***Open for Products Mentioned*** Gasp, guys! I finally did it! I air dried my hair. You are welcome to check out this video (https://youtu.be/3J_2Bs-xmsw) to see what my results looked like with the same exact products, but with diffusing my hair instead of air drying.

How I up my YouTube game!

https://www.tubebuddy.com/swavycurlyco...

I wonder what kind of results I'll get if I air dry, my hair, hey guys, I'm back with another video, and today i am showing y'all what my results look like when i air dry, my hair air drying sounds like an absolutely fantastic option, because you just Wash your hair, you throw in your stylers and then you're done, there's no big long, diffusing process! You just wander around your life, letting your hair air dry and there can be a lot of benefits to air drying. Some people actually find that they get more definition and less frizz when they air dry, which is fantastic, and if your hair is particularly damaged by heat - and you are really struggling with heat damage. Avoiding heat altogether by air drying can be a fantastic option for you. So why don't we go ahead and jump right in to me washing my hair, so y'all can see how I go about the process of air drying hello again here we are over my tub. Why? Yes, I do wash my hair upside down every single time. I wash my hair. I actually find that it helps give me some semblance of volume, especially on days that I air dry, but seriously. This is just the easiest way to film. I am able to show you everything. I need to show you without a very difficult, complicated setup, alright, going in with the bounce curl clarifying shampoo. I chose this lineup of products because I got really fantastic results with this line. I love this line. It works really well. For me, I was looking back at all of my one brand wash days and you guys really seem to like these results. The best I will say that this line of products really makes my hair shiny. They also smell absolutely fantastic, which is awesome, so I'm just really taking my time here and giving my scalp a very good scrub with that shampoo so that I am squeaky clean for this air drying, video yeah Wow. I am such a goof. Sorry about that. Now I am just very thoroughly rinsing this out. I decided not to cut out quite so much of the washing process for this video so that you can really get an idea of the amount of time I spend rinsing. My hair scrubbing my scalp. That sort of thing now, I'm going in with the cream conditioner from you guessed it bounce curl, and I find this conditioner to feel a little bit, sticky, almost slimy, which is kind of cool. It'S a very different texture from any of the other conditioners that I own, and I'm just starting to work that into my hair. I glazed it over and I had a gigantic knot in my hair this day I had put my hair up to go for a run and it had kind of slipped out, and so the ends were very tangled together, and so I very gently spent some time Finger detangling and brushing through with this fantastic brush from the perfect haircare seriously. I am hardcore addicted to this brush. It is just so helpful, never pulls on my hair, never tears it. It'S fantastic! I really find that when my hair is particularly tangled that brushing it when there's conditioner in my hair is the most gentle way possible to remove all those tangles uh Drive finger, detangling kind of hurts more. This is the least painful way to detangle for me. Alright, so now I've got the water in my hair, put some more water in my hair after I'm finished the finger detangling and I am just doing a really good squish to condition. I am really making sure to put in some work here to ensure that this air drying process goes well. I am thoroughly hydrating my hair by taking these few extra minutes to just squish and pulse in this conditioner. Now, it's not that I'm actually squeezing the water into my hair shaft. What I'm actually doing is I like to think of this as swishing mouthwash around in your mouth. I have water in my hair and I have conditioner in my hair and I'm swishing the water and conditioner into my hair to make sure that every single hair strand gets some of that mixture and it gives your hair time to absorb the water in conditioner. Therefore, hydrating your hair, all right now, I rinse that out with really cold water, and I chose to skip a leave-in on this day, thinking that it would help my hair air dry more quickly and my hair was feeling particularly hydrated. So I decided to skip the leave-in, and now I'm just smoothing those front clumps like I do in order to get my part going smooth and everything down in the front. I raked everything off the back of my head, so nothing is stuck and now I'm just going to start situating those curl clumps by doing some more squishing and pulsing, I'm taking just a little bit of water out of my hair. By doing this, and I kind of stood up and shook the hair off the back of my head really good and you could see that that kind of broke up my curl clumps. I think, if I did this again, I might go ahead and use a leave-in. So that my curl clumps kind of stayed together better when I stand up and shake them off the back of my head. Alright, now I'm going in with my tea spoon measurer, I was so proud of myself for remembering and I'm taking 1tsp of product and I'm going to apply that to my hair. It'S the bounce curl light cream gel. I really like this gel because it has a lot of protein, but it really is a light to medium hold and the the fragrance I'm like stuttering, I'm so excited about how good the fragrance is in this gel. It'S an absolutely delightful smell, so I squished and pulsed that into my hair a little bit and now I decided to take one more teaspoon. I usually take about four teaspoons of this stuff. I think, but this is the first time I'm like actually measuring this particular product with the teaspoon measure, so I'm taking one more teaspoon and I'm a really focusing applying that on the back of my here and as you can see, I'm really reaching all the way Around in the back making sure that I've got some product applied back there and I like to kind of swing my head around, I really feel like it helps the curl clumps start coming together. The way they need to come together. It also keeps them from getting stuck. All right are y'all getting bored, yet I told y'all I wasn't gon na cut. Most of this out. Y'All are Saints for watching all that. Okay, now I am just going to take the towel off of my head. I'Ve been popping for about 20 minutes here and I'm going to just gently squeeze out some of the excess water really hunting for a spot on the towel. Here that is dry and yeah, just going to kind of arrange and scrunch my hair one more time to give it the best possible opportunity in order to dry, well shake everything off the back of my head and stand up straight and yeah. This is how I'm gon na finish: hair drying, my hair, all right. Let'S see how this goes all right. It has been a total of four hours and I'm actually kind of shocked that my hair is dry because it's very rainy today, but here's what I think. It'S raining, it is in the 30s, which is very cold for where I live, and I have the heater cranked on. So I think all of those factors come in together, low low dewpoints heater cranked on is what helps my hair go ahead and air dry fairly quickly. There is no cast, but I'm going to scrunch it out and fluff my roots so that we can get the full effect of what my hair looks like thoroughly. Air dried all right here we go. This just helps everything kind of loosen up and start to look a little bit better, yeah, alright, and now I'm going to flip my part, the other direction and kind of fluff everything away from my face. I'M gon na get up real, close and personal. Oh focus! Come now there we go alright, and here we go. This is my hair air-dried. Is it the worst hair day I've ever had? No, I'm actually pretty shocked. This looks literally the best. It'S ever looked when I've air dried it, but I don't have as much curl enhancement or volume as I would normally. I feel like my hair is a little bit stringy er than it normally is I'll, go ahead and turn around and show you the back, and that is it for this watch date. Thank you guys so so much for watching air drying is an absolutely fantastic option, but something I just choose not to do, because it took at four hours out of my day with wet hair. If I can diffuse my hair for thirty minutes and be 90 % dry, I'm much happier with that than spending four hours with wet hair waiting on my hair to dry. And you know what it behooves you to go ahead and give this a try. Because you never know it may work really really well for you and your hair. It just personally doesn't work fantastic for me, because I have incredibly fine hair that is very easily weighed down, and it just honestly doesn't have the muscles to retain its shape with the weight of the water, and that was even using a really good protein heavy styler. So anyway, that is it for this video. Thank you guys so so much for watching. I hope you are having an absolutely fantastic day and I will talk to y'all later bye.

KatReads: I always air dry because I’m too lazy to blow dry, but now I want to get a diffuser and try it out after binge watching your videos!

lieke schot: i'm so jealous of your hair colour and how shiny it gets. just wow!

Ashley Rodriguez: Your videos have been my holy grail during my curly/wavy girl transformation..keep it up! ♥️

Aroma Rose: I actually really like both your diffused and air-dried hair! It looks great with both the smaller and the bigger clumps. But definitely, time is a BIG factor when deciding if you want to air-dry.

Sarah: Your channel has helped me so much - our hair is so similar and this is helping me figure out what to do/what not to do with my hair as I'm just starting the CG method. I haven't bought a diffuser yet and have been air drying, which definitely seems to make my hair stringier and stretched out. Also I had no idea you were supposed to put in that much gel! This explains a lot hahah

Christy Price: Before using any type of gel/custard/gelee, my hair would take 4-5 hrs to air dry. Now it takes over 12 hrs. Sometimes, it's still slightly damp in some areas, esp underneath. I just ordered the Xtava blow dryer with the matching black orchid diffuser. Never diffused before, so hope I have good results.

Eowyn's Pride: Sooo helpful!!! Thank you so much! I hadn't realized it, but my hair is wavy...I thought for YEARS that it was straight but just weird! I'm trying "curly girl method" and what a difference! It's a new process for me...still in search of an affordable clarifying shampoo and high moisturizing conditioner...I'll get there eventually...

Mona S.: My hair is very similar to yours - I have the same issue with air drying so I don’t even bother anymore. All this time, I thought I was doing something wrong, so thanks for showing that it’s not just me!

AJ HULSEY: I LOVE that you show your faith on your shirts in your videos! Thank you for all you do. I am about 4 months in and am seeing improvements in my wavy/curly hair. I am not sure if I am to the best its going to get yet or not. I still struggle with the squish to condish in knowing how long to do it and when to stop and let it be. It is confusing.

chiara d: I can say I air dry most of the times, except a little bit diffusing right now cause it’s so cold (and I wash early in the morning before leaving to work). And I think this is a better option to make our hair healthier, than diffusing, since I don’t have all the diffusing time which is normally needed. But although my high po hair dries completely in an hour, this time is longer the more product (most of all gel) I apply, so now I prefer using only conditioner as a leave in, or a true leave in, then I let air dry: best and faster result (and don’t mind a minimal frizz)

Natalie Mosko: Your hair looks beautiful air dried! I always air dry every wash day, even though I'm very low porosity. I am so used to wet hair it doesn't bother me. I just go into work and forget about my hair until it's time to SOTC. Really, I'm just too lazy to diffuse and I feel like I lose some definition, too. Thanks for the great content!

geetika: i've always been airdrying my hair and it always ends up in me having frizzy, uneven hair :\. I really wanna try out diffusing because it takes 5 hours for my hair to completely dry and it will speed up the process but also so that i can get a more even curl pattern

Cloey: this worked so much better than diffusing my hair!! i haven’t been able to get ahold of my 2b/2c hair BUT FINALLY yay ayala ya THANK YOU!!! ♥️♥️♥️

Simone: my hair is low porosity and pretty thin so I find that everytime i air dry it i dont get as much definition or volume because my hair takes a long time to dry and because it's thin it also get weighed down by all the water weight. Just my personal experience for anyone who has the same problem. I often blowdry with a cool setting to avoid heat damage :)

Alejandra Valladares: I love your videos! Thank you so much for always sharing great tips and ideas! All the best!

Kate Howell: Loving your videos - they are helping me so much! And love the sweatshirt

Tracey Lawrance: Your hair looks great, just more wavy than usual. My hair is short, fine and there isn't much of it, so it takes 25 min max to dry. In summer, 15 but it seems to dry frizzy. I've just started. Hair is still in a very damaged state.

Jennifer: I was just thinking your hair looked so long! Personally I love the beach, long, undone curls- that’s what I aspire to with my CGM

marisadaniela6: A little less curly, but GOSH it looks lovely! I always air dry (I threw out my hair dryer when i started CG, thinking it was against the 'no heat' "rule") and this is so similar to how a good wash day turns out for me. Makes me want to try diffusing, but I'm so scaaaaaared I'm gonna make it frizzy

Dolores DeMar: I love your shirt ❤️ Your hair turned out great!! I also have fine hair with 2c waves!! I am anxious to find out how my hair will look diffused,, since I always air dry!! Now that Winter is almost here I need to buy a diffuser bc I don't like my hair to be wet and cold for so long!! Ty ❤️ for the video ❤️

Josefina H: I’m still so amazed that you have 3 different types of curl patterns in your hair meanwhile my hair is in the 1-2 range so I don’t think I’ll have any luck with the cg method but it’s very entertaining to watch!

Heather Ratliff: I air dry every day because I don’t have time to diffuse. Thanks for showing what your hair does, as I think it’s similar to mine.

thatgirlstephh: Would love to see your only drugstore products wash day routine!! :)

StuckInTheLazyCorner Again: I am SO curious about a Flora & Curl wash day since it feels like no one knows about them, i hope you do it someday! This is totally dope too though! Your hair looks really lovely both ways, just slightly different. This is really random but you remind me of a sunflower for some reason lol

Julie Bruce: Thanks for this. I hear all the time to “diffuse for definition” but I don’t think I’ve heard anyone say air drying “stretches out my curls.” I have been air drying for about 30 years and have only diffused since I started CG about 3 years ago. I don’t do it very often but that might be why I struggle with stretched out curls.

Wendy Muller: So glad mine air dries well! I've got fairly fine hair but it dries quickly - it's less frizzy air dried. I tend to have better hair on day 2 and 3, oddly.

Angela G: Your hair still looks good but I agree with you. I air dry part of the way but I don't get good definition unless I diffuse at the end. As always, love your videos and God Bless.

Chelsea Pickslay: Also, your eye makeup looks amazing!

Almost Autumn: This video was helpful to see the difference from when you diffuse. My go to is air day for time sake but I think I need to try diffusing! I would also love to see a video on coconut free products if you have any favorites. I believe my hair is sensitive to coconut, it felt like a protein overload almost!

aubrey morgan: LOVE that shirt Courtney! Pretty impressive results too! Here in the dryness of Colorado, hair tends to dry faster. I think I'll give it a try. Thanks!

Mikoken Qvist_GL: Never been this early Started CG 2-3 months ago and your videos helped sooooo much! Trying not to give up with my transition hair

heather burtness: I always air dry my hair, and find that I get more volume when I apply my products to damp hair!

Kati Benzer: I am planning on buying Bounce Curl products for the first time soon. I find it interesting that you said the gel was protein heavy. I commented on an Instagram post from Bounce Curl about how I was worried about the gel having too much protein and the company commented back that the gel does have protein, but it isn't heavy. I haven't figured out how my hair reacts to protein yet, so I was concerned.

Teeko Train: i wash mine like that too! I just don't like wet hair on my back when I shower but yeah the added volume is nice

Dru Delmonico: It looks really great, thanks for sharing! Will try...

Maddy Flores: I air dry because personally, I don't have the money to spend on a diffuser. Though one day, I will get one. But for now, it works on my hair just fine

Maria Ines Marques: Hi! How long does it last? How does it look the following days?

tiegangreenwood: And tips for people with tiny curl clumps? I don’t know if i can be doing something to avoid it or whether it is just the way my hair is. Should i be caring for my hair differently than people with naturally larger clumps? Great video!

Kalilili: Do you have recommendations for sleeping with wet hair? I like to wash my hair at night so I have plenty of time to mess with it rather than rushing before work.

Mrs. Khan: I just love your hair it's so beautiful The color, texture n shine everything. I came to your channel bcoz we have same hair type when I saw ur before cgm images its exactly how my hairs are looking now. I inspire to have hair like yours

Tessa Olson: Courtney, can you do a video on how you part you hair after you wash it, before styling?! That is my downfall!

Harmony Pétillon: Hi Courtney, have you compared this brush with the Wet Brush?

luckyDancer100: My hair takes about 4 hours to air dry

Susan Watson / emzadia: Why is watching you wash and condition and scrunch and...So therapeutic??

Kaylee Ives: Your hair looks a lot like mine when I don't use product.

chris chambers: Courtney, have you used any TreLuxe products? Can you tell me which ones and did you like them?

Peach Tea: I think more gel would help when you air dry to get that cast. ❤

AddaGirl: also should we always leave the reg conditioner in the hair (not Rinse)?

Chelsea Pickslay: Thought you’d like to know that whenever I flip my hair over, I do your “wah” sound

Gabriëlle: Same here ;) with diffusing I have more curl and volume, which I personnaly like more.... it's just that water is weight, and weighs the hair down so fine haired (and higher porosity) people can benefit by diffusing to get rid of this extra weight so it won't stretch the curls out.

Livin' Free: I need to figure out how to air dry my hair it's nearly to my waist, so I can't just let it sit and air dry because it touches and rubs on literally everything and I'd love to find a way where I can air dry it without leaving it down. I also can't plop because it makes my hair so frizzy, even with a t-shirt, because my hair is so damaged and I find the plop takes too much moisture out of my hair. Would love to have any suggestions that won't take my hair 8 hours to dry

Kristy Trent: i could care less if my hair is wet when i get to work Love airdrying!

Linden Peters: Was this inspired by your post from the other day, when we were all wondering why you would rather let your hair air dry without product than with product? ;) But I do see how that might work better for your fine hair type. Maybe you get more volume if you air dry with no product...?

Manaky: Did you ever tried the beer rinse? I tried it once and my hair was soft and shiny as never before.

CICI: If I don’t diffuse my hair, my hair looks straight wavy. I don’t add any products after I shower either cause I hate the feeling of product in my hair. I tried the plop method but then the water absorbed in my hair transfers to my scalp and it makes it sticky from the conditioner I use. IDK WHAT TO DO

Char Latte: I want to try this teaspoon thing. Or measured amounts at least. My hair is probably 6 inches longer than yours though, so maybe more like a tbsp?

Stephanie B: I have to air dry. My hair gets way too frizzy diffusing, even on the lowest air flow with no heat. I don't think putting my hair in a pineapple at night works for me either. I just started the CGM on my 2B hair three weeks ago. The first week my hair looked great! Now, I got some funky Julia Roberts from Pretty Woman thing going on! Not. Good.

AddaGirl: do u never do this in the shower when u actually shower.... or do u fine it easier to do seperate?

Teresa S.: I always air dry. I think it was the towel you used. Since I bought mine my hair dries faster.

J R: Do you always use a hair oil to dry scrunch or only if theres a gel cast/crunch?

Ann4U2000: can I ask why when you are squishing ..either for squishing to condish or squishing in your gel styler that you don't close you fingers completely? It seems to me that would induce more waves ? Is my thinking on this wrong? Something I don't know?

Lisa Berlow: Have you ever tried zero waste products like bar shampoos and conditioner?

Sandra Lucero Galdos Retamozo: 4 hours? My hair dries up veeeery fast. It takes an hour at most. Some times half an hour when its veeery hot.

Terri Landry: Do you buy your Bounce Curl products from Sally’s?

Kristi Foley: Do you clarify every time you wash?

Julie Schultz: I'd love to try your method, but with my back problem, I can't bend over long enough to do that. And I'm too short to do it in the kitchen sink.

Brianna Prieto: I love your shirt! Where did you get it? God bless

Hristina Talevska: My hair is only curly on the ends and in the inside. Can you help me??

Sa water: Please show how to get the O.C. hairstyle (Marissa Cooper, season 3; Misha Barton) without heat?! Thanks ;-)

Ann4U2000: Yeah, with out the diffuser my hair is crap.

🦋shinobu kocho•シノブコチョ🦋: i actually laughed when she said “wow, i’m such a goof”

Annalise Keating: When I diffuse my hair, pretty quickly there starts to be flyaways/frizziness and I'm not sure why? Wonding if there's a fix for this!

Kristy Trent: i only air dry and i need to get more volume…I despise diffusers! I’m way too impatient…Don’t have the time in the morning!

ItsThatTime: Eh it’s worth a try, I don’t have any proper conditioners for curly hair BUT that won’t stop me from altleast trying this

Karissa Thatcher: Beautiful shirt! Could you please share where you got it?

Melissa Sell: Have you thought about making merch?! I would totally wear swavy merch. And I see people comment on your T-shirt’s all the time so we know you’ve got some skilz

Summer of 1975: What kind of towel is that? Looks silky, but also other videos say not to put your hair in a towel

63 Rambler: Future project: refreshing day two or three with steam. ?? Maybe ??

Cora ter Horst Mazier: Don't say sorry I love your goof. And your long video's. And your sound effect ahha.

Honey Grace: You're so pretty!

Vika Lev: You're so nice!

April Pacholski: Beautimas!

Natalie Yu: Did anyone see that dog at 7:28 ?!!!!!! <3

another prop: You didn't show us how to plop!

Madeline Wolters: like your shirt!!

Lorie Muhlbauer: What is a cast?

MsKristen1979: Have you ever tried Monat hair products? I have a friend that sells it and she is really pressuring me to get some. I’m just scared to spend THAT much money on hair care! I just can’t spend that much without knowing if it’s good or not. So, just curious if you’ve tried it.
