This hair tutorial will show you how to create the bubble ponytail which was a very trendy and popular hairstyle back in the 80's and early 90's. Today I decided that I want to bring this cool hairstyle back and since people don't really wear neon-colored hair bands anymore, I thought I would cover the hair ties with a wrap-around strand to make it look more chic.
This hairstyle will work on medium to long hair so extensions aren't necessary unless you have short hair. I used them this in this video to avoid back-coming my hair for extra volume. Also, if you don't have a topsy tail, you can always use a bobby pin or just stick your fingers through the ponytail and pull the strand through. ^_^ I hope you guys will wear this style to parties and clubs! I think it has potential to be edgy depending on your attitude and how you wear your makeup with it. Enjoy! :)

Hey guys today, I'm going to take you way back and show you how to do this bubble ponytail with a twist. I'M sure many of you have done this hairstyle with different color hair ties when you were just a kid, but today I'm going to show you how to do the finger old version. So, let's begin first off gather your hair into a high ponytail and tie it with a very tight hairband. This part is optional, but I want my hair to be extra voluminous, so I'm going to use my irresistible me clip in ponytail extensions. All you have to do is stick the comb where your hair tie is then wrap the ribbon around the base of the ponytail tie. The ribbon in a knot then pick up a strand of hair from your ponytail and wrap it around the ribbon to conceal it. When that's done, grab two bobby pins and secure the hair in place so right now you should have something that looks like this for the next step, you'll need a few tiny elastic bands that look like this, and I just get mine from the dollar store. You'Ll. Also need the Topsy tail, and here I'm using the smaller one from Conair. So moving on slip, your ponytail through the elastic band and take the end of your Topsy tail and stick it into that elastic. Take a small section of hair from your ponytail and wrap it around the elastic band twice then, stick the end of that strand through the Topsy tail loop and then look for the end of the Topsy tail and hold it down this secures the strand keeps it In place, if you don't have a Topsy tail at home, just grab a bobby, pin and open it up like this wrap. The Strand of hair around the elastic bands grab the Strand with the bobby pins and stick the bobby pin in the center of the ponytail and pull it down. This will also pull the hair down with it and if you don't have a bobby pin, you can always use your fingers to fold the Strand down to give your ponytail a bubble effect. Then all you have to do is gently tug on your hair. Like so then do the same thing at the end of your Topsy tail through the elastic band wrap a strand of hair around. It then put the end of the strand through the loop and pull the pop see poppy hit Topsy tail down from here. You just want to repeat the exact same steps until you reach the end of your ponytail again. The ponytail extension is optional, but if you want, you can always back comb your hair beforehand to give it some extra volume. So what do you think of this blast from the past? Love it or leave it?
