Quick And Easy Clip In Ponytail On Short Natural Hair

Hello Slayed Gang!

Long time no see, but your girl is back! If you're a faithful subscriber you know I've been rocking the short tapered natural for quite some time now. I love the edginess of my haircut but the cosmetologist in me has to experiment with other hairstyles.

I had a set of clip ins laying around the house and I thought it would be a great idea to use them for a ponytail. This was my first time attempting it, and it turned out great! Please leave more suggestion for protective styles in the comment below. Also, don't forget to like and subscribe!

Hi and welcome to royally suede, if you're interested in a simple, quick and easy protective style stay tuned and i'll show you how i achieve this clip in ponytail, okay. So first, let's start off by talking about the supplies i use, so i use some regular small black rubber bands butterfly clips um, some oil, which i didn't use a rat tail comb, two different kinds of brushes, a wide tooth comb - and this is the afro sheen Slick back cream, i have some water and a towel here, i'm just taking my rat tail comb and parting. My hair, i decided on the middle part because i feel like that'll, be best for the length of my hair. If your hair is longer, you probably can pull off a side part. So now that i have my part defined, i'm just securing what hair that i can with the butterfly clips, and i am going to attempt to form a ponytail in the back. But what you will see is my hair is very short so that wasn't that successful but, like i said if your hair is longer it'll, probably work better so right here, i'm taking the afro sheen slick back cream and i am going to attempt to slick my Hair down with it, this was my first time using this cream. I'Ve heard good things about it on youtube, but no one's ever used it on short hair. So what i learned from my hair type, at least in the length that it really did not slick it down at all, it did serve as a good moisturizer um under the gel. As you will see, i will grab gel later on in this video, but it did not lay my hair down at all, so you'll just see me applying it thoroughly saturating it. I'M going to speed this up for you now, i'm taking my denman brush and i am just brushing the product through my hair. You will see my facial expressions at this point is where i realize this product is not going to be enough to hold my hair down so um. I do the same thing on the other side of my head, but the only difference is. I take the y comb wide tooth comb and comb through my hair first before i go through it with the human brush. So since the slick back cream did not work, i'm taking a little of the eco styler olive oil gel and i'm going to apply that. But first i'm going in with my water bottle just re-wetting my hair, because it has dried out a little bit. So i'm making sure i take a generous amount of this eco styler, because my hair is very short and it needs all the assistance it can get to help lay it down. So once i feel like, i have a good amount of the eco gel up there. I go through with my denman brush. I just keep feeling to make sure my hair is thoroughly saturated and apply more gel when needed, and then you'll see a little bit later, i'm going to go in with my hard bristle brush as well to just help further distribute that product. So now i'm taking a square satin scarf and folding it in half diagonally to form a triangle, and i'm going to make sure i securely tie this on like you, don't want to be too tight, but you do want it to be up there very well and Then i'm going to take a long, rectangle satin scarf as well and tie on top of that, and the reason i'm using two scarves is because i need that extra layer of protection to help lay down the middle of my hair. Some people also use like stocking caps or a hat to help lay down the middle of your hair and i'm gon na let this dry. While i sleep so it's the next morning. I'Ve already done my makeup. As you can see, the scarf is kind of pushed back a little bit, so i could blend the foundation in with my hairline, but i'm taking off both of the scarves and my hair dry completely, and it's laying down very nicely enough for me to attempt this Faux ponytail with these clip-ins, so the clip-ins i'm using are from six star hair store on amazon, and these are the 10-inch kinky curly clip-ins, so um, i'm just gon na play around with the positioning and see how i want it. But it's pretty simple. Just opening the clip snapping them in and to get that afro puff ponytail look, so i went a little more volume with my hair, so i'm taking my pick and just picking all the way from the base of the hair to the ends. If you don't like frizz, then you probably should avoid this step, and also i wanted to mention that off camera i took maybe like two bobby pins and um pinned the hair a little forward at the top. Just to make sure i covered the line where the tracks began, so here are the final results. I love them. It'S quick easy voluminous.
