“Chin up Queen, or the crown slips “

I DO NOT OWN THE MUSIC

Hey guys welcome to my channel if you're new here my name is karen k if you're a returning subscriber like welcome back guys, so today, i'm doing a ponytail guys. I have a silk press and i've had it for a few days. It'S almost like a week, and i just wanted to do something with the actual straightness of my hair, i'm taking advantage of that. But if you're like a natural girl like me - and you have like medium length - hair well short to medium, because i still think my hair is like short but yeah - you can just wash your hair blow dry it and go in with a flat iron like do It in, like small sections, make sure to use heat, protectant and you'll get your hair like smooth for the most part and straight. So this is what i'm doing to get this style. If you don't want to straighten your hair guys, you don't have to i'm not saying you have to straighten your hair. You can always try it with um. Your hair not straightened, but i feel like for the best results you need to blow dry your hair and like straighten it or have a silpus done and when it's getting old, you can do this style. I feel like because i'm only using the three spray for this style. I definitely needed my hair to be straightened. So this is the look um. If you haven't seen like my three year. Hair journey then be sure to check that video out i'll link that somewhere also guys check out my silk press video. So you can see how i achieve this results. Well, i didn't how the stylist got this result, so i'm parting, my hair in three sections, mainly because it's a center part pony and it's a low ponytail. So i part the top in two sections. I section it off and the back is in one section, but to get it to lay smooth and seamless, i'm parting it into smaller sections. Y'All already know, i always section my hair and having natural hair sectioning is key. You can just like brush everything back and put like um a hair tie on and go, but i'm promised you it's not going to be as sleek. I want my hair sleek guys and if you want your hair to be sleek as well, definitely go in part. Your hair in sections and get to work so the main thing that i'll be using today is this got to be free spray, and i've seen this trend like going around where they do ponytails with only free spray and i've never tried it. So i wanted to try for you guys just so you guys can see how you can achieve like the same result. So i parted my first section off and i'm combing it out with a rat tail comb and i'm just using my hand to smooth the hair. As well as applying my blow dryer on warm and guys, definitely you'll need a rat tail comb and a brush and a couple hair ties. So i put the first section in a hair tie and then i'm just going in with the free spray. Some more and i'm using the comb you'll really need to like smooth the hair. That'S key because once the free spray dries it's in place, so you're gon na want to does that make sense you're going to you're going to need to smooth your hair just so. It'S in place and the freeze brace sets really fast, so you have to like work a little bit fast in a sense because you don't want it to set, and it's not how you want it so like keep combing keep brushing, keep using the palm of your Hand to smooth the hair apply the freeze, spray and mold the hair in the direction that you want it. The first section guys i will continue combing each smaller section that i'm separating into the first section. I hope it makes sense, but you can see. I think you can see it better than i can explain it, but i only used one hair tie and i kept parting, the hair in smaller sections and combing it towards where the ponytail is so. I know exactly where i want in my ponytail, so i kind of used it as a marker and then i just kept parting uh spraying the free spray smoothing and getting everything molded in that direction and using the blow dryer to get it to stay into place And once the whole half of that ponytail was together, i removed the first hair tie and then i just added um everything in one. You could have just added a hair tie over top, but i didn't want all those hair ties in my head, so i removed it and just like molded everything all together and added. Just one hair tie to secure it because once i do the rest of the hair i'll be adding more hair ties to add the two sections, so the less hair ties the better, because you really don't want to give yourself a headache. So this is what the back is looking like, it's just like really smooth, and then i moved on to the top. I sprayed um the free spray on the parting only because there was a lot of flyaways and i didn't want it to get like tangled, not tangly. I didn't want the hairs to mess the parting up. I wanted the parting as straight as possible, especially because it took me so long to find the center of my head. I don't know why it's so hard and guys for the sides. I literally put. I took some hair out because i wanted to have curls on the side and i know on the side. My edges is a little thin and if you follow my hair journey, you know that's the side of my hair. That gives me the most problems. I sleep on that side. It gets the most work, so yeah we're gon na work on it. No don't worry we're working on it. I'M getting my oils together, so i'm gon na fix that real quick but, as you part, the hair and you mold it, it covers so good that covers really good. You wouldn't even know if you have like thin edges or anything like that. So that's why i like the center part too, when doing like a little pony, if you have any like little patches, missing or anything, keep like when you comb the hair and you you kind of swerve it isn't that sort of like or like you, you kind Of smooth it in that, like kind of curve, it literally covers your size. It covers everything, so your hair looks, like you know it's full and all the way together. So i'm doing that and we're literally doing the same thing that i did at the back parting. It spraying it with the freeze, spray and brush it combing it mostly into place, and then, if i see need i'll, add my use my brush a little bit, but literally the comb is your best friend right now and your hands, your palms, that's! What'S going to smooth it into place, and once i get this half of well, is it a third in a sense? Well, once i get this section smooth it in the back, then i'll definitely add another ponytail holder and then i'll move on to the other side. Like i really wanted a little curl thing on the side and you're gon na see that i left some hair out and then i just used my flat iron and i made two little curls for my little tendrils on the side and i think that looks really Cute, it's optional, you don't have to do it. If you want your hair to just look sleek, you can just tuck that little piece all the way in, but i wanted that little extra girliness that little flare to it and yeah i'm going to keep spraying and once i'm satisfied, then i'll. Add the hair tie to the back portion of my hair and i left like a little a little, a little edges out, not really like edges, because it was supposed to be like a really sleek polished. Look, i didn't want like the extra stuff, so i left like a little little bit of my edges because i wanted to do like a little edge art, so it looks really sleek and just like nice. So this is what it's looking like and, honestly guys. It looks pretty neat. This ponytail came out so neat if you want to get like a style like this, be sure to have time on your hands, because you can't just get up and pull your hair back and expect it to be flat and sleek and neat. No, it takes time, especially if you have natural hair and it's short, it's going to take you a minute to part your hair and put it in sections and smooth it and guys. If you have areas on your hair that it's turning white because of the free spray go in with like some hairspray, the oil sheen spray, and it takes it right off and it makes the hair shiny and sleek. So don't worry if you see like any little like white sections, i promise you the hairspray, the oil sheen spray. It takes it off completely and you're good to go guys at this point i feel, like my arms were hurting, because, honestly, it did take me a little while, because this was my first time ever trying to do like a ponytail with just like a free spray. So it did take me a little while that's why i'm saying, if you're trying to do this make time for it, don't do it in a rush, because you're just going to be like frustrated and annoyed just make the time and just like sit down, and do Your hair, you know so everything right now, is a sleeping. The way how i wanted and then i added another hair tie. Oh wait guys i told you that i added three. No actually, it was two because once i sleep the front portion like the half of the front portion in the back, i realized that it was molded so well, i didn't need to add the hair tie. So, instead of adding three hair ties in my head, it ended up being two, so i sleeped in the back added a hair tie, did the front portion left, it did the other side and then added one more hair tie. So this is what it's looking like. I think it looks pretty neat, and this is why i tell you you have to like blow dry, your hair out and flat iron it because you want it to be sleek as possible and guys for my edges. I'M using this twisted edges by hair paint wax and i've used it before, but i used it on instagram, so you probably have never seen me use it, but this edge control is a really good. When i use it, i use it with my braids and it literally made everything lay my edges were in place like all day and yeah. It didn't flake. The only thing i would suggest with um using this edge control is once you use it for the day and you're going to redo your edges. The next day wipe all the remaining residue out, because if you don't it'll, turn white so wipe out all the remaining residue, the dirt, the oils and just start over the next day from scratch and you'll have great results and it won't like flake or turn white. Once you apply to clean hair, so this is what i'm doing. I have like a little soup on the side and i wanted like a little soup thingy in the middle, like i've always seen that on ponytails i thought it looks really cute, so i literally took advantage of my hair being a little bit like you know, lighter To try that so this is like what the edges is looking like and i feel like it turned out pretty cute. I didn't do too much where it looked ugh. I wanted to do just like a little bit where it was still so elegant. I wanted my ponytail to look sleek and elegant and guys. Let me tell you how i went to publix um, maybe two days after having my ponytail in and i saw this lady and she was like - oh my god, you're here so long. I love your hair and i'm just like um, it's a braid, it's not my hair and she was so shocked. I don't know i don't know, but yeah this ponytail was a vibe. Everyone was looking at me on my hair and guys this ponytail does go all the way down. It went all the way down to right where my knee was almost yeah, but i wasn't able to show it um in the video when i was shooting my outro. So i'll try and include some clips somewhere of me like showing the ponytail but yeah guys. This is what it's looking like edges on. Fleek edges are cute love it so guys. While i'm doing this, i will put my crown crush on the screen like somewhere up in here. I'M gon na put my crown crush on the screen. Shout outs to you. Thank you so much for supporting me. I love you guys in order to be my crown. Chris guys, in order to like qualify to be my crown chris, you know what you got to do. You got to follow me like my video, like my videos, sorry comment down below subscribe and that's it. You can literally be my crown crush. So this is a braiding portion, guys um. I use this old tray, braiding hair, and for this i used uh like two sections of the braiding hair. So when you want, when you do the ponytail, you want to put majority of it towards the top of your head and have like maybe a quarter of the hair at the end where you wrap the ponytail. I hope that sounds like it makes some type of sense, but you want to have like maybe like two thirds of the hair in front of you and then like a third of it at the back. So when you flip it over it'll make the ponytail longer. Oh, my god i suck at explaining these stuff, but i really hope that it makes some kind of sense. So what i did i flipped the hair over and then i detangled the hair and guys. Let me tell you this braiding hair was fighting me. It was fighting me so bad. I'Ve never done like a ponytail and had this many knots, it was just very naughty and the thing is: i've always used um, this kind of braiding, hair and i've never had this issue. I don't know what was going on with this pack that i got but honey midway. I wanted to not do this braid anymore. I wanted to just go find me some kind of drawstring ponytail and just be done, but then i'm like, i sat here this long to do this. I'M not going to give up so like yeah. If you're doing your hair - and it's bothering you and it's not working out just take some deep like breaths and keep going because once you're done, you're going to be so happy with it, so guys, i'm literally taking a piece off the braiding hair and i'm using The freeze spray spraying, it combing it. I had to comb it every single wrap because the hair was so tangly and i'm just doing that and i'm wrapping it as tight as possible and with this freeze, the free spray and this method you don't have to use. No hair pins because guys no hairpins were in my hair at all, not even one - and i had my ponytail on for three days and i had no issues and i had to take it off. It didn't drop out. It was nothing like that. So yeah i sprayed the spray and i kept wrapping it and wrapping it, and once you get to like that - and you just want to draw it like really tight around the hair and use your blow dryer and more free spray. So it freezes it into place and it creates like a more polished, looking base. That'S what i like when you wrap the hair around the the end. Well, the base of the ponytail gives you like a more polished look and it makes the style look. Um. Look more finished versus just starting the braid, just like that, so yeah i'm doing the braid and while doing the braid guys, i added the free spray and also a little bit of the egg control on my hair. Only so the hair would actually blend together, because my hair is short, and i know there was pieces like sticking out, so i kept adding the free spray and combing it together and guys. The braided portion took me so long because the hair was so naughty and it was giving me so much issues, but it worked out um. I kept doing the braids like a regular braid, but i had to do like a fit uh feet in kind of method. I had to add pieces of hair as i went along just because the hair was so naughty and it kept like combing it out. A lot of the hair fell out, so i had to keep adding here to it just to make it how i wanted it. Um yeah, if you're doing the style, get the longest braiding hair that you can at the beauty supply. So once you actually do the style, you don't have to add any here. Just make sure you get um a really long, braid the longest one they have and it'll be easier. So you can just like plat the braid all the way down to the end without having the need to add hair to it, especially if you're not the best. At like doing feed in you're, not like the best braider, just get really long, braiding here and it'll solve your problem and make sure you attach it properly make sure you detangle the hair and then just start braiding. So for me my braid gave me so much trouble, but i still finished it and the style still turned out pretty cute. I really hope guys that this video is of some help to you. I really hope that you know it. It shed some light on something. I don't know, but if you guys like this video, please give me a thumbs up. Let'S get the comments up, let me see if we can get to like 500 comments under this video and yeah subscribe, because i'm on the road to 100k and i really want to get to 100k but yeah guys. This is what the hair is looking like, and this hairstyle did not cost me much honey. This braiding hair was five dollars, and that was basically it already had the supplies at home, so yeah, i really hope, y'all and enjoyed this video and yeah. I'M gon na shut up now and have you watch the rest of it and have you enjoyed the finished results and guys? Oh for the braid, it's really long. So i have to do that where i put it between my teeth and you know finish the braid and i added just some nairobi setting some narrowly foam on it. That moves, and i just use that and i added setting spray and i used the blow dryer. Just to get the hairs to come together, but yeah honey, that's really it please stay tuned and enjoy the rest of the video. I love you guys, oh so much and let me know down below if you like, the finished results until next time, i'll catch you in my next one babies bye when you
