Hey friends, so today I'm going to be showing you guys how to do a pinup style for a pixie cut or just short, hair, you're gon na be kind of learning this, along with me, because I'm just gon na be trying this for the first time. So, let's see how it goes, I purchased some hair ties from Amazon to package right here. It'S called for read. I will certainly there are so like, for instance, it's got this wire in there to help. You know shape shape the hair tie around your head, and so I'm super excited about this, and another exciting thing is my youtube: channel is pretty young. I'Ve only been posting for about four months and I'm up to 100 subscribers. I know that's a little number to most of you, but it's a big milestone for me and so just kind of to celebrate that a little bit umm. If you subscribe and post a comment down below I'll pick a random comment and send a pack of these to you, um, let's get started, I just recently got out of the shower. My hair is still somewhat wet. I'M going to go ahead and spray it with a leave-in conditioner. This is just blonde Idol. I actually just found out the other day that this particular redkin product has been discontinued. So unfortunately you can't buy this anymore. You can find it sometimes on Amazon, but it's a discontinued product, so I'm basically gon na just really wet my hair since after I got out of the shower, I put my make and it kind of air-dried for a little bit - it's still quite damp, but what We want is, we want it to be able to be able to be molded into our hairstyle, so I've always wanted to try a pinup style. I think it will be super cute with a pixie cut. My latest passion is this Jin REE hot airbrush. I have a whole video of this um. The video goes through how to use this and how it styles so great, with a pixie cut or short hair style and anyways. I'M gon na use this to go ahead and try to drag my hair going back with curls and it going like this. So let's see how that goes. I might also just to make sure that this style stays I'm gon na spray. My hair right now with this perfect medium spray Kendra, it's hair spray. I know, but hair spray on wet hair helps with the curls for my hair, because my hair is fine. So again, this is the camera perfect, medium spray number thirteen - and I will link - is also in the description. I'M just gon na give everything a really good spray, it's starting to feel kind of sticky. So that's a good thing and let's get started, I don't have a full-blown curling iron, and so I have this little tiny travel mini. This is the travel smart by Conair and I'm gon na put some curls in there when this thing heats up. So my goal here is to do kind of like it looks a little crazy right now right, I'm gon na just do continue this backwards. Curling and I want some defined curls on the top going back. Okay, so the curling iron is hot enough. Now, let's go ahead: girls in there and I'm just gon na take a tone and be very specific about this. I'M gon na start back here and I kind of comb it down a little bit and I'm gon na part off a chunk. As you can see, I'm about due for another haircut, my hair is getting kind of wild and isn't the need of some new color. So I've got an appointment this week, so this isn't quite doing it. Let'S try again all right. I'M gon na leave that there for a second anyway, while that's heating up a little bit, I think I'm gon na go. It seems like if you have a pixie cut or short hair. Do you guys have the same trouble of like every time? You know it's been eight weeks um. If you get your hair colored it's starting to grow out. Your hair is starting to get kind of um. You know all the layers are growing out and do you guys do this where you're like? Oh, should I try something different, I feel like I'm doing that, all the time, I'm always getting different toners. My was getting my haircut just slightly different and I think this time what I'm gon na do is I'm gon na have my hairstylist cut my sides shorter and keep the top longer. So we'll see how that looks. Look at this next layer here. This might even work better with maybe a smaller barrel size for your curling iron. I didn't want really tight curls. I just wanted to loose curls and my my hair is just down long enough to actually go be put in a buck, use a curling iron on it, so kind of glad that this is working today. Alright, so it took those two curls we're gon na keep going here all right. We don't not only want to curl the top, but we should do something with the sides as well. So after this curl, let's evaluate what we're going to do. Alright, that curl stuck really nicely now. We'Ve got this other stuff to deal with, so I think I'm gon na take a side curl right there and one right here and we go set up the back to to deal with. But let's just do a couple side. Curls over here and one right, there put one big one in the back, because my back, but my hair is pretty short, but there's some right here at the very top that I should be able to get in all right. I can't tell you how long it's been since I used to curling iron on my hair. I think it might have been a year okay, so now that I've got the curls in I'm going to do another spray so that this holds it's nice about that medium. Hairspray is that it actually doesn't get hard and crunchy it's real flexible, so I'm gon na let this dry just for a second and then we're gon na start on our style, so the hairspray is dry. The next thing I'm going to do is I'm going to just barely use use my fingers to barely get some of these curls unloosened, okay and I'm gon na take a bobby pin. So what I'm going to do is I'm going to take this top part right here and kind of twirl it a little bit and then poof it out like this. So we want that top curl to stay. So I'm going to just do a quick, bobby pin right there. Okay, now I'm ready for the ribbon. So let's decide what to wear. We'Ve got this plaid one. We'Ve got this striped one. I'Ve got dark blue! I'M going to pick something that matches my dress here. Maybe this one it's a kind of a plaid black and white. We'Ve got a plaid black and white in red. We'Ve got kind of a USA themed one and we've got a light blue and a pink. I feel like I'm gon na go with the pink. It seems like a nice contrast from this black polka dot dress, so, let's give it a try and guys. This is my first time using one of these. I was so intrigued to find these on Amazon, because what I usually have the problem with, if I use a ribbon, is it doesn't stay like quite like I like it, and I love this - that it has this wire in here so you're gon na be trying This out with me, so I'm gon na start at the back of my head here. So the key is: where do I want the ribbon? I want the ribbon, obviously behind my ears on the back of my head, I'm gon na just twirl this around whoo. That stage really nicely you can kind of curl this into a bow like this, or you could just kind of leave the even kind of floppy like this, which I might deal okay. So what I'm noticing here is that this side of my hair I'd like to be a little closer to my head, so I'm going to take this off and use a little bit of gel to gel those down. I mean I got this Jason high shine gel. It'S a really a good product. It'S got no parabens, sulfates petroleum. I dilates. I don't usually gel dry hair, but I think in this case it might be good because I want my sides to lay flat right here. I'M gon na do the same thing on this side and if it helps to get a comb through there and a comb through this side, let's try this again. I really like that. You can just twirl it around and it stays where you put it. I think I'm gon na maybe do it in a little bow. I'M gon na flip out the back. What do you think? I think this looks so cute? Yes, so I think I'm super happy with this. This looks adorable and I'm going to just do a quick spray on everything to make sure it holds, and what you don't want to do is lose volume in the back. I’ve recently got a pixie cut and yes, like you it needs trimming, thinning and slicing to get the shape back. I’ve taken to cutting it myself with my husband just cutting a straight line at the back and vertical cut along it then I do the rest.
