Get everyone and welcome back to my channel. Today'S video is all about what to tell your hairdresser when you go in for a haircut, but you still want to keep growing your hair out long. So what used to happen to me a lot when I was younger and I grow. My hair out is I'd, get to that awkward phase and I'd go to the hairdresser and be like hey mr. hairdresser or mrs. hairdresser. I want to grow my hair out long, but you know it's at the awkward phase and the hairs are all weird. Please trim it a little bit and you tell the trim it and what happens everytime is they cut so much off the ends? Up being a short haircut again and you're back to square one, so what do I recommend? Firstly, grow your hair out as long as possible. Don'T get any haircut at all, even if it gets to that awkward phase. Just just stick it out for a month or two more, but when it does get to that phase, where the hairs are all inconsistent and it's time to get to the hairdresser I'll, tell you what to say so. What happened with me was. I grew my hair out for about a year and the hairs at the side were a lot shorter than the hairs at the front, and the hairs at the back were way too long. So there was inconsistency all over my head, so I went to the hairdresser and my number one tip: is you got to communicate with your hairdresser? Lay it out, lay out all your concerns. Don'T leave anything out because that one thing that you leave out might stuff up your hair. So I went to my hairdresser and I said: hey look make it. I made it clear that I'm still wanting to grow my hair along. I like I want to grow. It long I want to have a pony tail. I wan na have a man bond all that sort of stuff make it clear. That'S what you want, then I explained to him that where the hairs were inconsistent, so yeah, it's too short at the sides. So when I try put in ponytail the side, hairs can't really catch up with the ponytail and yada yada, and the heads of the back were too long and it's looking like a mullet. So can you cut it consistently number three? What I said to him as well is at the back. A lot of hairdressers will want to shave the back and clean the neck up, but I said to him: can you make sure you leave you just trim it and leave those hairs, because it's a more natural at the back. It looks more natural to back. If you leave it like that, so that being said, here's some footage of me getting my most recent haircut and I'll. Tell you what he did. He basically just gave it a really nice trim. He cut the hair consistently. He took hairs from the top and the side and make sure made sure that all the similar length and at the back you trimmed it just a little bit. Another thing I've told him, I said: don't cut the back too short, because if you cut the back too short, it's gon na look like a bob and it's gon na look very feminine and I want it looking masculine and I think the way to make long Hair look masculine is to make sure you do have that length and volume at the back. Even it can look a bit weird, but I think it's important so I explained that to him so yeah at the back. As you can see here he's just trimmed it a little bit and pretty much all over. He just kind of trimmed it a little bit and he didn't take too much off and then he was done and I left the haircut feeling you know. Maybe you could have taken a little bit more off, but then I was like nah, it's good that what he did take off, always better to go a bit longer than shorter and if they say to you is that enough enough length Joey take more. Do I say no like go home, wash your hair look in the mirror, reevaluate and see if that's the length that you like anyway, that's all I can really think of for now. If I have any more tips, I'll post them in the comments below but yeah that video, hopefully, if you are growing your hair out long, there's a few tips for you there, but that'll be the video for today. If you liked it be sure to subscribe to the channel like the video and that'll be it for today, I will see you guys next time.

J E: I’m already 6 months in right now and I’m definitely in that mullet phase I really feel the need to get everything cut in a consistent length, but at the same time I feel like waiting a little longer will be the better decision to make.. just gotta tough it out lol as I’ve been wearing a beanie most of the time

go.ahead.skin.it: Dude. You nailed it. When I tried growing my hair I told the hairdresser a small trim so it's even bcus I'm trying to grow it out and spot on to what you said. My hair was cut SHORT back to square one LOL never again. So...people just avoid the cut as long as possible and like he said be descriptively clear that you want your hair long etc

CzarJustinian: I started growing my hair out back in 2018. I had a similar problem with my sides being much shorter than the top of my hair. For a while, my hairstylist was able to add a lot of braid-ins or twist-ins on the sides to help keep the look more organized. I did this until my hair grew to the appropriate length. Now, most of the looks I go for I can do on my own without the extensions. Hopefully, this idea helps someone else out.

Aneek Dey: You just uploaded the right video just at the right moment for me!!!I am growing my hair long for quite some time now and I was just worried whether to or not to visit the hairdresser....because they sometimes don't understand you know......but your video took my tension away....GREAT VIDEO!!!!!!!!You are the most informative and helpful YouTube channel in this segment......You will surely get HUGE number of subscribers!!!

Eplo: I wish I didnt cut my hair during quarantine it would've been long and since I wasnt at school the akward stage wouldn't have been that bad. Now I have to grow it during school

Samin Aziz: 1) Make it clear that you're growing it long 2)Explain where the hairs are inconsistent

DAVID ELIAS TORRES ANZOATEGUI: Bro, I always take care of my hair properly, using good products so I've never cut it because it's fine, don't trim it if you're takig care of it properly, the process then will be quite slow and frustration will come to say: Hello!

Disturbed2241: I havnt had my haircut for 7 months and I feel really scruffy but you helped a lot

Don: Happened to me twice. I asked for a trim and they smiled and said okay and was too short.

Roy Babul Rizki: Got an undercut after I tell to trim my 6 months of hair growth. I know I'm kinda late, but 0:35 really represents the reason why I came here.

Roronoa Zoro: Thanks for the advice really helpful

star lord: So I am afraid to get the slight trim though I think I need it. But, what happened last time, She did not listen to me. I said I was trying to grow it out and cut a little and she just did what she wanted. I will never go back there. So now I am looking for a new hair cutter. I am reading the reviews at different places, and there are so many that say the same thing. You say all the right things and they cut way too much off. I have curly hair and in the awkward stage and have trust issues with my hair now.

aviacar74: Me: please just a nano trim, i want to keep the length. Barber: say no more Me: dude you bald me
