How To: Sleek Low Ponytail W/Weave On 4C Natural Hair

I don't care about the scene. Hey guys, hey! Welcome back to my channel, it's makayla here, if you're new around here and tonight, i'm going to do a quick tutorial for you guys. So if you're, looking at my hair right now, it looks like i kind of slapped it on and that's because i did so. I got this ponytail recently. It is the instant pony from what brand is this sensational? It'S perm, yaki in 18. Inches hope you guys. Can see that because i hate when people do their screenshots mac, quick, so anywho, i just decided to slap this on tonight like i had my hair slicked back from having a headband wig on, and i decided i want to try out this ponytail, so my slick Bag is not even that great, i don't know if you can see it's kind of bumpy and tonight is the night to wash my hair anyway. So i decided to do that and i'm just going to show you guys how i do it so right now i'm going to go ahead and wash my hair. Let me share with you what i wash my hair with. I still have this from when i did my um curly cut at so, even though this is expensive, this lasts for a good minute. So this is the malibu undo. Goo shampoo is really good at doing what it says undo any goo in your hair, and this thing is slick back right now. So i need that then i'm gon na go in with this, so i double wash when i'm taking out a slick ponytail. So this is the olaplex number four shampoo and then i'm gon na go in with. Oh, i'm almost done with this, the olaplex number five conditioner and then the number eight moisture mask. I kind of use both of these as conditioners, and that really helps me to detangle, and you know, of course let them sit for um some minutes in my hair. So i'm gon na do all that and tonight i'm just going to plan it up overnight braid. It up overnight to stretch it and then in the morning i will finish up the ponytail with you guys. Hopefully i have enough time before we drop off my son, so yeah. I hope you guys enjoyed this little tutorial. If you just want to slap on a quick ponytail like i did this morning, and do it a little better than i did all right see you soon all right guys, so i am just starting out by prepping my hair. This is the night before um i've. Just finished watching washing it and i am going to put in some olaplex number six bond smoother as the leave-in and i'm going to go in and use that as a leave-in conditioner stretch, my hair overnight, by putting it into plaits right there. I just used my felicia leatherwood brush to detangle, and then i just use the skinny comb to part. You don't have to do any kind of neat parting here. You just want to allow the hair to dry overnight and be kind of stretched in the morning to help speed up the blow dry process. I want to shout out at itsrayla on instagram, because some of the technique that i use here i learned when she did my hair for my podcast hall of fame ceremony. You can watch that vlog to catch a piece of her but shout out to you um. It'S rayla that israela now this is the next morning and i am just going to go in and blow dry, my hair, so i am starting out with the revlon brush, but that didn't do the trick. So i went in with my 25 uh handy dandy blow. Dryer with the comb attachment never fails me and because i have detangled it, i only have to do a few passes again. I'M just stretching this because i find the style looks sleeker and lasts longer, with a little bit of stretch and so um. I am going in with the comb attachment just to straighten it out just a little bit but again low setting and um. Don'T have to do too too many passes because i have detangled it. So that's where my hair is before i start the process. So now i'm going to part it i'm doing a center part and i'm using my comb clips to section it off, i'm using the gummy professional maximum hold hair, gel um and i'm starting with the back section. So i am just starting to slowly sleek this back and make it as flat as possible the goal and section of your hair in order to do this, sleek ponytail is to make sure that each strand of your hair is as slick as possible. You don't want to just pull the whole thing back and put the gel on top, because no those individual strands are not flat. So that's why you get a puffy, not so sleek looking ponytail, so you do it section by section: take your bristle brush and then go over the gel and also you can use the skinny comb to again get that gel into the strands to make your hair Lay as flat as possible, so now i have it as flat as i wanted. I braided the end and wrapped it around and put it put it in a low bun and by the way, i'm doing this. In the morning before i drop my son off at school, so i am short on time here, but as you're gon na see it is still going to do the trick. So now this is the ponytail. It comes with two combs one on top one on bottom. So you can kind of make a little donut hole put in the first clip on top and then the bottom clip underneath your low bun and then you're going to tighten it and then wrap the string around and then take a strand of the hair and wrap That around to hide the string, but then i go in with my um a little bit of edge control. I like the black panther strong again, it's rayla put me up on that um, so i like the black panther, um, edge, control and um. So here i sometimes set my hair overnight and you could do that to make this even flatter. Put on a scarf set your hair overnight. Those waves will be spinning. It will be so so flat. But again i did this in the morning before dropping my son. At daycare - so i did not have time for that, but you're gon na see that it still looks amazing all day. Once you um go through, stick it down, you can even brush it up. I did go back and brush my kitchen in a little bit more with some more gel once i saw this video but yeah. That'S how it's looking with a simple like 15 minute application, you guys and there you have it okay guys. So this is a few hours later after i've dropped, my son off and the pony is still pony in. Let me see if there is, i don't think, there's anything behind it. So this is how it's looking um, it's really hard. I don't know how to do a good 360 with y'all, but i hope that that gives you the picture i'll also insert a few clips um. So this was kind of rushed this morning. So imagine when you even have even more time like i said you can um let your hair lay even more overnight, with a scarf or just a few hours to really get it as flat as you want. But i just want to show you that, even when you're rushing in the morning that process took under 20 minutes to do - and this is this - is achieving the desired effect. So i hope that's helpful.
