Hey: what's up everyone, it is heise here, so i finally learned how to flat twist going upside down, which has been a goal of mine for a while. Now - and i learned this over the summer - so i'm just now getting around to showing you guys this tutorial on this hairstyle that i showed on instagram a few months ago. So i start by getting my hair damp with some water. This is going to allow me to manage my hair without breakage, and it also makes the process a lot easier because my hair won't be getting caught up and snagged. So now i am parting off the front section in a triangle shape, as you can see. So this is going to serve as my bang and for my bangs i will be doing mini twists. So after sectioning off that piece, i'm just twisting it up putting it into a bantu knot just to get it out of the way. So i can work with the other sections of my hair without this section interfering with them. So now i will be pardon going up in a diagonal shape, so i'm going up towards the crown. So my all my twists will be going up into like a ponytail towards the crown of my head. That'S what i'm going for! So you want to part at a diagonal shape so that it can form properly. So now that i have my part, nice and neat - and i use a rat tail comb so that my parts can come out clean. I am separating that section in the middle so that i can know where to stop my flat twist. So you just take some sectioning clips and lay down the rest of your hair so that those sections do not intervene with that section, while you're flat twisted so moisture is key when it comes to my flat twist. This allows my hair to look nice and juicy and healthy, and it also serves as great length retention practices for keeping your hair healthy. So i just apply some moisturizer to that section, detangle it so that i do not have any snacks and stops while i am flat twisted okay. So for a flat twist i am just doing a two-strand twist, but i am picking up hair behind that two-strand twist. So i just take the left side, bring it over the right side with that middle finger, and while i bring it over the right side, i'm using my right hand to hold down that section so that it doesn't unravel. So you want to apply tension. This is going to allow your flat twist to come out nice and neat, so you go over with the middle finger, bring it around hold it, and then you go over bring it around over, bring it under over bring it under and make sure that you pull Your hair, all the way through and detangle straight to the end, pull it up as you can see, pull it up. So once you get to the end of that flat twist, you want to just continue doing a two strand twist away from the hair, and then you clip that section down so that it doesn't unravel so now. Moving on to my second twist, so i'm just going right in the front of that earlobe line up your parts with different parts of your face so that it come out consistent. So, as you can see, while i'm pardon when you're going up towards the top, you want to make it a little bit skinnier so that you do not run out of hair at that crown. So don't be afraid to go over that part until you get it to your desired liking, so you start with a two strand twist you go over with that thumb, bring it under hold it over, bring it under hold it with tension over bring it under hold. It with tension and when you go over and when you're bringing it under. That'S when you pick up a little bit of hair. So you want to push that thumb a little bit behind that section, so that some hair that isn't in the twist already can be picked up. Okay, so i have my first two sections completed. This is how they look nice and juicy. So you want to line up those parts with different parts of the face, as you can see, that is right behind my eyebrow and i'm going up at a diagonal part straight towards the crown area, use that rat tail comb to form your parts so that they Come out neat and now that my hair is straight, i am just applying some moisturizer of choice. You can use any moisturizer make sure it has water as the first ingredient so that your hair is properly hydrated while it is twisted down. This is going to allow you to retain length and reach your hair goals, and don't just do the perimeter make sure that you do the ends the entire length of that section. So you start with a two strand twist and then you are going to be flat. Twisting it to the head by picking up some hair behind that twist, pull it over, bring it around over, bring it around and you're. Using that opposite hand to hold it tight, so holding it with tension, is going to allow your twist to come out nice and neat and closer to the scalp without unraveling. So this part is right in front of that earlobe and i am parting at a diagonal again going straight up towards that crown. So it's going to be a little bit skinnier, the closer you get to the crown area, and this prevents you from running out of hair moisturize that section properly with your moisturizer detangle. Well so detangling well before twisting allows you to get through that section without having to stop and detangle. So when you're doing the less dominant side of your head, it's going to feel a bit awkward and it's going to be hard to get the same. Consistency in comparison to doing the dominant side, so my dominant side is the right side, so that side comes out a lot more neater and just you know, with more consistency. But when it comes to the left side, i'm not as dominant with my hands on this side. So it's going to be a little variation in how the twist comes out. But as you practice you're going to get better. So you pin the sections out of the way with your section and clip okay. So i'm moving on to the back right side and i'm just going up towards the crown. So this one is going to go up and you're going to have less hair at the crown. As you can see, it's like a triangle, so your part should resemble a triangle. This prevents you from running out of hair at the crown, so you want to grab that section. Bring it over that section like a twist and then use the opposite hand to hold it, as you can see, grab bring it over and then that hand releases and grabs it and holds it with tension, so you bring it over grab it hold it with tension. Bring it over grab hold it with tension, and now i am at the end of that flat twist and i'm starting with my two strand twists away from the scalp. So both sections are finished. I have the left side done and the right side. So now it's time for the part you guys have been waiting for. I finally learned how to flat twist upside down. This has been a goal of mine. I don't know. I just always wanted to be able to do this, and i finally figured it out - and i haven't done this since the summer guys and to be honest, while doing this video, i forgot how to do it. I just couldn't get the finger movement until i turned on some classical music, and i was able to help my brain to just relax and just you know, connect those neurons so that it can bring my fingers in the right movement to form that flat twist upside Down so for the flat twist upside down, i'm starting with two sections like i did in the front, and i am just picking up hair behind that section. So this is very very tricky guys. It takes a lot of just getting the right hand movement. Once i get to the point where i can, you know really master, it then i'll be able to explain it a bit better, but, as you can see, if you watch my arms so with my right hand, i'm taking that section around my left hand, take it Around and my right hand detangles and bring it around yeah, so i use my right hand as the one that picks up the hair so instead of the middle finger for the back, i'm using the index finger. This is what my brain just told my hands to do, and it's just doing it on autopilot somehow, so i am taking that right hand and i just push that index finger through to bring the section around, as you can see, watch my right hand, so i Have my right hand index finger pushes through picks up a little bit of hair. The left hand grabs that section that i separated and brings it around index finger pushes through index finger pushes through right there. The left hand grabs that section that the right hand separated and brings it around index finger, pushes through and picks up a little bit of hair and the left hand grabs that and brings it around. So the fingers basically work in a rhythm in unison, so they work as a team. One hand is responsible for doing one thing and the other hand is responsible for doing the neck. So my right hand is responsible for pushing, through with the index, finger picking up a little bit of hair, and then my left hand goes in and grab that hair. That the right finger push through and brings it around to form the twist there you. This is a clear view, push it through with the right finger. Detangle the left hand comes and grabs that hair and brings it around into a twist right hand. Index finger pushes through picks up a little bit of hair detangle left hand, brings it around and forms that twist right hand right index. Finger pushes through picks up a little bit of hair, left hand detangles and brings that section over to form the twist right hand. Right finger pushes through left hand detangles and brings it around index. Finger goes through left hand, brings it around and forms that twist so get the rhythm, and you know let your hands work in unison and harmony, and now i am at the end of that flat twist, so i'm so happy to finally be able to accomplish this. Oh, my goodness, it has been a dream of mine to be able to do this on my own hair. So now i'm doing my mini twist bang in the front, so i just separate little tiny pieces and then i apply some moisturizer detangle that section and then twist it up. It'S very simple in the front and i make sure that my twists are falling to one side of my head and, as you can see, i have a clip at the end of those twists, so this is going to help with preventing a lot of shrinkage. Since my hair is damp with that moisturizer and the water, so i want my hair to dry, you know being elongated versus shriveled up, so this is the end. This is how my mini twists. Look they're, not shrink. As you can see, it's a nice bang make sure that you are twisting going towards. You know the side that you want your twist to fall on so for the back. I would just be twisting the loose ends around each other, so i grab one twist and twist it around that entire twist twist it around grab that one twist that around it grab that other one twist it around the entire one until it forms one big twist And i just twist straight to the end and then wrap it into a bun two knot around itself and then pin it down. So this is the end result of my flat twist and mini twist. Updo hairstyle finally learn how to flat twist upside down. I hope that this was helpful to you all.
