usually just the ends. The only thing is about wrapping your hair up in the scarf at least the way I wrap my hair. I find it does slip off, sometimes in the middle of the night, and then I have to like rewrap it or I have to pull it down because they'll start sliding off, because it's so slippery. And if you want to avoid that. But you still want to protect your hair and you don't want to only put it up in a crazy button like this, I do recommend getting a satin bonnet they're, not expensive, they're anywhere from like eight to fifteen dollars, depending on where you buy it from but Satin bonnets are great, yes, you're, gon na look like a granny when you wear it. If you're going to go with your man, he's probably gon na be like I'm going about with my grandma, but your hair is gon na look great and it will protect your hair, especially if you wear hair extensions bonnets are a must to keep her extensions in Good shape anyways, so this is folded in half. I'M gon na just take the flat side and put it down there like this. Then I have this part up here, that's kind of like down whatever. Oh, my god. I can't I don't know. I can't do this on camera, I'm using my camera as a mirror, and it's just I'm having a very hard time right now. I'M gon na tie it like that and yes, I know I have this piece here, don't worry and then I'm gon na just turn. It around and tie it like this back here to secure it, and then I have this little piece that sticks up, so I just tuck it in just like that, and then I will go to sleep like this. I know so cute, so nice right right yeah. I know it's not cute, it looks kind of crazy, but if you have frizzy hair and you want to decrease the frizz and you want to protect your hair overnight, this is what you got to do. You got ta wrap it up. Tie it up sleep on sat and you know, do what you got to do and then in the morning I just take my bun down and my hair usually like it looks fine I mean. Obviously I didn't just sleep. My hair is still good. It was only tied up for a little bit, but this is generally like what it looks like the next morning. It looks pretty much the same I'll, just refresh it with some water and some leave-in conditioner, and that usually does the trick. If my hair really loses shape, which it usually doesn't, but if it really really loses its shape, I will just saturate my hair like really really saturate it in water and then scrunch in a little bit of gel and it kind of just gets its life back. That'S usually how I sleep. I know it's not cute, but that's what I do. It'S very easy, it's very simple and if you are not already doing a protective style when you sleep, you need to, for whatever reason a lot of people think that, like only kinky, hair and coyly hair needs to be worn in a protective style to sleep. But that's not true anybody with textured hair. You should be putting your hair in a protective style when you're sleeping yeah, if you're not already doing it, you need to do it well, yeah! That'S how I sleep on my hair, so I hope those of you who asked has helped you out if you're not already doing any of these things. Please start so. Your hair is gon na, be less frizzy and looks a lot nicer and I was in a long video, but I don't do a lot. I try to keep it simple, so yeah, if you're not already subscribed to my channel, I would love to have you subscribe. MB: So I'm white and have wavy/curly hair and I've been experimenting with different ways to best enhance my curls. Gel casting has been great for me, however it's hard to sleep in without getting messed up over night. So I've been looking into silk caps and scarves to wrap my hair to help preserve the cast overnight and I found a thread of very upset POC saying it was wrong for white people to steal this from them. Is it really that offensive for me to do? I don't want to offend people, but also, I want my hair to look nice

Krystal L. Pérez Martínez: I am so glad I found someone that has similar hair type. Usually 2b 2c videos are not easy to find. Lots of curly... love the curly girls, but noy my type of hair.

Suhanna De Silva: Again APOLOGIES for the shitty audio, I had to film while my mom was home and of course she thought watching Fresh Prince while I record a video was a good idea. Hopefully you guys can get past the laugh track and just hear me. I might end up refilming this in the future but I did want to get this up for those of you who asked. Thanks for watching!

chiara d: Hi Suhanna: I have both silk and satin pillow case, and I do not notice a real difference... thank you for sharing your tips!

No No: Just a guy passing through trying to up my hair game. About to be out here sleeping with satin on my head now.

emma la battaglia: i took two quizzes and they both said 2b/2c and thank god i’ve come across ur video, do u have any other tips on how to define the wave/curl shape or to get rid of the frizz? :)

Keren Espina: Yay you uploaded a night hair prep video! This is awesome, definitely going to find a satin pillow case and a tele tie!

Alessa: Love your Videos! Again, a very helpful one! Thank you :)

Cata Saldaa: Thank u sooooooo muchhh!! I always wear my hair curly one day and straight-ish the next bc it straightens while I sleep love from Argentina❤️

Nyanza Rojas: Thanks so much for this video. My daughter has hair just like yours. I have been taking care of her hair the same way I do mines, but she ends up looking like a grease ball. Lol. So here I am on YouTube searching for help.

Lisa Costigan: Girl your hair looks GREAT!! I haven’t gotten the hang of putting my hair in a scarf I have a satin pillow case at my place n a satin scarf that I wrap my pillow in at my Sweetheart’s...I usually put my hair up in a buff...which Sweetheart has started calling my hair sock he’s soooo cute...the scarf is good for travel too...I mean how many hotels have a satin pillowcase ???

Claire G: Someone with my hair type!!! Thank you for this girl

Amirah Ullah: Thanks for the tips girl :)

Niyati Bhasin: Yooo. I love the loose buns. I do them too.. they really helped my hair when I was struggling with hair fall , as they are loose at the roots and there's less traction I guess.. anyway. Good video ☺️☺️☺️

schwooop: i jus found your channel & i'm finding your vids to be SO helpful! ty ty ty for making these

Jaereen Maneja: Girll thank you for this video I needed this lol

SeLiii122: my hair is a mix of waves looser than yours and 3a curls. do you have any tips on how to deal with different patterns? :)

inannacoach: Omg you actually look so nice with the satin scarf on hahaha

Boba bubble tea: What about if your hair is kinda damp when you go to bed? My hair molds very very *very* easily and drives me crazy. I can't get rid of my odd hair without taking another shower and I'm scared about the whole messy bun thingy.....

WistyFish: Girl this is the only YouTube channel I have found who’s hair looks like mine (well mines lighter but the texture is like... identical. And yours is a little longer than mine but wow! So nice to see!

Teacupsandrain: my hair look amazing right after i wash and air drys and i’ve tried so many things to keep it look even remotely the same but they always turn out scraggly and have weird straight dents

Nadia F: How often do you guys refresh? I feel like I have to refresh every day… my hair loses its shape completely overnight

sarah: imma go buy myself a satin scarf & pillow case now

Serena Rodarte: How do you deal with tangles? The one reason I can’t extend my styles is because my hair gets so tangly :(

j.k. dhillon: I have looser waves than yours. Everything I’ve seen is about these methods or similar to these. But since I have looser waves if I put a hair (even very loosely) it ends up leaving a dent in my hair, where the tie was. The scarf isn’t gonna really help since my hair is quite long (up to my hips) and I can’t put it in a loose bun and then a scarf cause it’s so thin and doesn’t stay in a hair tie unless if I do it tighter (which makes a dent) i& f I do it just ends up opening and getting tangled also… so I’ve stuck to just doin a loose braid. Does anyone have a better idea of what I should do cause even the braid makes my hair a certain shaped because of the three sections and the cross crossing shapes in a braid. Idk what I should do, anyone?

Pérola Traduz: Your hair is so beautiful! Mine is the same type, but it doesn't look so good because I can't deal with the frizz :/

Ekso Ekso: how well does the scarf stay in place if you flop around a lot??

Niyati Bhasin: Btw u do look cute in the satin wrap .. really. Like a rich lady with a Chihuahua. Lol. Edit. I mean in a good way. Really.

Teapot Clown: For some reason, I own silky pants, underwear, bras, and shirts but not one darn scarf

Saira Ahmed: So glad I found this video thank youuuuu you're beautiful btw

Shrek TheOgre: You are a hero! You need more subscribers!

Tammie_: gurl that's insane we have the EXACT SAME HAIR I'm freaking out like litterally

Lo Cruz: When you put your hair up how do you deal with the "stray hairs" like on the bottom by your neck and on top and sides of head. The bottom by my neck especially annoys me like it's not frizzy but it's still crazy and can't pin it cause the pins slide for some reason, too much movement idk.. so frustrating!

Diana Johnston: silk/Satin hair bonnet on sale with Groupon for 12.00 and they are of awesome quality.. loose braid in the bonnet with the satin pillow case...it has kept my hair tangle free and with a mist for curl revive and ur good. I havent had to brush my hair in days!

Dillon Aultman: I FINALLY FOUND SOMEONE WHO HAS THE EXACT SAME HAIR AS ME!!!!!!

Dillon Aultman: I FINALLY FOUND SOMEONE WHO HAS THE EXACT SAME HAIR AS ME!!!!!!

Joey M: I don’t have long enough hair to put up or in bun... rip. I still wake up with waves/curl in my hair but not as much as when I have just taken a shower

WingBingBong: I started using a bonnet the silk scarves would not stay for the life of me and it just got on nerves yes I look stupid with the bonnet but my hair looks great when it comes off so it’s a worth while sacrifice lol

spicy water: Ok... I most definitely have not been sleepin on a satin pillow case. Thank you

MariahAnn: I personally own a satin bonnet, and I got it at Ross.

Dani: Can you put your hair in the scarf damp or should it be dry?

Julissa C: Tj maxx and marshalls have the silk pillow cases for cheap ladies!
