Hi, I'm Michelle Simone and I'm a hair stylist and today we're going to show you one way to put short hair up into a high ponytail. So the first thing I'm going to do is take the top section of hair from about the ears up and I'm just going to section that off, because what I'm going to do is take the rest of her hair and do a French braid coming up towards The ponytail this is going to be a good way to try to collect all those little hair pieces and get them to stay in to the ponytail. So I'm just doing the top part loosely and we'll go back and comb that up, but we're going to start with the back when you're doing this on yourself, it's going to be helpful to just flip your head over and start French braiding upside down. But since I'm doing it on her she's just going to tilt her head forward and I'm going to start this way, taking my comb and just comb, it all up towards the ponytail. And if you need to add a little bit of product to give it some extra hold, don't worry about the pieces that fall out, we'll pin them in later so you're going to cross over grab a new chunk of hair and then just turn that over-the-top pull It tight grab another section, pull that in grab another section and then just continue that until you get to the top of your hair, when you get to the top just complete the braid, as you would normally we're going to take that section, we're going to add It to the rest of your ponytail, so for now I'm just going to secure it with a small rubber band to keep it in place. Okay, once you've done, the French braid and flip your head back up, take out the top section of hair that you had tied away and then comb it all up to make a nice ponytail right at the top of your head, making sure to grab all the Pieces that are still left out and then go back and grab the piece of hair that you had braided once you've collected all of your hair, take another little hairband and secure it off. So here's the final look: we just created a high ponytail for short hair
