A couple weeks ago I diffused my daughter's curly hair for the first time and I thought it turned out pretty good, but ever since then we have been getting comments from you guys asking. If this method could work on straight hair. I have no idea. I'Ve never tried it before, but my other daughter who has straight hair, I thought it'd be cool to try this method out on her and see if it would work. I don't even know if this is even possible, but I thought it'd be fun to try it out. Are you ready Sofia? Yes, okay, Sofia has straight hair, so I'm thinking you are gon na, be the perfect guinea pig to try this out with before we diffused her hair we're gon na wash it. I have love your curls. The company sent me this stuff, but they didn't ask me to say anything: I'm not gon na pay for it, but I do want to try this out because it falls in the line with curly girl method. I'M also gon na be using not your mother's and it's like a foam to keep the frizz, and I don't know if you have frizzy um but to make her hair even curlier. If she does up girls, if we can get girls, and then I mean using the denim brush - and that will help - I think, giving some give her some curls. So basically we're just gon na use the whole curly girl method and try to see if we can get some kind of wave or curl out. We are gon na, be using apple cider, vinegar on Sophia's hair. We'Re gon na do an episode of rinse. Thank You. Tea Lopez for the tip this stuff is amazing. I'M not surprised that it's great for your hair, we're gon na get started with her washed before we start diffusing and getting her hair curly. So let's get started. Sophia'S hair is done. It is washed. It'S a little dry, so we're gon na be adding a little bit more water, but this is the fun part we get it add all the products and I'm gon na be showing you some fun techniques with the Denon brush. I just learned some new stuff, because when I was diffusing my daughter's curly hair, I didn't use the denim brush right. So this time I am going to try it out on Sophia's hair, just a little bit more. What because it did dry, oops, sorry, okay! So I'm gon na divide your hair in different sections and I'll use the brush to brush up with it, and that is gon na make from the roots it's going to have a dry upward instead of flat. We don't want her hair to be flat when it dries don't want to use too much on her hair. I don't use as much as I use because her hair, maybe you been to have all this project, to their hands, dangle or put your head down a little bit, and I'm going to crunch it here that that crunching squashy, this squish, the swoosh yeah, I'm gon Na add the mousse into her hair and that's gon na help really define her curls and make it curly. Oh, doesn't it that I want to clump her curls together, just a little bit more, I'm just gon na do a little finger coil with those. So I'm gon na take some bobby pins and I'm just gon na lift her hair off her scalp just a little bit and that will, as it dries give her some extra volume up here. All right now we're gon na diffuse Sophia's hair. I just have my blow dryer and I have my attachment here and is going to get a wider stream of air yeah, wider stream of air on her hair and try to kink it up all right. Our view before we diffuse your hair, I need to scrunch some of your hair, so it's not like stooping sopping, wet swimming Salman Simmons soft swamp, so you'll a chariot put your head down just do a little bit of scrunching hair. Don'T like it! Okay, I'm gon na take her bobby pins out now that I have it completely dry, I did defuse it a little differently than when I diffused curly hair. Normally I don't touch it, but with her I wanted to scrunch it and dry it as much as possible. Like that, are you ready to flip it yeah hey ready, but you can look. Okay. Are you looking yeah? Can you see here? Look look, see you're kind of older right. No, we shoved. I see your hair created Mike. You should come see if he is hair. Wow, look at that Sophia. It'S like poofy that looks so cool, I'm not used to seeing I've never seen her hair. Like I know I haven't either I like it. Let'S do Micah's hair okay Mike is here, is a little crazy right now, but his hair is so cute head was like a ball full frizz and curls. It was so cute and he had it for four years and then we cut it off. We just chopped his hair off and now it's slowly growing back, but he had lost all his curls in that process. I'M thinking I want to grow it out and see if we can get his curls back all right. So this is Mike. How old are you he is four and his hair is late too one more number to go and he'll be five, but his hair is crazy right now and dude yeah dude, though damn the desert, so I'm gon na do the same process. I did with Sophia's hair Micah's hair and see if we can get this hair to go back to its natural curls. Is he made so much faster? We'Re just gon na fly right through it and it's going all right Mike? Are you ready? Well, I think that's a little much you want to hold some of it. Yeah, okay, just a little bit hold it right. There I'll tell you what I need it. I'M gon na brush his hair up brush your let's get it away from his head cuz. We want my gon na get as many curls as we can get from this. Can we blow dry your hair for a little bit all right? You ready yeah hold your breath. Okay, when I turn it on hold your breath, you do it as long as I blow-dry. Okay, let's see your turn on ready one. Two! Three! Oh, Oh, get ready! Sorry, you ready one, two, three tippy dial! Okay, how do I do the rest is away without you holding your breath? Okay, we're gon na. Do it one more time, okay, all right! Micah! Can you see your hair yeah? You see it yeah. What do you think? What do you think? What what no no problem so to answer the question, if you can use the curly girl method with straight hair um you can, it will give you a little bit of a wave, but I don't think it will give you curls. I think you can give it a try and see if you can work on your hair cuz. I know all of her hair. We all have different hair types, but that was fun that was really exciting. Sophie obviously loves her hair and Micah's hair looks good. I think it was a fun experiment. All right Micah do you want say it called AI playa.

Kaylee M: Looks amazing! I think all girls should try the cgm even if they ‘think’ it’s straight. Also acv isn’t recommended by dermatologists. It opens up the cuticle which messes up pH makes it frizzy and susceptible to damage.

leeluv96: Two tips from a natural. 1) Brush from the tip to the root. Brushing should never hurt. 2) Invest in curl formers.
Tahty: Just a tip, the denman brush is not for detangling the hair.It is more of a styler to add definition to the curls.If you are going to do this method again I suggest that you detangle her hair with a regular detangling brush then put the products and then use the denman brush to define the curls.☺️

seriouslymusically: I believe if you did different experiments to train your daughters hair over 30-60 days you would see a BIG difference. I just hope she knows she’s just as special without completely curly hair. Waves are super fun for styling...I like to use chopsticks in mine for waves and I keep them in by putting the hair up and down each day so there’s no worry of extra heat or products because my hair naturally over produces moisture so I use as little as I can. Good luck and your son had nice hair too
Alejandra Rico: When I was about nine years old I was deeply frustrated by the fact that my hair was not like my mothers. She had gorgeous, shiny, thick hair, with the most beautiful dark curls. I had very thin (a ton of it, but thin) hair. So straight no elastic or bobby pin could stay in place for even five minutes. Dirty blonde (until I got under the sun, them BAM, withish blonde all around). That all looked boring to me, I wanted dark hair full of perfect ringlets. So I obviously insisted a lot until my mom finally accepted to style my hair as she usually styled hers, for the sake of her mental health, I guess. Pretty much the curly girl method, that was it. What we found out was that if there was any wave hidden in my hair, DNA or anywhere else, it was not willing to get out. I ended out looking like my hair was jus messy and... dirty. I was so upset about the texture (kinda hard at the beggining and then just somehow sticky) that I had to wash my hair again and just let it be. So... Healthy straight hair doesn't curl with that method, in my opinion. You might get volume (for a shor time) and texture, that you may or may not like, but no actual curls. Interestingly, though, damage caused by bleaching does relax curly hair but make straight wavy... So we all meet in the middle, somehow

Her hair mostly looks like it is type 1, with a couple of 2a pieces. My hair does a similar thing, except it is mainly 2c with a couple of 3a pieces instead.

dani cora: i used to have super curly hair when i was younger and over the years it has slowly become straight and i can’t figure out why, but my mom, dad, and sister all have curly/wavy hair and lately i’ve been really wanting to get my waves back. my hair does wave when i go in salt water, but if i just scrunch it after my shower, once it dries it looses the waves i created. someone let me know if i should invest in a diffuser because i really want some waves back :)!!!

Vicki: I’ve seen so many girls with practically straight hair following a ridiculously long curly routine in the hopes of making it curly because they saw a cowlick or slight wave, this is perfectly common and not equal to having consistent waves throughout naturally, stop wasting your time and weighing down your hair if it’s not presently curling

I don't necessarily want to give unsolicited advice but I also want to spread awareness about speech disorders and let you know Micah's speech has some red flags. At this age his speech should be mostly understandable to unfamiliar listeners. If you haven't gotten Micah evaluated by a speech language pathologist I would suggest that you do. The earlier you intervene the better the outcome. I hope this is helpful.

Lindsey: I bet others have said this, but your daughter's hair is wavy--you can see it a little even before the process! No, her hair won't become as curly as yours unless her hair starts to change. But the curly girl method won't work on actually straight hair (say, 1A). It will work for wavy hair, but the best techniques for wavy hair look different than for curly hair.

Jade vT: I would not recommend brushing straight hair when wet. It's so painful! Fine straight hair brushes out better when dry and you have less damage. The hair sticks to itself and is more fragile when wet so just brush it dry
