You hi, ladies Sabrina here: I've received a la la lotta requests for a hair tutorial based on the updo that I was wearing in my March. I shadow favorites video, so here it is, if you have thick curly hair. Like me, you know summer is coming and it's going to be hotter than Hades and you want to get that hair up off of your neck. Well, let me tell you this is the best updo, but I know of it's quick and simple and easy, and it still has a nice sophisticated look to it stay tuned for the quick, easy peasy hair tutorial to start this look you want to have damp hair. So obviously mine is damp right now and a good gel in addition to a towel of some kind. The gel that I use is from Pantene. This is called curly, hair style, gel curl, shaping extra strong hold. This is what it looks like, and I love this gel because it goes in and doesn't flake. There are a lot of gels out there that when you put them in your hair, they end up flaking around looks like you have dandruff ya, know, not a good look, and this one isn't stiff either. It still creates a lot of movement in your hair. So it's not like that stiff crunchy kind of gel either. So I'm just going to take a good amount into my hand, work it through both hands. Once you got it all over the place, then you just want to run it through your hair and really focus on the ends of the hair so working it through working it through getting it everywhere. I can feel it dropping on my foot. I usually do about two applications like this, where I will do the same thing: I'll just put big old dollops into my hand and then just go through my hair twice, making sure you get it all over the ends. This is very hard to do in a camera frame and you want to flip it over and get the underside at the inside here too. Okay, once you have a good amount of that worked into your hair and it's evenly distributed throughout, then you want to take your towel and you want to go through and just scrunch it all over the place with towel just to get it to dry up. You don't want to use a hairdryer to help it dry because it will end up making the curls frizzy and you want them to be very natural. Very soft looking so using the towel really helps to create that kind of a look, and this really, I usually do this when I'm watching TV, because I'll sit there for 30 minutes and just do this. You know it sounds like a lot of work. It is, but it's totally worth it in the end: okay, through the magic of editing, I'm going to keep doing this and I'll be back to show you how to put it up into a nice messy bun. So now I'm at the point where my hair is semi dry, it's still a little damp, which is perfectly fine, but it's pretty much dry throughout, so for the next step to get that nice updo that I had in that video. What you'll need is just a simple hair tie like this and a few bobby pins, so I just have like that. Many, I don't know how many this is nine. I have nine bobby pins. I probably won't use them all, but hey better, add more than less right. So what you want to do is just take all that hair all that hair, get it right back there into a ponytail. This is kind of a messy look, so it doesn't need to be perfect, put it into a ponytail and you want it to be kind of like half way on the head. You know you don't want it to be high, but you don't want it to be super low either then to get that nice up, you just want to take your hand basically and just smoosh it in like that and take all the hair bring it up. So it's like pretty much gathered around that ponytail, so it should look something like that. You know in your hand, then you want to take all of your little bobby pins and just start placing them on certain sections just to hold that hair down. You should have ends that are loose. You know that you can see around, but you want to make sure not hollow pieces are pretty much tucked up around your head. Hope you enjoyed this look and it's one that you can use this summer to keep that hair up off your neck. Thanks for watching and I'll see you next time.

Zabrena: I typically do this kind of hairstyle on Day 2 of my hair being curly :) I only showed it from beginning to end so there wasn't any confusion, but yes, Day 2 is my day for this usually. Which REALLY makes it a 3 minute hair-do! ;)

millie purkhardt: I saw this video six months ago and did it for a wedding I was going to, I've literally done my hair like this everyday since, its so easy and for once my hair doesn't fight it, thanks xxx

Charismatickoala: Thank you SO much!! I had to go to a formal party, and I wanted more than just my curly hair. I did the entire up-do in literally 5 minutes!! Thank you again! BTW, you have the prettiest eyes!! :)

Andrea Donovan: You have the most shiny, soft-looking curly hair that I've ever seen. Just incredible!

Jessie Hickling: OMG!!! This is perfect I have been looking for something like this for ages cos my hair is so frizzy and that gel totally calmed it down xx thank you

MissMia916: I'm so glad I saw this video! I wear my hair up a lot because its incredibly thick and wavy, making it so hard to do quickly in the morning. This is just what I was looking for b/c I have a wedding to go to tomorrow and as pretty as my hair can be flat ironed, its way too hot for that! Thanks! =)

Texangirl02: Thanks for sharing this! I've always been doing this same hairstyle by putting it in a clip and trying to hide the clip, and if it didn't look right, i'd give up. I just now tried this, and it worked perfectly. I think I'll be doing it this way from now on.

Agnes K.: that looks lovely. I've had curly hair all my life and hated it!!! but now I'm trying to embrace it cuz I don't want to ruin it with all the straightening so I'm definitely going to try this pretty look :)

Anna Naveira: Wow, your hair is amazing! And that beachy-curly texture is to die for :D

in-the-anomaly: Not only do I envy your hair incredibly, I also really envy the fact that you can wear your hair in a ponytail without getting a headache. It takes all of about 15 minutes for me. Not being able to wear my hair up without pain has really limited my hairstyles.

Ann Zingg: Thank you thank you thank you. I simply cannot thank you enough! My son's wedding is this weekend and I can do this and it looks good, never had any luck with doing my own hair before but you made it so simple. THANK YOU.

TsunaEnaida: I love this tutorial! I also love the make up too! You're so beautiful!!

Donna M: Love your videos and approach! I kept trying this hairstyle and I kept over pinning. (I just couldn't help myself:). But I figured out an even easier way to do this hairstyle (for me). After making a pony tail, smoosh all the hair against the back of the head, just the same as you did, then use a round claw clip to clip it all over the pony tail. Then adjust the style by pulling out pieces to make it bigger and cover the clip...you can make it as messy looking as you want to and it has the same great result as your style. You can pull out the pieces of hair partially or completely to achieve the shape you want. I wouldn't have thought of this without your great ideas and fantastic instructions.

Trisha Yves: This was the very first video that I watched on your channel and you still look stunning as ever <3

1517mickey: I absolutely love your natural hair! It gorgeous!

Ev: Wow this tutorial was great and easy! I'm going to try it .

Zabrena: Hi! Yes, it is naturally wavy and doing that does help to make it much more curly. There were a few ladies further down the comments who have hair like yours that tried this technique and it did make their hair more wavy, so it's worth a try! I don't think it'd be as curly, but I believe it would add great volume to your hair. :) Thanks for asking!

TheAll555: I finally found a new style for my curly mane thank you thank you!

Kacey Roten: I love your makeup in this video! You should do it more often! :)

kate hillier: I love love looove your hair! My curls are exactly the same only I can never seem to find a product that controls my frizz but doesn't make it feel icky! Also a fellow redhead ✌ haha Will definitely be trying this style

Maureen H.: Oh My You're Beautiful! Your make-up and skin is so porcelain like and natural. There are soo many videos on YouTube but you my dear are the most real. blondwiththewind: Wonderful Style and How-To techniques!!!  My hair tends to be wavy most of the time...but certainly curlier if it's summer/humid.  I think I could do this if I sleep in a damp french braid...then do your towel/scrunching technique in the AM....or maybe curl the hair before styling.  Just gorgeous....and pretty easy to do!!!!  THANKS!!!

Wozzy 96: Your curly hair is soo beautiful!! I wish mine looked like that
