Pixie and Bluebell

Hi guys in today's video we're going to talk about cats hygiene today, we're going to show you how we do a very professional bus stream. Our cards are long haircuts and sometimes, if you don't take care of those areas and they might become uh slightly problematic when the cat goes to the bathroom to the litter box and a little residue might stay on the hair if it's not trimmed properly um. So today, we're going to show you how we do that for pics in blue bow. This parsley was just delivered to us and it's a very special person, and it's actually really funny because they made me sign for it give them my date of birth and everything, and it's literally a pair of um, rounded scissors. So they're not sharp at the end, and these are four years plus. So why did they get my date of birth? I don't know anyway, let's get into them, and these are all so cute. I didn't see them mon ordered them earlier. Oh yeah, um good size. I thought they were will be smaller, but i think they are perfect. I think they're perfect. We will definitely link them down down below for you um, and there was a few other designs as well. We only ordered different pair because we already have pair that's rounded at the end that we've been using up to this moment. Um, however they're just a little bit rusty now and we thought, let's order a new pair, so it looks better on a video it literally. The trim that we're giving cuts today is naturally to prevent any accidents from occurring. However, this is nature and cuts sometimes do get dirty, even if you do give them a trim. So sometimes you know they can step a paw into things that they shouldn't in a litter box, and should this happen um we actually using a no rinse shampoo, because we find it's a little bit less stressful for the cats when we don't have to put the Whole pore or the entire bottom under running water, and in that case, and this no rinse shampoo, it actually comes out like a foam and we put it on a cotton pad or this reusable bamboo pan. And that way. Even if we clean it with this - and they lick it straight after it's actually not harmful for them, naturally don't use too much. We always use minimal amounts necessary to do the job and, and that works perfectly minimal sand and safe for cats, makes the job. So much easier, but let's get to the purpose of today's video and let's show you how we give them buttrum. You already know that we're going to need our super cute scissors. I also like to use a little bit of a toilet paper and just slightly damp, because that helps me collect all the fur and it stops it from like flying around the house. Um. Usually, if i was to do it alone, i would do it in a bathroom over the sink, because that way, it's um easier, and you know it only requires one person and the mess doesn't go everywhere. If you are alone - and you have to put your cat in the sink - it's always better to put the towel underneath because then they it's, it helps them with a different texture than just sink and and it stops them from like slipping on the sink, and it Makes them feel a little bit more comfortable, however, for today i'm going to use my assistant mon who's going to hold the card just so i can record it better for you guys, oh, and if your cat mysteriously changes into a devil as soon as you try To pick it up at the end of this video, we're going to show you how to make a burrito, we have our assistant and a cat that needs a bad trimmer. Okay. So what i'm going to do, i'm just going to start to gently get to the skin, so i know where the fur ends, and so i don't clip any of the skin. You can imagine this would be quite painful, especially in this area, and we don't want to scare the cat for the for the future bathrooms okay, so i'm going to start quite far away from the actual bum um just to get him used to it, and so We don't get to the center straight away, um and, as i do this uh, you can see that the paper is very helpful at collecting the fur um, i'm sort of using the scissors uh as like a i don't know like a spatula or something to move. The hair onto the paper and because it's slightly damp, it collects everything and if you just look at how i am holding bluebell, i'm holding him um below his front paws. So i'm almost like giving him a little bit of like a ledge on here uh, and i found that when i hold the cat's paws, they do seem to be a little bit more calm, very gently literally no force used, i'm just holding it a little bit. So it is easier and then he doesn't move around as much now when it comes to the area that you want to trim. If you think about the gravity and where things would have gone, you want to go from the um from under the tail down, and this is kind of the area that you want to trim. And naturally, you want to get some of the hair and that's like around on the sides, because that will get in the way as well um. We still want him to look like uh like a normal card and not shave him completely, and it's literally just making it shorter. So you don't want to go all the way to the skin. You just want to make it slightly shorter, okay, so this is blue. Done very unflattering angle, but gives you idea of where i trimmed the hair so um. I went from below the tail slightly down and a bit of the sides and that's literally what we do um every couple weeks or so it doesn't have to be done. Uh too often um, as they don't grow back that quickly, um and now uh. Let'S do pixie, naturally with a female cat pixie, and there is little bit less things to go around, so the trim usually goes a little bit more efficient, but pixie seems to be very hairy today. She'S going bad her day, pixie doesn't have as many accidents as blubo does so uh with her we're not as consistent um with trimming her hair in this area, but bluebell gets hygiene stream like more frequently yeah. One thing i noticed with the new scissors. I can see that they do a much better job than the previous ones purely because they're just sharper, and i can see that they're not pulling on any hair uh, which makes it more comfortable for the cats. So if you notice that your scissors are pulling on um like hair, individual hair and definitely get a new pair, because it's not worth it to like stretch your cat out and it's important to have the rounded edge scissors. Because then, you don't have to worry about stabbing your cat by accident, so these are very safe to use, but they are also pretty sharp, even though they're just children's ones she's just looking at me. Okay, i think she's done now with both cats done and their bums trimmed. We always say that it's really important to positively reinforce your cat and any time that we do anything that might cause them any slight discomfort and we reward them with a treat afterwards and naturally pixie knows what's coming. So i'm sure the moment mom puts her down. She'S going to run straight to get her treat, let's see if this happens, she knows where the trees are one mere cut and one speedy, gonzales very unflattering angle, again um, but you can see there is no hair going like right under the tail. If you know what i mean, oh he's too quick once again: hey bluebee there you go nice and clean, so we still left the pantaloons. It'S just literally the minimal hair um just going down from the bum bum yeah, and this is the hair that matt got from them uh. This is from one cut. Actually, this is from pixie from one cat, okay, yeah uh. So it's not like a huge amount. Um but uh you can see that there's a different color so like one of them is from like a little bit of the pantolons or like um from like the belly side and there's also a little bit from the tail, because that's um. That seems to get in the way a little bit as well just quickly going back to what we said about positive reinforcement. Honestly, i can't stress enough how important this is to use pixie as an example when she was little. She had eye infection twice and you can imagine it's not very easy to put like any medication into your cat's eye, but we taught her that every time she had her medication like dropped in the eye she would get treats so eventually over time. When you picked her up and then picked up the medication, she already knew that she was gon na get a treat. So she didn't make any fuss about this, and i think this helped uh with like any future treatment or like trimming claws literally anything to do with like a cat and because she knows - and she expects to get a treat afterwards. And it's a small price to pay if your cat is going to behave a lot better whenever you have to deal with anything with them. So for the burrito we're going to use a towel, there is different techniques that you can find online. But what we're going to show? You is quite easy to like almost capture your cat, so we're going to do it with pixie. She thinks she's getting another treat yay we're putting the towel over the cat, and then you scoop it out in front of its paws. Like so and then you can lift the cat up and flip it over now. Of course, if you need to, if your cat is being a little bit windy and then you'll have an extra person helping you do the trim, but also another thing you can do, you can cover the cat's eyes and that way they won't move around as much So that's a really helpful trick if your cat is being a little bit of a devil one thing to notice as well her front paw uh under the towel, so she can't scratch too much with the front paws. Naturally we have to have access to the back. So the back paws will unfortunately be flying around if she's kicking, but the front paws won't scratch you, and this is how we give our cats a bad trim. I hope you found this video useful and if you did leave us a poop emoji down in the comments below and of course, pour that like button. It really does go a long way for a small channel like ours and we also working on another video. Spiffy Kitty Cat Grooming NYC - Educational: Groomer tip. When using scissors, you can insert a small metal grooming comb between skin and fur that is being trimmed. That way, scissors have no way of cutting skin. Cat skin can tear easily, like paper, if it is nicked. Beautiful sweet kitty. Great trimming work.

Sallie Snyder: Thanks for this! I have a chubby, fluffy cat who always has to get “bum baths” that turn into “entire body baths” because he squirms some much. Tonight my daughter and I successfully trimmed him using scissors. He didn’t like it, but I think with time it will get easier.

Lin Thaver: Thanks for this and especially the scissors tip. I tried to do this alone, even the burrito and my cats just hissed and cried (and they are usually super calm). Eventually put some treats in front of them and snuck behind them and trimmed them while they were eating- worked like a charm. No cries, and they didn’t even realise! At one point one of them looked at me and just went back to eating her treats. Just a tip for anyone who is still struggling.

ambition67: I have a 6 mo old ragdoll kitten that I just took to the vet to have a sanitary trim. Thank you so much for this video. I feel confident that I can try it myself next time. I love all your videos!

Parvati Patil: Cool. Thank you for showing this. It's good to see some non-professional do this without an electric trimmer.

Empressah: Thank you all! I’ve just adopted two very floofy kittens and having never had fluffys before, the problems hadn’t occurred to me. But I’ve had them home two days and have had to do even more bum baths I’ll buy the dry shampoo and scissors

HAZEL김혜진: This was extremely useful for a new cat owner like me!:) thank you so much for making this video!

Homemakersheart: You both did a great job with this video, and it speaks a lot at how relaxed Pixie and Bluebell are relaxed while you give a trim. I am getting 2 ragdolls the end of July and am learning a bit now to better prepare me. I had a ragdoll last year, and at 6 mths she got fixed and developed FIP. It was fatal. The shock has taken a toll, but I really would love a kitty and the breeder recommends 2 for me to help with all the play time. Thank you for your channel.

Vanilla Cat: The calmest cats ive ever seen

Kathy Hagen: My floof just made a mess so I guess it's time to tackle a butt trim! Thanks for the great tutorial!

Kristin Rees Johnson: Thank you for the tutorial! My Fluffa just had his first trim

monapindkayani: Thx for doing a live video these cats are soo adorable

Red Zayda: Awesome video! Thanks for showing us how you do it.

carissa hernandez: Thank you for sharing! I appreciate the use of scissors instead of an electric trimmer. My cats would not react well to the noise of the electric option so I appreciate you showing how to trim with scissors instead

Julia Nguyen: Thanks for the video! I was searching everywhere to see if anyone else trim their cat's but hair. We have a 6mo siberian kitten and we found we had to do that a few weeks ago as her fur gets longer, i couldn't find any info on the internet so thought we were tbe odd one out!

Ruth Corridoni: What beautiful cats! Thank for the tips!

Lisa Mounts: She so adorable, looking up at mum. We have happy poopers !

ABQ Annie: My cat goes crazy if I try to trim down there. It takes me a few weeks to get a few cuts while he is sleepy.

Elaine Flores: Your cats are absolutely stunning ❤️

Chop-Top Sawyer: I've been struggling with my longhaired cat keeping herself clean (she's orange) so I'm going to try and trim around her tushie. She seems to not care about the mess or smell but I do.

Xxxxxxx: I think you guys can read my mind I was searching the Internet for a Video like this and thought to myself if it would seem weird to ask for one we are getting our ragdoll kittens in 4 weeks love your channel! Greetings from Vienna

amy hillary: Love ur videos and pixie and bluebell are so sweet ❤️

Mari Asher: Thank you!! This is something I have to do solo and it’s hard work but appreciate the video

flora4: thank you for the tips. It is unusual to find a butt trim using scissors instead of an electric shaver. This will help with my new cat and her fluffy tail. Thank you.

glorija vogrin: You can see that you have a lot of love for pixie and Bluebell and you will do anything for them to fell safe like I will do for my cats ♥️stay safe

Ernestine Maloney: It would be worth my life to try this with any of my 3 cats. I’ve had cats for 50 years so I’m not a novice

Karen Diaz Borg: This is great! Thank you!

Amani Amir: Such an informative video, especially when you've got a new ragdoll kitty! I have a question: Do you guys brush their teeth, and do you cut the fur by their paws?

Jessie: Your cats are very pretty. Thank you for the video, I trimmed my cats area tonight she was not happy. But she needed it.

Jennifer Burke: I never thought to use scissors! Thank you so much!!

Carol Raethel - Metaphysical Minister (Dip. OT): I love hitting the like button for every video. You give good info and kitty eye candy :-) I had to bath my cat after a long car trip, moving house. There was very little fur that was NOT covered in poo, and he just sat in the warm water and let me clean him. No fuss at all. I think when they reach that stage, they know we will help them, and the trust was something that really touched my heart. I cried after it actually, because of the trust and he obviously knew I would know how to help him. That was so touching

Jennifer Purdon: Beautiful meowdels!

Karen Jordan: Thanks for the help!

SnappingTurtle801: Thanks for the video. I'm trying to get a dingleberry off of my cat w/o hurting her and its just me. If she wasn't so afraid of water I'd bathe her instead.

MackerelCat: Beautiful cats!

Hum Prof 2: So helpful. Thank you. ‍⬛

Gary W: Beautiful cats!

Chris Meyers: apparently your scissors regulations are better than our gun regulations here in the US! Pretty cats. This is so helpful - my chubby cant cannot reach her bottom! lol

Marian Brooks: Just wondering what are the treats you are giving to Pixie and Bluebell. They are so precious. I am still trying to figure out what breed of cat my longhaired Fluffy is. Wish I could add a pic. I am sure a Vet will know on his first visit. I live in a small town and am trying to find a "good" Vet. A worker at a convenience store said he just saw a person open their car door and drop him out. I just couldn't leave him there near a busy highway. He had a collar and had already been "fixed" and guessing about a Teenager. He quickly grew out of his collar and he is so very loving and vocal. Talks all the time. And I do really want to know what treats you use. His butt area needs a trim and so glad you have this video for me to learn how. Thanks for letting me tell my story. And wish me luck in finding a Vet that really loves animals and not just in it to make money.

Whitelight Shines: Pixie sand Bluebell are so cute

Venom286: Our cat has grown so much hair that I finally decided to give him a lion cut , wish me luck when I have to trim the back side

celine barbier st hilaire: This video is interesting. I'm used to do when it's dirty but not before it. So I will now. Thank you.

Chris Meyers: so helpful! Subscribed

Joanna Maja: I do it when my cat is asleep, but she slept in a funny pose so I accidently also cut the top of her tail and it looks ridiculous I have to do it again maybe when she is awake cuz she pooped herself again

Reservoir Wolves: Thank you so much for this lol

Sofia Cornwell: Can’t wait!!! :) ✨ I love you so much!!!

Arl: Your cats are charming! I have two long haired tuxedos and although they are sweet they really do not like being trimmed and run away, suggestions?

Nadia B.: Ty!! Going to try this on my Persian

Janet Robertshaw: Informative and made me laugh too.....

LM: Elsa and Loki would like to thank you both for guiding their new pawrents through their first butt trim session!

Steph Picton: Thanks so much for this. My little 4 month had a terrible accident last night and it was a nightmare trying to clean him!

Alyssa: This was great! I’ve got a long haired orange tabby. He’s quite the devil when it comes to being touched or held. The purrito hack will definitely come in handy. Thanks!

Laura P: Thank you!

Joycelyn Tang: yay! cannot wait

Sonja Rogers: Hello we have 2 pure white Doll-face Persian kittens- we use Anna’s Naturals face wash and setting powder. Plus we get them groomed professionally. Still we cannot get the tear stains from the corners of their eyes. Can you PLEASE tell me what you use to keep your fur babies eyes so white and clean? Thank you! And love your video! ☺️ ‍⬛

Felicity Usher: My ragdoll has a big matted bit on her bum which is catching poop and causing problems with hair loss on her tail . I’m going to be doing this from now on so thank you!

Mona Teru: I wish my boy was full ragdoll so he would flop more and let me do this

Joe Mcdonald: Glad to see lm not the only one gifted with this task ‍⬛

Subtle Shenanigans: Okay gonna try the purrito. Redd doesn’t scratch she just squirms a lot

Mel M: Do you guys brush their teeth? Could you please do a video? Thank you

Patrycja Holub: Love the video!

Mic Vav: “Mysteriously turns into a devil”

luvyatubers: Came home to skid marks on white rug. Thought it was my fluffy butt dog. Nope was year old cat

Marianne Printz: Thanx Now I will try to trim my rag dolls Gunnar and Hedda.

Love Infusion Ragdoll Cattery: ❤️

Murphy, Lana and CASSIDY: Do you trim that long fur on the bottom of the cats paws.?

Yo Dempsey: I so needed to see a 1-person video, not a 2-person video!

Michelle W: My cat would literally kill me

p0edelijntjee: Well my cats butt really needs a trim but she will absolutely NOT allow you to go near that area with anything

Irma Westerback: Thank you from your video. Fiskars is here in Finland

fred pelletier: I heard there's a beauty salon that uncurls your but hairs.

OneZeldaToRuleThemAll: I just adopted a 3/4 ragdoll 1/4 mainecoon so I'm sure this video is going to come in real handy, thank you!

Santilata Sethi: Sir can you please tell me that my kitten will probably be 4 or 4 and half months old i'm not dure I think .. she always used to poop here and there then we made a poop tray for her then she starts doing in it but now again she is doing it anywhere. Now what is the solution for this, please tell means, she is doing anyywhere like under something that is very clumsy to clean like cleaning in the bottom corner of the cupboard, means... you cannot do it like there is only 8 or 9 centimetres distance to clean...

nicole cake: I need to do this for my cat. She stinky.

Becky Silverberg: You waving your scissors around like a crazy person while explaining things, doesn't fill me with confidence. Makes me nervous!

Gabriela Zagórska: Nobody asked - everybody needed

linkhostr: My cat has hairballs i want to cut off, but it's impossible for her to stay in one place

Clare A-S: Have a ‘heavily larded foot’ in other words

Maira Shahid: I do not have a cat, I am allergic to cats so why did I watch a 10 min video about trimming cat butt hairs

Yvonne Beach:

alex: I had a Siberian mix from when I was a toddler up until a few years ago, and she was very good at cleaning herself, so we never really had any issues. I have a Norwegian Forest Cat now, though, and even though he's almost 5, he's not the best at cleaning and we've had a few accidents. He's a sweetheart, but every time I try to trim his claws, he acts like he's being tortured....time to burrito!

tomalba7: You're not supposed to use scissors this is poor advice.
