In this step-by-step hair tutorial video for beginners, learn how to waterfall braid and French braid your hair to create an intricate high messy bun style.
Today's hairstyle is also known as a Never-ending French Braided Bun or the Starburst braid, however, I cheated so it ends lol... watch the tutorial to see what I mean here.
Heatless Bun hairstyles can be done on short, medium, or long hair, whether your hair is straight, curly, wavy, or curly. If you have layered hair, just use some hair wax before braiding your hair.

Hi guys, i'm tina from makeup wearables and today we're going to create an introduce fun hairstyle with braids. First we're going to use some hair wax from sexy hair to make the braiding part easier and then divide our hair into three parts. So, let's start making the first section around the hairline and clip it out of the way this hairstyle is rather difficult. I am not even gon na lie to you guys it took me: five tries to get it so watch my steps carefully. Next create a circular section at your crown and tie it with an elastic band. This next step is optional, but if you choose to use hair extensions, attach it as you're doing a ponytail, i'm only using three wefts from my estelle secret hair extensions here. But if you guys want to make the bun a lot thicker then go ahead and use more tie it with another elastic band, and then i'm going to insert a donut here before clipping it out of the way. So you guys can see my sections a lot better and then clip it with the middle section. So that's any hair, that's not in the first layer or the crown. Okay, so see what i did here. We have the first section, the middle section and the top section, which has the donut next uncut the first section. This next step is also optional, but if you want to use hair extensions here in the front, you have to tease your hair first, so you can hide the clips and we're going to clip them going away from the face. I only use one of the clips from the cell secret hair extension set, but if you choose to use it all around your whole head just remember to clip it all going towards the ponytail for this hairstyle. We'Re gon na make waterfall braids with our first section. But i found it near impossible to do this on my own hair in just one section. So what we're gon na do is divide it into two sections, so we're gon na cheat. Okay, so make a hard side, part on the side and clip with the light side. Waterfall braids are basically a french braid on one side and a normal braid on the other, and it will look something like this: we're going to take some hair from the bottom and add it to the bottom strand and cross them both over the middle strand. And remember what i said about being a normal braid. What we're going to do is for this side we're always going to get rid of the top strand, pin it down, because waterfall braids are very unreliable and then create a new strand and cross it over the middle strand. Alright. So let's do that again. Add in some hair from the bottom to the bottom strand and cross it over the middle, get rid of the top strand, pin it down and create a new strand to cross over the middle strand. Again, hair from the bottom goes into the bottom strands. So we can cross it over the middle strand, get rid of the top strand and clip it down, make a new strand to cross over bottom to bottom. We take it over the middle strand drop the top strand. Pin that down then make a new strand to cross over throw back the covers and rub my eyes, and what is that i see in the mirror? I could see my own reflection and he's staring back at me. He said in the day there are a thousand ways, a million possibilities, so sleepyhead hear what i said get out of bed. No, don't you have some place to be under the ponytail. Add in the two odds for braids we just made before redoing the ponytail. Once that's been done, install your donut and pin it down spread out your hair around the donut. If you don't have enough hair to go around the donut, all you need to do is tease your hair until the donut is completely covered. Now. What did i just see and then bobby pin them in place so that they don't move as you're braiding it so take a small section to start a braid just put some music in your step, and it can go a little something like this then add in Hair from the bottom to the bottom strand and cross it over the middle and take hold of this moment and give it all you've got cause, it won't come round again it don't matter how you start, adding hair from the ponytail to the top strand and cross. It over the middle add in hair from the waterfall braid to the bottom strand and cross it over the middle. Add in hair from the ponytail to the top strand and cross it over the middle. So sleepyhead hear what i said get out of bed now. Don'T you have some place to be hair from the waterfall braid goes into the bottom strand before crossing it over the middle and hair from the ponytail goes into the top strand before we cross it over the middle okay. So we're going to braid like this. Until we get to the middle of our nape - and i completely forgot to tell you guys to unclip the waterfall braid as you're bringing it down, because if you do it at once, all at once i mean what happens is the whole waterfall section comes undone and Becomes a whole big mess so as you're braiding, the middle part you're going to unclip it one by what did one just see, step out the bedroom down the hallway to the kitchen, and i found myself coffee there. I am again in the coffee cup saying to thyself, be true. I guess i'll try to swallow and just like, before we're going to finish it off with a normal braid. Now, after tying the ends wrap it around the base of the ponytail to form a bun and then tuck the ends inside the bun itself before securing it, oh again, we're gon na repeat on the other side. Now all you need to do is remove the bobby pins used in the beginning, and if you have any elastic bands showing just move it up under the bun itself, to hide it fix anything. You need to fix with a few bobby pins and we're basically done have you liked this easy, not well, not easy, intricate fun and if you did don't forget to give this a thumbs up, if you want to see more easy, hairstyles, not difficult ones like this.
