How To Curl Salon Mannequin Doll With Synthetic Hair

So on today's video, I'm going to show you how to curl synthetic hair using Hot Tools on a mannequin head doll. I purchased this mannequin head doll from Amazon. Most all of the mannequin heads come with straight hair with some of them. You can use Hot Tools on using curling, irons and flat irons here, I'm just showing you how straight this hair actually is. Now I found, unfortunately, with such straight synthetic hair. When you go to pin it up, it doesn't stay up in a pin. Here'S an example of what I'm talking about so, if you're trying to do updos and pinning curls up on the hair, the hair does not stay in the pin because of the hair being so stiff and smooth it pops right out. So this type of hair is great, for, if you doing braids or just big twists updos, as you can see, I have two different mannequin dolls, both with synthetic hair and I had the same problem with both dolls. So I ended up taking my curling iron, twisting the hair around the curling iron and pinning it the reason you want to pin. It is because the synthetic hair is basically a thicker plastic and it needs time to cure to maintain the curl without pinning the curl up. It'Ll just fall straight again, maybe leaving a little wave at the end. Now, when using a curling iron, you don't want to put it on max heat. You want it on low to medium heat, so you don't melt the doll hair and once you have all of your doll, hair, curled and pinned up leave it set to cool. Once it's cool, you can take it out, and you have this wave. This curl will help when it comes time to doing updos. As I find the hair is more flexible and the pin has something to grab on to. You can also change your hairstyle back to straight, just by using a flat iron on low to medium heat, for your straight style looks if you'd like to see the other videos where I purchase these dolls. I will link them in this video and also on how to reface these dolls. If you don't like the face of the doll, when you receive the doll now back to the other mannequin here, we just have it all pinned up after curling with a hot tool. I'M sure everybody knows how to work a curling iron, so I left that part out if you'd like to see a video using a curling iron or flat iron, leave that in the comments as if I have enough interest, I will make a video of it, and Here you can see the difference when we take all the pins out, leaving a nice wavy curl for updos or any kind of hairstyle.
