Bedrock Character Creator Update: Hairstyles, Hats, And More!

A new feature has launched in the beta version of bedrock version of a Minecraft. That is the character creator, so we are inside of Minecraft bedrock edition in the beta. You can tell it's beta bait based off of the little badge here, underneath the title and all of the text on the top of the screen can't do anything about it. So it's gon na, be there the entire video sorry about that. So we're gon na be looking at the profile up menu, so we're not checking out any of this middle stuff, we're only just gon na click. The button below our character on the main screen and that'll take us to a new skin, customization page how this used to look was, you would see like Steve and Alex and then the skin you're using and then all the skins you've purchased or are available to You based off of what you've bought on the marketplace. Now you can see, we have basically five different skins slots to play around with this middle one. You can see, there's a trash can. So if I went in here and created a skin real fast, I didn't like it, I can go ahead and trash it, and then it goes away. This one you'll have to have at least one skin at any one given time. So you can't destroy every single one of them all at once. So what's weird is you also have the achievements? Apparently I haven't bought minecraft, which is, I don't understand how I haven't bought minecraft, I'm literally logged in to the profile that owns minecraft anyway. Maybe that's buying a starter pack, I'm confused. I don't know why that's there. It could be that this is a beta bug or beta issue or something like that and then you also have your your tools or your settings, which is the same settings over here. So it's kind of interesting that your profiles, you have your achievements and your settings not sure why they give those to you, but anyway, let's get into actually editing a character. So let's go ahead and start with a brand new one. You'Re gon na hit go ahead and click create character, and you can see that you start off with a Steve and he blinks did you see him blink right there? So that's kind of new and then also sometimes you'll create a Alex as well, not sure how you determine which one of those two you want. You can also go in here so there's two tabs over on top there's a character, creator, tab and then the classic skins tab, and so your owned skins, all of the skins that you have bought in the past. So, like here's all my pastel skins that I've owned in the past they're all still here, so you can keep those a hundred percent around I've also imported a skin because I'm on a PC or I can switch back over to the character creator and start fresh Now the fact that you might create an Alex or a Steve when you first start off that really doesn't matter, because in the editor, you can edit everything so you're, not you're, really not locked in to the base skin that you start off with they're the size Of the arms is different depending on if you get Alex or Steve in the very beginning, but you can change literally all of that and we're gon na get into that a little bit later on we're just gon na go straight down the list, all the way Down so you can see all of the different things so starting off with the base. I will mention that normally there are like your default sort of things up here and then down below with this bar here I'll jump into a different one, the eyes right. So you got ta kind of default eyes and then you have all these other type of eyes, underneath a little divider, for whatever reason. Also, you can have none that none is an option. So let's go back into the base. So you have your normal two and you can see a description of whatever it is over here, so you got Alex. This is apparently the Alex based skin and this is the Steve base skin. If you don't like those, don't worry, you got other options, so you have a freckled skin, a slender skin, a brawny skin, a vitiligo skin. So you have all of these different options. Let'S say that I really like the slender skin and so we're gon na start with that. You also have a palette of colors down here, so you can change the skin color to whatever you want and then, if you switch between these again it'll, keep that same color. So I'll choose a color. That'S close to me! I'M pretty pale, if I do say so myself, maybe not that pale uh there. We go. That'S something like that. Actually, let's do freckle there. You go that that looks good okay, so that will be my base move out of the base and onto the eyes. You can see all the different options and I love these. Some of these are just absolutely ridiculous. I'M here I'm gon na choose on my hair. I'M gon na just remove the hair for right now. Just so you can see the eyes you got cyclops eyes, you got weird winky eyes, you have big eyes some of my favorites. Are these like shocked eyes like oh, my gosh, you got a crazy cry eyes and then all of these have colors within them. So these cry eyes: you can see that there's eyebrows, there's the closed eyes and then there's the says: it's the iris, but really those almost look like tears. So we can make the tears blue, which it says it's the IRS. We can make the eyebrows purple and it would make the similar I'm learning all sorts of body things today. I have no idea with that is the that what the sclera I don't know what is sclera is, but you can change that. I don't even see anything changing them on that here. That'S the switch, oh, oh! Is that that, oh, that's, the white part of your eye is called the sclera. I had no idea, but hey look at that. You can change all of the things. So, let's change that back to white eyebrows brown eyebrows. There we go the actual iris. I have a brown iris. So here, let's change to a lighter brown. Just so it looks a little different and I'll choose these sides mmm. He looks a little frustrated. He looks a little frustrated okay, so we choose that the heavy eyebrows. Why not moving on to the mouth? Once again, you can have none. So if that is what you like, you could also choose some crazy mouth. I love these things. They are ridiculous. They'Re kind of Alan's kind of creepy: it's like really like monster level. Mouth, let's choose a good one. So if you choose a color here, I'm not really sure what does this change? Okay? So it does change. Okay, so changes the mouth color. If you really want the color to be different and then, but if it has teeth or whatever it's basically you're changing the lips, the lip color. So if there is no lip color, then I wish there was a default. Go back to default button cuz! I don't remember what this was at and it looked good before okay, so this is the mouth chose from Madhu: oh darn it. I chose none okay. Here we go moving back and let's go into hair and there's a whole bunch of different hair, and what I do love about this is you: can, you can add the extra bits of hair, so you can go beyond what you can normally do on Java edition And go for some crazy funky hair. This is supposedly the undercut. Is it it says it right there, okay call will keep the undercut. I guess I'm trying to make myself. I don't know this is a little weird facial hair. Ah, you can add facial hair. If you want, I don't want any face, was that a nose was a trim too mustache? No, I don't want to trim mustache cute, no fight facial hair. For me now arms. This is where we start to see that, yes, you can purchase stuff using mine coins and also the first time we can see. Different parts of a player can be changed, so you can change the right arm over here and then switch it over to the left arm and change that to and then, if you wanted those to be different, so you wanted one arm to be default and one Arm to be robotic, you can change that around, so you can have different arms and different legs on in and you obviously can't have different faces. I'M surprised that you couldn't do right eye and left eye, but anyway, so you can change up your arms and these are bought with coins, so you would have to purchase some of these pieces if you really really like them, like this beacon arm here, we're going To leave the arms as default and swap on over to the legs, and you can see the same situation here, there's some crazy peg legs, and this is like a whoa prosthetic blade and a tree trunk leg. That'S adorable and those are both for either side. You have the same thing. Is there a beacon leg? Oh my gosh, this redstone leg is actually really SuperDuper cool. Well, that's that's! Pretty neat! Okay! We'Re sticking into default now sighs! This is what I was trying to say before, which is that, depending on what you choose Steve or Alex, it really doesn't matter, because in the end, you can change the height of your character. So you can see here: let's just go from tallest to shortest tallest right here shortest you can see the extra pixel added into there and then to Eva little bit shorter. You lose some leg and then the shortest you get. You lose some some height and then your arm sizes, you can make small as well, so you can almost make like a troll. Looking guy or just a short person, I mean, let's be honest or a really tall person making thin arms really tall, fit 10th tip-top tall thin. Oh, my gosh can't talk, I'm just gon na kind of go for goofy here. So, let's, let's make a small, a small mini me: this is gon na be mini-me, so that is the body selection. Moving on to the style selection. This is where you're going to have clothes. So before you were changing everything I the base person now you're changing all of the stylistic things, and this is where you're gon na see it. Mine coins come in a lot more. Some of these I already have unlocked. I'M not sure, I'm not sure why. I don't know if this is because I have a different pack already or if they give a few of them away for free. You always have the Steve shirt and the Alex shirt at the top, and then you can switch around some of these other options. I may end up buying some stuff here, actually, I'm wearing a black shirt. Why not? Just okay, I'm gon na stick to the black t-shirt, moving on to the bottoms or the you know pants or I guess it could be dresses as well. Oh man, these look well. I thought they were gon na look a little silly, but actually I don't look that bad on me. Let'S do shorts! Oh my god. I don't why, but these shorts are adorable. Oh my gosh holy. These are some the paint. I don't think the pants would be like where I'd be like amazed by oh, my: are there some free shorts, okay, we're gon na use these free shorts moving on to outerwear? I guess this would be jackets. That sort of thing looks: Oh, oh, my gosh. Yes, please a scarf nice. Okay, oh it looks like there's a always a base. They have like a base undershirt on and all these, so I could add a cool necklace to myself or over shirt. Oh Wow, a really fancy scarf, okay or a tunic. Okay. Give us capes, we want capes, we want capes. I don't think I really want any there's a nice hoodie here. I don't really think I want any I'm gon na say: none, none for the outer we're moving on to a head wear, but obviously this is gon na, be hats, ooh, what a nice little bonnet! Oh a beanie! Oh! This is a beanie. I thought was a bonnet okay. Oh a nice cap. I want a crown. I should just be a king, that's actually where I should be: okay, I'm gon na. Do it I'm, but I'm buying this top hat. This top hat is just too much okay. I'Ve, no idea why it wants me to buy minecraft. I thinks that I don't own minecraft, I own minecraft. Okay, I can't buy the Hat cuz. I apparently I don't own minecraft moving on. We got some gloves. These also include things that would just go on your hand like bracelets. I'M surprised that you can't do a left hand and a right hand situation here, but what what is long gloves? So that's pretty cool, so you got a whole bunch of different things. I, like the boxing gloves, those are kind of adorable. None of this is free and since I apparently don't own minecraft can't buy anything, let's go into Footwear, so you start off with. It looks like I'm wearing the Alex shoes, Oh Steve shoes and Alex shoes, okay, but we also have a few others um. So we got some nice boots. Those look fancy those cover up my shorts. Now I need to show off my fancy shorts. These are some basic flats. Okay got some red. I think I'm just gon na go with some sneakers some basic sneakers here, oh you guys are done. I could be barefoot. Look at my little pixelated toes! No, let's put on some shoes back item I get where I am tail you put a tail on. Oh my gosh, that's this is new. Look how thin it is. It'S so thinning. You can have a tail now! That'S the only back item available to you and a face item. Let'S see what's available here. Are these are glasses? Okay, I see so I could wear some fancy glasses, an eye patch, oh heck, yeah. I want an eye patch. Okay, we're gon na have an eye patch. Oh, I could do right side or left side. Let'S, let's do that side. Okay and now I've created my character. So I'm all finished here go back and you can see that the character has been created and I can choose that character from my profile options, and now this will eventually. I assume this will eventually reflect on anything that I'm signed into on bedrock. Now I did mention Cape scape, scape scapes, they actually mentioned Cape scape, scapes, minecraft Mojang does, and they say that, yes, the character creator will allow them to issue capes to people in the future. Stay tuned, which I would imagine that's code for stay tuned for minecraft earth would be my guess there you have it, that's the character creator. I hope you enjoyed it. I think that this is a fantastic addition to the bedrock version of the game. I'Ve always felt that it is a little bit frustrating that you can't edit your character as well as you could on Java edition. With Java, you could make your own skin. You can download tons of skins. You can make it exactly what you want, and now you have that ability in the base game of bedrock. That'S actually really really powerful and great. It'S a really easy way and I'm AI feel, like I made a great character completely free. I didn't have to spend any mind coins because we couldn't, but I didn't, have to spend any mind coins and I made a really really fantastic character for free. So I think that this opens up a ton of possibilities for players to really make their character their own. Also. I could see this with a whole bunch of new game types coming out for Minecraft we're talking. You know Minecraft earth minecraft dungeons. We have bedrock already. I could see some and they're talking about giving you capes. I could see I'm. This is total speculation. I have no idea of this as possible, but I could see maybe some cross-platform stuff like okay. Well yeah. You do this over here on dungeons. Maybe you get a cool little skin thingy to like go over on bedrock, better recognition, no idea, total speculation, profit on price, not gon na happen.
