My 5 Minute Ponytail Extension Tutorial - On Natural Hair

☼ ABOUT THE VIDEO ☼

Today I have a quick hair tutorial for you guys. This simple ponytail hair extension tutorial is easy to do. I have short, curly hair and love switching up my hairstyle by doing a ponytail extension. I hope you enjoyed the video. Like I said in the video, you can buy a pre made ponytail extension on Amazon or buy a bundle from Amazon, but I did the latter.

Ponytail extension/ bundle from Amazon: https://amzn.to/34RXbK7

Welcome back to my channel so today i'm going to be doing my favorite type of hairstyle right now, which is like this ponytail extension i'm going to do a voiceover for the rest of it, but i tend to do the intro with filming what it looks like At the end, stay tuned, if you want to know how to do this, look. The other thing is just that the hair i will link in the description. If you have any questions, definitely let me know in the comment section. Basically, i usually do this on dry hair, so i washed my hair a few days ago. It'S completely dry and i'm just taking it out and sectioning it off. So basically, i, like the part in the middle. If you don't like the part in the middle, you can always do like a side part or no part at all and just like slick your hair back um but yeah. I, like the side, part a lot. I think it looks really mature. Just take my comb section it off and make sure that the part is straight and then here i've taken my gel it's more of like a curly leave-in and flick that back into a ponytail try to get all the baby hairs. But if not that's fine, then after i take the got to be glue and i really focus on more on my edges and i feel like this is probably one of my favorite glues just because it's so strong and it really does hold after i apply that I take my brush, i slick my hair back and again just putting into ponytail with my rubber band. I would use a flat brush when i'm brushing the hair. After i'm going to take my mini brush, you can use a toothbrush, but i'm using this one. I got from amazon and take the smaller brush and i'm gon na just do focus on my baby hairs focus on cleaning them up. I have bangs and i also just have a lot of shorter pieces, so i usually take a bobby pin and i'll just put any of those pieces back that aren't sticking because they're too short, um, and so after that you can wrap your hair right after you Apply all the product so that it stays really sleek. If you want to make it easier, you could blow your hair out before doing this or just untangle it. But what i'll do is i'll braid, my own hair into one braid behind my head and i bring it over to the side to make it easier to finish the braid and then once i'm done, i'm gon na take out the hair. So i'm just using one bundle which i got from amazon and i am going to slowly wrap the hair around my braid. I'M going to start at the bottom, take a bobby, pin and and secure it with one bobby pin at the bottom. I'M slowly going to take the hair and wrap it around my own hair and every so often, maybe every like four wraps i'll. Take another bobby, pin and secure it, and i kind of do it at a downward angle. So i put it in at a downward angle, so i think it stays better that way, i'll just keep on wrapping the hair slowly and then i kind of just every so often will also just untangle it a little bit because it gets tangled here, i'm using Brazilian hair um, but yes, i'm gon na keep wrapping it up. The only other thing is that mine is 16 inches. I believe so it's not super long um and if you wanted to make it fuller, i would suggest that you do two bundles, but here we're getting to the top. So what i'll do is i'll wrap it all the way up to my hair tie and then, after all, the hair is wrapped around i'll. Take a piece just like that. One piece of hair and i'll specifically only wrap that hair around my ponytail and i'll secure that with a bobby pin, so it kind of hides the hair tie and then that's really it for getting the ponytail installed um. I usually just take it out at the end of the night, so i don't like slipping on it, but yeah brush it out, make sure there's not a lot of tangles and then bobby, pin anything that is sticking out. My bangs, i'm bobby pinning. So that's what it looks like at the end. That is it for what i'm going to do today. This is super easy. I just want to say for the hair. I just use one bundle and a lot of times. People use two, but i feel like for me it's a little too full. So i like just having um one and also i don't like when it's really heavy and pulling down on my hair, and the other thing is that my hair used to be lighter. It'S growing out so like the ends match with this color. This is a number two so like the bottom works, but i definitely um my roots are definitely darker right now, so i might dye my hair lighter because right now the match is like a little bit different. I don't like it, but usually my hair is closer to this color. So that's why i use this bundle and i use that color. The other thing is that so this is one method and then there's the other method. You can buy the pack of a ponytail extension and just wrap it around without having to kind of go through and bobby pin it. So i just chose this because i feel like when i've gotten the ones from amazon that are like pre-made, it's the hair. Doesn'T last as long, this is real hair, so i can like wash it uh. You know i can make sure that it um it bounces back but like with that type of hair, it's usually synthetic, and it usually just doesn't at least for me. In my experience it didn't work super well, but i do like using a bundle. The other thing you can definitely can select this back more. I don't have eco styler right now on me, so i used a lot of the got to be glue um. But if you have eco styler it'll make it look so much more crisp and like make your natural hair, just slick back a lot more yeah. I know it's just really nice to not have to to do the look like this and not have to straighten your hair and not have to damage it and go through all of that, just to have like a sleek ponytail or the more that you buy hair. That is kind of closer to your natural texture, so, whether it's like wavy or if it's full, it's going to be easier. If that makes sense to like blend it into your natural hair versus, like you, get super duper straight hair like this one i think has a bit of a wave. So you get super straight hair. It'S going to look a little bit. How do you say it's going to be harder just to get your natural hair at the root? To like be super slick, i would just recommend that you, like really search for the type of hair that you want when you're doing the ponytail extension um, and so you know, i think it turned out really cute, and it usually just takes me like five to Ten minutes to do depending on if my hair is already slicked back in the front, it's not too long, and then i probably put like i usually put down like five to ten bobby pins. That is, it yeah definitely like and subscribe. If you haven't already - and i will see you guys in my next video and i really enjoy hair videos, so let me know what you guys want to see um in the future, but i definitely will see you guys in the next video.
