#paintforwoodtrim #bestpaintcolors #paintcolorsforhoneyoak

Hello, everyone welcome back to my channel, i'm julie and you are joining me for the brand new video how to choose the perfect paint color to match wood finishes. This is a highly requested video, so we'll be discussing a variety of different wood tones from light and raw woods to trendy gray, woods to medium tones, yellow tones red tones to rich and dark stains to find your perfect paint match if you've been looking for the Best wall color paint to match your wood finishes. This video is for you from flooring to cabinets, to wood trim on your casings, your windows, your doors ceiling, beams, stair, handrails and furniture. You can find wood finishes virtually anywhere in your home. Think about the shade or tone you're trying to match: don't worry about what it's called. What the name is what the color is, because virtually any type of wood could be stained darker, simply look for a close match of the wood color that you have existing in your home compared to the inspiration images to find your perfect wall. Color that's suited just for you before we get into all the beautiful interiors and inspiration. Let'S talk about color theory. Color correction is all about using opposite colors on the color wheel, to eliminate unwanted color or to tone down saturated hues that aren't so desirable. Cherry and mahogany finishes. Have a reddish tone. So you'll be looking across the color wheel to green to help tone those reddish colors down. If you're into makeup. It'S the same idea, you would look for a green concealer to hide like a red pimple. Honey oak is notorious for being way too yellow, so you'll be looking at purplish hues. Purple tinted wall paint colors to help tone. Those yellows down gray paint is really great for this you'd be looking for those gray paints with just a hint of lavender to help tone down the honey oak. It'S the same concept for colored hair when my hair gets a little bit too brassy or it has a tinge of yellow. I always use purple shampoo to help tone it down. If your wood tone is more on the orangey side, you would look for paint with a little bit of a blue pigment to help tone down the orange hues. There is no way for me to cover all of the wood stains and tones that exist, but i will be highlighting some of the most popular hues to get you going in the right direction. The type of wood is a species. Stains are the additive colors that you add to the wood to achieve the desired color. For example, you can use a natural maple color and stain it in a dark walnut to achieve a darker richer hue. Let'S talk about the different wood tones and colors, ranging from light to dark light. Colors could be anything that's neutral or raw. It can sometimes even be unfinished raw woods. It ranges from maple and pine to ash and light brown wood tones here are some of the examples of distressed grays and driftwoods. Golden oak and honey oak are very yellowish and tint, and they are very popular in the 90s cherry and mahogany have light. Reddish wood tones to dark, reddish, wood, tones, rich walnut and dark oaks are the medium brown wood tones. Finally, you have espresso ebony and black. It'S very modern and contemporary here are some examples of the different wood finishes and the interior paint colors that coordinate well with them, starting with light and natural wood trim and finishes seen in a variety of different styles from french country to modern mid-century white walls can't Be beat when it comes to light wood and natural, clear stained finishes: soft cool grays help to bring the natural beauty out, so the wood grain becomes a star taupes, tans and beiges feel relaxed and serene. If you're looking to inject some color try shades of gray blues like these for a calming effect in your room, you don't see a whole lot of grey wood trim, but you know that gray flooring like hardwood and laminate had its heyday about five to ten years Ago, when it was all the rage, if your style has evolved past the grays, but you may not have the budget to swap out your flooring here - are some interior paint colors to help bring that beautiful, shade out, i like to keep walls light and bright. Just like the natural or light wood trim, neutral walls work best with grays look for the tones in the gray floors to help your paint selection. If the plank is warm, opt for a warm neutral paint color, if the plank is cool, go with cooler shades. If your floors are dark, think of going lighter on the walls if the floors are light, go darker, you're, looking for some contrast to help bring the inherent shades out by far the most questions and comments i received asking for help with wall paint. Color is what to pair with honey oak trim. Honey oak trim was so popular in the 90s. I mean you have your window casings in honey oak. You have your kitchen cabinets and honey oak. Sometimes, if they got fancy, they laid out all the flooring in honey oak as well. Honey oak is notorious for being way too, yellow and very difficult to coordinate. My best advice is to choose a wall color that helps tone. All of that yellow down white and neutrals work best. Do you don't want to specify warm whites, yellows or orangey neutral hues, you'll simply be bringing out more of the same color you're, trying to tone down so cherry and mahogany wood trim has inherent reddish tones green wall. Color is a popular choice to help tone down those reds, but there is such a thing as bad green, i mean just think: split, pea soup. You don't want like pea soup. All over your walls opt for sage, hunter or even cool blues to help tone down the reddish hues when choosing white paint don't specify anything too warm with yellow undertones. Dark walls look best with lighter floors, so the space doesn't feel too cavernous, so rich walnut and medium wood tones are the easiest to pick out paint colors, rich medium tone. Woods go well with a variety of cool and warm tone. Hues in all colors of the spectrum, cooler colors, feel more modern, warmer colors feel more classic espresso ebony dark brown. Almost black trim goes with every wall color as well. Think high contrast when you have dark, trim, white or off-white achieves that great balance against dark black stain, dark navy and rich blues. Give you a moody, masculine vibe, look to warm beige to give you a cozy cabin vibe. If you have black trim and lighter wood, toned floors, grays help to tone down the other wood tones in the floors and furniture of all the wood tones light and natural or super dark. Have the most flexibility when it comes to coordinating wall paint colors these wood tones really look great, no matter what your wood tone finish looks like just think. Raw wood is found in nature and nature matches everything dark stains are almost black, become an anchor for whatever color you put next to it, almost like black metal or oil, rubbed bronze, it's really modern, fresh and contemporary, but depending on the finish that you put next To it, it could easily become very classic and traditional a designer's tip instead of paint wallpaper, could be a beautiful option to add depth and dimension to any room. Think about creating different layers of color with wall covering plus paint. Remember that you can bring a color code or paint sample chip to virtually any vendor and they will match the color for you now. Why would you need to do this? Not all paints are sold in every state or country. So if you find a color that you love online, you could always bring that color to your specified paint vendor and they will match the color for you. There are a variety of ways to do this. For example, if you loved a benjamin moore paint color, but you wanted to use a less expensive brand like bare from home depot, you can simply bring a color chip, a benjamin moore sample to home depot. All you need is a quarter sized amount and bare will match the benjamin moore color for you. You could also download the individual manufacturers app and use color captures that way. Benjamin moore has a paint matching app and a color reader to help you find the perfect paint color from a variety of different sources. Sherwin-Williams color snap does the same thing. Dunn edwards. Has this insta color feature online, bear from home depot? Has this really cool pins to palette feature online? You can also screenshot your favorite images from this video or pretty much any video, and let the website do the paint color picking for you. I want you to keep in mind that paint color changes from home to home space to space day to night, so definitely save the colors that you love from this video and always grab another couple samples to paint on the walls, one of the most popular requests. I get from clients is to help them choose a paint color before they moved into the home. I'Ll. Tell you right off the bat that this could cause really huge issues, because the minute that your furniture comes in the minute that you change all of your light fixtures, natural daylight and synthetic lighting, plays a huge role in how your paint colors look on the walls. If you're, looking for more inspiration on really great neutrals to use in your space, definitely check out my previous paint video, my favorite neutral paint colors to help you get started. If you have the opportunity for new wood flooring or trim or doors, i always like to start with keeping it natural, staining it clear or specifying a paint grade wood, since it's usually less expensive than stained grade wood, and it gives you more flexibility for colors down The line, if you like this type of content, please give this video a thumbs up, comment below and let me know if you have any questions when it comes to picking the perfect paint colors to match your wood trim definitely share this video with anyone. You know who's having issues, selecting the perfect paint colors to match their wood trim and subscribe to my channel. If you haven't already. Thank you so much for watching i'll, see you in the next one you

Cere girl: Thank you for not using obnoxious music with computerized little voices. Also, I really appreciate your slow, long looks at examples. Thank you for talking at a normal rate, and not on speed dial and like you’re worried the Internet is going to explode at any moment so you have to fit in all the things! It’s a pleasure to watch your videos!

Suzanna Kang: I have watched a lot of YouTube videos on home decorating and this one is by far the most practical and useful. Thank you!

Thought_it_up: This is like $10,000 worth of interior design advice lol thank you so much

Cali_Girl: Your videos are so informative, so professional, and so well made, I just love watching them! Thank you so much for all your knowledge, insight and information!

A.: It's amazing how paint can transform the atmosphere of a space. My childhood home had honey oak everywhere, and growing up my mom favoured buttery yellow wall colours that only accentuated the yellow/orange glow... she repainted last year in soft white and a lavender-y grey and oh my word, looks like an entirely new space. Beautiful!

melodeeforbes: Julie!!! This was GOLD. You are SO generous with your wisdom!!! If you came out with a course, I'd 1000% buy it!!! Thank you for sharing your wisdom. This video was seriously fantastic!

Nadia Dakroub: I spent hours and hours trying to figure out what color to put on my walls. After watching this video I am so happy to see my choices featured here! Phew! It looks great Had I found you before I would have saved myself the anguish

Claudia: This is the video I've been looking for after weeks of searching for different color options to go with my honey maple wood. Thank you so much for how thorough you are with your explanation and examples in rooms, not just wood next to a paint color dot.

Yumyum: The effort you put for the videos!!! Hands down the best content creator

Philis Bramlett: This is the most beautiful coordination of wood tones I"ve ever ever seen . You have certainly researched your coordination of beauty in a magnificent way . There is a gift in this . I have a gift for appreciating Sages & Hunter Green with Red Oak and a new appreciation.for mixing Golden Oak with a small amount of Special Walnut . ( omly if it it can coordinate ) . Thank you for Sharing Beautiful Photographs , Audio Perfect Relaxing voice makes you feel so welcome as you walk right in to each photo array ! I also agree about about 1 other thing ; it it imprtant sometimes to have a white just because whst's on the wall or in the room is the most important thing you want the eye to be drawn to . That something special on the wall ,in the room or someone who just walked in and became center stage in your eyes ❗

Itza Moya: This information is so helpful and amazingly easy to understand. You are an amazing adviser with a glamorous heart. After i helped settle my daughter in her New Jersey Studio apartment, i understand clearly the struggle that many career go- getters adventurous and courageous big city students like my own Nena, go thru. These ideas are so welcoming inviting inspiring creating a place to call home in a tiny space while achieving their goals with hard work and dedication. It is impressive and outstanding.

Teri Thompson: Julie, I learn more in a 20 min video from you than I would watching 10 videos ! I am continually amazed by your wealth of knowledge about design

Elspeth: Brilliant! While I am having fun with bedroom colors, I want my open plan house to look serene and pretty continuous otherwise. This is absolutely, hands down, the most helpful video I have watched, as you are directly addressing the wood tones. Thank you very very very much!

Julia Y: I just got my first house and I've spent the last month trying to decide paint colours! I've finally settled on an off-white that suits the grey floors, but this video was super helpful for the rooms that won't be off-white! The master bedroom is rather plain, so I think I'll add some wainscoting and paint the bottom half in a nice relaxing colour. Keep up the great work! I really appreciate all the effort you put into your videos :)

Barbara Henn-Pander: Thank you for this, Julie. You feel like a classy friend with amazing eyes and teaching ability. Love your examples and that you name names. You’ve likely saved thousands of people from themselves! Excellent work!!

TheSoonyGirl: if you pair opposing colours it doesn’t tone it down, it highlights the difference. so a purple/lilac shade of wall will make a yellow wood look more yellow, if you want to “tone it down” then you would want a warm or yellowish colour wall. toning down colours using the opposite colour works if you’re mixing colours, but has the opposite effect when situated next to each other.

Wera K.: I asbolutely looooove your videos! They are THE MOST informative of all! And I love that your ideas are so universal, even though your personal style seems to be so eccentric. We can learn so much, I feel like we don't deserve it haha xD And I absolutely love your fashion sense. Wonderful <3

Irena Vresk: I can't wait to start painting all the rooms in my house after we move in, this gave me so many great ideas! I feel like this type of advice shouldn't be free, you really go in depth and cover so many different options for everyones situation, thank you!!

Carolyn Clark: So much in this video. I'll be watching it again for sure. Love how you pack in the details and examples instead of dumming it all down. Your content is so well thought out. Thanks, Julie. Love your channel.

Sally: If you don't want to complement yellow, but want to neutralize your yellow wood you should go with a color near to it on the color wheel, less than 1/3rd around the color wheel in either direction. To make your yellow wood seem less yellow, choose a paint with a sagey- or gray-ish green to the blue (cool) side, or a peach, orange or rust color to the red (warm) side.  Violet is a complementary pigment to yellow. Opposites on the color wheel. When added to paint, it will "knock the color down," or make the color darker without reducing its intensity. If your yellow paint seems too bright, add Violet to the mix.

Hadiza Abdul: Hello Julie...You NEVER disappoint!!! You seem to know what am thinking and areas I am in dire need of help! This video is the PERFECT guide for what I need RIGHT NOW (am currently in the process of trying to select the best-fit type of wood for the doors in my house and that would complement my interior). You truly are the best!

ollie kite: Thank you for All of your videos. This one in particular is so beneficial for those of us who know color and especially those who do not. Paint colors are so much fun , but your Design Experience and Remarkable Eye help guide us away from costly and timely mistakes. Perhaps you will address Hardware in one of your videos. You have spoken about mixing metals and that is most pleasing. Love your Advice!

Jeka Lambert: I love honey oak and think it pairs beautifully with warm whites, terra cotta, oranges, greens, teals and berry tones. Not a fan of it with cool whites, grays and blues. In any design, it's about how the wood, paint, furnishings and decor items work with each other. Trends keep us perpetually on the hamster wheel. I wish more of us had the backbone to embrace things that were previously a "hot thing" instead of rushing for the current "hot thing".

LilaKaye: SO many great paint colors shown here! I love that you took the time to include the names of so many of them. I'm paint color obsessed!

Tommy: Thank you for a really inspirational video with a lot of useful tips! (I'm using it to choose both wall color and carpet color.) You have a new subscriber in Denmark

Rose Zingleman: THANK YOU JULIE! I’m in the middle of a whole house gut with our downsize retirement house. I started off really wanting what I call “schoolhouse oak floor” with mid-cent slab natural cherry cabs and I’m actually having trouble getting these materials or even MDF. But the tiles are plentiful and gorgeous. Bought a color reader to help in the process and I’m losing my mind. Click on YT and there you are like John Wayne with swatches! Ten thumbs up! You knocked it out of the park with this one!

ifredpr: This is an ingenious piece Julie! Thank you so much. Very useful!!

Kuanyin Lin: It is hard to explain tones and color matches. You do it so well in this video with awesome sample pictures (as always) and best of all paint names!! This the best video ever. Thanks Julie!!!

MK Poptic: Julie. This video was extra helpful and the best illustrated tutorial on pairing wall color with wood tone. I follow several e color consultants and have learned a lot about undertones from them. But seeing the many examples in your video really helps me understand color better. Thank you. Your videos are so well thought out and your content presented in a way I can understand and implement. Note. SW Peppercorn is gorgeous with a deeper (faded 30 year old trim all through my hone) honey oak. Rich and neutral.

Si Nat: Hi Julie. Again a great video from you! With all examples you give I realize you train me to "see" my interior with fresh eyes. I never tought of acward places before watching your series...now I see them all..and I'm not afraid to conqer them I even see them in my garden! With my honey oak floor I see now some adjustments I need to do with paint colour. Many thanks Julie!

Maria Mkrtchyan: This video was SO HELPFUL and you broke down the concepts beautifully. Could you do a video on how to mix different woods together? Like hardwood floors, different wood furniture pieces and such :)

Linda S.: To me, the last color I'd want to paint my walls is a complimentary color to the floors, unless I want that floor color to pop. If purple is paired with yellow each will be accentuated. However, I agree about using purple shampoo on yellowing hair because it will mix with the yellowy hue and tone it down. If on the other hand, she left her yellowing hair alone, and wore a purple hat, the hair would appear MORE yellow. I would think the same goes with paint and wood tones. Other than that, a lot of good information and visuals are offered here.

BrittNBee: This was great Julie!! I'm designing a late 1700s to mid 1800s Creole Cottage and I want to keep the character of the original wood doors. Thank you! This helped!

Barb Radcliff: This was so helpful. I've agonized over paint for my whole house since putting in light oak floors.

marcia L: ❤️❤️❤️Really needed help in the red oak flooring! Its a helpful video and thank you so much for the advice in the oaint colors!

treespirit2000: Julie is such a pro, and I find her images and narrative really top-notch.

Chibi Girl: My uncle painted and stained as part of his job and would mix his own blends on site sometimes. I don't know how he did it, but he was able to mix a paint that changed from yellow in the morning to nearly orange at sunset (I think he mixed a pigmented gloss layer in so it was kind of a marble effect with the color popping with the difference in light).

magenta44: Gorgeous room examples. Subscribed. Absolutely love deep teal and navy colors on the walls with wood tones.

Geneve Reid: I can always count on you Julie, the 12th if March will be a year since I’ve closed on my house so it’s a constant customization zone. I’m living in. I’m getting ready to change the flat custom baby yellow paint that comes with the house. Timely video . Thanks Julie

Jan Spell: Your videos are the most beautiful in the world of interior design! Absolutely stunning!

Elizabeth Jose: Thank you so much for this video. I live in the Southwest in a Pueblo style home with yellow wood Vigas(beams) and because of this video I painted the floor black and the walls cloud white and it looks so modern and stylish. Keep making wonderful videos! ❤️

Hollie Marrou: I recently discovered your channel and it's AMAZING You give the best tips and advice ever. I absolutely LOVE your content and it is super helpful. We are going to be building a custom home and your channel will be so inspirational and valuable for this process. I watched 15 so far tonight ❤

Ruby Vijaykumar: Thank you Julie for the indepth, practical and useful information. Truly, a masterclass. Enjoy all your videos.

Nancy Ouverson: Thank you Julie This video clarifies so much for me at this point in time--recently retired. You are phenomenal. My new freedom quest to update our interior home is a bit overwhelming. I painted a wall, that never saw natural light, a watercolor of lilac (centered with honey oak windows) I endured crap for the purple wall for over 30 yrs. The purple wall is staying!! Thank you.

H N McCall: Thanks for mentioning new builds recommendations. It is really hard to find recommendations for going to the design center with your builder, when you have only ever been in the model of your new home and are expected to pick out cabinets, floors and paints from scratch. Any videos you can do on that would be MUCH appreciated!

Josefina Tibrey: Thank you Julie for this video, I hated my kitchen colors and I had no Idea why. Well, Thank to this videoI see, I have honey oak cabinets with a warm beige color and it's bringing out all the yellow!!! I can't wait to go and choose a different paint color.

Nicole Carnevale: Thanks for the advice in this podcast. I’m redesigning my home and going with an expresso and considering staining my floors with a darker stain than they currently have. You just helped me hip up my home!

Audrey: Hi Julie - fabulous tutorial. I was taking notes as fast as I could write. Yes, I finally realized that I could watch/listen again! Well done & much appreciated!

LeeAnn Jett: Julie—I feel like I’m taking a college course on interior design which I’ve always wanted. Thank you so much for your videos!!! How do you feel about mixing wood stains. Our kitchen island and stair rails will be an alder stain (warm brown), and flooring is a mix of blond, brown and dark wood. The dining room table we are attracted to is large and walnut.

Christi Roadfeldt: Julie, you are just amazing. I actually teared up with joy watching this video - finally, inspiring and beautiful options that will work with my trim and flooring - I've been looking for months! So thank you! Quick question: Do you know the color and brand of paint used on the walls in the first picture you show in your Honey Oak section (at 9:10)? I love it!

Kelly S: Bless you. I just bought a house with honey oak cabinets, and floors, and have spent a small fortune on paint samples that have looked off to me. Now I can finally decide on a color, because I loved all the examples you showed.

M K: Noooo I want to paint all of our rooms now. So many beautiful colors ... very inspiring thx Julie!

maggie wilson: I am so appreciative of how much information you packed into this video! Thank you

Sonya Wills: I haven't finished the entire video yet, so maybe you cover this - if we have honey oak ceilings and we're choosing wood floors, are there better and worse wood tones to go with so our walls can work with the ceiling and the floor? I'm so glad I found your channel before we spend so much redoing everything in our new house!

Jennifer: Glad I found this! My house was built in 94 and has honey oak everywhere! I don't think I have the energy to paint my walls AND trim so want a good wall paint that will look good now and whenever I get the courage to change up all the trim.

Cassie Davis: Julie, this video is wonderful and so helpful. Things started clicking for me. I like your teaching style.

madelrigonanquayle: Thank you! This is really helpful! I've got honey oak wood all over our 1970s house and have found it tricky to find a good colour palette to use.

Carrie K: This was very thorough, I've been searching for advice to fix yellow oak cabinets for months - my only solution was to go with the IKEA look: pine wood and white combination.

Varsha Dixit: Beautiful wall paints and colours

Jane Wang: This is the best video about color in interior design I have seen so far! Tons of useful and practical info and advices. Thank you very much!

Suse Kelley: Hi Julie! Love your channel. I'm building my first house. I thought I had my color palette nailed down, but now that the sheetrock is up, I find the interior color I had picked isn't working. Lots of windows, mostly west facing with a view of the Pacific Ocean (I'm in Oregon). Cabinets are natural black walnut, countertops are soft white quartz with subtle charcoal veining, light warm slate grey tile, fixtures are brushed nickel, floors are white oak with a light grey wash to counteract yellowing. Will likely have accent walls painted SW Porpoise or SW Evergreen Fog. I was planning to use SW Agreeable Gray, but looks like it is pulling blue. Can you recommend a soft warm off-white that I could use for walls, trim and ceiling? SW Shoji White? SW Greek Villa? Thanks for your help!

H R: Great detailed inspo! Thanks so much for the explanation behind the choices! I have more confidence to pick the right color!

Laurie Wallace: I just found you and am so thankful I did! We have honey oak cabinets, trim, and doors throughout the house we just moved into. I've been researching paint colors for nearly 2 months and honestly, I am almost ready to give up. Our flooring had to be ordered, so I went with what I hope are neutral enough colors. The whole house except the bedrooms will be Lifeproof Dusk Cherry LVP, and the bedrooms will be Fabulous carpet. I'm wondering if the LVP color will throw off the wall color. Would you consider that a light or medium floor color? Thank you so much for your video, and advice. I'll be subscribing and watching more!

Ingrid Salinas: Amazing!!! Thank you for taking your time to provide knowledge to all of us!!!

primareina: I feel so lucky to have found you as a first-time ever remodeler!!! Thank you!

Jodie Staton: Love this! I can't wait for your video on choosing dramatic colors to go with this!

Robyn Fuller: This was EXACTLY the video I needed to know what color to paint a writing desk near my honey-colored wooden dresser. Thanks!

Linda Fischer: Great video! So much here to help us choose paint colors like a pro for the best balanced effects.

Family Schuman: Wow, fantastic content! Thank you for all of your helpful trio visuals - room, wood color chip & paint color ship.

Anya S: These are great ideas. Thank you for putting in so much work!

khairkhana3: For a guy who just bought a home, this answered so many of my questions. Truly amazing content!

Debit257: This was very well done.. Thank you for sharing all your tips with us!

Mfablife Scout: Excellent video, perfect timing for the stage we are at in choosing floor first then paint. The wood we choose is hickory chestnut, which wood tone from this video of wood samples you showed would this fall into. Looking forward to your next video. You are amazing and make things so easy to understand that make sense.

newworldlove: I love the way you explain the colour wheel with the wood tones. I'm sorry to say, but every time I see wood everywhere I just want to get it painted to blend in with my walls. I have found these amazing floor and wall tiles in a marble effect finish but are actually a ceramic tile. I'm kind of over wood floors and trim! Great channel thank you for all your technical know how

K Flowers: Thanks for this. It helped me narrow down the color to greens with cool undertones for my honey oak flooring.

me me: Mind blown with the grey paint & wood grain combo

Tkeyah Nicole: I have Mahogany trim and floors and omg... it's like every color looks good paired with it. It could be because I'm a neutral earth tone type of girl. I'm not really trying to tone it down. More like make it pop. I did black in my bedroom and I'm in love!

Marisa O: Incredibly helpful. Very insightful. Thank you for sharing in such detail!

DesertRose: Hi Julie! Thank you for another great video! Not sure if this will be addressed in an upcoming video but was wondering how to coordinate wood flooring with the wood furniture or wood cabinets in a room. Should the tone of the wood flooring be the same tone as cabinets or furniture in the room? For example, if you have cherry toned floors in your home office, what wood tone would you choose for a large wood desk in that space?

Nina Melsted: Excellent Julie! A wealth of information. By far, the most comprehensive video I've seen on paint solutions. Thank you for your very generous effort.

Yvonne Gibson: Another great video to help me with my bedroom makeover. I was just looking at paint colors yesterday for my bedroom. This video was right on time. Thanks again

Leah Horvat: Very very cool watching your video tutorial! Im a haidresser over 20years and was thrilled to see you show the color wheel! Watching you makes me feel like your having a conversation with me..my husband and my 2 girls and i have moved from gold coast Queensland Australia back home to New Zealand and renovating a Californian Bungalow...this has confirmed my color choices ive already made and encouraged me to go ahead with other ones on standby to be done. Keep up your great work...be well and may you have continued sucess.

Jody Glaser: Amazingly thorough discussion of this topic. I have beautiful French Oak hardwood floors. I thought I should go with a warm white in my bedroom. After watching this video, I realize how big a mistake that would have been. thank you!!!!

Mary Mann: Great video. Been looking for a paint color for a kitchen with honey oak cabinets that will eventually be replaced but that I need to live with temporarily. Wall paint will be an inexpensive quick fix. Thank you!

m vaj: Hi Julie! I love your vids! Can you do one on how to decorate a staircase wall? Thank you!

gardengirlnc: This video was so helpful. I am currently trying to decide on new flooring and it is such a difficult decision. Thank you!

CowboyBike06: Thank you so much for the content that you provide. It’s very helpful!

Ann McCormick: Although a few days late for me and there were no log cabins pictured, I love your videos. I see changes once I get settled in my new home.

Kat P: Outstanding helpful video. Thanks for the paint color lesson! Love your videos!

Leigh JohnsPrice: Julie, I just watched this video--and I am sooooo glad, I am about to paint my entire condo (ceilings and walls) and was about to make a huge mistake in color choice. Question: the last time I worked with a designer (when I could afford one) she said no more white ceilings--but use a color in the same shade but lighter...I noticed on the video white ceilings. What should I do? I have the honey oak issue so i am now going with a gray shade...

Ev Bickel: Julie, what would you suggest if you REALLY do not like grays, blues, or greens? (It seems that SO MUCH is farmhouse decor and gray right now. Talk about a dated trend already!) Our home is filled with antiques in mahogany and cherry and I LOVE the furniture. I have yellow pine floors and a neutral white trim for the windows, so a white wall seems like it would be too much. HELP!!!

Chris Collins: So glad I stumbled across your You Tube video. Very helpful with choosing a paint color for the walls to tone down my honey oak kitchen.

Renee Land: Always such great quality videos. Thank you!

John E: Perfect timing for our remodel while leaving the golden oak cabinetry throughout the house.

NurseTre Hammy: It is like you know exactly what we need! Question: For an industrial vibe (concrete floor) but existing crown molding, should all trim be the same color as walls? What about finish? OR should the crown be contrasting?

Claude T: Such a great and very useful video Julie. Thank you once again.
