Hey guys, it's Tesla, since today's video I'm going to be installing dreadlocks onto my grown-up undercut. So I've been growing my undercut up now for pretty much about six months, and this is how long it's got. So I'm going to be attaching these dreadlocks that I made from human hair extensions. I was working on these last night and I've got a nice amount that I want to install so for now, I'm going to be installing dreadlocks to where my undercut used to go. Eventually, maybe I'd like a few more, I used to wear synthetic dreadlocks, so I don't want to have a whole head and then suddenly change my mind and feel like I got ta take all of it out. So I'm going to show you guys what I've done so far, so we're starting off with a quarter head and I sectioned each bit of hair that will be attaching a dreadlock to so working in about inch squares and separating it off with little rubber bands. We are going to attach these dreadlocks onto each section by cutting the top off where the extension used to be over a clip in, or something like that. So these extensions that I use used to be tapings, so I'm just going to cut the top. So what you would need is very fine, toothcomb, probably a metal one. It works best and also some crochet needles. Now I'm using a 1 millimeter and also is there a point seven-five of the mill, and I find these ones like really good, ok, so the first thing I'm gon na do is just double check. Each section is exactly where we want it to be and make sure there isn't any hair that we don't want to become dreaded. The technique that I used for the sectioning was pretty much like a bricklaying method, so choosing which dread do you want to go where I've chosen these ones, I think, will be best. Remember the dreadlocks take months to mature. So at the beginning, when you make them, they will be very fluffy to start off with so these little baby dreads are nice and fluffy. So let's get started: let's attach these dreadlocks onto each bit of habit of sectioned. So I think I'm going to start off with this one and touch here. I'M going to make sure that the elastic band is very tight. Don'T worry about the elastic band. We can always cut this off later, it's just so all the hairs keeps together and we don't lose them while we're making the dress so backcomb the hair slightly. What'S the longest, the hair can be to apply dreadlocks in this way and apparently ten centimeters of hair is best when a touching girl looks it can be done shorter, but then there's a risk of them falling out. So we're going to cut the top of this extension and start attaching it to the hair, I'm just gon na like fill it out a little bit. It'S like this. Okay! So now the base this dread has been back combed. Now I'm going to attach the dread expansion grabbing a crochet needle or crochet hook, we're to use the one male for now and then eventually get it smaller line up the dread extension with the section this and now what we're gon na do we're going to place. The crochet needle through this dreadlock pulling your own half through the extension. What you want to like the song stuck in my head. It'S me: sweetheart is placing like a macho so now that has it kind of combined into the dreadlocks I'm going to put a crochet needle kind of in it out of the dread just to knock those little hairs up into the extension I'm gon na take a While but is almost attached just kind of go in and out with the judge just to secure and tighten the hairs in the middle, you should be able to pull it and it's not gon na come up. So I've noticed before attaching the drag. You need to make sure that the thickness of the drag is the same thickness of the section that you back combed the little bit at the beginning. Otherwise there may be a gap in between where you have attached the dreadlock. So, just making sure that you overlap the section slightly with the dread and then, when you crochet the loose hairs inside that dreadlock, it should all become one and there will be no gaps. So this one dreadlock took me 20 minutes to attach. I fast forward the whole process for you, so I'm going to attach as many as I can on to the rest of these sections and we'll get back to you. So you can watch me do that one, so you better find after a while that your thumb is gon na be very sore, and even when I made these dreadlocks this skin on my thumb from the crochet needle it's kind of shredded up. So you might want to make a timetable to when you're going to do this cuz. You are gon na get quite tired and sore fingers. So, with the loose hairs, I'm just going to kind of wrap them around the dread and then brush the crochet hook through and then pull them through or they should pull through to the other side. Just so we really not up it's good luck, I'm just going to give it a little on to to the next I mentioned without even knowing our body thought, you feel the tension over city to the next. I mention truth. Ok, so it's been about three and a half hours since I've started doing this and I have one dreadlock left to go and then I'm finished say guys: let's see what I've done so far, so this is what I've done so far. I'Ve got this one to go finish, so I'm just going to give them a palm roll. Oh, I absolutely love how they're looking so the dreadlocks they it stick out a little bit and they're still quite fluffy. If you guys do research into dreadlocks, you will know that when the dreads start off at the first time they're installed, they are very fluffy and they take months and months and months to mature to get to that really nice dreadlock stage. They are so super fluffy. But I love how they're looking and I can't wait to go through the whole experience and watch them mature over the time yeah. I think the one thing that's gon na kind of get me is because I'm having a partial head of dreadlocks, so I'm not having my whole head in dreadlocks, I'm actually only having about 1/3 of my head in dreads. So the one thing that I have to look out for is not getting the rest of my hair, tangled up with the dreadlocks, so I have to separate them constantly and when I brush my hair, make sure that I don't just catch the dreadlocks and keep it Yeah, just basically keep it separated from the dreadlocks, as it could end up being like a huge knot. So that's the one thing that I have to look out for because of the partial head, I'm so happy with how it turned out. I remember when I first put a head of synthetic dreadlocks, not real dreadlocks, and that took me like four and a half hours to install so considering these are like real dreadlocks, we're real human hair and they any time about three hours, three and a half hours. I know it's not full head, but thinner in these are gon na, be here for as long as I can possibly have them for then it's do worth it. Okay, so we've got one more dreadlock to go. I'M going to put this little blonde here, just behind my ear, after playing around with the different crochet hooks. Definitely the 0.75 of the millimeter is a really good size to have. It picks up the hairs, a lot easier dozen of 1 mil, I find with the one mill it kind of leaves a hole inside the dreadlock when you stick it through, because it's not quite small enough, I mean it does do a really good job. If you put it inside the middle of the dread, tighten it up a little bit, but I would recommend using smaller than one mil so a point seven-five of a millimeter. Their technique that I found just works best is grab the section. Get your fin comb. Make sure about that is as close to the head as you can bring to you back home, the section not all of it, just about a centimeter to get that thread started just backcomb in different angles. So once it's got about a centimeter of pretty pretty steady bit of back home, we're then going to add the dreadlock with this bit, find it if you separate it in half and then with the dreadlock extension separate this in half and then kind of sandwich. These two pieces together, but first the dread up. So it goes up to that bit. We just back home all right in between hair. Now I'm going to take the crochet needle and I'm going to pull through those hairs as much as possible. Also remember to kind of give the dreadlock a twist every now and again, just even out the hairs that we pull through this bit seems to take so because the dreadlocks they made are from human hair. I will be able to dye them. You can also make dreadlocks from synthetic hair, but that's the only downside. If you do choose to do dreadlocks with synthetic hair, then you can't beat your diamond. So if you do have human hair extensions and you wanted to do this, I definitely recommend it. If you guys are wondering yes, I did have my nose pierced again, so these two piercings on you, the bar, is a lot longer than it should be because they are still healing they're fresh, but we called now. These are called high, nostril piercings. So I just wanted to let you know, because maybe some of you were wondering what so okay, I think it was um like yeah, they're, high nostrils and they're with Ana Bret bar and each side and if you're wondering it hurt. Yes, it hurt. So I'm going to finish crocheting this dreadlock, so this is what's gon na happen to your thumb. When you finish, it's shredded right up. Okay, guys, I finally finished doing the dreadlock, give it a little formal. So this is what they look like, I'm so happy with them all together there are nine dreadlocks, so I have one row of four and then one row five. So this is what they look like at the back. As you can see, I still have the rubber bands on each of the sections, so I'm just going to leave a rubber bands on from that day. I think it'll look a lot better when I don't have the little rubber bands, but it just adds so much more volume and thickness to my natural hair. This is how long they are compared to my natural hair. So if I find that my head just gets too knotted over time because of the partial dreadlocks, I probably will just add a few more layers in the back with the dreads, because at the moment they come to you you come to here on my head. All of this was actually loose hurt, so I could do with a few more there. We go guys. That was me installing my dreadlock extensions. Thank you so much for watching this video don't forget to give it a thumbs up and subscribe for more and I'll see you guys soon, bye, guys, you

Tessarr: How To Make Dreadlocks! https://youtu.be/tnY4KitLBtI

Kale: This will always be my favorite video on installing dreads because your video is the only one I've seen so far that shows people how to permanently install dreadlocks into already existing hair instead of just braiding it in. You're amazing at what you do

Tank Girl: Would love to add as a person with partial locks, and long hair that after so long your dreads will naturally keep to themselves. I'm 2 years in and I no longer have issues having to constantly separate my straight hair from my locked hair!

Cheyenne Lynn: Yay! This is definitely what I'm going to be doing with my undercut. They look amazing. Thank you for sharing!!!

Janell Scroggins: They look great, and I like the diameter you chose. I haven’t seen human hair dread extensions done, only synthetic; I like the look of human hair more. I’m sure a lot has to do with the time and care you put into making the individual dreads, but I LOVE that you can bleach and color the natural hair!! Thanks for sharing ☺️ Also, you should get a thimble for you sore thumb, it will help!!

NEBSpecialEdition: So helpful. Started doing dread extensions as a business! It has really taken off!

Chaesing Circles: Make sure you get a residue free shampoo! It's key for keeping your dreadlocks happy and healthy and clean. And always DRY YOUR HAIR. You don't want any water getting stuck in there and creating dread rot over time. My biggest issue was getting the root area fully dry. Best of luck on your journey! I had two sets of dreadlocks and learned so much about them each time. Here if you ever have any questions!

Melony: You've done a lovely job. It is so much harder to do on your own head. What length extension did you use? Also, I know you mentioned in a previous video wished to preserve as much length as possible but if you stay loose when you begin the extension is is a bit easier to attach.

kristen louise: Looks fantastic! My son wants this done with extensions I will give it a go :-)

Jean Farias: Oh my goodness!! Thank you so much!! I just bought dreadlock extensions and have been looking for tutorials. This was perfect! I have shoulder length hair and had no clue how to attach them. Thank you again! I enjoy your videos!!

Neşe Şimşek: I did my dreadlock extansion, with your videos. Thank you.

Peace Key Artistry: You made this process so simple. Thanks!

M Carrigan: This is what I'm growing out my undercut for!

Jay geo: I'm part of a dreadlock page and I'm totally showing this video cus ppl ask all the time how to install perminant dreads!!! Thank you

Codex Medusa: I was looking for a good clear easy vid to show my friends list, I just finished dreading a set up for my 4th go at perm locs. Thanks for taking the time to post this.

Marra Mcfarland: You make it look so much easier than it really is lol my arms were so tired after messing around for ten mins with one and it wasn’t even secure so I gave up lol

Shaniafan1: Love your hand tattoo. And this is an amazing tutorial.

Cris AD: Hey, nice to see you going back to dreads. A long while back I watched your videos about the synthetic dreads, and I made some and put them in. I liked the look so much that a few months after that I got actual dreads and def still have them.

Free shrugs: you make it look so easy! I really want to do this too! Edit: i did 4 rows and they look so neat! Love them!

Cutri Exploratory: This was very informative! Thank you!

Yana Lauperak: GIRL!!! My mind is BLOWN! How amazing you are this is like magic!! I need this in my life hahaha

Maria Hodson: I have watched loads of these and you have done awesome on this the best one I've seen so thank you so much for that and bless you

Bri Wright: Would you ever do a full head of dreads? I feel like that would suit you so well!

Seville M: I love your creativity! So awesome!

Lost Girl Adventures: Glad ur back Tessa love watching ur videos. Love ur hair in dreads and ur new piercing xx

Musiccat95: Yours is the only video I have found with this technique on this length of hair thankyou

Victoria De Flon: I am currently looking for some human hair extensions to do dread lock extensions. I know that after dreading the extensions they become a shorter. So how did you determine the length of extensions that you needed? In other words, How much should I be prepared for the extensions to shrink after dreading?

Stella: thank you for this! I have dreads for roughly 2 weeks now and I'm growing out my undercut for 5 months..I really don't want to deal with the look of these short hairs in the back peeking trough anymore

FaithBeautyMUA: They look amazing on you girl!!

Mariya Mariy: Очень красиво!

EvilPeanut 1102: Hey Tessarr. Another interesting video. Been excited for this one. Love the high nostril piercings. I want anti tragus as my next piercing and something in the other ear to compliment it, dont know what yet though. Any suggestions? I already have tragus and helix xx

Holy freakin' 'Dragon': I couldn't sit there for 8 hours to install my synthetics anymore so stopped wearing them. I can't imagine how many hours this would take me ace tutorial BTW

ChicFlyPosh Virgin Hair: I’ve been looking for a video like this. I have short, thin, soft hair. It is kinky. However, you’re technique gives me hope that I can install my extensions myself. Did you ever remove the rubber bands? What size crochet hook are you using?

Stella: I attached 4 (out of 8 undercut extensions) yesterday and I'm always in the fear of tugging on it these nape hairs can hurt so much. I always attach extensions with a different method I hope none of them fall out lmao

FreeSpirit: They look so cool!!! I'd pay you to do mine for me

Kristen Palone: how long after the locks are created can you dye them?

Akane blackrv: Finally someone that doesn't just braid the hair around

_Babyboy_Jimin_: It looks so cute on you! I adore you and your videos.

Angela Rudge: They look fab! I might give it a go.

Amie Marie Creative: Oh cool!!! I didn't know you could do this, that's awesome!

Kristen Palone: i recently added extensions to my dreads that were extended from their creation. i think i did a decent job attaching the new extensions although when i rub my fingers on it, i can feel that there is a tiny loose gap between the new extensions and the existing dreads. i am using a crochet hook to bring the hair from new extensions into my hair but is it possible the two may never fully intertwine?

Imboch Neras: I had to cut off a dread that started good and after a year ended up MEGA thin at the base. I'm planning on doing this extension thing when the hair grows more, I will redo a short chode-dread and hopefully will be able to attach a dread extension so it catches up to the rest.

Bree luther: Thanks girl ,this video was very knowledgeable ☠

SamSam: So glad you explained the nice piercings. I was so sure you didn’t have them in the last video I watched

ashley hurley: I miss my dreads. There fun to have and watch, they change every day after the first month.

Tryinnosaurus Rex: Crap, you scared me with that “fine toothed comb” thought it was a razor blade

Charlotte the Artist: It defiantly adds more volume and length. And I think all people with thinning hair would appreciate it. And short hair. I went from short blonde to long brunette dreads. .this girl is a doll and a babe.

Kaylie Izzy Gallegos: How do you take them out when you need to readjust?

NinjaCraf: Looking good, keep your eye on them, the extensions might fall out after a while, mine did when they were baby's :)

Hayley B: You make it look so easy. I can't do it

Jay Bentley: After I finish it all can u take the rubber band's off?

CherriBlossom88: Love your dreads!! ✨

Melanie Calivar: You are a hair pro! one question though.. when you decide to take the dreadlocks out do they damage the undercut hair it's tied to? seems such a shame since you're trying to grow it out! just curios. xoxox

CyanRat: Would this work with wool or just human hair? I am stuck in between doing my own actual hair and doing extensions like this <3

DreamyHime: Thanks! Youre awesome ♡

Katastrophe zombie: You look adorable. I love your high nostrils as well. I miss mine. This was helpful..thank you!

Luke explores: That’s awesome what’s the shortest length hair you could add dress extension too ?

Xaforn: When you attach the dreads to such a short length, the hair growing out will dread as well correct?

Tiffanie Mullins Manitta: How did you dread the new growth after adding the extension. I like your method of attaching the dread the best.

Margarita Sánchez: Hi, what do you mean about the dreads to "mature"? I'm a total noob in the dreadlock theme :D

333 Meditate with me: Glad I found this will be doing my husbands soon

matia ibba: supercool! ik heb net 4 dreadlocks in mijn eigen haar gemaakt. Wel met mijn eigen haar, zonder extentions aangezien mijn eigen haar al erg lang is :)

skye purcell: im planning on doing my own dreads soon, does your hair get damaged after taking it out??

Mac K: Did this damage your hair and how long did they last until they started to come undone

Whyte Rabbyt: What happens to the rubber bands you used to gather the hair? Do they eventually break and fall out or do you cut them out?

Catherine Fahy: have you tried using a rubber thimble to save your thumb?

Caithlynn: for how long will they stay in your hair

Shelby V: I just added one dread to my head today! How long did you leave the rubber bands on your dreads? I’ve read take it off right away, a week, and let it break off on its own.

féline louwagie: omggggg you helped meeeeeeeeeee i love you so much rn!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Aastranova: I have 3B curls, I am having dreads coming in the mail and a little nervous. Any advice?

Mia Mcgrath: How long do these last? Thanks!!!

Kristen Whitley: Ive been going mine out since march this year, and mine is barely the same length as your undercut lol

Miadani: i was also wondering about your new piercings. did you make a video of getting it done? i don't think i've seen a piercing like these before.

Destiny Bowman: You are just so adorable! Your voice is very soft and soothing, also you have a very kind face. Like you are a gentle person.

Liv Davies: I so badly want to put my dread extensions in but every time I try I just can’t seem to do it! So annoying :(

Alex Leyland: How often do you wash your hair?

Sara Kemirembe: Nice

jessandria vega: How would we detach them? Just curious before I commit.

Sea’ Est La Vie: What do u recommend to soften new locs? Im afraid the boiling water thing will melt them!

Marti Thew: Awesome video. My arms are aching for you. :-)

Fox Keith White: how long do they last for is it permanent?

Nina Kaptein: Your lobes look really healthy! How do you maintain them?

Alex Light: Thank you

Diana Kohlmetz: Silly question but do you take the rubber bands out? Also can you do this with like cheek length hair? My top is cheek length and my sides and back are shaved.

aly matos: But how do you get them out

Cyd Gamez: Someplace where i can buy it extensions like that, really i want!

E: Gorgeous surely your arms get sore though?

Sleepy Ko: how do you remove them

Gurmeet kaur...: It's temporary aur permanently...for how much time it last

Leona Swift: You have a lovely personality

Shannon Colwell: Rid synthetic fabric dye works on synthetic hair

Sreha Shrestha: Do you cut that rubber band after?

Kelly DePOL: Hi I've just done the unthinkable. I cut my dreads as it was killing my neck and felt they was sucking the life out of me.i kept them.abd thought I could see them on a bun thing top knot ? Got any ideas...? Has I just found out I'm going to be a nan. It was time I threw in the towel. But .....I changed my mind x

Peace Key Artistry: How long did that take ?

Daniela Kuznecova: How do you take them off?

Colleen Mathieu: I want dreads sooo bad

Pratik Rathod: Cutnessss

Lucas-Kane Mutti: Did you buy them dreadlock extensions?

Rowen F.: Its kinda like needle felting

DaKween Lyrics: When I read the title I thought it was an app.
