Hi, my name is jean and i'm the creative pixie i'm coming to you from belfast in northern ireland. This is my creative channel, where i share my knits, my crochets hi, and welcome to the creative pixie channel. My name is jane. Today is saturday the 2nd of april, and this is the channel where i show my crafty makes, be it knitting or crochet or sewing. So if you'd, like that kind of thing, you're very welcome. I have a few things to share with you today. I'Ve got several finished objects short car um. I have a couple of works in progress and i have some stash enhancement to share with you so uh, let's get to it um. So you may recall, in my previous episode episode 16, i was working on a crocheted baby, blanket the boho stripes blanket, which i had adapted to make it suitable for a baby. I have now finished that, and i can show you it here there you go so there's the top sorry there's a cat walking around so here's my blanket ta-da top there's the top going down to the bottom. So, oh, that is how big it is there there. You go very happy with that. Um the details about it are on the previous episode, but a quick ride. But a quick recap is that um, it's crocheted out of um emu, classic chunky and um. The screen color is herbie, white is white and the blue is, i think, it's french, blue and um yeah. I really love it. Really lovely uh blanket um suitable, for i don't know pram size bit bigger than pram size. Who knows, i should know i've had two children. I should know um but uh yeah. So i'm really pleased with this um the the baby who uh this will be gifted to hasn't, been born yet third day in june, so i've i'm keeping hold of it. For a couple of more months, but um yeah really pleased with how that has turned out um really effective use of, i think it's linen stitch. It'S called and uh yeah just really really pleased with that. I created a little reel um on instagram. If you fancy seeing it just a little just a little fun thing to share using this blanket um, i don't know about any of you, but oh there's a cat walking she's on the prowl she's sitting down now anyway. I don't know about any of you, but i'm just fed up with this whole instagram thing about how they don't show your post to people, but how you have to um create reels and stuff to get views. Now i have, i have to say that i have noticed through creating the rails, that i am getting um a lot more um non-followers, seeing my real so there's a lot of written. You know names viewing i or liking that you know wouldn't necessarily be following me. So it's good in that aspect, but it's just a bit of a faff. Isn'T it i mean. I know um just one of the reasons why i don't uh do the youtubes very often or as regularly as i would hope, is just a faff. Getting things set up and getting the camera set up and i really have to um. I have to invest in more equipment. Basically, so i don't know if you've noticed, but today the sign should be improved. I'Ve got a a new microphone. I got it for christmas and i'm trying it out today for the first time and i think it it sounds pretty good. So next stop lights. I think because what's this shadow shadow and can i just share with you it's only five to twelve five to midday. Um, so this is this is what it's like in northern ireland in the spring anyway, so that is my boho stripes baby blanket complete. My i have another couple i have another couple of um finished objects to share with you. These were a very quick mix. These were one day mix um, the first of which i'm going to share with you. It is a hat, and this is the sidewinder beanie by aspen, leaf, knits and um. I knit this in a super chunky yarn. I hold it up here and it's super chunky. Yarn um from knitting essentials from pineland. If you're in the uk, you know pineland, so it's a lovely kind of uh kind of tweety super chunky yarn. So when i saw it in the shop, i thought um that it would make a nice hat and it was like three balls for two pounds bargain and actually it only took one ball to knit this hat. So so i've had this in my ravelry library. For a while - and i i hadn't got the um, i didn't have any super chunky in my stash. So when i saw this, i thought right i'll, give it a go and knit it up, and i really like the effect that it has created along here. The downside is, i didn't, use the size of needles specified in the pattern, so it's a little bit small for my head. So this is more kind of like a toddler-sized hat um, that's okay! I can keep all of it until i find someone who fits and then it fits it, and then i can gift it to them, so the sidewinder beanie, my final uh finished object is another quick crochet object this time, and this is bertie bunny. Isn'T he cute? So this was uh a one day, crochet project. I made this last sunday last sunday or last weekend in the uk we had fantastic weather, so um i've sat out in the garden crocheting this. This is my first garden make of the year. This is uh not following any particular pattern: uh after making some armored remy that you can see here, i've kind of got the basics down. So i kind of know what to do. I just started with crocheting at one leg up to there casting that off, then starting the next leg then knitting up to the same height, and then i joined together in the middle, and then i started going round and round and round until i got to about Here the desired height and then i started decreasing to the top um then with the ears i um kind of i crocheted. I don't know if you can see i crocheted in the round again to form like a little cone shape so starting at the top and then increasing down to the bottom and then uh when, when it got to the desired length, i kind of pushed it in Folded it together, um crocheted the ends together and then sewed it onto the head to give little sticky out ears regarding face embroidery because um this will probably be a baby gift. I haven't, i haven't decided yet if i will gift it or keep it or make another one um, i didn't want to use um safety eyes. I mean, even though safety eyes by their definition are safe. Um. I thought perhaps for a newborn baby uh. It would be better to embroider on the features so using some black embroidery thread. I just sewed on the eyes the nose and the mouth, so it's got little sleepy eyes so not too bad. I think it's, i think. That'S something i'm gon na have to work on facial embroidery. I think so that is little britty bunny, i should say he is crocheted um from stash yarn. I had uh some rico baby, so soft print dk. So that is what i had there years ago. I crocheted a little blanket and this is what i had left out of it, so it's quite nice, so that is bertie bunny. Okay, now on to my works in progress, two works in progress. One i'm going to show you today, the other one. It'S not worth showing you, because i've only done like four rows on it so anyway. First work in progress is the sweet dreams baby blanket um. This is a gorgeous blanket. It'S received a lot of love on instagram have to say, and this is it here there you go. I see all my ends, so let's sew those in so this is a beautiful crocheted baby blanket and the pattern is by baby clyde crochet. The yarn is emu. Classic dk - and this was a kit actually that i bought from the knitting network and um - i have to say, really beautiful - choice of colors, gorgeous kind of pastel rainbow, not in your face, but just beautiful, beautiful colors and what you'll see here is what you'll see Here is: there's a very, very nice v definition in each of the color stripes and that's done in white i'll show you so actually you'll see, there's a right side and the wrong side. So that was the right side and that's the wrong side of the finished design. But if you get the pattern, you'll see that that's not the case, ooh, i'm being cryptic but uh. If you buy the pattern, you'll know what i mean: it's a paid for pattern. So i don't want to give anything away, so um yeah really loving how this is turning out. Uh there are three color block repeats, so the color, that's one and i haven't quite finished the second one. I'Ve still got this colored finish, and then this color today, but once i get that done, then the blanket will be almost two-thirds complete because after the color rows are done, then there's the border to do all around it um. But yes, i'm really pleased with how this is. This is turning out. The yarn is gorgeous and soft and um it will make it will make a beautiful baby. Blanket haven't, decided, she's getting it yet, though, we'll just have to wait and see. So that is the sweet dreams. Crochet blanket right, there's a couple of things that i have added to my stash hobby. If you knew them or a danish brand, i think and they had a seal on and as i mentioned previously, i want to knit up. Another love note sweater, so that was the brand i bought. My original um four ply yarn from so i decided to buy some more from them, which is lovely. So i got this. I have gone for um, it's beautiful, beautiful, blue um, the color. It'S actually called dark, denim color number, six, that's a 75 25 um yarn and that's 100 grams 400 meters. So i've decided to go for this um. I am on the lookout for a suitable cereal packet, um yarn to go with it to give it the fluff um, but i haven't really seen a nice blue that will go with this um, because this is a it's a beautiful kind of rich, looking blue. So i want the um accompanying alpaca yarn to go with it to have the same kind of richness and i haven't come across one yet so that is a project i'm going to have to put on the back burner until i find a suitable yarn. But anyway, i would, i would totally recommend this this brand and when hobby have a seal on this, you have to buy it because it's so cheap. I think i got it for six or seven pounds of skin so when it's on sale buy it um. My my next purchase was also from hobby and because i've kind of been on a baby blanket crocheting kick recently um. I thought that this here would make a nice blanket, perhaps not for a baby, perhaps just for me uh. This is the hobby twister halloween. Now this is a discontinued one um. They might have some left on the website. I don't know but look at the colors. Oh my goodness, it's just such a pop. Isn'T it such an electric, pink and coral and then the black? I think the black really makes it sing, so this here is a huge cake, it's 250 grams and it's a thousand meters. Now, as we know, crochet eats yarn, so i'm not too sure how big a blanket this will create. If i do it as a star blanket i'm, it might be okay, it might give us kind of suitable baby size, star blanket but uh. That is that one i haven't crocheted or used this um particular yarn before. So i'm really interested to see how it um works up. It feels quite nice. It doesn't look too splitty um, so we shall see. Oh sorry, i should say it is 25 cotton, 45 acrylic um, so it would be machine, washable, machine, washable and all that. So that is that lovely bit of squishiness husband got a pizza, oven yeah he picked yeah. He got uh an uni. I think it's called an uni pizza, oven for the garden so um for this summer it was on it was on sale, so we hope uh to get that cracked open this weekend have a go at that um. If anyone has any tried and tested um pizza, oven recipes, please share or please direct me to wherever um yeah, because i would really like to really like to make some nice pizzas for that. So he's got some nice yeast and we're gon na uh make our own dough and everything for it. So that should be good. What else approaching easter the easter holidays are coming up in one week's time so really looking forward to having some time off work and make maybe um getting some getting some more crochet done. The men at my hands have been quite quite sore dry, skin and all that um. So i haven't been doing as much crochet as i would like. For that reason, i've got some books out of the library um, let's see so i might. I might perhaps do a little video on um some of the nice designs that i see in these books. That might be a future video. Maybe let me know what you think in the comments down below dear me. Sorry this is the pink panther, i'm wearing the pink panther today and he's rather sparkly. Oh, yes, i'm going to get my haircut next weekend next saturday. This is going um, so the next time i do a video i'm going to have different hair, yes, which you see um, i tend to like, grow my hair for ages and it just until it gets long and long long and then i just suddenly decide just To get it all chopped off, so that's what i'm going to do this time, i'm going to go to there. I think we shall see we shall see anyway. That'S it for today's episode, um, sorry about all the cat business earlier, there's a cat sleeping behind the camera. So hopefully, hopefully she hasn't jogged it too much um, it's a gorgeous sunny day. Today temperature has uh. It was lovely and warm last week and then it decreased a lot yesterday. Yesterday we were back in our kind of winter coats and everything um, but that's it. Yes, thank you very much for viewing um. Please leave comments down below um. If you have any lovely uh baby blanket patterns that you like to make, if you have any um pizza, oven recipes you'd like to share also um, so because i'm having trouble finding a corresponding cirrie alpaca yarn for this, i'm gon na ask for your help, guys It can't be mo hair, i don't get on with mohair very itchy. So can anyone suggest a brand that might have a color similar to this? The brand i used previously, it was drops, brushed, alpaca, silk, that's the one i used and their blue isn't quite isn't. Quite the same as this, so if anyone can can, let me know of any other brands that might have a better blue. That would be a really great help. Thank you. So that's it for today. Thank you for uh viewing, hopefully i'll, be back again in the very near future, with a a new video and please comment down below and if you don't already subscribe, please subscribe um, because that will help you to see my new videos when they get uploaded. You

Debbie Stuckey: So nice to catch up with you, Jean! Love your makes! I enjoy picking out a knit or crochet pattern from a stitch dictionary and making that into a baby blanket.

Karen K: The linen stitch blue and white was really stunning. But I love the soft pastel rainbow with the white v stitch. So sweet. I thought you did a great job with the embroidered face on the bunny. I prefer embroidered for a baby, too. The hat is a cool design. Do try again with bigger needles. Good luck with the pizza oven. Homemade pizzas will be fun to make with the kids, everyone gets their favorite toppings. Thanks for sharing.

SuzKnits: I just found your channel thanks for the videos.
