Howto: Sleek Low Braided Ponytail On Natural Hair| $4 Protective Style

Thank you so much for stopping by Z at another video, so like guys today. Tutorial is really simple. We'Re just doing like a little braided ponytail. I started out with my hair blowdried. Why do I sound so out of breath? Oh my god, um, but yeah. I was jumping up just now enemies, um! No, I thought a little please here guys and I'm starting on my hair, like freshly wash and I'm blowing it out just a bit, I'm using this red blonde, like hair dryers, like this British dryer i'ma leave in the description bar and I'm going in with some Shining Jam Jill and I'm just gon na, be putting that in my hair, I'm gon na be parting. My hair, you know section by section, as I usually do, if this is your first time on my channel, I have a lot of videos where I show you in detail how to get a steep ponytail like you can go check those out. I have a playlist as well like this ain't, my first rodeo, so you know I got this like so I'm gon na just like get my hair in sections, as you know. Well, if you see this is your first time we're gon na, do it sectioning, that's how I get my natural hair to be very sleek. That'S what we do over here. My hair is done in small sections and then I keep adding and adding until I get everything in a whole ponytail. So I'm putting the first section in the back and a low pony and that's where the rest of the hair will be and guys. I was gon na blow like my entire hair, like really out, but I didn't bother so I'm moving on to the next section. I did blow that section out just a bit and then I just like did it without blowing it out and guys. I usually don't use heat on my hair. This really has been something very new for me and it's because this winter season I be getting like real sick, like I was sick every single week and the reason being I wash my hair very often because I do these amazing hair videos for y'all. So I realized that if I don't dry, my hair out, I'm gon na be sick. I'M gon na get pneumonia some like that, and we're not trying to do that. So I'm beginning to blow-dry my hair every time I wash it now just because of winter time as soon as the winter time is over, I'm not gon na be blow-drying, my hair anymore, so I'm using this brush by Revlon, it's pretty good. It makes my hair, like you, know, dry and blown out just enough, but not excessively, like blown out where I have a heat damaged and I'm using it on the low setting. So I'm still trying to protect my hair yeah so to get that hair really sleek. I partly here in small sections I keep going and going and as you see I did my first big section and as I partner here, I the gel to the roots and I bring it down all the way to the tips and this just gets the hair. Very sleek and it allows it to like lay better so I'm gon na keep doing that and as I do it I'll, take the comb and I'll comb it in to the pre-existing ponytail and I'll use my hand as my brush like I use a brush sometimes, But my hands really do the job when you're trying to smooth like you, got to have your hands in there and get the hand action in so we're just like smoothing that and then we're gon na have or second ponytail and yeah, I'm gon na pull that All together and one and that'll be the ponytail and we're going to move on to the third section and I'm gon na part the year, just as I did before in thin sections add as a gel in between whatever whatever gel you use. I'M just using this because this is what I find to work for me outside of this gel, like the Jill that really works. Well, not the gel the edge control that I use all the time as a stop back to edge control and that reads works on my hair. So these are the two things that I'm playing with right now in terms of getting my hair sleep, everything else doesn't work. Eco styler is a dump. It only makes my hair curly every other like gel, makes my hair curly like I will not get any type of sleek. Let me know, I'm always keen on trying new things, but for right now, south onto edge control is my go-to and their shine and jam is really good. The only thing is, it looks really neat and all together, but when I use the edge control, I find that my hair last me a lot longer. This guess everything I really sleek and shiny and nice looking, but my hair does tend to get fuzzy within. Like the second day of having this file, I do have to reapply the product. The only thing is like the only plus is that this product doesn't flake and it doesn't like look weird and he doesn't give you like. Oh buildup, ponytail, so the back. I wanted a great ponytail moment and that's what we're going for and I'm just bringing everything all the way to the back and, as you can see, the gel the shining Jam Jill made my hair really shiny and really sleek looking. So like this is the hairstyle all right now, like we're ponytail looks so good. I look like I have a fresh relaxer and I'm just going to like tie my hair down just so it sits. I'M gon na use the usual rapid styling strips. I use use all the time they get these at my local beauty supply store. I should have a link on Amazon that I'm gon na look for and I'll try to leave it in the description bar and for the braiding here. I'M using autotrace, pre-stretch expression braiding. Here - and I got this for like four dollars - I think I'm my local beauty supply store and I'm using like two packets of the braiding hair. Well, two pieces cuz. It has three sections in there and I'm using two sections, and this is like how we're gon na do the ponytail. I wonder it's a little more natural and like not kind of like thick and crazy. I want it to look like real, so I'm attaching the braiding hair on top of my hair with a rubber band. Just so it covers my thick. You know kinky here and then we're gon na start braiding with the braiding here. Over top, I was at something to add pieces in listen. I can't feed in I'm not a braiding expert, but I wanted a great employee feeling. I know I need to add some pieces that make it more flow, so I did attempt to add pieces as I went along and the first thing I did added. I took AP sorry and I just used my thoughts of increased rate and I wrapped it all around the base. Just to give that nice, you know clean, look from the base of the ponytail. Look like crazy. I could have done this, pointing to the other way where I just like added the ponytail on with a rubberband, and I made like the braid before I put it on my head, but I wanted to try this way, so I would get a more natural look. So we're gon na part the grating here in three sections and then I'm just in separating, and I said I was trying to add pieces as I go along. I was trying to like a feed-in kind of braid situation because I didn't think I did such a great job, so I just added the pieces in there. I have no damn technique as to how I added the pieces. I just knew I needed a piece in here there, so I just tried, I think little pieces as I went along making the braid and in the end I came out with something we came out shining and that's basically, all I did so y'all just gon na Watch me struggle a little bit cuz. I could not see the back of my head for the life of me. I was trying to see the braid through my like my computer, through the monitor, but um now didn't really work out that much, but I did my best and at the end of the day we slayed it so like.
