#Naturalhairstyle #4Chair #Sleekponytail

Psalm : 23

Hi family. I received so many requests from you ladies regarding how I get my hair into my sleek back ponytail so…… this is how I do it. It's really not hard at all and looks so beautiful. Mine will last at least three to four days if I keep it wrapped every night. I do use a little ShaButter every morning to keep the sheen on my hair.

I want to take this time to say thank you so much for your continued support. I really appreciate it.

Have a Blessed Day!

Hello family welcome to my channel if you're new here my name is angela and this channel is all about beauty, fashion and life. Well, i've been reading your comments and suggestions for videos and i've had numerous requests for a video on how i get my hair into this ponytail. So that is what this video is all about. Today, hopefully it'll be a quick video but um. We try to go step by step or i try to go step by step and demonstrate exactly how i got my hair into this ponytail or how i got my hair from this afro into this ponytail. So if that is something you're interested in to, i don't know why that hits my head. I don't think that it just comes out. So if that is something you're interested in seeing then stay tuned now, let's get started. Okay, you get this okay yeah! I got that okay before i get started, i'm gon na tell you a little bit about my hair. I have 4c here, which means my coils are very, very tight in some areas. I may have a 4b like in the front where they're a little looser, but for the most part i have very, very tight coils and my hair is very dry and it's very dry because once the coil is because the coil is very, very tight. Oil can't get all the way down or can't get all the way up from the scalp to the ends of the hair. So i oftentimes have to put oil on my hair to keep the moisture in in order to get my hair into the ponytail. I always start with fresh clean hair, so i'm gon na shampoo, my hair, then i'm gon na get out and i'm gon na show you how i condition my hair, how much conditioner i have to use for my hair in order to get it conditioned before i Rinse again and start the process of getting my hair into the ponytail. Now these are the products or these are the things i use just right here to get my hair into the ponytail. This is the eco styling gel, it's the green when they come in various colors. You see, i use a lot of this and i will use a substantial amount to get my hair in a ponytail, but i have to have this. This is all sheen spray. You don't have to use this brand, but i've been using this brand for years. This is smooth so that kind of used to keep my edges flat and straight these are ponytail holders. I only need one to put my hair in a ponytail. This is a shy butter. You'Ve heard me talk about this many times, but i use this to put on my hair, but i'll show you when i get ready to do that in order to keep my um to protect the hair and to give it shine - and these are just the little Tiny tiny rubber bands that i put on the tip of my hair once i put it into a little plait in the back and then i'll stick a bobby pin in it to hold that in, and these are barber strips you don't necessarily have to have this. You can use a scarf or what have you to tie your edges down, but i really really like this and like you, can get four or five rolls of these very, very cheap they're. The same things that barbara used at the barbershop when men get their hair cut - and this is my bottle - i use this every single day. So when i get up in the morning i'll have my hair bonded on and i'll take my hair bonnet off and my hair is kind of smushed down it's just much from sleeping, then i just spray it with the water every morning, yeah just this much too, That you do that much then i'll open my shop butter, i put a little bit on my hand, rub it until it melts and through this and kind of play with my hair until i get it where i want it, i know this is a lot and See it's actually a lot longer than it looks you can see. I have some lots of shrinkage here, but i just kind of will play with it in the mirror. Until i get my afro where i want it and then even once it dries up a little bit, it's just going to shrink back down a little bit, but that's just the nature of having a natural afro. So that is what it is now i'm going to shampoo my hair here recently, i've been using tracee ellis ross's pattern, shampoo, and i really really love this. I'M not a stickler to any particular brand or what have you? I have been using one particular brand of conditioner - probably probably for the last seven or eight years, and i really really love that, but i'm not opposed to trying something new, so i bought some of this to try. This is a shampoo and this is the conditioner. This is the hydrating shampoo, and this is the heavy conditioner for coily's. So i've been using this here lately and i really really love it and in order to get my hair, the coils combed out, because i can't just comb my hair - this is just the comb. Is to that the comb is not going to go through it. So, in order for me to get my hair combed out, it has to be wet, it has to be conditioned or it'll break off, really really bad um when i'm trying to comb it out. So once i get my hair shampooed really well and it gets really wet and i rinse it out and i'll condition it, and then i use this brush. Look at this. It just kind of combs all the tangles out i'll start at the end and go all the way down to the root and it combs all the tangles out, then i'll rinse, the conditioner out and then i'll start the process for putting my hair into the ponytail. So i'm going to shampoo my hair and then i'll show you how much conditioner i have to use to condition my hair. Then i get back in the shower and now rinse it out and then i'll show you the process that i go through to get my hair in that ponytail and i'll also show you how i make that ponytail, it hangs down my bag and how i put That onto my own hair, okay, so this is my hair freshly shampooed not conditioned yet so i'm gon na put normally i do this in the it's shower. This is very, very big might take some more, but that's a lie. So this is the i know this is a lot. This is the detangling process, so i normally go through i'll start on this side and i'll go all the way around, and this takes me probably 15 to 20 minutes, then i'll shower and then uh, and that gives the condition time to sit on there and soften My hair and help with the detangling again, then i will rinse this all out and get out and start with my ponytail process but yeah. This is what i do so i'll finish this up in the shower and then i'll come back and show you my hair shampooed conditioned and ready to start the process for the ponytail. This is my hair stripping down my back okay, so my hair is shampooed conditioned detangled, and this is what it looks like you can see. My four seat coils see what they look like you see. The ones in the front are a little bigger. They they're stretched a little bit from pulling them in the ponytail. So, that's why i don't wear a ponytail a lot anymore, because i don't, i don't think my coils like that. But usually when i wear it, i do it for a couple of days and then i'm i wash it and condition it and just wear my afro. So the first thing i do is use my shy butter, and this has lots of really really nourishing oils in it, and i use this first for two reasons to add sheen to my hair and to protect the hair strands from the eco gel. The eco gel is extremely drying, it's very, very good at what it does, laying the hair down slipping it down makes it look really nice, but it'll dry, your hair out, so to protect my hair strands and help keep moisture in the hair strands as much moisture. As possible and add sheen, i put shot butter all over my hair before i do anything else so and i will use a generous amount because, as you can see, i have a lot of hair so i'll now just finger it through. My hair, like this i'll, put the dressing in the bag just kind of rub it all through my hair. To make sure i got all the strands got a little bit of the a little bit of the sour butter. Okay, you know i want to get ash before i finish. Okay, all right now i normally like to wear my hair in a part down the middle, so i part my hair down the middle first. Sometimes it's hard to get this part straight, i'm going to have to do it over a little bit before i finish. Okay, now i take my eco gel and i might sneeze get it get it. Don'T you put that in? Don'T you put that in it? Oh, it's going i'll start with the back and kind of section it off just a little bit, so it's eco gel and it requires a lot put that on the comb through to the end you have to have. If you have hair like mine, you have to have a really wide tooth comb, and this is a hard plastic, so it won't break because i have broken numerous combs. Okay, you can just go section by section putting the gel in my hair. That'S what's going to allow it to slip down really really well now you don't have to have wet hair like i do if you want to blow dry your hair first and have your hair blow dried, i personally don't put heat on my hair. I haven't blow dried my hair in 10 years. I don't put any heat on my hair unless i'm doing a deep condition, and then i have a cap that i bought from amazon. It looks like a shower cap, but it's heavy and has i think it has some sort of beads or beans in it put it in the microwave for one minute. Take it out. You put a shower cap over your head with the conditioner in it and put that on top of your head and it's nice and warm, and it help give you nice and a nice uh heat a moist heat to help condition your hair. And then i do that for me: leave it on maybe five minutes and take it out. That'S the only heat i use on my hair. I don't use. I don't blow dry, my hair at all ever this side. You know do the other side the same way, but that's what keeps my hair so nice and slick and it'll stay that way until i wash it out i'll tie my head up with a scarf every night before i go to bed and it'll stay slicked down. I may have to put a little bit more around the edges, but the rest of my hair will stay slick down until i wash it out. Okay, i can see a few hairs just put a little bit sticking up that i might have that's a missed of jail, and i like to hold my head down like this when i put the ponytail on, because if you hold it like this, then you go Down you'll have tight hairs right. There then i'll place this up, so tiny robins and then i fold this under the bobby pin and it's kind of pin it down. Did i move too fast, probably not for the ladies okay, so this is this. Is it now? If i have any like, if the hair is not as smooth as i like i'll just take my brush and smooth it down and then make sure the hair is how my ear is slick down down like that and i'll take a little bit of mousse just Kind of rub it on my edges: this will help to tame any flyaways. You may have got hair on my hand. Then i take my orange yeah. I know it's a whole lot. Take my oil cheese spray and i spray my edges so that the this paper does not stick to it. When i'm pulling it off two sheets, sometimes i'll use three, so they come they're perforated see if it just tears and they stretch lay that down just kind of twist it in the back ears. Now, when you first start doing this you'll rip these papers a lot, so don't worry about that! You can do two and the other one and then tie it in the back. Don'T pull it real real tight because it's gon na rip in the front, if you do that, and that is it now, when i'm shooting my videos - and i put i do my ponytail the day of the video i do this - i go put my makeup on So, even when you see my hair like this, unless i do two videos that day or one the next day, my hair is still wet, it just doesn't look wet. It just looks shiny because i put the shy butter on before to help seal the strands and to give it sheen um. So this is it now i'll show you how i do my ponytail, so this is the hair that i've been using for my ponytails and this hair there's really nothing special about it, but i've been buying this at the beauty supply store. My door's been getting it for me. The beauty supply store, don't worry about the brand. What you need to make sure you get is like a jamaican twist or some pre-stretched type hair. That looks like this, so i have two other brands, so you can see that the names are completely different. This one says marley style, afro, tris twist braid and, as you can see, the hair looks pretty much the exact same and the same for this. So you can see this comes in that one came in the ones i used to use. It comes in the three pack. This one comes in a three pack and it's 13.99, so it's fairly inexpensive, it's synthetic hair is just plastic and i always get uh 1b i'll try to get a 1 or one b this. What i've been using is one, but this is one b so either or will work depending upon what your hair color is. If you have hair that has color in it or different strands, you can just go to the beauty, supply store and they have tons and tons of this on the wall. So you choose what fits your particular hair. My hair is always between a one and one b. So that's why i chose this too. Okay i'll lay this here. So once i take the hair off the little tab here, as you can see, i've already used those two and i'll use this same ponytail, because i take it on and off maybe a month before i throw it away because it starts looking a little raggedy. So you take uh the hair and you find it comes with the rubber band on it. So you find the rubber band - and you don't want that on there, because it's going to look terrible, just kind of cut the rubber band off and be careful because you'll pull hairs up like this. That keep your hand right there, so you can just pull them back down. That'S all you have to do when that happens, and then you take your so you have the middle here here with a rubber band, was take the ponytail holder like this loop. It under you just take one and put it in up in the other hole like this, and just pull it like this. That is it that is the ponytail. Now my hair is still wet. Let me go ahead and take these uh sheets off i'll, put them back on later and i'll. Show you how i put this on so that it looks sort of seamless she looking cute already. Is she okay? So i have this. I hold my head. You don't want to put it on like this, because it's not gon na sit right. I put hold my head upside down like this and you can most of the time i double this. So it's tight, so it doesn't uh, but my hair is wet, so it doesn't come off and then i flip it back see how it sits like this looks really natural and then i take a bobby pin you kind of go in the middle and just kind Of stick it in that little bun that i made with my own hair just so this doesn't move or come off and just it kind of hides the bun a little bit, and that's it! That'S how i have this ponytail on now uh. Most of the time i may i'll have like two bundles, so it looks nice and full and it kind of fills out on the sides, but i only had one more bundle in that. So i'll probably make one of these with the other pack with two of those bundles and i'll wear it so that you don't have any you can't see through the side, so it looks nice and thick and to take it off. You just flip your hair back over and take it off, that's it so this is has condition on it. Now my hair is wet, but um did i. I normally hang this on the bathroom door. Somebody in this house that liked it but uh, hey hey. It comes with all this all this come together. We are packaged deal me and the hair are a package deal. Well, you can find a place to hang yours. Oh, hey my on the bathroom door or i'll hook it on one of my uh racks that i have in my studio for my clothes. So that's it very, very easy! Well, that's it family! Carina Elizabeth Paul: Thank you , I'm 43 years old and I'm just learning or relearning how to take care of my natural hair(relaxers since I was 11). Adding conditioner and letting it sit before I get in the shower saves so much hot water. And I can combine out my knots and make sure it's properly moisturized. I'm almost tempted to cut it short and rock just a afro( I have 4a-c hair) for summer but tying it up and putting in the ponytail extension has been looking cute these path months.

L-Anderson: Truly authentic! Just what we need, thank you, for sharing. I am spending time on your channel these days. I think I have been subscribed for a while now. Don't ask me where I've been I'm here now, and loving the content. Blessings

Henriette 🇩🇰: Totally l❤️‍ve your tutorial Although my hair is totally different, its pretty cool to watch your routines

Chanda Mocha Swirl: Thanks for sharing. Didn't know the ECO gell dries the hair out so I will definitely be going in with a heavy moisturizer before applying the gell and using oil sheen so the black strips will not stick to the hair and be all flaky lol. I am 4A, B, C LOL been rocking my natural hair for 5yrs but I do wear protective styles (WIGS). However in the summer with Georgia's humidity, I put it up in a curly fluffy bun.

Sharman Young: Thanks for sharing the shrinkage is real with foresee here that’s what mine is but thanks for the tip on the barbers tape or paper I never thought of it and it’s so simple have a great one BTW an idea for another video how about a house tour

Mary Jo Gray: I've been waiting for this tutorial - thank you! Other people say "I just slick it back", but when I try to "just slick it back" it still doesn't work. I thought it was because I have 10c hair, but now I see it may be because I don't gel each section...I'm always rushing my way through it. I'll try your way and see if it works! Question: What's the name of your usual conditioner? Keep up the good work - lovin' your channel!
