How To | High Curly Ponytail On Short Natural Hair | Easy Protective Style For Thick Natural Hair

Hey yo, what's up its Alicia will come back to my channel, so in today's video I'm going to be at doing a hair tutorial and doing something that is so out of my comfort zone, but I'm really excited about it, and that is a high ponytail. Easy extensions: I will be using the better length, hair drawstring, the ponytail y'all. This is like so different for me if I'm trying to like just broaden my horizons and try different things, and so I have been loving a curly ponytails, whether they are low, ponytail or high ponytails. I just love them, and so I figured why not go ahead and try doing it myself and just see how it looks on me so yea this video is sponsored by a better limp hair. I love their hair. I can just imagine like how easy it'll be to apply this ponytail, so I'm super excited about it and ready to just go ahead and jump right into the video. This is how my hair came packaged in this way: cute black satin, better length, hair bag, so I just went ahead and pulled the drawstring ponytail out the bag and, of course, is in plastic. So once I sucked that off, I just started to run my fingers through it and y'all. The hair was so soft straight out. The package, as you guys can see there is a drawstring, so that'll be super easy to install the hair or install the ponytail, but yeah. The hair was super super soft. There was no smell at all and I am wearing the kinky curly texture in the inches 20. So it's a 20 inch drawstring ponytail in these texture, kinky curly. As far as styling, it was pretty much my usual routine with 80 curly hair. So I rinsed it off. I co wash it with the Tresemme luxurious, moisture conditioner, which I do with pretty much all of my curly extensions, and this just helps to add even more moisture and just get the hair, nice and clean. So I do go ahead and do that. I also make sure it's really detangle the hair and make sure I get any hair out any knots. But this hair, the texture itself, is so soft that I didn't run across any knots at all and then once I co wash the hair, I just rinsed all the conditioner out. Everything was nice y'all. The curls were still super soft and intact. Right after I co wash and iced out the hairiest in the Shea Moisture curl enhancing smoothie, I decided not to use a gel for the ponytail because the texture was pretty loose already. So I didn't think that it would need much of a hold and, as you guys can see here, all I'm doing is just smoothing and breaking the product through the drawstring ponytail and just to give you guys an idea of how much shedding there was. That'S the only shedding that I got with washing the hair as well as stalling the hair, so that's not bad at all, because I got then applied the curl enhancing smoothie. I just allowed my ponytail to air dry overnight and that was it alright y'all. So it's time to style my hair, and this is how it's looking slicking super duper crazy. Like just washed my hair or I just Co washed it not too long, though so yeah. My hair is looking pretty pretty crazy, Boro bout to get this together and put it in make this point. L super duper sleek, but for this hairstyle as far as products goes for my natural hair, I will be using a coarse water because I will definitely have to apply water all throughout my hair. I will also be using the white line. Xtreme show as my styler to get my hair super sleek and just laid and for my moisturizing products I'll be using the Shea Moisture curl InStyle milk, as well as the Shea Moisture curl enhancing smoothie. So first thing I do is just spray water. All over my hair, just to get my hair like nice and damp that'll, be the only way this will go into a sweep on the tails. If my hair is really wet and I'm going to apply my Leoben and my my moisturizing cream, which I mentioned earlier, it is the Shea Moisture products must take the curl and style milk and just apply this all over my hair. If you guys can't tell all I'm doing is just smoothing the product on my hair and then just breaking it in that's all next, I'm going to apply the curl, enhancing smoothie and again just tie it up all over and rake it in all right. This is how my curls up looking super moisturize and juicy I'm going to take a big glob of this wet line. Extreme gel, like it's a really big glob and I'll, keep adding more gel as I need it, but all I'll do is just start applying it all throughout the perimeter of my hair and start smoothing it in I'll also be adding in jail to the back of My hair, because I want that area to be nice and sleek as well, and I'm going to take my handy dandy, didn't brush and start to brush my hair upwards, so everything looks nice and flat and sleek. At this point I have my ponytail holder and I'll. Just go ahead and tie it as many times as I can to keep everything in place there. We go now for this hair up here, I'm going to put it into a just, a very small bun. So what I'll do is? I will take half of the ponytail, do like a two strand twist and just bobby pin it, and I will do the exact same thing for the second half of my ponytail gon na damp out the excess product. Just so it doesn't have that white residue. My hair is still pretty sleek, but I can see some flyaways like in this area, so I'm going to take some more gel and just smooth it onto my hair. All right so edges are laid and did a little some song there's nothing too dramatic, but I definitely wanted to get my edges together, because I feel like what the hair spell like this, since it's so sleek and like simple, you definitely want to lay those edges Down first ones, take this much slimmer, sparse. I used to score my edges and I will apply this to my head first before I apply that much larger satin scarf, and this will help to set my edges in just the parameter of my ponytail. So we got that going then I'll. Take the much larger satin scarf. You guys see here. So my whole entire head is covered and I'll. Let this sit for about 15 to 20 minutes just to get everything in place, everything flat and sleek, and then I'll come back and show you guys how I install this super easy draw straight points help from better land there, alright y'all. So I have let my hair set for about 30 minutes or so and while my hair said I went ahead and did my makeup, so it's just my super routine that I always do so. Moving back on to the hair, take my scarves off to show y'all how flat my hair looks. So this is how flat my hair looks. All of my flyways are laying down flaps. My edges are still laid so yeah everything looks really really good. This little baby bun is like killing me and I cannot wait to put the ponytail on because yeah I this just looks crazy. So we have our ponytail here. It is 100 % aired, but y'all, it's so soft, and I love how the curl pattern on this point still did not change at all. So, even though I did go ahead and like wash it and style it, it still has the exact same curl pattern and yeah. It'S just super soft and just easy to like run your fingers through. I love it. The quality of this pony's Hill y'all is freakin. Amazing, it's so soft and it's a really good length too. So I'm excited to pop this bad boy on and all I do here is just adjust the drawstrings there's a drawstring thing right here and we have our opening, which is right here. As I can see, it's pretty wide, so, no matter how big or small your bun is, it should be able to fit right over that. Y'All can see that opening so I'll go ahead and put it on my bun and there are like two or three clips in here. So first I'm going to clip the ponytail on and then next I'll just take the drawstring, which is hanging out right here and pull it super tight. So there you go super super tight and I'm going to take the drawstring, which again is right here and like a small chunk of my ponytail and just twist it around where the ponytail sits. So that way I can mass, don't wanna demarcation and also hide the drawstring, so I'm just twisting it all the way over bring it around and then I'll go ahead and take a bite you pin and just by you pin that piece down with the drawstring. No, this is just like really cute. This is like real cute, it's like different, but it's cute. I like it so mixed I'm going to take my hair pic and just pick it out some. So that way you have some more fullness to it. So my first impression is that I really do love this style and applying the ponytail was beyond easy like if you are a super super beginner, you could do this hairstyle with no issue at all, so I'm just going around and just kind of picking out different Areas, and can I bring the pic from like route all the way down to the tips. I don't want for it to be too frizzy, but, like I said I do want to add some fullness. So that way my ponytail looks super full and natural yo. What do we think? What are our thoughts? I really really love it. I feel very tropical with this curly ponytail. Oh my gosh. I love it. It'S so different for me, but in like the best way possible, it's so cute and it was like so easy to do. That'S crazy, yeah! I love it. Y'All here is how long it is on me. So the hair is hitting like just below my shoulders. I love it y'all. Oh my gosh and the color matches my natural hair perfectly. So it looks like my hair, crazy, yeah yo. I may have a new hairstyle. I really may have a new hairstyle. I love it and here is a back view of my hair and then I give y'all some variety I'll also show you guys how to do a super simple top knot. So all you'll do is just take the ponytail it'll be super easy and just start twisting. It like this and then wrap it in a bun, so as you're wrapping, it start tucking pieces that may not like fall into place and just keep wrapping it like a bun. So y'all can see there, I'm just wrapping it and if there are any pieces that are like falling out of place, I will tuck those in but yeah. This is even easier easier to do so. I have a couple of buy pins. I will just buy. You. Pin the ends down or probably just need one or two buy you pins, because the hairs pretty much in place already and then I'll fluff it out a bit just to make it even bigger. Even taller, like you guys, see here and that's it very, very versatile and that took maybe 10 seconds to do so. I'M super duper simple. I love how I can change my look up with this drawstring ponytail. You could also do different styles with a low ponytail or a low bun, and just change it up here and there so like. I said there is so much versatility out there and because this hair is so soft and manageable, I can just see it being super easy to change your hairstyle up during the week styling. It was super easy washing. It was super easy. So, honestly, it doesn't take much effort at all to maintain this hair and then a Porsche style it. How you want.
