Unicorn Haircut On Curly Hair | Chopping 8 Inches!

[, MUSIC ] hello, loves today, I'm gon na cut my own curly hair and, to be honest, I was gon na go to a curly, hair professional, but then quarantine happened so yeah before you get into it, go ahead and subscribe and hit that notification bell. So you don't miss any more curly hair videos for me, let's go ahead and get into it. So the first step is the unicorn cut. Essentially, you just wan na use this as a base before you do your dry cut, so my hair is wet and I'm putting it at the top of my head, not all the way to the front, because I want my layers to be a little bit more Subtle, I did do the ponytail close to the front. The first time I cut my hair. The layers were really nice, but they were just really dramatic. So I want something: that's just a little bit more low-key, a little bit more subtle. The ponytail is kind of placed like in the center of my head so that the layers in the front are not, as short so originally I was planning on doing a second hair elastic tying it around and sliding it down and then cutting my hair. Then your girl got cold feet, so I just tied it again at the bottom to see how much I wanted to cut, and now you can see how scared I am look at my face. Oh, my god, I just cut the bottom off and make sure that you stretch out your hair to see how much you are actually cutting off. I didn't show you guys that I measured it, but I measured it to see how long it was and I cut about four inches off. So that's how much it was when it was stretched for the second part of the haircut we're gon na cut it dry, because you want to get any awkward pieces that we might have missed while it was wet. Of course, curly hair is amazing, but it has different curls all over the head, so we have to be mindful of that. That'S why I like to incorporate a dry cut so that I can kind of even everything out just a little bit. I really like the overall shape a nice gentle v-shape and not so dramatic, which is exactly what I was going for. You actually have to wait all the way to the very end, to see how much I actually cut, because one day I just stepped out the shower, and I got scissors and I was like hey. I think I want it a little bit shorter, so yeah you'll see at the end. This is how my hair came out after the first two haircuts, and then I went in with a third, like I said earlier, a couple days later, just kind of divided, my hair in half and then just cut it straight across. I cut a whole eight inches off because I just wanted to start fresh we're pretty happy with the length now and I feel, like my hair - is a little bit more full. It just looks a little bit more bouncy and vibrant.
