Hello, my name is Lauren and today in this video, I'm gon na be talking all about my pixie haircut and how I like to maintain and style it on a day to day basis. I had long waist length hair my whole life up until about two years ago, when I decided to chop it off and get a pixie cut, mostly because I just wanted something, really easy and fun and versatile, and that's really what I got. I love my pixie cut, it's super fun and you can create a ton of stuff with it, but on a normal day-to-day basis. I usually just have it looking something like this: it's kind of kind of all over the place, but it's like cute too. I think I can still run my fingers through it. It doesn't have a bunch of product in it that weighs it down and it's just fun. It'S just fun. If you're interested in seeing me style, my pixie cut like this, then just keep on watching and by the way. I just finished filming a tutorial on this eye makeup that I did today. So if you like, this, then check out my description box where I'll have a link to with the video alright. So now I'm gon na go and I'll come back with hair that just came out of the shower okay. So I just hopped out of the shower. This is what my hair looks when it's towel dried, nothing, fancy it's really floppy and it goes and you were that it once and it's actually pretty fun to just kind of play with at this stage. Cuz. You know it's just kind of crazy, just like kind of feathers going everywhere. So at this point, if I let my hair just dry, naturally when it was dry, it would be so smooth and silky and like floppy, but it would just hang like right in my face like this and I wouldn't be able to move it. It would just like go right back and it would be really annoying. I'Ve been done before and it's just so annoying. So I always put something in my hair when it's wet to add some texture to it, so that when it's dry, it'll kind of mold to whatever I want it to do a little bit better. So, for a long time, my favorite product, for this has been my Garnier Fructis beach, chick texturizing spray, and this stuff is awesome because it smells really good. First of all, but you just spray it on your hair when it's wet and then just like, run it through with your fingers and then when your hair is dry, it's kind of like a salt spray. I guess I've never really used one of those but like something that you spray onto your hair, so that when it's dry it has a little bit more texture and you can mold it a little bit better. So all I need to put this on is I just spray it all over my hair and I get kind of a lot or I try to get all of my hair coated and all the kind of like lift up parts I just inhaled some. Usually you don't talk when you do this: Sato breathe it in okay but yeah you just spray it all through your hair, don't breathe it. That was not good okay, but it smells really good. So now that I have you all sprayed in my hair, all that I do is, I just go with my fingers and kind of put it all, get it all rubbed in there and again it looks super crazy right now, which is pretty fun. So you just get it all in and you can kind of feel where in your hair, you didn't get any so like right here in the front it feels like. I don't have enough. So just take some more spray it on there, throw it in get it all in there there you go and then from here I just let my hair air dry most days. So obviously, if you have it, you know like this it'll air dry, like that. So you don't want to do that, so you want to like mold it to be kind of how you want it to be when it's dry. So I like to kind of push it all forward and then the back part I push back and besides I just kind of wiggle it all forward like this. You can get the sides the way you want and then with the top front part. I just kind of run my fingers through it to get it to go to this side, and this is how I'm feeling today sometimes I'll make you go. The other side doesn't really matter, and since your hair's wet it's, not all gon na cooperate exactly but just kind of get it in general shape that you want it to be when it's dry. So if you want it all back, you wouldn't slick it all back or whatever. It'S like that so from here. I think I'm gon na do my makeup and I will come back when my hair is dry all right. So now I'm gon na do my makeup and my hair is dry by the way. If you like this makeup, look, I filmed a tutorial on it and I'll put it up sometime soon, so keep an eye out for it. Alright, so my hair is dried and this is kind of the fun part. That'S that spray that I put in it made it a lot more pliable. If I didn't put the spray in it, right now just be totally flat and it wouldn't be doing anything. But since the spray is in it, I can kind of run my fingers through it and get it to do all this fun stuff. I can get it to go over here, which I would want to do, but I can so yeah now it's much more pliable and you can do a lot more with it out of the time I'll just leave my hair at this. For a day, I like, when it looks kind of crazy, like this, the reason that I got it because he cut was because I wanted something: low maintenance and pretty easy, while also being really fun and like kind of all over the place. So I really lucked out with this haircut, but if you want more texture and control with your hair, I like to add a powder texturizer like this one from big sexy hair called powder play. This kind of product is really cool because it adds texture to your hair really really easily. So I'll. Just give you an example and show you how I like to put this stuff in my hair first, I will just bring it all to the front of my head like this and then what I do is I start from the back and I take a little Section of hair, so you can get to your roots and you take a little bit of this stuff only a little bit. You really don't need a lot and you just tap it in there. Oh there you go that looks kind of too much, so you just tap it on there and then I go a little bit forward and I take another section and I tap a little bit in there and then I do again in the front, and this will Just make sure that it's evenly distributed throughout your hair, okay, now you got that in there and watch this. This is pretty cool, so you just I like to run my fingers just through the roots and kind of rub to get the powder to distribute throughout my hair and really stick and very easily watch this. You get so much lift. Look at this. You can make your hair do anything you wanted to do with this stuff. It'S awesome and it also makes your hair feel kind of sticky. So, like I can't really run my fingers through it anymore. It kind of gets stopped by this stuff, which I don't mind because it doesn't feel like like crunchy it's just it's just texture. So this stuff is awesome. You can really play your hunt and do anything that you want with this stuff. So I'll put in a little bit of that and then kind of fluff it up the way that I want it, and so I feel like with pixie haircuts in order to get a good style. You have to start with something kind of crazy and then just like rein, it back in like it's, never just like gon na look flawless, the entire time, you're styling it so you have to you, have to embrace this kind of thing happening. But I think for today I'm gon na kind of get it to flatten back out and run it this way again and then the front part I want to come up and over. So you just have to work with it and yeah. That looks good. It'Ll kind of fall down a little bit, but you can still run your hands through it. If you wanted to change your style throughout the day you easily could, if the wind blows it around, it makes it go crazy. You can just kind of push it back. I really like doing this because it's just like it's just easy and I personally really like these little pieces that stick up on the side. I don't know if it's everybody's style, but for me I just think they're, fun and cute and they just kind of stick up there and do whatever they want. So this kind of like freeform, do whatever you want. Style really works for me all right. So I think I'm gon na stop messing with it and leave it. Something like this. Like I said, it's not gon na look exactly the same throughout the day. If you do it this way, it'll change based on how you play with it or how the wind moves it or like whatever, but I like that because then you don't have to worry about it, looking to like crusty or like weird - and you also don't have To worry about it like falling, because this stuff will keep it up all the time. I don't like to wash my pixie cut every day, because then you have to go through this whole process of putting these products in it every single day, and that is just too much work for me. So on dates, I don't take a shower. If my hair seems like be falling down a little bit or if it's looking a little bit greasy, I like to use dry shampoos, and I particularly like dry shampoos that are just come out as a powder kind of like the texturizing powder. I don't like the aerosol ones, because I just don't think that they give me any more texture. They take the oils out, but they just make my hair kind of fall flat and limp again, and I don't really want that. So my favorite dry shampoo for days. I don't take a shower and want more texture. Is this one here? It is by a brand called a cure and it's just called a dry shampoo and just like the texturizer, it's just a powder that you just tap into your head and I put it on the exact same way: I'll brush them on my hair forward I'll section. It I'll put a little bit in each section and then I just kind of run. My fingers through it and it'll absorb all the oils and give you more texture back. So that's pretty much all that I do on a day to day basis to maintain my pixie cut. It'S pretty easy! You just throw a couple things in it, don't think about it, I'll dry, it yeah just leave it. If you want to see me, do any more tutorials using my hair, let me know I don't do a ton of styles with it, but sometimes I'll do like a little faux hawk, which is really fun. So if you want to see that kind of thing, let me know in the comments - and I will try to do that - alright. Well, thank you so much for watching this tutorial about my everyday pixie cut hair. I had fun doing it. I'Ve wanted to do it for a while. So I'm glad that I did, if you like this tutorial, please feel free to subscribe to my channel. I mostly have makeup tutorials on it, but I'd be happy to do more hair videos. If that's what people want alright. Well, thank you so much for watching and I'll see you in my next video bye,
